Tin Marín Tapas

Love Tin Marín! I always have a great experience here. Tonight, I had a pineapple juice, bread and oil, meatballs, caprese salad, plantains and the empanadas. Everything was delicious. And we loved it. We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday, and there was plenty of seating available. Tin Marín was very cozy and nicely decorated for the holidays. I can’t wait to stop back in and try more of their options. The spices they use and the sauces are delicious and complete each dish. The service was great too! I highly recommend this spot!

Recently took my family for dinner to this location. We were three individuals and were looking forward to experiencing a nice evening out. The venue is clean and the decor very pleasant to the eyes. However, at a certain time during the later afternoon/early evening, the lights were significantly dimmed making it a bit difficult to see what one was actually eating. Not sure if this is a cost cutting measure. The food from start to finish was generally very good. However, the Caldo Gallego was rather bland, but then, this isn't a restaurant with focus on Spanish cuisine. But I expected a little more taste. The main dishes were excellent - churrasco and filet mignon. They were seasoned just right and fresh!!! The desserts were also nicely made. Seems like any choice of dessert is a good choice. But, and this a huge but, and be forewarned. The wait time is excessive. We were a party of three and it took us more than 2 1/2 to complete our dinner. The drinks took about 20+ minutes to arrive. The appetizers took more than half an hour to arrive. The entrees took almost an hour to arrive. And the desserts took about half an hour to arrive. I inquired from our waitress regarding the wait time for the food and she replied that the kitchen is limited in size and that perhaps the wait time is not what we were accustomed to. It appears that the restaurant expanded its interior but expansion of the kitchen did not take place. A very nice restaurant with mostly very good cuisine. However, don't arrive too hungry or you'll be sorry.

I am a customer of Tin Marin since they opened, over 10 years ago. They were a smaller place before but the atmosphere remained the same, fun and family oriented. You will see the owner on the floor cleaning tables, assisting as well. I celebrated my daughter's birthday here. When I want to listen to live music, have una buena carne termino medio, and the best tempranillo🍷in town, I drive to Tin Marin. The location is a perfect one as well. The food was amazing I wish I took a picture of my dessert and the restaurant was a vibe it was packed and the service was great and the decor was everything down to the ceiling definitely worth the travel

A great go-to spot! Good food, cute aesthetic, great service, and delicious cocktails. The mofonguitos are always a hit. Love the variety of tapas—perfect for sharing. Highly recommend!

We stopped by Tin Marín, for the first time, for coffee and desserts, just desserts. At first we thought that we would not be accommodated, but learned otherwise. The host was gracious and prompt. Our server, Danielle, was very pleasant and accommodating, We were surprised to learn that they do not serve coffee at Tin Marín. Very surprised. I had a glass of port and not one of the desserts that I wanted on hand. The tres leches, we’re told, is phenomenal. Didn’t get to prove that at all. The churro was delightfully tasty and freshly made. The flan was light and delicious and I totally devoured it. We will return. TBC..

I went there on a Sunday night to listen to live music from Dominican artists Faustino, and was surprised to find a latino place in the Bronx that is promoting and providing a space for new and experimental artists to perform. Part of Faustino’s performance consisted in having a visual artist (Gabriel ‘Garuma’) making art live and drawing portraits of people on site. Very cool! Oh and the food… Delicious! I had the chuletas de cordero, el caldo gallego and tostones ibéricos. 10/10! Friendly environment for everyone.

Service was excellent!! We came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The ambiance was very intimate, at the same time very loud and live. The waiters and all staff were extremely polite, friendly, professional, it was perfect!!! There was a gentleman that seemed like the owner or manager, that made us feel welcomed right away and like we were long long friends. Food was excellent, I really didn’t expect all plates to be so delicious. Every plate was made from perfection, starters and entrees as well. Dessert was even better than the food and that says a lot!!! I really enjoyed my time here. Although there was a long wait, (cause they were not really making reservations, it was a first come first serve kind of system), we NEVER felt rushed to empty our tables. We finished eating and drinking and stayed for the live band for about an hour more, and they never suggested we had to leave or brought the bill like they do at some other places. And believe me, as soon as we decided to leave, someone was already standing up next to the tables we had so that they could sit.

I came here on a recommendation from my Uber driver and was not disappointed. Arrived at 2:00 p.m. when they opened, no reservation necessary. My party of five leisurely dined and drank for about four hours. We ordered a variety of items: baked portobello mushroom with goat cheese, seafood paella, shrimp mofonguito, canastitas de bacalao. The food was excellent! The canastitas de bacalao were my absolute favorite dish. I wouldn't get the paella again though. No one in my party liked it and the taste was a bit off. The first thing I noticed was that the rice was gummy and I wanted to add black pepper for flavor. One of my dining companions said the fish had a "fishy taste" and was "too chewy". Oh, and the olive oil for dipping the bread was the best I've ever tasted! It had to be a homemade concoction because it was more than just oil. It was absolutely delicious. The drinks were 10/10! We were right on time for happy hour and had about fifteen tamarind margaritas between us. Each one was a hit. The bartender was very good at her job. I love the atmosphere and that we were allowed to sit without being rushed. Our server was attentive from the minute we walked in. Light music playing in the background was great and didn't interfere with having a conversation. I can't tell you what was being played. Like I said, fifteen margaritas between us. All in all, I love this place and I'll definitely be back. I've added it to my list of solid go-to restaurants.

This restaurant boasts energy and chill vibes with beautiful renditions of music playing. I went there on a Thursday night with my cousins for dinner, sat outside since it was a beautiful day. However, it was a little uncomfortable sitting at a slope, but that's new york for ya. the bread and garlicky olive oil dip was so good, we asked for seconds. the bread could have been warmer though. we ordered the mofonguitos with chicken, papas bravas for the table. the sauce was fantastic with the mofongo. the papas bravas were thick sliced fried potatoes with a giant dollop of this spicy aioli on top, absolutely order these! for my main, i had the churrasco with mashed potatoes, i'd give it a 7.5/10. the steak was perfectly cooked but their chimichurri was where they lost me. it was too chunky for my taste, very light in color and full of garlic. don't get me wrong, I prefer a more olive oil based with lots of herbs and garlic. i'm a garlic girl but i like my chimichurri the way i like it!

This is truly one of my favorite date spots in the entire city! It's got such great food with large portions and more than fair prices, the service is attentive and nice, and the space is warm and lively with everything being extremely inviting! I don't know what more you could want from a restaurant experience. All of the tapas are wonderful, you really can't go wrong. I used to live by this spot but recently moved but I can honestly say I go out of my way to come back and eat here every now and then. Definitely recommend!

This is one of those classic places that never goes out of style aka "my wife favorite place in the Bronx". This spot is a staple in the Riverdale area. Great food and great ambient. Service is great as well and they get the food out of that kitchen really fast - specially if you order Tapas. The vibe hear is super chill - bossa nova type of style. Location is very convenient as well. Keep up the great work.

I had a great time at Tin Marin enjoying live music with a very band. The staff was friendly and the place was vibing with a great energy. I did not have a chance to have food but plan to return to try some of their dishes.

The first time tried Tin Marin, I thought it was just okay. But fast forward to my most recent visit, and my experience was excellent -- from the food to the drinks to the service! Continue reading for a run down of some of my favorites. Small plates / appetizers - Definitely get the garlic shrimp, octopus, and croquettes! These are all super yummy! Large plates - Stick to the salmon and paella. Both are super tasty! A friend of ours loves the steak, which I think is good but not as spectacular as the ones I mentioned. Drinks - These are strong here!! You can't go wrong with any of them. As for the ambiance, it's dark and quaint inside and great for either a date night or a smaller group gathering. But, be aware that later in the evenings on weekends, Tin Marin brings in live musicians and bands. Therefore it can get quite loud. However, if you dine early, you can avoid this if you're not a fan of live music.

This place is very comforting. Like going there for drinks. The food is good. Tried the steak was not too happy with it. The empanadas always good.

Came here to meet up with a Yelp Buddy. We had a pleasant lunch and the ambiance of the place was cute. They have outdoor dining and Happy Hour everyday. Not sure about the weekends. Like most restaurants now you have to scan a QR code to see the menu. They are known for their tapas, and boy they did not disappoint. I enjoyed my light appetizers and drinks. My shrimp was so good I had to bring another order of it home. The customer service was phenomenal. My waiter/ bartender made me my own special drink that was refreshing and delicious. I had a great time meeting up with a fellow Yelp Buddy in my neighborhood and knowing that she had a great experience as well I'm happy to have such a nice spot with great ambiance to bring friends or colleagues too. I definitely will need to revisit with some girlfriends. I'm sure they will enjoy it. Thumbs up for me. Happy Yelping !

Girl Scout Cookies delivery spot! The plan to meet at a halfway spot, had us decided on Tin Marin. The restaurant is so much smaller than I expected. My impression from the photos viewed on Yelp appeared to make the restaurant seem larger. In this case size doesn't matter, as this woodsy, crystally decorated Tapas gem of a restaurant, makes up in ambiance and an ample selection of tapas, enticing enough to keep one satisfied. Comfortable bar seating, with accommodating staff to create your off menu drink requests. Outdoor, sidewalk seating is available to tackle the prime time patrons taking advantage of their Happy Hour specials. Parking is challenging in the area, so patience is required. This one issue of parking still makes it worth the trip back to Tin Marin for a repeat visit in future.

This place is alive! No surprise, the food is delicious and uniquely flavorful. The garlic dishes really go all out on the garlic and I love it! The mofongo was nice and most, not some dry hockey puck. I don't like flan and someone I still love theirs. Not jello-y, more crème brûlée-y. Even the bread and oil were in point. Very happy! I missed pictures of most dishes because we dove in so fast and hard!

Delicious food and adult atmosphere. Fits nicely into the neighborhood. Service was attentive and staff courteous. Food comes out quickly and served by the entire team. Amazing how busy they were and how quick the food was being served. Definitely worth visiting if in the area. The empanadas were my least favorite. Meatballs were extremely flavorful and moist.

Stumbled upon this place last night while in the area and decided to give it a try, i loved the sourdough bread with olive oil dipping it was delightful, very fresh and tasty, I went with the waitress suggestion the lamb chops, the were delicious, the mash was a lil hard and lumpy that needs work, paired it with a glass of cab and it was tasty. The atmosphere was a bit loud, we opted to sit inside until a table outside became available but time flew and we just adjusted to the noise level, the place was filled to capacity, everyone's food looked fresh and tasty, I'd go back, i'm hoping someone contacts me i believe my shades were left accidentally.

Went for lunch on Saturday! The food was delicious and fresh. I loved the tshirts staff was wearing and the music that they were playing. The staff was attentive. I had the albóndigas de mama and the papas rellenas. Delicious. Will most definitely return.

This was such a great vibe for afterword drinks and appetizers. Great value if you come at happy hour . We had vodka cosmopolitans and they were strong and delicious . The servers were great and attentive The music was nice and it had a great ambiance . I would come back for drinks and appetizers alone Great local spot

I had such an amazing time dining at Tin Marin. This is a great spot for brunch or happy hour with friends or family! I came during happy hour and it was packed! Luckily I was able to snag a seat. I started with the guava margarita and the caprese salad, which were both delicious. I also ordered the shrimp mofunguitos which I highly recommend! Definitely a must try if you're in the neighborhood.

I love Tom Marin-- great happy hour, awesome food. Staff is great and the service is excellent. My favorite thing to do is walk there during happy hour and sit outside with one of their awesome margaritas! Also, I highly recommend their desserts :)

So I've been to Tin Marin on several occasions during the 6 years I've lived in Riverdale from 2014 to 2020. It has always struck me as my top shelf option. But the atmosphere is very "clubby". I was reminded of this when I visited the old neighborhood the other day. My friend and I were sitting there yelling over the music and chatter noise. Mind you, the place is often deservedly packed due to the quality of food and drink: always flavorful with a knowledgeable staff to guide your pallette. And the entertainment "is" entertaining: everthing from a karaoke night to live entertainment to a decent DJ. But you might want to sit outside if you want to get to know someone or "catch up". As for the service, always a professional experience, which is very hard to do over a six year span.

Exceeded expectations! I was looking to grab a quick bite visiting my parents and was pleasantly surprised to find this place. Great atmosphere and service. The drinks are magnificent and the food is delicious. Stop by if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.

Took my daughter out for dinner here while shes at Manhattan college. Great margarita. Great grilled octopus appetizer! Steak was cooked perfectly. Would definitely go again. A+

Stunned by the exceptional everything here. Food. Drinks. Service. Unusual smart and regular crowd. Regular = no hipsters, no loud financial wizards, no real estate bros in tight suits, no plastic surgery, no boasting. No waiters interrupting the meal to Ask, "How is everything tasting?" This must be the reward for living through every stupid, vain, unremarkable restaurant. Now don't go ruining it!

Love the drinks here, margaritas, sangria and mojito are the go tos. Also worth nothing : the flatbreads, empanadas,mofonguito,codfish fritters, lamb and yuca, tostones Honestly , everything is great

It's not news for those who reside in Riverdale, but this place should be a destination for persons all overThe Bronx and upper Manhattan. They just celebrated their 10th anniversary and it's never been better. I've tried most everything on their extensive tapas menu. All are great and some spectacular. Full bar with happy hour specials from 5-7. You can't beat the $5.00 margarita! Gets busy on Friday evenings. Do yourself a favor and try it.

This is a MUST VISIT! Awesome night, first thing and great thing this place was PACKED! But they do not hold reservations, which was awesome!! Before coming here I called different places and unfortunately they were Full, but now I understand better than ever that "Everything Happens for a reason" and the meaning behind this is that this was meant to Be, lol .. We were a party of 5, and were celebrating my mom's birthday , the server and the manager or owner couldn't have been any more helpful, nor accommodating! They were Amazing all night!! We ordered a Sangria pitcher and was really tasty and strong , my mom and grand ma ordered some Virgin mojitos (it was so good that my grand ma had 4 ) Food, food food was GREAT, TOP TOOP! Everything WAS Incredibly GOOD, OH MY GOD! First the appetizers, we had 3 orders of the *Tostones Ibéricos * they are to die for, I wish I took a couple back home lol, Emapanadas were really good too (didn't get to take a photo of them) but it brings 3 little empanadas (Chicken, Beef and Cheese, cheese was my favorite), and some Pinchos, the meat was really delicious, tasty and tender!! We had a couple of different main plates, Mofonguitos although they are supposed to be appetizers, I feel they were good enough for me as the Main plate, don't regret trying them at all, it was really delicious, the plantain was crispy and at the same time soft and the meat was really juicy and yummy!! Also got to try my mom's Churrasco, which was PERFECTLY COOKED, I personally like meat well done, and this one wasn't but still tasted incredibly delicious, was really tender, perfectly seasoned!! Churrasco is a must try here!! Also their portions are quite BIG! My sister and her Boyfriend ordered the Paella "for 2" and was quite HUGE! We all ate and they still took some home, they loved it.. The Desserts were all really goooooood!! We ordered Chocolate Lava cake (which wasn't on the menu), Churros with Chocolate dipping (I liked it more without the dipping ), my grandma had the Concon de Leche, and the Top top top one was the Crema Catalana *MUST TRY* it was the most delicious one! They had a Live singer, which made the night even better, we had a GREAT TIME, Definitely recommend this Place, and would definitely GO BACK!! great night, great people, great service (above and beyond), and greeeeeeat food, they had FULL HOUSE, place was packed! And they still managed to have everything ready on time, didn't see a single dissatisfied customer!

Very Nice Tapas Latin Fusion spot! Felt like I was in the west village or Tribeca, the vibe is very cool. Service is good, food is very tasty and fresh. A lot of flavor., everything is fresh from the bread to the rice and black beans. The shrimp was soft a fluffy not chewy at all. The mussels were fresh with a nice creamy, garlic, oil sauce, same sauce for the shrimp. It was so good had ro sip the bread in it once I was done. Nice selection of wines and cocktails. Staff is friendly and fast they take away your empty plates right away, and constantly check on you. Manager or owner wasn't sure asked how everything was. He did the same as we were leaving. Makes you feel like you want to go back Highly recommend will definitely be back

Delicious apps and entrees and ambiance, with occasional live music. Great date spot or for a group dinner. Cant go wrong with the steak. Servers are fast and friendly as well.

I don't often come to the Bronx but when I do the food never disappoints. I met with 2 friends at this location and I really loved everything I had. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the sangria it was a bit on the bitter side so I changed to a margarita which was very tasty. I was lucky enough to try the following dishes tostones & chorizo lamb with yuca mash empanadas dates wrapped in bacon snapper grilled octopus Everything was amazing and I will be coming back for sure

The food was excellent, however, the service is super super slow! Waited more than 1 hour to get some appetizers and then one more hour to get the entrees. And the drinks weren't good either. Ambiance was good tho.

Tin Marin came in as a recommendation from a friend. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The wait was not long at all for a Saturday afternoon. It was tapas style which I usually enjoy. I don't have any complaints about what I ordered. I do wish the sangria was a bit stronger but other than that it was a good visit!

This a great spot for delicious food, drinks, and a great feel, really nice ambiance. Servers are friendly and attentive, and the energy both inside and out if you choose outdoor dining in the warmer weather, is relaxed and inviting. Decorated beautifully for the holidays, we had delicious sangria, and everyone was very happy with their food and we were a large party. The only downside is the wait which can be hit or miss, I guess depending on their staffing, but Tin Marin a highly recommend!

I visited here last night for my first time and the restaurant's team was very friendly. The server, May, was wonderful, made us feel at home, and didn't rush us. We enjoyed all our food and their tasty margaritas.

Stoppe by on a quiet Monday night and it quickly got busy and with reason ! They have live performances and it made the night so much more special . They serve a variety of delicious tapas as well as full courses . They also have many drinks available to choose from , i had their house drink " when I'm doubt" and it was amazing . Looking forward to my next visit!

One month later, I've returned twice to this establishment and I continue to love it. I ordered the churrasco this time and it was delicious. The tostones were soft and tasted amazing as well. I love their sangrias! They have different options of flavors you can try.

Going here for the first time was an unexpected surprise. Here with an old friend we chatted and enjoyed appetizers and wine . The weather was beautiful and so was my company lol. We both enjoyed our time there. I had one issue and that was promptly addressed with a manager afterwards. The amount that I left for a tip wasn't the amount charged to my card. It was almost $10.00 more. I didn't like that. Otherwise I would definitely gives this place another go. The wine here was excellent and the food was worth the wait.

Great food, amazing drinks, but a little pricey (what you would expect for tapas and in Riverdale I guess)! We came right at 2 on a Saturday when it just opened. As soon as we were seated the waitress and bartender asked us, within a minute or two what we wanted, but we hadn't even looked at the menu yet, so we asked for another five minutes they came back in like 15 to 20 minutes. I think because it started to get busy. The food came out pretty fast after, not much waiting, plus they give you some free bread to start. I would come here again and try more tapas. La rubia was honestly such a good drink (smoky/woody taste to the tequila drink that I loved!)

The food is good which is why we have gone back for years. However we live in Riverdale and would never recommend this establishment again. We were celebrating with my sister who is a cancer patient. A waiter by the name of Miguel Gonzalez abruptly without a conversation or our requesting our permission started pulling the table out from under us as he urgently needed to open a window. The man who refers to himself as "the leyenda" is a bit crazy. We were at end of our meal And ready for dessert but After this very rude and obnoxious action we expected an apology from manager and there was none. We got up and left. A real low class place and no consideration for its customers.

Haven't even eaten the food yet and it took 15 minutes to literally catch a waiters attention after not even seeing a host at the door and with available seating. standing outside of the patio waiting for someone to notice that we are not being helped. The waitress directs a busboy to give people water while I'm trying to say excuse me i need help and she walks away. Two other women pull up Infront of us the lady sees them from far away comes directly to them asked them if they are being helped and provides them a seat for two those women waited 15 seconds to be attended. He host shows up finally and asks are we being helped i tell them no and explain the situation to him , he goes she probably didn't see you. This place could be five stars but my first experience gives them one star, customer service is crap. Disrespectful , rude and bias. Couldn't even apologize first automatically blamed us for not being visible.

Jose was wonderful great service and he knew exactly what was on the menu. Wonderful food and definitely worth coming here! Lamb chops and charred perfectly and Gambs Al hijo are to die for.

Tim Marin is a great local restaurant to meet friends and unwind after work. The drinks and tapas are delicious.

Before covid, I would come here all the time. Love the food (specially the lobster), drinks, and the ambiance. The customer service is very good too and they go above and beyond for you. Wont rush you to leave either. My favorite part and the reason why I would go all the time is the live shows. It's definitely a vibe, such amazing artists perform here from time to time. If you're in town you have to check this place out.

For a first time diner i enjoyed the food start to finish. Ordered the passion fruit mojito I had two. The bread they brought to the table was so soft and the garlic & olive oil was tasty. We ordered a few tapas all unique in flavor. It's been so hard to get a good meal after the pandemic due to. Restaurants buying cheaper product and so on but that's not the case here. , Pulpo ceviche was delicious, Dates stuffed with Goat cheese wrapped in bacon was yummy. Clams Almeja and Garlic shrimp was great seafood.. And for Dessert we had Creme Brûlée I've been dying for this dessert and haven't found it in any restaurants for a while and it was such a treat.
