Tikka Shack Indian Grub

Description of kebab platter says it comes with mango salad naan rice tikka cause. It came with only rice and the kebabs. No naan no salad no sauce!!! Biryani came with 5 yes 5 small bite size pieces of chicken no raita no sauce no egg!!! When I called them they said ok well nothing we can do about it call uber eats. Uber eats is NOT at fault as the bag was sealed! Not even flavorful! Biryani is salty the kebab is decent but needs the sauces and sides

Jan 2026 Back again… because some things deserve repeat visits 😄 Tried the Malai Kofta bowl once more, and honestly, it’s still one of the best items on the menu. Fresh kofta balls swimming in creamy gravy, a generous portion of rice, and a Kerala paratha on the side. Simple, satisfying, and exactly what we needed. July 2025 Tried original curry with veggies but din’t liked it that much. Too much beans in it. Next time will try something else. Veg Biryani is like Masala Curry Rice (khichdi). Taste wise it’s ok but don’t expect it like Biryani. 08.2024 Another update . Please don’t ever try there spicy 65 (Paneer) or else you will hate this restaurant and food. It was just Paneer pieces, no seasoning and lot of (Yes a lot of) RED color 08.2024 Whenever in Lubbock, it’s a fix Same taste of Malai Kofta Bowl, Paneer Pizza and Masala Fries. Thanks for keeping the same taste Another Update 09.2023 I tried Masala fries and Samosa Chat. Both of them are just on point. Portion size is big. In evening visited them again and tried Aalo Sag for the first time. Loved it. Update 02.2023 Even after 6 years, still the Best choice around this area. Simply love there Masala Fries, and Curry Bowls. I like it spicy. 2018 Omg, finally some one did it. I was hoping from long time that some one open an Indian restaurant in Chipotle design and they did it in exact same way. It's a chipotle serving Indian food. I tried Malai Kofta and Shack Nan. Flavors were just perfect. Spices are on mild side which is holding me to give five star, else every thing there is like a rock star. Large parking, modern interior, ultra fast service. Keep it up guys.

The horrible food badly cooked the chicken is uncooked I left my work to eat and I couldn’t anymore I wasted my time

The portion sizes are very small now. Me and my friend went back there after a month, and ordered the exact same lamb biriyani. The portion that came out felt like they had portioned one meal in two boxes. Also I had added an extra sauce which I never received. 17.89+tips for half a bowl (forget about plates, not even a full bowl) of biriyani with four bite sized pieces of lamb. Way to do business! Never coming back.

An authentic Indian jewel hiding in Lubbock! This a great place to get some tasty Indian cuisine. A buddy and I were out looking for something new cuisine. I did a search, and this location popped. We came here and ordered several different things from the menu. Everything was amazing. I have been back three times, and each time it has been delicious.

We ordered food here for my birthday party on 5/16 and picked it up around 5:00pm. The food was hot and fresh when it got to our house, and everything was so delicious! The samosas were wonderful with the refreshing and addictive green dip that comes with them. The garlic naan was delightful with that dip as well! The chicken butter masala melts in your mouth, and the biryani exploded with flavor in every bite. And I can’t forget the masala fries! They were so yummy! Great birthday dinner for sure! We’ll be back.

First time coming really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful and the food is great. It was like a warm hug.

Extremely disappointed tonight. I haven't had Tikka Shack in a couple of years. I ordered it tonight for me and my dad (his first time trying) and it was 2/3 the portion for the masala and naan while being more expensive. I used to order this and have to save half of it for my next meal. My dad was excited to try something new as he's not that adventurous when it comes to food. He was very disappointed with the flavor and the ratio of rice to masala as was I. I definitely won't be back.

Love Tikka Shack, however, learned today it's better to drive through than walk-in to order. They did 3 drive thrus to 1 walk in. Next time will drive thru

Tikka Shack is Indian food for the masses. I prefer to call it "Seriously Okay Indian Food". If you are looking for an authentic Indian food experience, this isn't the place. If you're looking to dip your toes as a first timer, it's a good start. The first thing I noticed here is a lack of some of my personal favorites. No palak (spinach) dishes, no dosa (but plenty of naan), and no mattar (pea curry). I also think pakora would do well here, but alas none of that either. And to finish things off, no lassi. I think it would be a hit! Okay, I'll digress, what does this place have? Masalas, curries, jalfrezi, and korma. Naan, of course, and samosas. Staples of the most popular modern Indian cuisines. There are meat choices, so if you're accustomed to thinking Indian is strictly vegetarian there's nothing to fear here. But if you're looking for beef, you won't find it here. Holy cow, my Texan sentiments are dashed! The food, while not thoroughly an authentic Indian experience by my measure, is objectively good. The flavors are great and the sort of fusion style is unique. This may add further appeal for those hesitant to try. Masala fries and a Tikka pizza built on naan foundations are great examples. If you just want a salad, they have that too. But don't be afraid of samosas; think of them like an Indian egg roll. Prices are on par with similar trendy restaurants. My staff experience has been fine. You order at the counter and then find a table where they'll bring your food to you. It can be a meal at whatever pace you choose.

My food was good and everything. However, I paid 25 dollars and my butter chicken masala came with 3 pieces of chicken? Not sure what I'm paying for the sauce ?

Yes please! Good Indian food. The service is quick and the food flavorful. A must try is any of their naan. My personal favorite is the garlic, but they are all good. The mint chutney is incredibly flavorful!

I love Tikka Shack. It's not quite perfectly authentic Indian food-but it's a good introduction into Indian flavors (and great food,) especially for people that might be a little reluctant to try different cuisines. The menu is straight-forward and not intimidating at all, but, if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask the cashier if you have questions or are unfamiliar with certain dishes, etc, they are helpful and friendly. My only "complaint/suggestion" would be...if you order for pickup, you might have to wait a bit, and check your bag and make sure everything is there before you drive home. I'm not one to drive all the way back to a restaurant for sauce, but they do charge for some of them, so, it is slightly irritating if it doesn't end up I'm your bag. Tikka Shack has turned my family of "timid eaters," on to Indian cuisine. My kids prefer butter chicken with rice and naan, and my fave is southern curry with paneer and naan. Samosa are a crowd-pleaser. Hopefully, in time, we'll convert my husband too! PS-if you become a part of their loyalty program (forgot what they call it) they're generous with coupons and $5 off vouchers, so, it's not a bad idea to sign up.

Tikka masala is so delicious! The masala fries I highly recommend. The service is great and the vibe is nice. You won't be disappointed.

My kids and I went on a long road trip and this page made everyone happy. The food was fresh, the place was clean, there were vegan and vegetarian options, in addition to meat dishes, the staff was friendly, and my youngest was delighted to get pizza. The only thing I'm sad about is that there's no locations near us!

I would like to preface by saying that this place is in no means authentic Indian cuisine, but that doesn't take away from the dish still being amazing! The sauce with the lamb and perfectly cooked rice was everything I wanted. However, the price was a bit steep for the dish. Other than that, the meal was great.

Only have ever visited during lunch time & it's always great! Servers are friendly, Food comes out quickly, and you count on it always tasting the way it's supposed to. Inside ambience is typical of fast food restaurant, but always clean & not super loud so you can still enjoy eating & conversation. Recommended.

Great meal. We had the chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani and a side of fries. It all tasted very fresh, the restaurant appeared clean and inviting. The fries almost had a sweet seasoning which was interesting and good. For places like this, I wish there was like a 4 or 6 or 8 person sampler that offered many small dishes - a little bit of everything. I'd like to try it all!

So my food was great. The staff was nice. My only complaint is that I wish the kitchen paid attention to the order. I ordered paneer tikka masala and added chicken paid for the additional chicken but only got paneer. It's good but I wish I had gotten what I paid for so I'm a little disappointed.

I got the Butter Chicken Masala and it was good and full of flavor however, the rice was a little stale and dry. The service was mediocre at best. Not the friendliest staff and super long wait with no other customers in site. I think they were understaffed so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again.

For a faster food place, I recommend it. The price and portions are great. I don't think it's the most authentic but it's not the least I've had. It is consistent and that is what matters.

there's this employee named colt and he gave me a peanut butter jelly sandwich but the customers didn't like that I was black transgender and autistic but colt was very into skibidi toilet with me luv u colty

Friendly staff, clean restaurant, and decently priced. The food is Indian cuisine. It was fresh, and tasted good. However it's a fast food chain so don't expect the depth of authenticity, and variety that would be found in a family Indian restaurant.

I DoorDashed my order. Last night I tried to submit an order and it was canceled after an hour. Disappointing but I still wanted to try this place as the reviews were so good. DELICIOUS. Only giving 4/5 due to doordash issue last night and it is pricey. I got butter chicken, samosas, extra rice, kids quesadilla and kids chicken kabob. My kids are being picky and claiming it's too spicy but they get like that. It's AMAZING. My younger daughter enjoyed dipping the quesadilla (really seems more like pizza) in the included sauce. Yum! Recommend!

Passing through Lubbock with my family and wanted to eat Filipino food (next door to tikka shack) but it was closed. Tried tikka shack instead and loved everything about it. Customer service A1, food was fire, everything I usually forget to leave reviews, but I couldn't forget tikka shack. 6 out of 5 stars!!

Upbeat Indian restaurant with great food. I will advise anyone with a low spice tolerance (like me) make sure to ask what is and what is not too hot, it can get a bit heated.

Simply put, Lubbock is not the food capital of Texas, but this is a gem! Tikka shack was one of my go-to-restaurants during my time at Texas Tech. I typically get the lamb butter tikka with garlic naan and it is so good. Their lamb is so tender and the butter tikka is the perfect blend of savory and sweet! I've also had their samosas, tikka masala, and their tikka fries. All of which are pretty good!

I usually get the same thing (lamb tikka masala)but it's always great! QUITE a small meat portion unless you go for double, but hey, we all overeat anyway. This time I went for something else and it was so fresh and light but filling!

I picked up my order and opened the bag when I got home... BRUH. If you're going to give me elementary school cafeteria food, at least fill my bowl a little bit. Got three different things and all were extremely bland. Huge let down. The chicken tikka masala tastes literally like campbells tomato soup. Don't believe me? Order it right now and see. I am a very positive person and never leave these reviews, but Damn dude, I got finessed. Worst $33 I've spent in a while.

Absolutely Terrible!! It was expensive with very a small portion size and when I tried the food it was completely bland. Zero flavor... I'm glad I tried it while I was in the parking lot, I returned it for a full refund. He asked if I would like to keep it. I declined the offer.

Great food for a great price. Enjoyed trying something new with my kiddos. We had the Butter Chicken , Masala fries, and the original curry chicken. Naan bread was soft and perfect for dipping in the dishes. Portion sizes are plentiful and the environment is quaint and quiet with a modern look.

If you like garlic cheese naan bread then you are looking in the right spot. Tikka Shack has delicious naan and curry. I would not say it is better than authentic Indian, but I would say it satisfies the craving each time I go. Which is pretty often because their food is fresh and made with love.

Pretty good chicken Masala, garlic Naan, and mango Lassi. It's worth it to get a few pieces of Naan for the Masala. Mango lassi is okay. I like Lassi so any kind of Mango Lassie I get is a good time but this wasn't the best I've ever had. Creamy and 7.8/10 mango flavor.

Will never recommend this place to anyone as a Indian restaurant. It's more of a fusion fast food joint - I feel. The curry I took was literally tomato soup and some under cooked veggies thrown in. My husband took a korma based sauce and that too was not up to the mark. They say Naan (which is not a tandoori naan, but a pita bread) . We stopped here on our way back from Taos, NM. We were excited to try some comfort food after our trip, but was a sheer disappointment ! Stay away.

It's 3.5 really. Was ready to look past the Fast Food style experience in hopes of getting delicious food. The food was just "fine". Far from toe-wiggling delicious. I agree with other reviews that it's not authentic Indian. The staff was friendly though. I'm betting there is far better Indian food with better value for the money somewhere else in Lubbock.

Consistently good food and service. We've tried several dishes, and our favorites are the samosa chaat, spinach curry, and southern curry. I thought the biryani was a little bland, and my husband didn't think much of the tikka masala, but the other dishes more than make up for it. Definitely worth a try!

The food was really good! I got the Tikka Masala which was great. There was a good amount of chicken in it and the rice had good flavor. I do wish they gave more nan instead of only one piece. I would recommend coming to try it out!

Tried Tikka Shack for the first time today. We'd heard lots of good comments from family and friends about this place. I have to admit, they were right. The food was delicious and the service was fast and super friendly (and helpful). I ordered the Tikka wrap and hubby had the Butter Marsala. Both were delicious. We will definitely do this again!

It was OK. Not authentic Indian food. I think i would love have enjoyed the korma and other sauces/curries without the "mixed vegetables" (carrots/peas/green beans... probably the frozen kind you buy at the grocery store). WAY too many carrots. I love Indian food, but felt this was par at best.

The last time I was here was 2017. I've returned 2+ years later, and the food still tastes the same and prices haven't changed. This isn't the best Indian food ever, but it's good enough for a quick fix in Lubbock. The food/drink portions don't justify the price, especially for the mango lassi ($4). I've had 2-3x bigger portions in restaurants of the same atmosphere/vibe and their prices were much less. Mango lassi in another restaurant in Atlanta for 2x the size was less than $4 - and it tasted like real mango lassi, not the watered down stuff here. I feel like they're able to do that because the competition in Lubbock is nonexistent. It's still not bad for Lubbock though. I'd be back, if I have a craving, simply because I like the fast service. Also, the customer service I've had hasn't changed - still friendly people. If you're in the mood (and I mean really in the mood) for some FAST Indian food and you're in town, stop by and give it a try. Just don't be expected to be blown away or even surprised. Think of it like a McDonalds of Indian food, unless you're blown away by McDonalds. In that case, you need to re-evaluate your taste palate.

We were in town for business, friends brought us here for dinner, the food was great and environment was nice as well. I'm usually not a fan of Indian food, but this place changed my mind.

OK-ish for fast Indian food if you have to have a quick fix. They were out of Malai Kofta. We're vegetarian, so that cuts back on our options. We got the Aloo Palak and Paneer 65. Aloo Palak gravy was good, but heavy on the sauce and WAY TOO short on the spinach. The Paneer 65 was tasty, but I would not order that as my entree dish again. Not enough food, unless you fill up on rice. The naan is way overpriced for the small amount you get. The samosas are OK, but the mint chutney is sweet and I do not personally care for sweet sauces, typically. I was just a bit off-put by the fast food atmosphere and the feeling that they assume people in Lubbock won't know what good Indian food is. Mehhhh.

Disgusting. Had a long day on the road and we thought this would be a satisfying meal. We ordered the vindaloo Witt extra chicken and it had maybe an ounce of inedible shredded dark meat and a greasy sauce with undercooked veggies. Repulsive.

The menu is easy to read. Dining area was clean. The bathrooms were clean. The interior decor has a few too many patterns and textures for me (like every wall has a different tile, pattern, and/or color). Ordered the butter chicken and chicken vindaloo. Both were tasty with a lot of sauce, a little too light on the chicken. The chicken vindaloo came with a lot of vegetables. Food came out quickly. Will have to come back again.
