Detroit’s most foolproof, zero-proof cocktails | Eater Detroit

"Covered floor to ceiling in floral wallpaper and pastel-colored booths, Time Will Tell brings liveliness to your neighborhood watering hole. While there is no shortage of boozy drinks on the menu, three of them can be made NA with the six different spirit-free liquor options they provide. Two-ounce neat pours can also be ordered, with Spiritless Kentucky 74 and Jalisco 55 as popular alternatives to bourbon and tequila. In addition to its inclusive bar offerings, Time Will Tell hosts cocktail classes, with the most recent course centering around NA beverages." - Serena Maria Daniels

Where to Order Manhattans in Detroit This February | Eater

"Time Will Tell is the most recently opened Detroit bar from the esteemed Detroit Optimist Society team, which operates beloved Detroit bars like Sugar House, Mutiny Tiki Bar, and Bad Luck Bar. Located in the city’s trendy Milwaukee Junction neighborhood, this intimate cocktail den has the retro chic charm of a decades-old watering hole – right down to the salvaged mirrored back bar from 7 Brothers Bar in Hamtramck – with all the refinement of a thoughtfully designed, distinctive concept. Time will tell (get it?) what kind of Angel’s Envy Manhattan this designer “dive” will be serving for February, but with bar pedigree like this, it will no doubt surprise and delight – much like the place itself." - Vox Creative

Good spot if you’re in the area, service can be a bit slow and can get a bit stuffy but great late night stop and creative cocktail menu.

Google
This is now one of my favorite cocktail bars. The decor is so pretty and hip, the music was vibey, and the bartender was absolutely fantastic. I'd go back just for him! They have the most interesting cocktail menu and a few snacks; I'd try anything they're mixing up. They have a great happy hour with $9 drinks, and I got the dirty martini which was the best martini I've had since my wasp east coast family made me theirs, and that's saying something. So clean and smooth; the most perfect martini anywhere. I also had one of their specialty cocktails - the peace frog - and it was divine. I look forward to having that one again before the menu changes. I also tried my friend's whiskey drinks, and they were both perfect. So balanced with lovely flavor and nothing was too sweet at all. Just right. They also have a jukebox, and who doesn't love that? I'd love to see what it's like a little later into the night or on a weekend; it was very chill for happy hour. Love it here. Highly recommend.

Good handout place and handful choice of cocktails and drink snacks. Service was excellent.. has a unique touch on how they bring in your check.

Discovered this gem of a bar while in the area because of the sign out front. Stopped in during happy hour which if I recall is Monday through Thursday 4-7pm. The drinks were amazing craft cocktails with a load of flavor in each. I got the TWT Marg and my wife got the Bramble. Highly recommend both of those. The aesthetic is really neat in the bar and the service was outstanding. I rarely write reviews but this one deserves it, couldn't recommend enough!

Google
Time Will Tell is a fun craft cocktail bar right on Woodward in Detroits New Center area. They offer a wide variety of cocktail drinks as well as champagne velvet canned beer with a shot for the low price of $6, aka the Detroiter special. They also have a fun and free classic jukebox with a good variety of music.

The cocktails are always great. I always have a good time going there. However, I have a friend who told me that the staff was not really nice to her and am she wouldn’t be coming back. It’s a shame, I like the place and always recommend it. You usually spend 12-15 per drink.

Google
They posted some Shrek themed cocktails on instagram so I stopped in after the show to get a drink. This place is so cute and cozy inside and very bright. I really like the bistro style set up. I had the Blue Flower, Red Thorns and was a bit sad they didn’t have the full syrup would have liked to try it how it was originally created but gives me a reason to go back!

I recently visited “Time Will Tell,” and it was a fantastic experience. The bartender was not only knowledgeable but also cool to chat with. The drinks were absolutely badass, and the atmosphere exuded a classic and nice vibe. A must-visit for a great time!

Yelp
Cozy bar with delicious cocktails and excellent service. Cool vibe. I enjoyed my 3 cocktails: French exit, Maizing Breakfast, and 8 foot bunch. French exit had too strong of a taste with the malted coffee syrup. That's all I really tasted. Maizing breakfast was really special and unique, and 8 foot bunch was a lovely explosion of flavor. It even had a dried pineapple piece on top and it was tasty. I loved these two drinks. My friend loved her Peace Frog and Cut the Chase cocktails and I tried both and they were lovely and crisp. My friend loved the whitefish dip. It was a little strong for me because it was straight whitefish. I really enjoyed the peanuts. I appreciate that they offer snacks. Easy metered street parking right out front. The Q Line has a stop nearby too. Lovely evening!

Yelp
Came in from out of town for work. Bartender, but more specifically a cocktail artist Zack, is absolutely amazing. He's got a vision and taste for innovative drink making. It's quite phenomenal. He was very attentive to what my taste preferences were. I was equally open to his artistic mastery when it came to cocktail making. I have zero complaints and this is a must-visit for both locals and folks from out of town like myself! If you're lucky enough to walk in on a night when Zack is working, the guy is masterful! Highly, highly recommend!!!

Yelp
This bar came highly recommended and now I know why. Easy street parking. Eclectic interior. Stellar service. Very well mixed drinks. These bartenders know their stuff. You can order off the menu or get a riff on a classic. We sat at the bar early on a weekend. There was another couple that weren't from the area. Several other groups came in during our short stay. The space is intimate. Service is great. Drinks are spot on. Looking forward to the next visit.

Yelp
Had a really fun time here getting some after work drinks with my group. The ambience was super cozy, I think comfortably seats about 40-50 people. They had a great playlist going and the place was all decked out for Halloween. The drinks were amazing. I got the Queen of Sheba which was a creamy pistachio gin drink that reminded the table of a thin mint. I also got the Cut the Chase which was a nice bright milk washed bourbon. Would definitely come back for more pre dinner drinks

Yelp
This is such a cute cocktail bar. I went for the first time yesterday, and impressed with the service and loved my cocktail. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Time Will Tell is a cozy New Center bar now open 7 days a week! I most recently was in for a candles and cocktails class in partnership with Detroit Rose. I love the vintage awning and jukebox that greet you when you walk in the door. The cocktails are expertly crafted and curated but if you are feeling something different, you can always get the beer and a shot for something down and dirty.

Yelp
Very accommodating bartender. She changed the drink to cater to my taste. Fun ambiance.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place by accident. Very small and cozy place. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were excellent and yummy. I'm only giving this place 4 stars because I felt that half of the place was left undecorated and needed a bit of personal touch similar to the front of the place. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Nice vibe and decorum. The service was on point. I definitely think they should expand their menu-- its drinks only. So if you are hungry, I would definitely advise you to start somewhere else. The bartender is skilled and cocktails were excellent. I would definitely come back again. Also the location is perfect -- mad parking in the area.

Yelp
Cool vibe for sure. Like that it's off the beaten path. Good variety of cocktails. Does it set itself apart from other hip, cool bars in the D..... maybe not so much. One big benefit is a tram stop right in front, so you can bar/restaurant hop down Woodward with ease. Also easy parking, so maybe start at TWT and make your way down the road. Another cool thing about location is that Supino's pizza is across the street. So TWT is a good one drink start, then hit up pizza. TWT doesn't serve food and no outside food is allowed.

Yelp
The location cracks me up as it's located between White Castle and Huntington Bank, once you enter the bar, you are transported to a comfortable, fun bar. The service was excellent and we happened to come during Happy Hour yay! Tues-Fri 5-7pm. The Margarita was delicious and the Martini was strong with 3 green olives. The bar filled up with several couples and it was a pleasant atmosphere. We had a good time here and could've stayed longer, definitely a great addition to Detroit's New Center area.

Yelp
Great vibe in this little bar in an unsuspecting location. On Woodward in New Center, the area is not huge on night life, leading this spot to have a comfortable buzz on a Saturday night. The spot is cozy, eclectic interior, flowered wallpaper on one wall, and exposed brick on the other. Good music at the right volume. They have a nice list of cocktails, and limited wine and beer. Really enjoyed it, will return.

Yelp
Came here after work on a Thursday evening and was able to walk right in and grab a table. Neat little place with speakeasy vibes. The drink menu looked amazing! I went with a Cut the Chase and it was phenomenal! my colleagues both had a dirty martini and enjoyed them, although I thought the portion was quite small. Overall nice spot and I'm looking forward to trying out some other drinks soon!

Yelp
It was a freezing cold November evening. We weren't able to make it to the tree lighting the night before. But let's be honest. We hate being cold. So standing outside in 20 degree weather sounds like misery. But I never get to see Campus Martius at Christmas. We plan it every year and every year it's bitter cold and we chicken out. But our night still remained absolutely magical! We started off here. Such a charming little place. Pink always makes me happy! The lighting is soft and welcoming. We were able to get seats at the bar but we clearly got there just in time. By the time we left it was standing room only. They have some lovely cocktails. No food. But a great place for a romantic date. They give you the bill in an old novel. I thought that was a great touch. We both enjoyed our drinks and absolutely will be back.

Yelp
Great addition to the Detroit craft cocktail bar scene! Tried several cocktails and all were excellent -- I think my favorite was the Cantarito, though. Super tart and a bit smoky from the mezcal, with that tiny bit of spice from the chamoy. So good. Cher's Diary was also a favorite at our table. Sour and bitter in the best way possible, with the frothiness from the egg white. Delicious! Will definitely find an excuse to go back soon!

Yelp
The ambiance of time will tell is funky, and sets you back into the 80s. Their drink menu has lots of fun drinks that are very reasonably priced. I came here on a date and I really loved my drinks. The bartenders were polite and quick. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Cute bar set up. The bartender knows what they are doing here. No food it they give you peanuts, which i needed because the drinks are tasty and strong.

Yelp
Last night, my husband & I made our way to Detroit's Milwaukee Junction neighborhood to check out this cute, new cocktail bar. We knew from the fact it was a Detroit Optimist Society venture that it was going to be special. Stepping inside, we were not disappointed. It has a really cool throwback vibe that is classy and intimate. From the gorgeous bar back to the color scheme and fun jukebox, the decor was perfect. At first we sat at a table, but moved to the bar when seats opened up. There is no better place to sit if you want to watch the drinks being made and share interesting conversation with friendly bartenders. We had three drinks: 1. The Hiatus Cowboy (Espolon Resposado, mole syrup, Angosturo bitters & grapefruit) Similar to an old-fashioned, this was delicious. The tequila was perfectly subtle. 2. Cut the Chase (milk-washed Evan Williams bourbon, Ameretto Fratelli d'italia, lemon juice, ginger syrup & Peychauds bitters). This was my favorite. It reminded me of an elevated whiskey sour. 3. Encantorito (Espolon Blanco, Los Vecinos mexcal, grapefruit juice, lime juice & chamay syrup) This was the only one I didn't care for - It was very smoky in flavor. I did love the chamay syrup they used, however, so I may see if they can downplay the mezcal next time.

Yelp
This is a great comfortable bar with a cool decor from years past. Great cocktail and wine menus. Super cool bartenders and great location!

Yelp
Gorgeous, intimate bar opened in mid March by the Sugar House & Wright & Co. Drinks we had were great: Hiatus Cowboy - Espolon reposado, mole syrup, Angostura bitters, grapefruit - delicious! A great substitute for an old fashioned. Cher's Diary - Norden strawberry aquavit, Valentine White Blossom vodka, Aperol, citric orange juice, egg white, soda....oh it's good! Cut the Chase - Milk washed Evan Williams bourbon, Amaretto Fratellu D'italia, lemon juice, ginger syrup, Peychauds bitters....very unique flavors - would bet you've never had anything quite like it (highly recommend!) Meeting with Misha - dessert in a drink! Kernel One vodka, Amaro Paxil, Frangelico, espresso syrup, egg (or can be made with soy milk). This was amazing!!! Top notch bartenders. Atmosphere is gorgeous. They are going for a 1950's vibe & decor is beautiful. Cool jukebox (free when we were there). It's a little hard to find - look for the Baltimore Station - it's right across the street. Check them out!!!!

Yelp
Very fun spot for date night! The cocktails are clearly made with expertise. I love that they bring the bill in a book.

Yelp
Quiet, comfortable vibe with lovely retro/speakeasy decor. A little out of the way compared to other bars, but parking and access is relatively easy. Bartenders were skilled and cocktails were excellent. I would definitely come back to this bar again.

Yelp
Really nice place. Good drinks. Excellent service. It was great to find a place that has a nice ambiance and good drinks that was reasonably priced.

Yelp
It's a vibe.....Time Will Tell has opened her doors! We were so excited for a little night out in the city and Time Will Tell was our destination. New to the cocktail scene, Time Will Tell is such a unique experience. If you didn't know what you were looking for, you would most certainly pass it by. It has a speakeasy vibe and the decor is retro cool. We ended up sitting at the bar and talking to the bartenders. We ordered a few cocktails that were fantastic. I really don't want to give too munch away, but this is most certainly the new spot to be!
google avatar

Ashlee S.

Yelp
Great place to meet a friend or two for a drink. Cozy space with lots of street parking available and directly across from a Q Line stop. The drinks were on the small side but were complex and interesting. Reasonable prices especially for the atmosphere. I ordered too many different drinks and have my ya headache but it was honestly worth trying them all. Cool staff; they made me feel welcome while I waited for my friend and we're happy to talk about the menu. Was not too busy in the evening, but definitely picked up between 7 and 8pm. The linen cocktail napkins was the final star for me 5/5!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a fantastic little bar. The drinks are very original and are spot on. The atmosphere is really nice. We will be coming back!

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. Time Will Tell is a swanky, retro cocktail lounge with the best bartenders in Detroit. I really don't know that but bet they are. My daughter booked the entire place for an after Wedding, after hours party. What a great time. When serving so many people all at once you can run into long waits. The professionals behind the bar got drinks out promptly with a great attitude. We checked the place out during regular business hours a few days before and couldn't wait for our guests to experience the vibe. I don't believe they serve any food, but who cares. Check this place out. You will love it.
google avatar

Anjelica A.

Yelp
This bar had great service and amazing decor but I definitely think they should expand their menu. It was fairly tequila heavy and if that don't your vibe it was hard but still loved this spot
google avatar

Makayla S.

Yelp
Intimate, sleek, and inviting. We had a difficult time choosing what to order because the entire menu was excellent!

Andy M.

Yelp
Awesome after dinner venue. Wife loved her gin based cocktail which was clean and citrusy. Cut the chase on the other hand is a hands down winner. Great vibe and chill atmosphere. Staff was super friendly. We will definitely be back.

Yelp

Yelp
Added a menu for those in need. Came in right when they opened. New bar so there is a lot of interest. We enjoyed our drinks and the jukebox was Pretty cool.

Yelp
Enjoyable cocktail spot with appealing retro atheistic and buzzy crowd. Appreciated the attention to detail in the decor and beverage program. Great place for a nightcap!

Yelp
Really enjoyed my first visit here! The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. It has a fantastic ambiance, and the drinks were fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Meeting with Misha. We will definitely be back.
