The Best Places to Eat and Drink in Walnut Creek | Eater SF

"The tiki vibe is alive and well here, if you’re looking to hole up in a stylized bamboo hut with a fruity beverage in hand. Keep in mind the colonial roots of the tiki bar movement as something to chew on during your next visit, but there can still be some appreciation for the style of drinks that have come out of tiki bars. Here, the Rhum Rum is a blend of rums and cognac, with pineapple, apricot, strawberry flavors, and the Dole Whip is perfect for those missing their Disneyland fix. There’s a food menu as well, with some smaller dishes of lumpia and bao, as well as a smash burger and ribs if you’re hungrier." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
Great tiki build in Walnut Creek. When we went they had a Christmas overlay but the details around the bar are amazing. Truly a sign of a great tiki bar when you can't see everything on your first visit. Unique drinks and some staples as well. Great place to hang out!

In all honesty, this review is from a visit from a few months ago, but I feel like it still stands. I stopped by here with my friend on a Saturday was seated within ~5 minutes. The Horst and wait staff were super friendly, attentive, and helpful! I don't remember what drinks or dishes I ordered (shrimp rice bowl, poke appetizer?), but both were delicious and well seasoned! The drinks were on the stronger side, but so good! I remember that even with all this, the price was still reasonable. Overall, I had a great time here and loved the food and drinks! I would definitely come back for a happy hour or drink. Service: 5/5 Food/Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

I wish I could give a positive review here but I can't. Drinks were unbelievably sweet and lacking any strength that is known for a Tiki drink. I had the the Pain Killer (their signature Tiki drink according to the menu), it had 3oz of mixer and 0.5oz of 80 proof rum, need less to say that's a weak cocktail which wouldn't have been a problem on its own if it was not unbelievably sweet. The best Tiki Bar in the bay (and I've been to all 22 of them) is Kon Tiki, a drink taste the way it should - aroma, ice cold, booze is there but doesn't govern the flavor, and the sweetness is balanced such that it doesn't seem 'sweet' but perfectly flavored. $67 (with tip) for two drinks and an appetizer. was excited about coconut shrimp, main reason we went, they weren't bad, but 5 medium/large (not jumbo imo) shrimp for $18 seemed a bit steep. My girlfriend and I will not be back unfortunately, when in need of a Tiki bar it's worth the drive to Oakland or SF, wouldn't recommend coming here unfortunately.

This was my third visit this month. My out of town guests love it for birthday celebrations. The room comes alive with the volcano. Food is fantastic and the wait staff is attentive. Drinks are innovative

Google
Small and a bit dark inside, but the vibe is great. Staff are really nice. We went twice. Once for my birthday, and their celebration style is super fun. The food is full of flavor and everything we tried was delicious.

Google
The bar has a nice interior, but it was way too crowded, there was nowhere to sit, and we had to wait over an hour for a table. It was also quite noisy. The cocktails had a beautiful presentation, but the taste was just okay, nothing impressive.

Food was good. Drinks were great, small dining area and waited 1hr be for we sat down. Cute vibe

Google
Tiki Tom is a fun place with a real tiki vibe. The drinks and food are great, and the servers are knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Tables are reservation only, but the bar is always open seating, and usually it's no problem getting a seat at the bar. My wife and I plan to go more often in 2026.

Yelp
We wandered in on a whim while shopping and we're so glad we did. The place is decked out with vibrant tiki themed decorations and festive Christmas lights, creating an inviting atmosphere. Christmas music filled the air, adding to lively vibe. At one point the lights dimmed and the sounds of Polynesian drums echoed throughout the bar as they brought out what appeared to be a birthday dessert. What a fun place to celebrate! As someone whose doesn't drink, I appreciate it when their mocktail game is on point. I loved the Coco Loco which consisted of Coca-Cola, coconut & lime. Simple but delicious! We definitely want to come back and try the food! So glad we came across this vibey lil spot.

Yelp
This bar is such a fun time, especially during the holidays. It was our first time visiting this week, and we knew it was going to be a great time when people were lined up 10 minutes before 4pm, when they open. It was such an experience walking in to a tiki room with beachy Santa vibes wherever you go. We ordered from the post card QR code menu, very cute, and because we'd already eaten we just ordered drinks, but the food orders smelled sooooo good whiffing past us while we were waiting for our drinks! I was stuck between the pina colada and the dole whip with rum. I went with the house made pina colada as is it was highly recommended by the staff and I'm so glad I did! I also ordered the Crimson Tide - a tequila based cocktail with lime, orgeat, strawberry and hibiscus. It was a cool drink to order, it came with a sugar cube on fire. Definitely come check this place out for the holiday season!

Yelp
To start, a big shout out and thank you to our waiter, River Jordan. He provided excellent service throughout our visit and was very knowledgeable of the menu. River Jordan definitely deserves recognition for his hard work! This was our first time at Tiki Tom's, and I was craving island-inspired drinks and food--this spot was exactly what I needed. I also want to add how nice the decor is inside. It's dark, but it gives Tiki vibes. There is a parking garage nearby given that street parking is impossible especially during dinner and weekends. For drinks, I went with the Mac Makua Kane (The Mac Daddy), while my significant other chose the Benzombie. Warning: the Benzombie is no joke -- a sip probably would make me drunk. For the appetizers, I recommend the Loco Moco Gyoza and Puri Puri Pagan Wings. Both delicious and should've ordered more. For the main course, I tried the Ahi Tuna Bowl and my bf ordered the Loco Moco. Don't leave without getting the dole whip and haupia tiramisu! Our first experience dining here was fantastic and we are eager to return and try more of the menu items.

Yelp
Fun place to have a birthday celebration! We saw many tables have a mini volcano with sparkler being presented where they shut most of the lights in the dining room, play a thunderstorm sound and loud Polynesian drum music. My friend's husband chose this restaurant to celebrate his wife's birthday & it's kid friendly too (their kids are 11 & 14) & there are menu items to please the kids too. No reservations are available on weekends so arrive early if possible. It's not a large restaurant so groups with more than 6 people may have a long wait. We waited about 25 minutes & walked around nearby bookstore until our table was ready. We shared coconut shrimp (easy to eat because they were on a skewer) & spam musubi to start. Spam musubi was nice & crispy & not too salty. Coconut shrimp was perfect crispy & flavorful too. I had the loco moco for my entree & it's served with a slice of spam & mushrooms, & the gravy is a bit different than the traditional loco moco I'm accustomed to in Hawaii but it's still good. The rice was not as fluffy as I'm used to but the gravy helped the rice out. For dessert, we shared the haupia tiramisu which had a light coconut flavor & the mango panna cotta. They added the sparkler to the tiramisu dessert for our birthday celebration. Service was warm & friendly. Parking is available in a nearby lot (you have to drive up a ramp) & pay meters are in front of each spot.

Yelp
Super friendly staff. We were sat right away. The food was delivered in a timely manner without making us feel rushed. The food was on the sweeter side but delicious. There are a lot of options for drinks. The place felt homey but the lighting is really low.

Yelp
Tiki Toms can get pricey with a large group but the food and the experience was GREAT! We celebrated my husbands bday and they came out with a party candle and it was really cool. The ribs are off the chain. The service was great. There was a bit of a wait because we were such a large group but I was so grateful that they made space for us. Will definitely return in the future with a smaller group lol.

Yelp
SO MUCH FUN!!! Came here for a girls night and it was the best choice we could have made!! Please note that the dining area is dim and they play loud sounds to celebrate birthdays and special occasions- it is super fun, but wouldn't be your cup of tea if you're looking for a quiet dining experience. Around us were lots of adult birthday parties and adult friend groups. We came Friday around 6:30pm. They don't do reservations on Fridays or Saturdays but luckily they still had a few tables available. The staff said they usually get busier around 7/7:30pm. The space is decorated all over and the tiki theme is executed perfectly. Their menu choices for food and drinks are plentiful- everyone can find something they like. The chili garlic shrimp was sweet and spicy and we loved it. The ribs were perfectly cooked and had the BEST crispy brussel sprouts on the side. The portions were good! We all really enjoyed our drinks. The service was great and fast and we had a great time here. Already looking to come back and show this spot to more friends!

Yelp
4.65/5 Extremely well done tiki bar in Walnut Creek! This spot has a lovely ambience and the service and attention we got were top notch. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer and the drunken noodles and honey walnut shrimp for entrees, per the recommendation of our server. Alicia, who was our server, did an excellent job in taking care of us. She was warm hospitable and welcoming. She definitely added to the whole overall experience! As first timers this definitely won't be our first time.

Yelp
Excellent food and drinks.. Perfect for a date night or with a group of friends. A little dark and cozy and when it's somebody's birthday, thunder and lightning and a festive Eno with sparklers comes to your table. Hope you like Tootsie Rolls! The food is delicious and plated very nicely. It's a mix of Thai and Hawaiian fare. Perfect for gluten-free to vegetarians to meat eaters. But the drinks are where it's at! Can't go wrong with the classic Mai but there's so many great ones to choose from as well as non-alcoholic versions of things. Would definitely come back again!
google avatar

Yelp
The drinks are fun and delicious! And the food is very underrated! Love the coconut shrimp, wings and burger. The ambiance is tropical and immerses you into a tiki bar unlike anything else you'll experience in the east bay. I highly recommend bringing your friends here for a fun night and especially for any birthday celebrations to have the whole lounge celebrate alongside you and your party!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow!! What a tiki bar!! I was visiting for work from Hawaii and my friends who live in the area insisted we go check out this spot and for good reason, late on a Saturday night they were showing off in all their tiki glory with all the cool room ambiance tiki effects and the drinks were solid with a diverse menu. I would say it's not like a heavily high quality craft cocktail tiki bar but it was fun and there was a lot of food and drink options.
google avatar

Yelp
So this ks where we celebrated my friend's birthday. Every went well - from reservations to services and food quality. The best part was the volcano surprise! I'm not going to share details but if someone is having a birthday, this place is a bomb!

Anabel A.

Yelp
Date night always ends with tiki toms The pain killers are fire and we have tried the food too the birria sandwhiches and the service is 10:10

Yelp
This establishment offers a wonderful ambiance, excellent beverages, and delicious cuisine. My only minor concern was being informed that our reservation was limited to 90 minutes. While this policy would be understandable during peak hours, the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time.
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
Tiki's Tom's is my new go to for late night bites and drinks! The vibes and lighting are absolutely fantastic. For food, the Kahula Pork Tacos were the definite highlight. I also really enjoyed the flavors of the Birria French Dip and the Birria is juicy. To kick off the night, the Tiki's Fiery Bowl was a great choice and set the mood perfectly.

Yelp
Wow! An actual late night spot I can recommend in downtown Walnut Creek that serves a blend of traditional and creative cocktail drinks AND food. *Ding ding ding*. Been meaning to check out this place for some time, and I guess between missing dinner and looking for some late night eats on a Saturday night, Tiki Tom's fit the bill! Since we came after 10 PM, we got the "happy hour eats" menu (happy hour in spirit, but not in price). Got the Birria French Dip, which was so good! Beef marinated in birria, hashbrowns, cheese, and onions was like brunch rolled into a sandwich that you could dip in a delectable au jus dipping sauce. Haven't had anything quite a like it, but would definitely order again! Drinks-wise, the Walnut Creeki Tiki was a winner: banana, coconut, walnut, cocoa bitters, spiced rum, and nicely alcoholic. I downed it so quickly yet felt it shortly after. They really got the ambiance down. Not sure how it looked prior to renovation, but they utilized the space well and the screen displays make the place feel more expansive. I liked how they showcased how different films have involved tiki culture/merch into their films. Would love to come back for dinner some time to try their actual dinner entrees!

Yelp
This was my first time at a tiki bar and I have to say, the moment you walk into Tiki Tom's, you feel like you're transported to a different world. The decorations and ambiance are on point and it feels like you're on a tropical island somewhere. We came here with a few family members and decided to try their food along with the drinks. I ordered the poke and got the BenZombie cocktail while my girlfriend got the loco moco and one of their tropical drinks. The BenZombie was super strong but all the alcohols worked really well together. My girlfriend's drink had a nice balance of sweetness and alcohol that captured that tropical vibe perfectly. Unfortunately, the food was really subpar. My poke had way more cucumbers and veggies than actual tuna, and the flavor was overly sweet. My girlfriend's loco moco was on the saltier side and lacked the richness you'd expect from a good loco moco. For the prices they charge, I was expecting a lot more from the food quality. Overall, I'd only come back here for the drinks and atmosphere. The tiki bar experience is definitely cool and worth checking out, but with how expensive everything is and the disappointing food, I wouldn't make this a regular spot.

Yelp
10/10 for themed bars! This place should win an award for creativity. I've been to a lot of pirate/tiki themed bars and this one takes the cake!!! Super nice and sweet bartenders and hostesses. Drinks can be a bit pricy but you'll really only need one or two to get a vibe going! Will be coming back here again and again. Great cocktails.

Yelp
The ambiance was amazing. When a birthday is celebrated the room thunders. The food is amazing. Kahlua pork usas good as any in Hawaii. The drinks are innovative. The team approach to service provided us with excellent service. I loved my drink in Spam can

Yelp
So I was walking around Broadway with my family for some post-Christmas sale shopping last weekend... And as I walked over to Barnes and Noble to meet up with my dad, what should I stumble upon but a cute little tiki bar and restaurant tucked in the middle of the block? I suggested grabbing a mai tai while we waited for the ladies in our family to finish shopping, and ended up having a fantastic meal and experience there! Tiki Tom's gives you the full-on tiki experience from the get-go. You enter through a large wooden door, and are immediately transported to a tropical paradise inside. All sorts of nautical decor adorn the walls and ceilings, with cozy lighting illuminating every corner of the restaurant. You can either sit at the bar for a drink from their extensive cocktail menu, or get seated for a full meal. We ended up doing both! For drinks, we had the mai tais and painkillers. Both were excellent - the mai tai, as they explained to us, was a more traditional mai tai that was more spirit-forward and less fruity (which we loved). And the painkiller had a delightfully frothy, coconutty flavor that tasted like a quintessential tropical island drink. On the food front, I had the honey walnut shrimp, and LOVED both the texture and flavor. The others with me had smashburgers and the mochiko chicken, and everyone loved their meals as well. There wasn't a single thing we ordered that we didn't like! Throughout our stay, service was friendly and helpful, and there was a great buzz of energy inside - people were talking, laughing, and seemed to be having as great a time as we were. Tiki Tom's is an excellent addition to the Broadway scene!

Yelp
We stumbled on Tiki Tom's by accident this weekend, walking between the parking garage and our genius bar appointment at Apple. The building's exterior is evocative in its nonchalance, with Hawaiian details that hint at something special. Walking in later, our intuition was confirmed. Tiki Tom's ambience is the perfect setting for a tiki bar experience: --dim lighting punctuated by colorful lanterns and pin light illumination of tables and kitchy Polynesian art -- a full restaurant and bar with a relaxed crowd--everything from couples, friends, even a birthday girl wearing a sash--the air filled with warm (but not loud) conversation --performative features like special drinks serviced with sparklers and exciting thunder and lightning --and friendly, knowledgeable staff in themed Hawaiian-shirt uniforms Our service, of greater importance, was excellent. --Good communication at the host stand during a busy Saturday night set accurate expectations of a 30-45 minute wait --same for bar staff who served us in standing room only and at the bar while we waited; when asked if we should stay or take out table a bartender reassured "it's wherever you feel comfortable" and smoothly transferred our ticket --the host helped us migrate over to a fabulous half-circle booth with a view of the entire restaurant and its entertainment --our waiter Ericka was highly experienced and very knowledgeable of the menu and the extensive cocktail list, providing favorites as well as personal recommendations based on our input: "I just want you to have a good experience" --even the friendly expo Quinten who contributed good cheer and a recommendation of his own (complimenting the Royal Blossom as his favorite drink) And most importantly, but as we expected given the excellent introduction thus far, the back of the house matches the skill of the front. Food and drink were all fabulous: --chicken lettuce wraps to start, a build-your-own with succulently-seasoned meat on sturdy iceberg lettuce --for entrees, in consultation with and at the recommendation of our server, I had the drunken noodles--spicy and satisfying --my partner had the kahlua pork plate which he said was like "sweet carnitas", before clearing his plate with a one word verdict of "delicious" --for dessert, a satisfyingly warm, well-spiced, and perfectly sweet arroz con leche that my partner says reminded him of his grandmother's recipie Our cocktails were well-crafted, well-executed (and effective): --Banana Hammock --Mai Tai --Tequila Tai --Royal Blossom All in all it was a memorable experience of excellent quality and good cheer, strongly reminiscent of Trader Sam's in Disneyland (a favorite of ours). So much so that I bought a themed Tiki Tom's postcard to send to a friend who works as a bartender in the South Bay and is equally fond of Trader Sam's. My message to her and wait staff was a promise "we'll meet you here soon!" I suspect anyone reading this far in the review will feel the same. When I asked my partner "is there anything the restaurant could have improved?" He echoed my sentiment: "I don't think so". 5/5 stars

Yelp
Such a fun place Atmosphere is amazing so much to look at! The staff is super nice and friendly the spam musubi is amazing and a fun twist I love the ultimate Mai Tai and the new soft shell crab sandwich was one of the best things I've ever eaten!!
google avatar

Yelp
Stepping inside Tiki Tom's is like entering a new world! It's definitely an experience to dine here. The food was also pretty good. We had the Kalua pork plate and pork poutine. The poutine was good but there were a lot of fries so this might be one that would be better shared rather than a single entree. Overall a very fun and exciting place to go to for a dinner or date night! Servers were also very attentive and accommodating. Highly recommend!
google avatar

William M.

Yelp
What a great place! Their reimagined Hawaiian traditional favorites become fantastic new creations. They do a fine job with classic Tiki cocktails and add several creative one of their own. Service is very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is Tiki decor which manages to be fresh and traditional at the same time.
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
Yummy food. Solid drinks. Service took rather long. Ambiance was tiki vibes. Loved the collection in the front.

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday over the weekend at Tiki Tom's! It was a great experience. I love the atmosphere and the drinks were on point!!! The service was excellent, Nicole our server was courteous, efficient, and had the best customer service. I will definitely come back.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
We've been back here a few times now and every time has been great! Solid service, tasty drinks, and good food -- so it's definitely time to bump this up to a 5 star review! The new/special cocktails are great and we've found a few on the normal menu that we love. The lumpia and fries were both tasty and we definitely want to try more of the food menu in the future too.
google avatar

Gregory L.

Yelp
Getting better and better. Service fast and efficient. Food is improving. Hits the spot when looking for tropical drinks.
google avatar

Shaina B.

Yelp
A girlfriend and I hit Tiki Tom's Saturday evening and what a blast!! Totally not what we thought it would be; the vibe was more jivey BUT the food was delicious. We had the brussel sprouts, papaya salad and poki salad... Every single thing was so yummy!! The people were awesome too and the vibe was super chill. Just a great spot to hang out, have a good drink and eat some good food. We'd definitely go back!!
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
Great fun ambience, good tasty food and selection of music played, and excellent friendly servers. The cocktails look great but are on the weak side (and no I'm not an alcoholic) and the warning that you get kicked out after 2 hours to make room for others is a bit annoying so that's down one star ( we didn't stay the whole time so didn't need to be escorted out)
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Well they've done A LOT with the layout and look of the bar since I was here last. This used to be a "tiki" bar with some surfboards and pictures of surfers on the walls. Now it feels like you're in a legit "tiki" bar with bamboo, masks, lava, palm trees, water and the best mixed frozen drinks. The bar staff is quick to help, but get in early if you're in a rush - it looks like it gets packed now! Will certainly be back.
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
Came here with some old friends to grab some grub and catch up so here I am. I ordered the black pearl cocktail and the Quesabirria tacos. The cocktail was really sweet. The Quesabirria tacos were alright nothing out of the ordinary. It could be a little more cheesy but I guess that's fine. The service here was okay. The people here are really nice. They gave us the wrong food at first, so my friend had to wait a little bit longer before her food arrived, but not too long. The inside of the restaurant itself is very dark and there were a lot of Halloween themed decor. I don't know if it's usually like that or if Halloween is just coming up lol but I like it.
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
This was a great place to celebrate my birthday with family very nostalgic inside wall to wall tiki statues so much fun. The cocktails were great. The food was just as good. I love the chicken wings that came out on fire. I was given a dessert for my birthday that looked like a volcano. I loved it so much fun. Service was excellent very personable very professional and our waitress was able to give us some great ideas on what to order. I always appreciate that . I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
Still love this place - adding photos. Best mai tai hands down. Fun place to unwind or to bring friends. My only request is please add more vegetarian/vegan snack options!
google avatar

Belen S.

Yelp
The vibes were nice I totally forgot the name of the drink and food I got. The drink was more on the sweet/sour side which I enjoyed while my food was tasty especially the shrimp. The only down side was the Brussels sprouts were a bit on the burnt side but still pretty tasty. I'll definitely give the place and the Brussels sprouts another try.
google avatar

Khuong N.

Yelp
Went here for pre drinks while waiting for dinner reservations. Nice intimate spot with Hawaiian inspired decor. I remember when this was a hole in the wall dive bar. Now it looks really nice inside with a lot of fun drinks. Service was nice and quick. Ordered the sinner and it is a spirit forward cocktail, I added the jalapeño for an extra kick. Some of the drinks they light on fire. They also have food options but didn't partake this time.
google avatar

Sonia R.

Yelp
Entrees were so good with huge portions, don't shy away from the shrimp they really are jumbo, also highly recommend the apps. The drinks were pretty mediocre mostly sugar and ice, plus there aren't really any rum-less drinks. Servers were super friendly though it does get busy, so make a reservation. Cool lighting and very lively.

Yelp
Pleased as punch - rum punch, that is! - about their new and expanded food menu. My partner and I dropped in for a nightcap, and I wanted something to nibble on, along with our libations, so I took a look at the food menu. Wow! A definite upgrade in food selections. We ordered the Drunken Noodles and they were so yummy. My partner said he would return for those alone. I'm looking forward to trying other items from the new menu in the near future. In addition to the delicious fare, the cocktails are always on point, the vibe is fun, and the bartenders are super nice and pleasant to chat with. This place is a staple in Walnut Creek for good reason.

Yelp
Stephanie and her staff were great. They greeted us at the door and made sure we were taken care of, they were all so nice and attentive to our needs. The food was so tasty and we felt we were in another world. I was there on a somber occasion and they were so understanding and compassionate. Thank you Tiki Toms, Stephanie and all your staff for making my somber day a good one.

Yelp
My brothers and little sis came here for our monthly dinner together and made a reservation since it was memorial weekend and we weren't sure if it'd be busy or not. From the moment you arrive to the door and the dry ice fountain it looked amazing! We walked in and it's definitely an experience. It was the cutest little tiki restaurant. I thought we'd step in in Hawaii. We were seated right away. Our waitress brought us water and we order shorty after. We ordered the pagan wing's appetizer, the loco moco, Kaluhua pork plate, quesabirria tacos and a frozen pina colada. The wings were by far all of our favorites. The presentation was beautiful and they pour fire over it. It was delicious. The loco mocos were okay (brothers both said it could've used a lot but more flavor and sauce), the Kaluha pork plate was yummy (wish the macaroni salad was a little more creamy). On the other hand the quesa birria tacos were very stuffed and delicious! I would suggest you try the wings and the tacos if you come here. As for the frozen pina colada I wouldn't suggest if you can't take drinks that are really strong ( my brother loves strong drinks so he took it) Other than that I will be coming back with my husband

Yelp
This place is such a vibe I can't wait to return , try the food & more tasty drinks the atmosphere is really nice & cozy like!

Very cute place and real good food. Very strong drinks loll and the portions are very big. Excellent service

Yelp
Sad it took me so long to come here for the first time. Tiki gem in downtown Walnut Grove that checks all the boxes, great tiki atmosphere, great drinks, great food and great service. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Great neighborhood find tucked into a small nook behind the book shop. Decor is fabulous and full of tiki treasures. Fabulous food finds and great place for a unique eating experience. Love the fact they have gone digital with the menus..propelling forward into the next century. Can't recommend enough!

Yelp
This is a great spot. My wife and I were searching for a tiki bar earlier this year that we had visited years ago, but couldn't find it. We were delighted to find another- Tiki Tom's. The food, drinks, and service are all great. The atmosphere is great and transports us back to memories of Trader Sam's at Disneyland and Oahu.

Yelp
Didn't eat the food, just had cocktails. Was here for the full Tiki experience. What an amazing Tiki experience it was! Incredibly tasty cocktails, with a good variety of options from tiki classics to originals they've come up with. Bartender was super nice. Warned you when a drink was on the sweeter side or more spirit forward. You can tell the owners were big into Tiki culture. Some cool mugs on display. The decor reminds me of Trader Sam's in Anaheim in a good way. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Ah, Tiki Tom's in Walnut Creek--a tropical oasis where the mai tais flow like a river and the décor makes you feel like you've been shipwrecked in the best way possible. Pros: Ambiance: Imagine if Trader Vic's and a pirate ship had a love child--that's Tiki Tom's. The Polynesian décor is so immersive, I half-expected a volcano to erupt mid-meal. Drinks: The Ultimate Mai Tai is aptly named; it's like a vacation in a glass. Just be careful--after two of these, you might start speaking fluent Hawaiian. Food: The flaming chicken wings are so good, they could make a vegan reconsider life choices. And the lumpia? Let's just say I now understand why it's a popular dish. Cons: Popularity: This place gets packed faster than a lifeboat on the Titanic. Arrive early or be prepared to wait--though the wait is worth it. Décor Enthusiasm: The Polynesian theme is so committed that you might find yourself involuntarily doing the hula. Not necessarily a bad thing, but don't say I didn't warn you. In summary, Tiki Tom's is the perfect spot for when you want to escape reality without the hassle of airport security. Just remember to bring your sense of adventure--and perhaps a lei.
