Tiki Taco

I’ve always gone to the one on old trolley but we decided to try this location for lunch. The usual time decor as a part of a chain but this one was bigger, more seating, stage area and I think a dance floor. Our server was friendly and mentioned that it was taco Tuesday so they were on special. Chips and Salsa were standard, salsa was very flavorful and they brought us out fresh chips. I got my usual which is a variety of 3 tacos and a side of rice. (Lengua, Cabeza and asada) I didn’t feel the flavors of the tacos were as good as the other location, but I still enjoyed them for the most part. However the rice was a bit overcooked and mushy. I do find the prices to be very reasonable and especially on Tuesday’s - 3 tacos for 6$ so u can’t beat that. I’m curious to see what the vibes are like on a busy night or when they have music or karaoke.

This restaurant had it all! Eating areas, bar area, pool tables, and a stage for live bands. The food was to live for eating. Delicious beef burrito and it was stuffed! One was more than filling. Waitress was very attentive to us with just the right amount of care. Friendly customers, great service, over the top delicious food, and a very clean restaurant - including the ceilings. I'll be going back at least twice a week.

Great food, pool tables, outside tables as well as inside with excellent service. I got the wings and fries, my friend got the beef tacos and they were excellent...loved the large margarita! Awesome band as well...Just wow fasting rising band in Charleston....Dan and the Doughnuts.

The food used to be really good here until it essentially turned into a trashy bar. My husband and I walked in, got the stank face from every single person in there, didn't see anywhere to actually dine (nor a single employee), then walked back out and went somewhere else. How could you mess up such a good thing for something so low quality?

It was a place to gather, play music, play pool, darts, watch sports or tv. Plenty of space. You have the choice of sitting outside if wanted. The staff was very friendly and would talk to you. They went over and beyond the job they were hired to do. They made sure you were not in need of anything. No lines for the bathrooms. It wasn't too loud. I enjoyed the evening with a co-worker. It was my first time there, and I will be calling it my get away spot

I just had the best nachos ever! For barely over 10 bucks I got a mountain of delicious food that made me feel like I ate an entire meal! So perfectly cooked, well balanced with toppings and so fulfilling, I literally can’t wait to go back! Show me another place that will hook up nachos like this, late night, in under five minutes and in this price range?!?!?

Had a really good time here, bands are good and it was a fun place to see.

If you're looking for free chips and salsa this is not the place for you. However it does have reasonably priced food and a laid back bar type atmosphere. The food items we ordered were about 50/50 half of our party was satisfied. I would recommend the nachos.

So I came here 7/18/2025 at night a Friday night at that and they had this guy that calls himself DJ Breeze this dude is straight trash. He's a straight crowd killer when it comes to playing music for the patrons. I asked him to play some songs along with my people asking him to play songs but he doesn't cater to the crowd he's playing for. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!' He told me he's been Dee jaying for 16 years when we ask to play some songs to get people on the floor. I think this will be my last time here as long as he's the DJ here. Great food and staff. Everyone was professional and friendly. The food was amazingly spicy in a great way. Very pleased. I'm not giving 5 stars because I had to hunt down two pool cues that actually had remaining tips and the women's bathroom is very oddly placed. It's kind of wide open to everyone's viewing pleasure when the door is opened, but the guys get to go around a corner with privacy. Minor grievances. Cool place to hang out for a bite, music, and drinks.

Tacos were subpar the meat was tuff as leather. They are normally pretty good not sure what changed

We needed an easy dinner so we stopped by for takeout. We ordered the shrimp fajitas and beef fajitas. The shrimp was rubbery and hard and the veggies had some weird white spots on it that looked really questionable. The beef was tough and bland. The rice and beans weren't even good... just a huge waste of money. So disappointing. Don't go here. :(

Food: - Mexican Street Corn was delicious! - Tamales were old. Tough to bite through. Almost like they'd been kept under a heat lamp for hours. - Cabesa Burrito was average. - Queso dip with chorizo was brought to our table without chips. 20 mins later we asked her to cancel the order because it was cold and we still didn't have chips. Service: - Pretty much non-existent. We had to walk up to the bar to order drinks & ask for them to send our server over. She didn't come by for 30 mins. She was nice though. Ambiance: - We were there for the Treehouse! reggae show & they killed it as always.

The food is good, but the service is NOT. This is so disfunctional. The food arrives hot at a counter in front of the kitchen. Then they leave it there to get cool. Finally a busperson brings it over to the bar area. But the bar workers don't get it to you until they feel like it. And if you ask for salsa, it takes a long time to get it. really frustrated. I am going to start not giving tips and telling them why. that is probably the only thing that will work.

I've came in quite a few times and I've had an unpleasant experience with one of your workers I'm not 100% sure on her name but she's a white lady whom has red hair and a awful attitude . She was very disrespectful and had terrible customer service and I've no only had this issue with her but I've had friends in whom in which also had complaints as well. She is incredibly racist and called me and my friends ghetto based off the color of our skin. I believe whom ever sees this should have a talk with her. There was also a bartender a blonde woman with tattoos I believe her name was heather at least that's what I over heard but she was unfocused and instead of making drinks she was having private conversations with someone about her and her ex which honestly could of Happened at a better time or she could at least multitasked .

This is not the tiki taco that I am a regular at. I decided to bring my friend, who flew in from ATL, to the new one on main Street. What a mistake. I have nonidea what happened but look at the picture and captions. Very blan rice with nothing, I do mean nothing in it. No peas, or carrots, or anything for flavor. Not that I like peas in my rice but something for flavor. The Cactus was so slimy, they threw it on the grill for a quick minute and as the photo shows, minimal on the other side I will return to Tiki Taco on college park

Food is good but costumer service sucks Maybe they need a new management team Kids just talking by the bar no real attention to costumer We just wanted chips no chips were brought to us I guess that was hard to do I look around and girl just talking to a boy They seem bored We are very disappointed

Yup, last time here. The two short waitresses tried to rip me off again. Anyone that stops here needs to watch your bill. I stopped by to grab two Asada Burritos and a side of rice and Beans. Total came to $22.67, but I paid Cash so the total went to $21.37, handed the girl $25 cash and she handed me $2.00. Now math is the same all over the world so I actually paid $23 for the food. So I asked her, do chips and salsa come with the meal and she said NO they're extras $1.50. I then point out that she short changes me about $1.50 so just add them to the take away meal. She acted like she didn't know what I was talking about so I explained it in Spanish and she acted confused. I hate getting ripped off and then someone doesn't hide it. Don't expect a tip for To Go orders, last time I tipped $4 for the same order but this, and my last time, they get $0.00 It's bad enough everything is going up in prices but to have them not give you your correct change is B.S. Shame on you Tiki Taco.

When we walked in I wasn't prepared for the vibe/atmosphere, but we were here so I was like whatever. Then when we asked the waitress if the sweet chili wings were spicy she replied "I never had them." I was a bit confused with her answer because it didn't answer the question, so I asked again and she replied the same. One would think that if she didn't know she would ask, or are my expectation of good service too high? The food was...well, let me break it down. Pork tamale - SUPER DRY. Unbelievable! And, I found a foreign object in it (see pic). The asada taco was decent. The pork belly taco...meh. My partner had teriyaki wings. He said they were "regular." Likely will not return.

we had to get our taxes done in Summerville and made a stop here afterwards. Huge space and awesome food. we typically visit the location on Rivers Avenue, so this was a nice change up! The prices are incredible for the quality of food that you get. The service was a tad but not horrible for a Saturday afternoon. we enjoyed the tamales and sopas! so good & we will certainly be back.

My husband and I love coming to Tiki Taco. The food is always great. We love trying the different kinds of tacos. We always get street corn because theirs is the best! Their burritos are good and filled very well too. Their servers are friendly but can be slow at times. We enjoy coming here!

Checked this place out on a Sunday night- loved the pool tables and all the NFL games going on. Had to wait a little for menus/drinks but the servers were all hustling HARD so they must have been short staffed. Once we got our menus and orders in, food came quickly. Loved the Sopes and my favorite taco had to be the pastor. We went with chips and guacamole as an appetizer- but honestly I would recommend getting the Mexican street corn instead- it was amazing! We will be back!

We always enjoy the food. However they raised their prices and all of the new staff is sub par honestly. This place is more often than not completely full of people. HIRE SOME DECENT STAFF AND IF YOU RAISE YOUR PRICES PAY THEM MORE!!

Solid, if not amazing, taco place. The menu has some fun choices on it (rare to see a mutton street taco in the US), and the food was generally pretty good. The service was a bit slow but pleasant. I'd probably come back unless I found something significantly better nearby.

Food ok. Service not that great either. Has two bars, three pool tables, Dj both and stage. We weren't greeted going in. After awkward moment of standing at door someone from bar says sit where you like. We came after lunch rush so only one other table occupied. Pretty chill, expected great service. I wasn't asked if first time which it was. Menu small which is great to me, concentrate on what your good at cooking. So I expected this awesome mind blowing food. Plus because when I ride by it's always busy. But it was ok. And you don't get the the chips and salsa like most Spanish eateries. Didn't refill our drinks. It wasn't bad but not good enough to go back. Unless you like the music bar atmosphere then you'll like it. But been sober for 33 years. If the food was great and the service was great they would have us as on going customers cause we live in Nexton. But we will keep searching.

Had to run up to Summerville to get my taxes done and stumbled on this gem! I had a asada sopes and chicken tamale. Both were authentic and so delicious! The beans on the sopes were amazing! The tamale was huge and delicious! I ordered 2 more to take home! And the sauce was so fresh and spicy! If you want authentic Mexican food at a really great price, check this place out!

This was the newer one on N. Main... Smelled of stinky fish which should've told me to walk away but I decided to give them a chance. Sat at the bar, which was sticky (surprisingly since they'd only been open an hour). Ordered a bloody Mary, how can someone jack that up?!? They figured out how to... Had a burrito which was underwhelming. Most definitely won't be going back.

The waitresses are rude, have no sense of time for customers, and mocks people when you call in for a to go order. She sucked her teeth when asking for limes for the 4th time. Wouldn't refill our drinks. The food is good and affordable but the service is absolutely trash.

I love tiki taco and it was my first time at this location. We came in for some tacos and security was giving us a hard time about our ids despite them being very real (???). Which honestly didn't even matter cause we just wanted food. After waiting 30 minutes for our food we mentioned to the bouncer that they should learn the difference between real and fake ids. They proceeded to start screaming at us, followed us out the door, grabbed another security guard to also follow us while we were already leaving and he threw our food on the ground. Overall a very comical experience, save your money & your time. They have better locations.

Where do I start. It took 10 minutes to order drinks, 20 minutes just to get the drinks, & when we got our food it was cold. We stepped outside to get fresh air, walk back in & our table of food & drinks full was cleared off. Asked what they were going to do about it but couldn't give me a straight answer and still charged me food the food and drinks we barley got to have. If I could rate this place a 0 I would . Left a $5 tip for the server and she deserved a $0 tip for the horrible service, she would serve tables that were thereafter us and they ate & left before we even got our food. It feels safe to say some of these servers only prioritize their own kind. Which is very sad.

We were very excited to try this place for the first time and was extremely disappointed. Two stars because our waiter was phenomenal. We had a total of three baskets of chips for our table two out of the three baskets were stale. Other reviews said the queso was very watery and they were correct. I got four tacos for my meal, two pollo and two chorizo. The chorizo was extremely dry and lacked flavor and "spice" that it warns you about on the menu. Even with being covered in queso dip they were still dry. Only ate one of my pollo tacos as the first one I had, the first bite I got cartledge the second bite I had an actual bone in it. We will not be going back to this location. The drinks were good however pricey, their large margaritas were equivalent to La Hacienda's small.

The tacos were great until I ordered the shrimp taco, once I tasted it, I had to spit it out, the shrimp smelled and was not fresh. I informed the waitress. When she brought the bill, the rotten shrimp taco was still on there. Clearly I didn't eat it. She stated that she would ask the manager if it could be taken off. He stared at me for awhile and removed it. After signing the receipt, I asked the manager, why didn't he want to remove the rotten shrimp taco, he stated that he spoke to the kitchen staff. No empathy or apology for the rotten tacos.

My first impression of this place was not great already as the atmosphere had a weird feeling. There is no one there to greet you when you enter and they just tell you from the bar to sit wherever you like. The service my family received was beyond disappointing. We saw out server maybe 5/6 times throughout our entire meal, which includes her bringing us the check and hanging it back. Not attentive at all and seems to care more about conversations with coworkers. This would all be put behind me if the food was great but unfortunately it wasn't even good. There was no flavor. The "salsa" was basically pasta sauce as there was oregano in it and rhe queso was so watery i didn't even know how cheese could be like that. I got the enchiladas and there was no flavor it was so bland, the only flavor that they had was there to make it spicy and have heat. I will never set foot back into this establishment. I hope everyone else steers clear of this place as well.

Pretty good authentic Mexican food. Casual and reasonable. Could use tv other than sports.

My name was Carlton before I had my 1st taco here. I recently change my name to Carlos I switch my wardrobe to mexican attire my Jordan's are now boots. I'm not sure what made me do it, but I believe it's these dam TACOS. MAN THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB WHEN IT COMES TO TACOS. I haven't even tried anything else just about 20 of those tacos and I'm Good. Best taco place in Summerville. Now I'm gona pawn off more of these Jordan's so I can afford more Tacos

Place is amazing the food the drinks, prices on drinks and food the staff/ bartenders gone there few times and dont have a compliant to say about them... I recommend it

Good food great drinks and service. The live music is really cool and there isn't a cover charge I'll bring my friends and family in again.

The birria tacos are great!! The place needs a little more cleaning but food is not bad, and the food also comes fast .

Don't order on the phone I called the place only for me to not receive any response and I get hung up on and didn't even get to order my food

i don't recommend this place the food is not even good the meat wasn't good!!! and i payed 5$ on the audio box it took my money and they turned it off when my music was playing smh!!!

my boyfriend and i had went to out to dinner the other night at tiki taco, this wasn't our first time going but this was our first time having this type of experience, we are used to the restaurant being busy due to having a band perform & other peers playing pool & being outside, but specifically our waitress, we had seated ourselves & she made her way over with our menus, got our drink order in took her about 5 minutes to bring over 2 waters... the other table that sat next to us after we had gotten there already had their drinks before we received ours, we didn't really care for that part... when the food had came our waitress not once came over to make sure our food was good, that we were satisfied, and/or if we needed anything else, i myself had got up to use the restroom and while gone she came up and grabbed our plates, nearly 30 minutes later... 3 songs have been played.. our plates were taken... we still haven't received our bill.. we went up to the bar area to pay & we had decided to leave no tip due to such poor service... we had later checked our bank accounts and the waitress took a tip herself from both my boyfriend and i bills (we paid separately), although she didn't take a big amount it's the fact of we didn't leave her a tip for a reason & she still felt it was necessary to go out of her way & give herself a tip. i'm sure if we went there, they could pull up our receipts that show the dash on the tip line we'd get our money back. id give this zero stars for the lack of service but our food was good like always.
