A Higher Minimum Wage for Tipped D.C. Restaurant Workers Wins by a Landslide | Eater DC
"Peter Bayne, co-founder of Tin Shop, warns that ripple effects of I-82 could lead to spikes in rent, insurance, credit card fees, and sales and business taxes, and he argues menu price increases do not directly correlate to higher wages or necessarily pass through to employees. He notes Tin Shop’s tipped employees currently make anywhere from $25 to $75 per hour, says they deserve that because the service industry is highly demanding both mentally and physically, and expresses hope that the initiative does not depress servers’ earnings." - Tierney Plumb
Tin Cottage is one of my go-to shops in Franklin! I always find something every time I shop there. I love to shop here for not only myself, but for friends and family as well! The staff members are always super sweet and the store is very well-organized. There is always such a great variety of my favorite brands (Teleties, Swig, and Goodr) as well as a great variety of Franklin merchandise and fun stationary! Highly recommend Tin Cottage!

Fun gift shop and boutique with a variety of products for any budget. They have some really funny apparel and unique gift items for the holidays as well as any time of year. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great prices. I spent a lot of time in here - there is just so much stuff, but it's still easy to navigate with plenty of space to move around.

I came in because I wanted to use a gift card I had won at an auction for a charity ball for Davis House Child Advocacy Center. So, just for donating, they deserve 5 stars from me! However, this gorgeous gift shop is packed with lots of cute stuff! Home decor, Franklin/Nashville related items including super soft shirts/sweatshirts, doggie items and all kinds of gifts. Items are priced similar to other shops in the area. That being said, I bought the cutest charcuterie board (so cute I decided to add it to my already way too large collection) and a beautiful set of wood...vases? I don't know what to call them exactly but they earned a place on my already newly styled shelves in which I had to decide what to remove! Went in expecting to spend $25, left spending $100 and it was totally worth it. 🙂 After I got home, I thought about what a great gift that charcuterie board would be so I tried to find it online (because no way was I giving up mine) and the price at Tin Cottage beat them all! Only by a few dollars but still. I guess I'll have to make another trip out there to this beautiful shop!

This was a beautiful shop. So many items that were perfect for gifts. Also their selection of Nashville Merch was amazing and it wasn’t the crapping Merch they actually looked good! Definitely recommend checking tin cottage out!

I loved this place! I had just like 1 hr to get souvenirs in 2019 and I found cool stuff. From Franklin apparel, to hand made soaps, stuffed animals, notebooks, stationary, you name it!. It is larger that it looks from the outside. Prices for all pockets.. clothing is not cheap but it is of great quality.

This store has so many cute and unique things! Both my husband and I enjoyed looking through the items and are even considering going back before we return home to Maryland even though our hotel is 30 mins away and we had planned to stay in Nashville for the rest of our trip.
We unknowingly walked in here shortly before they closed on a Sunday. I did not really pay attention to the hours on the door when we walked in and am not from Franklin so didn’t realize most places were closing at 5. But the ladies in the store were so nice they didn’t even say anything to us about still being in the store when they closed. It was about 5:15 when I realized we were the only ones in the store and then went to the counter and asked if they closed at 5. I said sorry because I felt bad. I’m sure they wanted to close up and go home. Even then, the lady at the counter was nice and said it was ok. We bought several items here and if we would have come earlier and had more time I am sure we would have bought even more! I had wanted to find a cute shop to get gifts for our family and this was a great place to go. Their prices were also more reasonable than some of the other stores we had gone to on the same street. I definitely recommend stopping here if you are in Franklin.

First time visiting this location and ENJOYED it with all of the unique gift items from local, pets, clothing etc...Would have given a 5 🌟 rating had there been any customer service interaction while looking around, but was GREAT once getting to check out as they added a little bit of flare (tissue/bow to bag) after knowing it was a gift! I will definitely be back again and THANK YOU for providing a cute store in downtown Franklin for us to shop! 🛍 🎁

Yelp
Lotsa cute stuff.
When walking around downtown Franklin waiting for our dinner reservation time, this was my favorite place we stopped in. And it was the one we spent the most time in.
Kitschy, cute, funny, adorable stuff to peruse and purchase.
Funny socks.
Silly cards.
Stickers.
Punny tea towels.
Books. Knick-knacks. Home goods.
You will certainly want to purchase several items you see here.
You should be ale to find something in your price range. And otherthings well beyond your price range.
Either way, stop in and get your window-shopping on.
You're sure to find something to put a smile on your face.

Yelp
Stuff, stuff, stuff, and more stuff! If you need gift ideas, this is your store! So many custom cards, knick knacks, mugs, home decor, car decor, perfumes, table settings, ect. If you're not sure what to get someone for a special occasion, here's a store that will inspire you to find the perfect gift!
Convenient location, the store is very neat, and the staff are quite friendly

Yelp
We ate lunch across the street at the mellow mushroom because they have gluten-free pizzas. This store calls out to you to come in, so we did. They sell funny tea towels, The Red Neck Cook Book, Easter Decorations and fun Franklin, TN stickers as well as glasses as you can see from my photos. My children had fun with that. A wide variety of gifts, souvenirs and cook books. This store is fun to explore and a great place to get gifts or souvenirs if you are just visiting as we were.

Yelp
Such a great place to find gifts for everyone on your list! Love this shop every time we're in Nashville and always find something new, interesting and unique! We can't help but find something, sometimes for ourselves, too!

Yelp
Y'all, this store is PRESH. I love it because it's not filled with every single item I've ever seen in an Nashville boutique. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's plenty of "Nashville is home" type of stuff in here, but that's not all there is. There's much more variety in Tin Cottage than across the street at White's Mercantile. There are so many cute unique things in this store, and to be a boutique shoppe in Franklin, they have relatively fair prices. I got a gorgeous tablecloth for $36 here this weekend and I'd probably have spent that at Target on something way more cookie-cutter that everyone else has. This is a GREAT place to go for gifts. Lots of stuff that is giftable for moms, dads, new parents, and newlyweds. Beautifully laid out and decorated and just a fun shopping experience for men & women both. Definitely worth dropping by to check it out.

Yelp
Cute store. Dropped in one day to check it out. They have a lot of gifts/knick knacks for entertaining and some good vintage finds. It's a good place to go for unique gifts.

Yelp
Our favorite of all the shops we stopped in while in Franklin. Perfect place to find gifts, and unique items. A mix of old and new and charming.
