Order before sitting down is always a turn-off, but we wanted to give them a try. Service is minimal since it is all done at the counter. The atmosphere is very pleasant. It promotes friendliness. And it’s extremely clean. Now, let’s talk about the food. It is quite good, but the natural heat from Indian spices comes front and center. I had chicken kabobs while my partner had Biryani ricebowl with samosa vegetables. Both had basmati rice.

I have been to Tikka Shack before when I worked closer to the area. They have consistently delicious tikka masala and curry. This was the first time I tried their tandoori chicken pizza and masala fries, and I have to say they’re my new favorites! The masala fries were seriously addicting, even though I don’t usually enjoy loaded fries. Everything is so full of flavor.

Service was excellent n clean place but I don't know how they are making so many branches just feeding people with same gravy base of butter chicken

Tasty indian food with a Moe's/Chipotle atmosphere. The service is excellent, given that there are not really any waitstaff. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table when ready, served in disposable plates. Fetch your own silverware, etc. Clean your own table. The portions, as is often the case at Indian restaurants, are not large and the pricing is typically not-very-low. Coupled with the general inflation of recent years, you might have a slight case of sticker shock. I ordered vindaloo, usually the most intense flavoring, but didn't specify a "heat" level. The first bite was tangy but by no means hot. I was acclimated by the second mouthful and the underlying flavors came thru. Tasty but not exceptional. The "Shack naan" was good. I've never had cheese on my naan and, while unusual, it was a good combination. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained.

Good authentic Indian food for a very reasonable price, $15 or so for a full meal, come on Tikka Tuesday! You get a meal, a drink and a naan bread for base price $11. The southern curry is fairly spicy and the hot and extra hot versions should be cautioned if you can’t handle spice! Butter chicken should be taken hot to not have it be incredibly mild in flavour. Service is usually good. Treat it like fast food Indian, so don’t come in expecting top service or atmosphere 7/10, and I’m being generous because my friends are in love with this shop.

Dine in or take out options available. Order at the register just inside the entry way, then find a table and wait for the food to be served. The restaurant was so free on a Friday evening. Felt overly hyped and outlandishly pricey with small portions. Not the best of places, they have some fancy menu but not much of flavor. I'm a bit torn about this place, not what I was expecting after reading the reviews. For the price payed, expected large portions and little bit of flavor. The service was underwhelming and we were disappointed. Not an option for a quick meal, they take forever. Good parking space and stroller accessible

We enjoyed a quick dinner at Tikka Shack while spending some time in Mechanicsburg. The interior of the restaurant is trendy and comfortable with lively popular music playing. We had a Spinach Masala with Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, and a Chicken Curry. All had just the right spice and were the proper portion size for quick service and no leftovers. The peanut butter and chocolate cake tasted off, like maybe it sat too long and developed a stale taste, but we didn't stop for cake, so I was not extremely disappointed and that was the only negative. If you want quick indian food, this is a great stop.

Went to Tikla Shack for my monthly work team lunch. I am not usually a big fan of Indian food. I studied the menu in advance and was ready to order. The restaurant itself is a cool spot, well lit, with a wide open dining room and refillable beverage station. I had the kabob bowl with tikla chicken. The two skewers of chicken were flavorful without being overpowered by spices. They came with Basmati rice and a salad topped with mango dressing. It came with a cup of Tikka sauce. I wasn't sure that I was going to.like it but I really did. And the tikka naan- with garlic and cheese- was absolutely amazing. My coworkers all enjoyed their meals.

Two word - Tikka Tuesday. The food is consistently good and the service is friendly and fast. It is a fast casual setting but even for novices the special keeps it affordable to learn the cuisine. Go for the chicken Tikka Masala and the tandoor spiced chicken wings. The naan pizzas look great too. Top wit off with a mango lassi for a sweet ending! It ain't fancy but it's a great convenient introduction to a great food culture.

Chain restaurant with relatively fast food. The food is very good and consistent, but this is not a typical Indian restaurant. The menu is limited but offers a great variety including a devel into pizza Indian style. Portions are limited so not competing with other local Indian restaurants where a doggie bag is often an option. I have eaten here many times and the experience has always been good. Obviously beyond good but 4.4 not great if we are to be hones with these rankings.

We ate at Tikka Shack two days in a row and had great meals both days. The service was friendly, the Shack was clean and mostly comfortable (today, the music seemed too loud), and the drink choices -- the watermelon-mint especially were terrific. Tuesday has a special of a drink, Naan, and a rice and curry option. We had this yesterday and it seemed a good deal for $11. A similar meal today except for garlic Naan, rang up just over $19 which seemed too high by several dollars. Nonetheless, the food was great, was ready quickly, and I'm sure we'll be back. Please turn down the music -- we could barely hear each other speaking.

All the food is wonderful. We drive quite far to eat here. Their tikka masala sauce used to be amazing but they changed the recipe (corporate decision) It is still good but not AS good. Be very careful when ordering online. Make sure you quadruple check everything before hitting pay! We've had several problems. One was where the order was double ordered. We got one order and they tried charging for the double order of more than 80! But other than that it's great:) Only thing we didn't like was the fries. It is a mushy mess

I had the impression that we walked inside a fast food restaurant instead of the typical restaurant we go into when we're having some cravings for masala. Since it's our first time going in there, and wont go back anytime soon, it took a moment for us to figure out what we wanted to try. The flavor is not bad. Not the best but not the worst. My husband and I like our food spicy so we asked for the most spicy they can make. It wasn't as spicy as expected. We're pretty much exposed to various regional Indian and Nepal dishes run mostly by mom and pop places so there is that. I've had better naan that are homemade. The garlic Naan they have is nothing to rave about. Butter chicken is okay, so is the masala, again, nothing to rave about. My husband was still hungry so we ordered for another Tikka Habanero wing, it wasn't because it was the best habanero wing he ever had, it was because the portions are so small. If you expect value for your money, the portions are small compared to what you paid for. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and when it comes to food, taste and flavor ultimately depend on an individual's preference. There are other great Indian and Nepal places along Derry and Progress Avenues , both in Harrisburg, or Linglestown. Serving portions are definitely worth your hard earned money.

Small portions, naan more like pita bread, didn't taste very fresh. Definitely not worth the price.

Whenever I'm craving an indowestern meal, I come here for the paneer tikka pizza and masala fries. The food is spicy, and their levels are definitely reflective of it. The paneer tikka pizza has soft paneer on it was a delicious tikka sauce and fresh tomato cilantro and onion on it. The masala fries are also tasty. They deliver and can take pick up orders. Their inside seating is also really cute with a large wall of greenery with a "Tikka Shack" sign up, the ambiancr is nice!

Came in for lunch on Monday. I got a Vindaloo Curry with rice and garlic naan bread, which was excellent. It could've used a bit more peppers, but it was still tasty. My girlfriend got a kabob tikki combo, which had a salad with mango chunks that she really liked. We also got a mango lassi, that was creamy and delicious. Good service, and the restaurant was clean and bright on the inside. The only knock that I can give is the price, which was a bit high. That said, I will definitely return.

First time going to this place and the place was amazing. Tried the butter chicken and rice and it was delicious. Service was very good and the order came very fast. The inside itself was super clean and the tables and chairs were really fitting.

Looking for good menu options and tasty Indian? Well consider Tikka Shack. Flavor is great, with in mind that it was ordered for delivery - the food was still great quality! 4/5 because I like more protein in my curry compared to the amount of sauce and the Chicken 65 was more greens than chicken. Overall, yummy though I prefer a tad more spice (I'll make note of that in future orders) it satisfied my craving for Indian food! My friend's son loved his Naan Chicken Quesadilla and she loved her Butter Masala. Recommend getting rice & naan because it is a saucey curry! Would recommend and will order from Tikka Shack again!

Think twice about spending your hard earned money at this location. Mediocre food, filthy bathrooms, very poor customer service. Refused a reward redemption of naan on Tikka Tuesday. I've used my accumulated points on Tuesdays many times without a problem, no sign stating a change in policy. The very rude cashier had me run my card twice (she claimed 1st didn't go through) which doubled the amount of transaction, no receipt was given. Second charge finally dropped off my account the following day. When I attempted to call and speak with manager/owner about these issues, was hung up on. Twice. Corporate office doesn't respond to messages through their website contact page. Too many other great spots in the area that value their customers, than to go to this 'restaurant'.

The food is excellent. Taste and quantity of food is great. The atmosphere is modern decor with India flare. This is not a fast food restaurant. Things are made fresh, so you will wait a bit longer, and the cost was higher than anticipated, but it was worth it. Service was friendly and it was my first time there, so they explained the menu to me. Will definitely go again.

Fast and friendly service, delicious food. I am not sure what else you can ask for. We were traveling through PA and saw this place on the map. Of course we love Indian. The place is kind of like chipotle, but not really. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you or you can take it to go. My plan was only to eat part of my meal since we were having a late lunch. That didn't happen since the food was so good! Definitely give it a try if you like Indian food.

Have frequented Tikka Shack a number of times since I've discovered it - great food, modern yet relaxed atmosphere. My favorite go-to dish is their Butter Chicken Masala - relatively mild, but with a little 'heat' and excellent flavor. Service is always good - not 'fast food' but my orders always arrive quickly. There is a self-serve soda machine, as well as bottled drinks - I recommend their Manso Lasssi. Also enjoy their naan - you can't go wrong here ..definitely worth visiting!

Ordering online a breeze (easy). Picked up at 6:30 -- place was busy. Took food back: chicken tikka masala utterly delicious, luscious sauce (could've used a bit more rice), came with a small naan; also ordered veggie jalfrezi: wanted regular spice, got spicier, but very good. Delicious food, good value. Measures up to Indian food I've eaten elsewhere (NY, LA, Atlanta, Nashville). Highly recommended.

We have visited Tikka Shack several times in the last year for both eat in and take out. We have always been satisfied. The portion sizes are good and the food is reasonably priced. The garlic naan is outstanding! For take out you can order online and schedule pick up. Our orders have always been done on time. If you eat in the dining area is clean and modern. It is a typical fast casual type atmosphere. Orders are brought to you table promptly and the staff has always been friendly. I recommend the Butter Paneer with Jasmin rice. My husband recommends the Chicken Vindaloo, if you like spicy! Again, you have to try the garlic naan! It is really out of the world.

This place is good, but I feel it doesn't taste authentic Indian food. The butter chicken is good but was not spicy enough for me. The mango lassi they have here is definitely worth getting though! The service is pretty good too, they're nice and pretty fast. The restaurant itself is super cute and has a lot of cute spots for picture taking!

Sadly, as a longterm customer I will never patronize Tikka Shark again. Seems they had a "system update" that changed the terms of coupons and make you buy more items. So looooong Tikka Shark !!

Tikka Shack was the very first fast-casual Indian restaurant I've been to. I'm not surprised that it's franchised, but I feel a bit privileged when I found out this is only the 4th location and the only one in PA (the other 3 are in TX and AZ). This could be the beginning of something big. Everything about Tikka Shack feels "corporately blessed" - from the name, menu, to interior design and operation, all appear to have been professionally vetted. The ambiance is trendy, clean, and inviting. For me anyway, the menu choices are straight forward. They try to model after "build-your-own" a la Chipotle, poke bowls, and playa bowls, but it really boils down to just "what kind of curry" and "what kind of protein." Not counting appetizers and vegetarian, I am pretty much left with just curry, biryani, and kabob to choose from. On this first visit we ordered one of each, with mixed results. The Tikka Masala Curry with Chicken was underwhelming in every way: portion size, taste, and the meager amount of protein. The Chicken Biryani with spicy option was excellent as one of my favorites, but the star of the meal tonight was the Chicken Tikka Kabob Bowl. The dish looked really appealing, showcasing color palette from Basmati rice, sticks of kabob, garden salad and mango; the included naan was icing on the cake. The best value dish. Highly recommended. Service was excellent. The person taking orders was very friendly. We actually ordered online for later pickup, but the dishes were made more than an hour ago because the pickup time wasn't printed for the kitchen. She was kind to remake the dishes for us. Oh, she said the "dish was made with love". I didn't buy that but at least that's a good motto to have. Overall a good first impression and a solid 4. TIP: Don't forget to add the "spicy" option. It makes a big difference. TIP: Be aware online orders are $2.00 - $2.50 more!

The young girl who helped me figure out what to order was lovely. The food was delicious. I was hoping for more flavor in the rice my kebabs were on. The chicken kebab was great, the lamb was good. I'd order here again for sure! Yes there's a wait, but the food tastes fresh.

WOW! If you are in for some good Indian cusine fast, this is the place to go. Tikka Shack is a nice clean Indian restaurant in Mechanicsburg PA that is serving up some really good and fast indian food. Ordering is easy, they bring the food out to you and give you a lot for the price. The restaurant itself is very clean and the servicers are so nice. You can have your food spicy or mild. The food is fresh and they have varieties of drinks. I highly recommend if you're ever in the area. Happy Yelping.

I placed a phone order for the Tikka Tuesday Special which includes Chicken Masala, Naan and Soda for $8. My husband also ordered the Tikka Tuesday special . When we brought the orders home , I noticed that I didn't have any chicken in my order but my husband had plenty of chicken in his order. I tried to call the restaurant to let them know that I might have gotten the vegetarian by mistake but no one answered the phone. Next day, I called the restaurant and the manager quickly apologized and gave me an "on-the-house" order to rectify the mistake. Tikka Shack already offers great food at decent prices. I was impressed with the great customer service they provided to correct the mistake.

Swing and a miss. Ordered the southern curry (veggie), chicken 65, and garlic naan. The curry was too spicy for my wife to eat despite not-asking for any spice-level upgrade. There was an entire chili and bay leaf in it though, not sure if that's the norm. Maybe I just got the bottom of the barrel. I like spice but didn't care for the dish at all. And the "veggie" option seems to mean you get a tablespoon of peas and/or carrots. The main flavor of the chicken 65 was salt. Then, a kind of burnt/charred flavor. Hopefully neither is intentional. They didn't skimp on the spring mix garnish, thank god (sarcasm). The garlic naan smelled great on the drive home, but wasn't as good as "real" naan from any other Indian spot. Maybe this is like a Taco Bell for Indian food and I just missed the memo. Could have cut out the middle man and thrown $30 in the trash.

Everytime we come to Mechacisburg, we truly enjoy the food at Tikka Shack. Foo is unique, very delicious, fresh and authentic. service is great and they are extremely welcoming. also, ambience is very nice to dine in.

My go to when I want comfort food. I love a little spice but my sister thought regular was too spicy.

Just...don't. If you want anything near authentic Indian food, this is NOT the place. We got naan, chicken Biriyani, and the chicken tikka burrito thing with a mango salad on the side. Everything was blehhhhhh. The chicken tikka sauce that came with it is just SO tomato-y, I thought they dumped a jar of la Madeline's tomato basil soup in there and called it some tikka sauce. The biriyani has four pieces of boneless chicken and had a tiny bit of flavor with the spring onions, but it was pretty damn bland. The sauce that cake with it was disgusting and the raita (yogurt) was just not good. They added carrots to their raita. The naan is the only redeemable quality...sorta. It's as thin as a tortilla and looks like it, but the texture is still a naan texture. But naan should be more fluffy and much bigger than the tiny tortilla looking thing we got. I'm so mad we came here because we were road tripping and hungry for some food and saw the almost 5 stars. What a disappointment. Everything was so westernized and I'm sad they didn't retain the true indian flavor

Clean, modern, minimalist setting. Good to just grab something quick to eat when you have the need for some food with a little "spicy" character. Portion size and cost was average for Indian Food. They have most of the Indian main stays here, but you only get one style/selection with each coarse. I prefer a good Indian lunch buffet for variety, but that takes a little more time.

Loved everything about it. Decor, friendly staff and the food was sooo good. Need to have some Tikka Shacks in VA.

AMAZING FOOD. We got the korma masala and the Southern curry. SO rich in flavor, packs a punch (we got the "hot" option and it was spicey for sure which was great). We also got a side of garlic naan that was super fresh garlicky. Best naan I've ever had. If I lived near here I would 1000% come here all the time. The customer service was also amazing. The cashier explained the menu to us and we talked to her a bit about the establishment. The owners happened to be eating with their families in the restaurant and she had so much praise to say about them. I don't usually include service in my reviews but I appreciate small business owners who treat their employees well and pour their hearts into their product. Thanks for making such a great food experience!

Have visited Tikka Shack couple of times, since it's opening. Modern and clean interiors. Even though some friends had said that parking spots are less, I didn't have any issues. Most of the tables were occupied during my visits. Ordering system is easy. The people taking the order were patient, while everyone goes through the choices trying to make up their mind. My favorite is masala fries. I also liked the Chicken Tikka Masala. I didn't like Chicken 65 - way too spicy for me. Agreed, this dish is supposed to be spicy, but not to the level that it numbs your taste buds. Love the concept of fast food style indian food. Will definitely continue to visit.

Nice new addition to the restaurant scene along the Pike! We stopped by the Tikka Shack for dinner and were very pleased with our visit. We were greeted by the manager/own and explained how the menu works and also provided with several recommendations. The format is similar to the various, "build your own" restaurants that have been popping up in the area, except this is focused on Indian food, where you "craft your curry". You can select your base, protein, and curry style to build your entrée. There are also "favorites" on the menu that one can select if they do not wish to create their own. Additionally, there are several "fusion" items offered such as tikka fries and tikka pizza. We sampled the butter chicken (menu item) and a craft your own curry dish (goan vindaloo). Both dishes were very flavorful and seasoned nicely. I was impressed with the large portion size for the price. The naan bread and tikka fries were also very good. This type of "quick-serve" Indian food is much appreciated and more cost effective than several other sit-down restaurants in the area. Throughout our visit the manager checked on us several times and spot checked the restaurant to maintain its cleanliness. We will definitely visit again in the future.

Tikka Kabobs. Excellent and very tasty served with a fresh mango lassi. A little Nan bread is a must.

Very cool restaurant. I'd describe it as the Chipotle of Indian cuisine. I believe the concept will help bring in people who would not normally eat Indian food. I ordered two apps. The shrimp 65 and pepper paneer. I asked for a medium heat level. I'd rate the heat level at about a 7/10. I was able to eat it, but mildly hotter than anticipated. I enjoyed both dishes. They are also open on Mondays which most mom and pop Indian restaurants are not. I'd definitely return.

The restaurant has a great ambiance and the ordering method is the same as Panera minus the tablets. You walk up to the register, order your food, pay, they hand you a number plate, you find a seat, and they bring the food out to you. The staff is incredibly friendly and the owner/manager came up to us at the end of our meal to make sure everything went well. Now the food. Masala Fries: Must get! These fries came out piping hot and the taste was far beyond what either my friend or I expected. Butter Masala + Chicken with Garlic Naan: The naan was disappointing in texture and taste but the curry was very rich and creamy, just the way I like it. Tikka Wrap with Spicy Chicken: The real winner!! The wrap was made of perfectly cooked naan bread and filled with mozzarella cheese, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and the spicy chicken tikkas. The flavors blended perfectly and dipping the wrap in the side of Tikka sauce made it pop even more. Pros: Ambiance Friendly staff Butter Masala + Chicken curry was pretty good Masala Fries exceed expectations Tikka Wrap with Spicy Chicken is a MUST GET Cons: The side of naan needs work (a lot of work!) Need to come up with better sides for the wrap - the mango salad is garbage because they use canned mango - why would anyone get rice with a wrap? - Suggestion: A small portion of Masala Fries

Hi- I came to dine in and waiting for my food. Irrespective, you should check the price dear... you are charging the client $3.25 for a bottled water...??? Really????A place like SFO or downtown would offer water less than $3.25...what's going on here... Rethink on your prices mate! Overpriced....
