"Located in North Canterbury just east of Christchurch, this Māori-owned vineyard—whose name draws on the Ngatiuenuku chief Tikitere Mihi—is run by Sue McKean and her partner Royce and plays an active role in the local food-and-wine scene. Though it does not yet have a permanent tasting room, the team stages tastings across New Zealand and internationally (including London) and appears at events such as the North Canterbury Wine and Food Festival. The owners emphasise TUKU collective values of kaitiakitanga (guardianship), whanaungatanga (close connections) and manaakitanga (hospitality), and produce award-winning wines such as a light, refreshing 2022 Pinot Noir Rosé with red apple, apricot, lemon zest and sweet strawberry aromas." - Norman Miller
