"Indian-Mexican fusion isn’t exactly new, but Tikka n Tacos goes beyond wrapping butter chicken in naan. Tucked along a dusty stretch of 19th Avenue in North Phoenix, the restaurant serves tacos on a chewy flatbread that lands somewhere between roti and tortilla — pliable, flaky, and sturdy enough to hold its own. Fillings include clay oven-cooked paneer, jackfruit, lamb, shrimp, and fish, topped with pico-style salsa and shredded lettuce in a cross-cultural nod to both Indian street food and taco shop classics. At $3.50 a taco, they’re priced right in line with the city’s average, even though inventive renditions like this often comes with a premium.
