SICKENING! [!PLEASE READ!]
Writing this review is making me sick to my stomach as I reflect back on my experience from yesterday evening. As a local businesswoman I frequent many restaurants and in all my experiences, I've never witnessed something so degrading and unprofessional.
I want to start by saying, my server and food was great! No different from the many other times I've dined here, but the treatment to some neighboring customers was completely uncalled for. As I was finishing my food, I watched two college-aged girls across the way endure a verbally abusive and humiliating mouth-full from the chef. That's right, the chef!
Earlier in my meal, I noticed him come out and speak to them once, but didn't think anything of it. I assumed there was a food issue or something, but no big deal. It was the second time he came back that got completely out of hand! I don't know what was wrong but he came out of the kitchen and approached their table like he was on a mission. He continued to verbally abuse these two poor girls, yelling and cursing across the room. There was nothing quiet about it!
Disgusted, I kindly asked my server for my bill. After paying, I discreetly asked another employee for the name of the individual on the way out. Ronnie was his name and turns out, he was the manger. With that information I was ready to leave.
When I got in my car and went to leave, I witnessed this grumpy middle-aged aged man, Ronnie, aggressively follow these two girls to their car. He continued to harass them on their way out and even as they got into their vehicle. I don't care who you are, but this is completely unacceptable and quite honestly, concerning. As a mother of two this made me absolutely sick! What if that was my daughter? It gave me chills as I sat there, genuinely worried about these girls safety!
If this is how customers are being treated, I pray for the employees and what they have to endure behind closed doors. There's no excuse for how Ronnie acted and I'm shocked that someone in a position of authority conducted themself in this way. A manager should be looked at as a leader, rather than a dictator and a safe place for both customers and employees to consult in if there's ever an issue.
I was hesitant to write this review, because the food is actually pretty good, and my goal here isn't to knock the restaurant for the fault of one rotten apple, but rather to bring awareness to the severity of the situation.
I can only hope this will be serve as an opportunity for the business owners to address a potentially destructive individual and as a warning for potential customers in the meantime. That said, I will continue to vote with my wallet and take my business to establishments where I feel comfortable and valued as a customer.
I'll be available via messages or email if anyone has questions or needs clarification out my experience.
All the best,
- Sophia
