Time Out Market Porto

Great location and lively atmosphere. This is a upmarket food court and prices start from 15-20 euros for mains. There is free wifi and very clean toilets. The food is good but pricey compare to other local restaurants. Lots of seating inside and out. Definitely a visit if you are in Porto. Sit on the upper levels if you like trains, from here you can watch them depart the station.

Seafood rice was spectacular. Seafood is super fresh and they are extremely generous with the portions. Only €16.5 too, super reasonable for the quality and quantity. Would definitely come back! Credit card only fyi.

Great, diverse-choices gourmet market with easily accessed food stalls each offering different kinds of well prepared, nicely presented delicious food, from seafood, meats and pasta, to pasta, pizza, burgers and desserts and vegetarian choices too. Very convenient, adjacent to the São Bento train station . lots of easy to get seating, more accessible space and choices than the larger Time Out in Lisbon. If you want to try some wonderful Portuguese seafood, like fried sardines, grilled octopus, cod a dozen ways or rice with seafood, this is a great sampling plsce--or eat mire familiar non-seafood.

We ordered the fried sardines, seafood rice, and grilled octopus. We especially enjoyed the seafood rice, and the octopus was good as well, though it would have been even better with a little less oil. We visited at 7pm on Saturday, 20 December 2025. The place was already quite full, but we were lucky to get a table right away without waiting. The location is excellent — it’s right next to Porto São Bento train station, making it a convenient choice if you’re taking CP trains. Overall, a solid and convenient option for a meal in the area.

This is Porto's time out market (similar but smaller than the one in Lisbon) and is located right next to the Sao Bento station. There are two stories here where the food stalls are located and toilets are on the 1st floor. The outside of part of the market has folks with handicrafts and other souvenirs. Good places to grab a meal like the locals do. Prices are reasonable and produce appears to be fresh. Pretty crowded so getting a table can be a challenge.... But a good sign of whether a place is worth trying is the footfall and that was definitely quite high here .... Unfortunately I can't remember the names of the places we ordered from but there was one that was fully vegetarian (we had eaten out fill of meat for the day earlier) which served several middle eastern items and there was this other italian one that served the brilliant chocolate truffle in my other photo. This place likely merits a spot on your Porto gastronomic tour.... Ideally right before or after a trip to the Sao Bento station, for convenience if going a day trip to Braga or Guimarães

I had a lovely time here as it wasn’t too packed when I came. Maybe it was because of the rain so not many people were out but it felt very spacious and there were many places to sit. I ate at Takotai and the sushi was delicious, good quality and very fresh fish!

Perfect for a quick dinner. We went on the day we were tired after Douro valley tour. I had the seafood rice which was above my expectations, the fish soup was very good too. We tried the coffee shop there as well one day which was amazing. Good quality, fast paced, a lot of options. There was a bingo night too for free offering free prizes.

It’s an amazing place to try out local, high quality restaurants around Porto in a more casual, friendly setting. It’s attached to a main train station at the center of the city so it’s hard to miss. My personal favourite restaurant served traditional Portuguese food with grilled octopus and fried shrimp balls. The shrimp balls were a bit salty but it balanced out the oily octopus quite well. The price was reasonable for what I got and there are tons of other restaurants that I didn’t get a chance to try.
