My 2nd time eating from this place and so far I see myself coming back! Just wow so delicious 🤤 I got the southern curry bowl with lamb and this was a 10! The lamb was so freaking tender the curry was rich in flavor a thick sauce went well with the garlic naan the rice that it came with was also good. They also had different flavored juices that were very refreshing 😌I tried all and settled on the mandarin one, this is a nice location the entire place was clean same with the restroom and the customers service was A1. Oh and they serve a few alcoholic beverages. So I tried to finish my meal but looks like I lost 😂 oh well there’s always next time 😌 great time!

My husband and I absolutely love Tikka Shack! Super cute spot in Vintage Park. The Tikka Masala is amazing and so is the butter chicken. Pleasantly surprised that they had local beer options - they also offer fresh teas/juices as well as soda. A clean and fast option with ample seating and nice decor.

Google
Our favorite restaurant! Clean environment, quick and easy service, such a great variety of things to try (and it’s all good!) great staff (shoutout to Arooba for being kind and welcoming😊!). If you’re looking for a place to get into Indian food, this is the perfect place to go!!

Google
We really love Tikka Shack! There’s a great selection of dishes and the food tastes fantastic. Weekly specials get you an entre, naan, and drink. Plenty to eat. It’s a place we come back to often. Very clean, and upbeat. Nice people.

Google
It was my first time eating here with my boyfriend and the food was delicious! The samosas!? To die for!!! Anika was amazing and she helped me to get enough token to get one of my eeveelotions (don’t judge me lol) this has to be your option each time!

Google
Me and my Girlfriend had Lunch here and were so welcomed and treated with Kindness by the staff. We eat the Tikka Wrap and Coconut curry wings, and boy oh boy it did not disappoint. From the burst of flavor profiles on the meat to sauce. It was such a full filling sensation of a meal. The atmosphere was calm and collected and really allowed us to enjoy with such serenity.

Google
Disappointed to say this Indian fusion restaurant doesn’t seem to cater to South-Asian tastes. Tried a few items — the chicken tikka came in tiny cubes, oily and felt more fried than grilled, with way too much food color. Portions were small too. The chicken tikka taco was somewhat okay — the concept with naan bread had potential, but the naan was half-baked. Liked the idea, just not the execution.

I am staying far away from this restaurant after TWO bad experiences. Ordered Tikka Pizza around 8pm and experienced very severe stomach cramps around midnight. After much discomfort and taking antacid was able to barely avoid a visit to the emergency room. Still feeling it the next day and on path to slow recovery. No more visits from me.

Yelp
This is my first time eating Tikka Shack. I ordered online and picked it up myself. Once I arrived, I added an item to my order and the staff worked quickly to get that item made and served so my original order didn't get cold. The ambience is great, and the service is very good. The tiki masala on medium heat level is excellent.

Yelp
Food looked great, but failed to deliver on so many aspects. Overall tasted bland, causing me to not even finish the food. The naan was okay though, and the overall ambience was nice with very spacious seating.

Yelp
I get by with a little help from my friends; and my friends agreed... the food is good (quality & flavor). This is what I suspected after indulging in Tikka Shack goodies during a recent Yelp Elite event, but I am not an expert on Indian cuisine, so I called in reinforcement. Tikka Shack's menu is organize a in a way that allows the casual diner to learn the dishes by category. I had spinach masala with lamb and naan, while a friend had butter chicken masala. My friend with cultural expertise faked us out by ordering from a different section of the menu (kabab bowl + chicken tikka?). The restaurant has a nice vibe with multiple seating areas indoors and out. The service was good and we enjoyed the bicycle/jitney the men decor.

Yelp
must admit, I have very limited exexperience with Indian food. This was a great introduction! I was worried about the spice level but I was able to handle everything. It was flavorful and comforting. It felt like a warm hug from the inside out.

Yelp
White washed and bland. Would not recommend anyone here. By far the WORST Indian food I've tried. Ordered a meal for 2 special with chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Both were disgusting and tasted like Gerber baby food. There were NO spices in the curry. I was so disappointed looking at how bland my garlic naan was. I refused to eat them. The only saving grace was the samosas. They were decent!

Yelp
Comfortable counter-service venue featuring a reasonable selection of curries, biryanis and other sides. We ate in, and the service was quick and friendly and the food came promptly as well and was hot and fresh. Some of the negatives seen in reviews may relate to doordash/ubereats/etc, as this isn't a style of food that tolerates long delays between preparation and consumption very well. They describe themselves as a place to begin a love for Indian food, and that's pretty accurate; it's not the most extensive or fully authentic menu, but it is tasty and good. Their heat scale tends towards the beginner mild side as well; I had my curry "hot" and while it had a pleasant degree of spiciness, it was more like what I would call medium. If you're new to Indian or spicy food in general, "mild" will certainly be safe for you. Decent selection of canned beers from local brews, a definite plus for me. Located in the VIntage Park shopping/dining/entertainment complex, it is real easy parking and in-out dining.

Yelp
The absolute WORST Indian food I've ever had! We were excited to try this place, and came in on a Saturday for lunch. The place was empty ( bad sign) We ordered samosa chaat street style, the samosa was soggy and overall not fresh. The mango lassi is prepackaged and tasted more like yogurt than fresh mango. Awful! We ordered chicken 64, lamb korma, butter chicken and butter naan. The lamb korma, and butter chicken were so bland and flavorless. The chicken 64 was just ok. This place is horrible and I'm sure they'll be closing their doors soon.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this spot for a bit now and finally had the chance to stop by... even the kids tagged along! The food was good! It was hot, presented nicely, and came out within a reasonable amount of time post ordering. The servings were a bit on the smaller size though - which for the money, left me with pause. I ordered a kabob plate and a side of garlic naan - my kids had the child's version with one selecting a pizza. I was pleasantly surprised they didn't leave asking for too much more - although they still did and we spent about $65 (again not a cheap outing for four). The staff were very attentive, the space was clean and well kept. I loved how they politely ask you to clean up behind yourself with little signs at each table...lol I recommend stopping by & giving it a try if you're in the area! I think it's a welcome addition to The Vintage!

Yelp
Lovely food, I got the spinach masala with lamb and garlic naan. Kind and attentive staff. Clean environment. I will be ordering food from here again!
google avatar

Pree R.

Yelp
This place looked to be relatively new and seemed to have some exciting menu options, but I was however disappointed with the price and quality of food. The meal deal they offer starts off with a base of rice, followed by your pick of veggies, paneer cheese, or meat, and naan if you want for extra. I didn't feel like getting rice, so I asked if I could get the coconut curry with naan instead of rice, and with paneer added in. The curry was very runny, and I thought there would at least be some baseline level of veggies (there was absolutely nothing) with just a handful of paneer cubes. The naan was plain and relatively small...honestly, it was more like pita bread. The meal cost around $13 but I feel like the offering didn't meet the value. Don't think I'd be too excited to return.
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food and will definitely be returning! The butter chicken was creamy and tasty alongside a wonderful garlic Naan. I was also pleasantly surprised with their selection of local canned beers available. It was easy to park and a good place to get in and out fairly quickly on a lunch break!
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
Not sure why this place is getting all the hate, it's clean, fresh and quick. Affordable and a good portion of food for around $12. Chicken Tikka Masala is always a nice meal, very favorable. Grabbed it to go, had it ready in minutes and on my way. Go check it out.
google avatar

Luna Q.

Yelp
Delicious!! My chicken was buttery and spicy, the rice was cooked to perfection. The pizza was just because I was craving naan but omg all the ingredients were a perfect combination, also spicy, just how I like it!

Yelp
In my opinion, and based on our recent experience. Our favorite go-to for quick, mainstream Indian food (not the authentic kind). Been ordering from there for several years now. Taste has been consistent to where we have kept coming back. Most recent order, however, was a disappointment. Methi Malai Curry was too sweet; Southern Curry, which typically has a bit of of a burst of flavor and zip, was watery and tasteless (despite requesting "Hot" while ordering, there was zero taste of chili heat or spice). The Samosas met the mark as usual; however the green Chutney was too watery. The Chicken Tikka Taco was a write-off as well - too sweet due to the mango chunks in it and no other taste to compensate. Overall, disappointing fare this time; don't know if cooks or recipes have changed - ordered via GRUBHUB, who like other food delivery services, jack up menu prices substantially (on certain dishes), in addition to charging delivery fees, etc..a nice bit of padding for themselves IMO and in my experience! The shining light in all this was the excellent response and service from the owner/manager, Sarika, who without question, took my feedback, thanked me for it, and promptly offered to refund the Southern Curry cost without question! Kudos to her! Similarly, as I had ordered via GRUBHUB, I was asked to contact them to secure the refund - again, Angel (?) at GH was superb. No questions asked, promptly refunded the amount of the dish. Great customer-mindedness throughout. Plan to return in anticipation that this experience was an anomaly.

Ty H.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised! I can not speak to the ambiance or service because I ordered delivery, but the food speaks for itself. I ordered the samosas, tacos (1 spicy chicken tikka, 1 shrimp coconut curry), and tandoori chicken pizza. Although not authentic Indian food, it was very flavorful! The one downside (which is why I rated 4 stars, not 5) is that the food was not spicy enough. Next time, I will order extra spicy and see if it has the kick that I expected). The portions are good sized...I have enough for lunch, dinner, and maybe still have some left over. The prices were reasonable. We definitely order again

Yelp
Good Indian spot for the area, and hots the spit if you're craving some. Our favorite was the street style chaat, so refreshing and flavorful. We also really enjoyed the lamb biryani and samosas. The tikka pizza was good but would've been better id we added chicken or paneer. Both desserts were alright at best. Good try!

Josh M.

Yelp
Love this place! Consistently high quality food, friendly service and amazing value (especially on Tuesdays!) So happy this place is in the area because Indian food options were pretty limited before.

Yelp
I had seen this restaurant open after pasing by a few times and finally decided to stop in. This is yet another americanized fast casual Indian place to open up in the Houston area. The last one, Tarka, I didn't like so much. It's just too corporate and not very authentic. I ordered a few dishes and a couple of drink options. I tried the butter masala with chicken, lamb vindaloo (made it spicy 1 level), and kabob bowl. I also added 2 Naan (a garlic, and a Tikka Naan (with cheese)). Their drinks are either Tractor brand fountain drinks (juices and teas only), or bottled drinks, including canned coke products, Mexican cokes and Jarritos, beer, and ethnic bottled juices like lychee, mango and guava purees. The dining room is bright, modern and has all the typical Indian colors. The food comes out and I try the butter masala first. Just based on looks, it looks boring. It also tastes sort of bland but surprisingly has some kick to it. Most butter chickens don't. The lamb vindaloo is better and more complex. It is spicy too but not overwhelming. The kabob bowl took nearly 20 mins to come out. I didn't feel it was worth the wait. Chicken was juicy but just average. They also charged me for 3 naan, but I had only asked for 2. Overall, its okay for the area. I would return and order favorites from my 1st visit, but I prefer the more authentic indian food just across 249.

Yelp
Fantastic place One of the few we look forward to seeing, Friendly and delicious. Never really know what im ordering but it's always good to

Yelp
Tikka shack provided a very clean atmosphere, great customer service with a casual ambiance. The iced teas were very good, but the chai latte and three out of the five dishes were a bit on the bland side. The other two dishes were okay. If I were recommend Tika shack I would suggest the chicken korma the naan-wraps and the street style chaat as you're most flavorful options. Be sure to request extra spice if you like your food spicy.

Yelp
We travelled quite aways to visit this new location, but it was well worth the trip. This concept of an approachable, quick and easy Indian place is a great way to introduce the indoctrinated to the amazing food. The spice can be altered for the faint of heart or for gluttons of punishment. The best of all was the staff. I have the cilantro aversion gene and they helped make sure everything was perfect for me.
google avatar

Samah K.

Yelp
Overall not a bad place! I ordered takeout from here and got the masala fries with chicken and the chicken kabab bowl with rice and mango salad. The chicken in my bowl was good and the fries were good as well. The chicken in my fries was a little dry. Everything else was okay. I like the sauce they served with their food. It's definitely more white washed Indian food so keep that in mind. They didn't give me any chicken when I had ordered it with my fries. Luckily, I checked my order in the parking lot and noticed I was missing the chicken. They were able to rectify the mistake and made my fries correctly. One thing they should advertise is that their meat is HALAL! Overall, the food was okay and I might be back here again in the future.

Yelp
Hair in the 65 We order from here pretty often, hasn't happened before but this is the first time we've ordered this. We live pretty far so unfortunately a return can't be made

Yelp
Love this place great food nice people I always get 1 to go favorite tiki butter madala

Yelp
First of all, the restaurant is in a great location & it's very clean with nice decor. When walk in, you'll see cashier counter where you place your order, get ticket # and wait for the food arrive. I had: Chicken 1) Tikka masala 6/10 the flavor is kind of sweet & not enough spices. 2) the chicken kabob bowl 4/10, chicken & rice are both dry. 3) pizza chicken tikka, my family seems like it most 8/10. Other very obvious fact that all the staffs polite but look miserable. Please give them all good raises, they work hard.
google avatar

Jamal F.

Yelp
The service here was great but the food not so much, I ordered the Tikka wrap with fries and my wife ordered the butter chicken with rice. I got mine extra spice and so did she. Neither one was nowhere near spicy and my wife food was a bit cold. Cool place to try but wouldn't come here again. Looking for something more authentic with better quality.

Yelp
It was Tikka Shack for the win tonight, folks! They're having a soft opening this weekend, so a few of the kinks are still getting worked out (ex: at time of posting, the UberEats menu has the menu items and descriptions scrambled a bit). But they're making up for it with terrific, friendly service and crave-worthy deliciousness. We ordered samosas, butter chicken, Tikka masala, and a kid's "quesadilla". Good flavors all around. I'm assuming the lighter of the two curries we ordered is the butter chicken, and if that's the case, it doesn't resemble a masala in look and taste as it usually does, but seemed more like a korma. Good stuff either way. The naan could be a bit more fluffy, but they do tend to settle when being delivered, so I can't knock them for that (and we would have loved to have eaten in the restaurant, but feeling under the weather so we called it in). The Tikka sauce is straight addictive. This is very friendly, easy, accessible Indian food. If you've got a picky eater, kids in tow, or you're looking to introduce someone to these flavor profiles, Tikka Shack is a great place to do it. Glad we've got a location close by!

Yelp
I was very excited to see this place opening in the old Wacky Mongolian spot in Vintage Park. We tried the Tikka Masala with chicken and the Southern curry with shrimp, in addition to some garlic naan. These 2 curres were a bit disappointing as they did not have the traditional flavors of the Indian dishes. The Tikka masala base was reminiscent of tomato soup. And the Southern curry made me think of shrimp etouffee. They lacked the complexity, depth of flavor and richness that i expected in Indian curries. Next time, I'll try the non curry items to see if I'll have better luck.
google avatar

Macey M.

Yelp
My husband and I tried Tikka Shack last weekend and absolutely loved it! Super cute spot in Vintage Park. The Tikka Masala was amazing and so was the butter chicken. Pleasantly surprised that they had local beer options - such as Klaus Brewing. A clean and fast option, we will definitely be going back!
google avatar

Kristine D.

Yelp
We've passed this place so many times and finally stopped by the other night after the plaza was hosting a Halloween event. It smelled incredible when we walked in. My daughters and I all got the butter masala with chicken and we got regular naan. I ordered it regular and not spicy due to the kids also eating it but I would definitely get it spicy if I was alone and I would do the garlic naan next time! You order at the counter, take your number to your table, and they bring it right out. Everything was fast and really, really good. I will for sure be back as Indian food is a favorite of my family!
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
My go to spot for yummy Indian food. I always order their chicken tikka masala with some garlic nan, if you don't know now you know, get it! You're missing out if you don't! I've also tried their vindaloo also really good, a little more on their spicy side. So, if you're not a fan of spice get the tikka masala! 10/10 would recommended!
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
Mine was a Doordash order, so that somewhat impacted the taste and presentation. I chose this place based on a very favorable experience in AZ. Food: This location was skimpy on proteins and this resulted in a low score of value. Taste was ok, but seemed like the chicken was overcooked. Overall I would try them again if in the area.
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
Yes, just yes! Loveee this restaurant. I mainly order DoorDash or pickup but the tikka chicken is the bees knees and the garlic naan is so delicious! I wish they put more chicken in their portions are kind of lopsided for the price. I always end up with a bunch of leftover rice and nothing to eat it with which is disappointing.
google avatar

Ryan O.

Yelp
Mediocre at best. Was very excited to try this new location. Unfortunately I was very let down by the quality and portion size. I ordered the butter chicken plate and masala fries. The curry was sub-par and have had better curry from a jar. The fries were good fries but the toppings to make them masala fries were very poorly executed. I would not come back to this restaurant
google avatar

Nia S.

Yelp
Food was absolutely YUM! We had it delivered and the food was still hot The only caveat is I think the portions are too small... I will try again though.
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Fantastic and super friendly. This might be my new favorite Vintage spot! This is a cute and quick stop that doesn't skim on the flavor! I also love that they have plant based options to sub out! Def a return spot with a great friendly vibe and awesome prices!

Muuper M.

Yelp
I've ordered here a couple times for delivery, and the food has great flavor but the portion sizes are terrible. I ordered 8 entrees all with an extremely small portion size, and this will not feed my family. I can't speak for the service for dine in, but for takeout this is not acceptable. I love the food, but unfortunately I will not be returning due to the portion sizes.
google avatar

Patti P.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying that I a really love Indian food, especially samosas. So I came by Tikka Shack, and decided to stop. It's a cute place, and spotlessly clean. It's the kind of place where you order at the counter. Since I wasn't that hungry, I decided to order 2 orders of samosas instead of an entree. They looked delicious, and had very good flavor, but they were very greasy. So, my tummy is a bit upset. I would like to return and try the curry. Noticing the mixed reviews here, I think Tikka Shack needs to up their game a bit. Houston is a very competitive market. On a side note, they have biodegradable straws! Too bad they don't offer paper cups, instead of plastic.
google avatar

Sachin N.

Yelp
Tikka Shack is sort of like a modern approach to Indian food, with wraps, appetizers, entree and desserts (of course) all having a different, yet a very familiar base. They all have options to make it hot or extra hot (regular spicy in terms of the core Indian folks, lol) but the extra hot does have a kick to it. The decor is bright and vibrant with a splash of color all around. There's ample seating area with floor to sealing glasses. I've mostly ordered to-go food from this place and I've always been satisfied. I'll be honest, I've mostly sticked to a few dishes and they are all tasty and delicious every time I order. The tikka pizza is fantastic (with multiple options to choose from), the chicken 65 is another great dish to order along with their curries - the tikka masala, butter masala and so on. Every dish has a base with a protein option to choose (chicken/ paneer/veggie/ lamb/ shrimp) and this is a common theme about this restaurant. You won't get the typical menu with 100's of options to choose from, rather the list is concise with options to select for each dish. Now, talking about the taste and the authenticity (if I may), the food doesn't taste like the traditional Indian food, and this can be both good and bad based on how you perceive it. One on hand, it's a modern twist with similar notes extracted from traditional Indian cuisine, on the other, if you're used to the typical 'masala and the spice' that comes along with curry based food, you'd be left wanting.
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
They have one of the best garlic naans I've had. However, the way the food is served is not appealing. It feels like fast food, more to me than an actual restaurant to me. The food is very soupy, but it tastes good. I think it's just the presentation that I don't care for. The place is clean and has plenty of room to sit.
google avatar

Sherman O.

Yelp
This is a great place. The flavors were good not super developed curry flavors, but definitely well worth the price and quantity would definitely be back and would recommend. The staff are friendly and nice. The facilities were clean.
google avatar

Hanna H.

Yelp
I love tikka shack so much, I get nervous to try new Indian places but this place is so delish!! I love going for Tikka Tuesdays! They're always so kind when you go to pickup your food and the restaurant is always clean!!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Trash service and food. Rude person at counter and argued with me about my order when they misheard what I said. Don't go here

Scott L.

Yelp
Wanted something different so we tried this place. Ordering and pickup were super easy and quick. I am by no means an Indian food expert. I have eaten Indian food probably 8 times in my life. Vegetable Cutlets: 5/5 easily. Best item I ordered. They were darker than the website photo showed so I was afraid they were overcooked or would be hard. They were absolutely delicious! Great flavors and super easy to eat, not overcooked at all. I would come back here just for these. Easily one of the best food items I've had in Texas in 2 years. Spicy pepper: 4/5 was curious what this was so we ordered the shrimp spicy pepper. It was shrimp with a stewed like bell peppers, onions, and curry leaves. We chose the house spicy level which is the mildest possible. It was a little spicy but not overpowering at all. The food was flavorful. Southern curry: 4/5 ordered the goat southern curry. It was good. Rice was decent. I prefer my curry a little thicker like Japanese curry but it had a good flavor. Garlic naan: 4/5 pretty good. Strong garlic flavor may not be a favorite for some but I enjoyed it. Shack naan: seemed like it was regular naan but with small amounts of melted cheese. It was actually my favorite naan today. 4.5/5 Overall 4/5: definitely worth a try. It ain't the best but far from the worst.

Yelp
My first impression: Meh I was excited to see this new restaurant as I love me some Indian Food. The establishment is bright and clean. It has a counter-order and then take a seat concept. I tried the Samosas, and some Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan. I ordered the "hot" spice level. Everything had a bit of a sweet flavor which is not to my liking. It was just ok, definitely wouldn't order any of those items again. The Naan was the best thing of the three. If there's a next time I would try the Vindaloo. I may be back but not for sure.

Yelp
For a newbie, to experience Indian Pakistani restaurant, this is the place to check out. Customer service is good; smiling faces, active workers, and they kept to themselves. The tikka wrap was phenomenal. Extremely cheesy with huge pieces of chicken. The dipping sauce that came with it was great. Fries were descent. It got the job done. The paneer pizza was ok. Way too many chopped up tomatoes. Really bland. The decor was very modern and I loved how it didn't smell like a typical Indian restaurant.
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Holy Masala! I love this place, I live in the city of Bellaire and tend to visit Shiv Sagar at least once a week. I work across the street from Tikka Shack and I'm so excited to have some tasty South Asian food near by. I love the modern spin this restaurant has as I feel everyone needs to have some tasty curry at least once. A few favorites for me are obviously the samosas, southern curry (I'm a huge fan of coconut so this was a must) and a classic masala chai. The curry is spicy so it's definitely not for the faint of heart . If you are looking to try something different and packed with flavor this is definitely the place to do so. Additionally if you are vegetarian the cuisine in general is upper veg friendly.

Yelp
Tried this place out this past Saturday for dinner. Place was busy. Restaurant has plenty of seating so we didn't have any issues finding a table. Menu is similar to Tadka Kitchen and Masala Wok (without the Indo Chinese options). It's a casual place where you order at the counter top, and food comes to your table. They had said food would be medium spicy but it was quite mild. Korma came first without the Naan. We were already almost done eating the Korma with rice once the Naan came out late. Suggest them to serve Naan at the same time with the dish. Naan was good but small in size. Paneer wrap's bread was toasted/grilled very well. The pizza was good as well but came last & very late as we were wrapping up, even though it was listed as an appetizer in the menu.

Yelp
Second time eating here. For two you are looking around $12-17 per person. I've tried the souther curry, samosas, and Methi malai. All 3 dishes were amazing!! The souther curry regular is a bit spicy but still worth a try. The Methi malai is buttery with a hint of sweet and spicy. The samosa is a flaky outer shell (like a pie) with potato and other spices inside, it was really good. Para los que hablan Español. Los dos platos son parecidos a un guiso con salsa I especies. muy rico i picosito. Se los recomiendo!
