Where to Down a Strong Hurricane in D.C. | Eater DC

"The Hurricane at Peal Dive Oyster Palace’s eccentric upstairs bar whirls passion fruit, orange, lime, and aged Bacardi and Real McCoy rums ($14). Black Restaurant Group’s Logan Circle festivities include a Mardi Gras drag brunch on Sunday, February 27, Service Bar pop-up on Monday, February 28, and Fat Tuesday party." - Stephanie Carter

For a bar with a "Pinball Like Feel", there are few actual references to Pinball... First of all, how can you have a Pinball Themed Bar without PINBALL MACHINES!?!?! I know it's a small space but, come on. Second, none of the Food or Drink Items have names that utilize Pinball Terms. House Ball Margarita anyone? Lastly, the decor is more akin to Player's Club's 70's romper room aesthetic than a Pinball Bar. It was truly awful to see a number of beautiful, historic backglasses be destroyed for an visually uneven bar top. By cutting up the backglass into parts, its hard to gauge its original appearance. To me, it came off as shallow, inauthentic and destructive. If you're looking for a cool colorful bar to grab a drink, Tilt is definitely is good place to go to. But if you're looking for an authentic Pinball Bar where you can play and hang out, look elsewhere.

We hosted our Wedding Welcome Party at Tilt Side Bar and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Tammy, the event manager, was so easy to work with and helped us build a great menu for our guests. The bartenders handled our group of 50 with ease and the drinks did not stay empty for long! Truly cannot recommend Tilt and the Pearl Dive team more for a private event!

I honestly really enjoyed dinner here . It was great customer service , and we were able to put in an order even though the kitchen was about to close . The food was amazing , and if you don’t eat pork like me , they have alternative options . The alcoholic beverages were made with greatness in mind . This place was very affordable.

Garbage bar. If you buy a drink in the front bar, they won't let you bring the drink into the back bar, even though it's literally the same establishment. It's just a scam to force you to buy more drinks. Not cool.

Reminds me of trendy speakeasies up in NYC. Cocktails made the right way too. Fresh fruit garnishes ready at hand, shaken cocktails strained, sphere ice cubes for on the rocks drinks. The quirky decor photographs well with the nostalgia filter. The well lit bar/restaurant on the bottom floor hosts chill conversation/catching up nights with close friends well. The upper floor of course caters to the party/dancing DC night life. Wander off further to the back and you find yourself a nice gameroom-esque surprise.

Cool space but very rude staff. They tried to clear our table multiple times and we were still ordering drinks. Not worth going to.

Great meet up, afterwork, or even first date spot. Good music, great drinks and food, lively environment. If you're head for the 14th and U St. scene, make it your first stop.

Great decor and seating, the playlist was fun and would make anyone want to get up and dance, and the cocktails were on point. This is a hidden gem of the DC bar scene.
