The Best Upcoming Chicago Bars and Restaurants to Know | Eater Chicago

"I read that Tin Roof, a Nashville-based live-music bar chain founded near Music Row in 2002, will open in Wrigleyville at 3519 N. Clark Street inside the same building as Shake Shack and Alamo Drafthouse." - Naomi Waxman

From the moment we stepped in, Tin Roof (Chicago) delivered an outstanding night out. The menu is truly amazing—there’s something for everyone, with inventive twists and solid classics that showcase flavor and balance. Whether you’re in the mood for a craft cocktail, a refreshing beer, or a hearty bite, the kitchen and bar team hit it out of the park. The live music added the perfect vibe without overpowering conversation, creating an atmosphere that’s lively yet comfortable. It’s the kind of place where you can relax with friends or unwind after a long day, and the music never overpowers the moment. A special shout-out to our bartender, Briana. Her bubbly personality, genuine friendliness, and attentive service turned an already great evening into something truly world-class. She made us feel welcome, remembered our preferences, and kept the drinks and energy high without missing a beat. Overall, Tin Roof (Chicago) exceeded our expectations in every way. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy more from the menu, soak in the live music, and, of course, greet Briana again for top-notch service.

In town for a football game. Saw that there was live music so we wanted to check it out. Food, service and music were great.

Our favorite Tinroof as a group coming from Nashville, this place really has a great weekend crowd compared to some of the others.

Google
Great place to go after a Cubs game. Did have the food there, but the drinks were good, the bartenders attentive. It has a fun decor and there’s plenty of space to cut loose if you wanna dance.

Came here on a random BUSY night and Morgan (manager) was incredible. Best service I’ve ever had and Tin Roof has gained a table of loyal customers due to her! I absolutely adore her. The world needs more of Morgan!!!

My favorite bar in Wrigley! Live music is always great and service is incredible. The security, bar staff and manager were so helpful to our entire group. They went out of their way to make my boyfriends birthday special and helped me when I lost my purse! I would recommend to anyone!

Went to tin roof Chicago the last 2 days and had an absolute blast with my girlfriend. This may be our new bar to come to. It has a DJ area that is wide open to dance and by the main entrance off Clark is where they have bands playing. The drinks are amazing and the food is great. Will highly recommend this place.

Google
Great vibes, great people! Tin Roof is an awesome spot for all ages - whether you're out for a fun night with friends or just enjoying good food and drinks. The menu was surprisingly great, and the drinks were on point. The atmosphere was lively but still felt safe and well-managed thanks to the professional security team. Huge shoutout to Domian — super friendly and awesome to work with. He really made the experience even better! Great music, welcoming crowd, and a place that feels fun and safe for both the young and young-at-heart. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
While waiting for the Cubs vs Braves game this afternoon I visited this spot for a pre game session! The place was spacious, and had a good variety of music playing. I had an angry orchard and my husband had the Oktoberfest beer. We also ordered some cheese fries and the cauliflower bites. The food came out fairly quickly and both items were good size portions! The servers were also very attentive and friendly!

Yelp
The live music grabbed our attention. On this occasion we heard the country/blues set of Lola Blu. This band was very talented. They played a set and also allowed customers to request songs via QR app. Talent was good. We opted to grabbed a few beers and enjoy the show. Eventually we ventured over to the dance sections of this venue. Totally attached nightclub located within this venue. The DJ was spinning a mix of old and new: rap, pop and dance. Enjoyable time was had at this establishment.

Yelp
Great bar! Will say, dj sucked on 8/16 in back room. Disco balls are amazing & drinks well made

Yelp
After walking past numerous times and thinking it looked like a cool bar, I finally had the opportunity to go to Tin Roof. (7:00 on a Friday). It was pretty bad. The floor was SOOO STICKY like to the point where my foot was starting to leave my shoe because it was stuck to the nasty / dirty floors. The staff needs to start mopping the place. It is also very loud to the point where no conversations can be had inside and you'll be near deaf after leaving. The music was also pretty lame / the most basic tunes. The bar service was slow (only two barmaids for a busy establishment) and the drinks were pretty basic / lowbrow options. Think fraternity party but not at the cool house. Hopefully a management gets it together or a better place moves in.

Yelp
Post Cubs game we went into Tin Roof. Anticipate a line. It took us about 20-30 minutes to get in. The live band was good and the crowd was getting into it. One of the band members was checking up on a girl sitting by herself - all was good, but how amazing of a person to both perform and watch out for others. I didn't check out the back room; which looked more club vibes. Nor did I take advantage of the late night snack option.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place for a while, so happy we finally did! The live band was a blast and the beer prices were good for the area, pleasantly surprised. Place was pack and still managed to get pretty good service. The overall atmosphere was just fun and inviting, plenty of bathroom space with no annoying attendant, can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Went last night for my first time and really liked the place! I've been to Tin Roof in Lexington, KY and Nashville, TN many times and thought the Chicago location was much cleaner and more spacious than previous locations I've been to. We did Tuesday Trivia and had an absolute blast - the host, Skylar, was great as well and created a fun environment for all. I really liked that you can order food from a QR code and then pick up your food yourself at the to-go window they have inside the bar. They also had a ton of Christmas decorations up which I appreciate as a holiday lover! I highly recommend Tin Roof for a fun night out or for Trivia Tuesdays!

Yelp
This was my third visit to Tin Roof. I love that they have live music playing on the front stage, as well as a DJ in the back room! Lately the schedule has skewed primarily country performers, although my first visit had a rock type band. Bartenders are nice, and the drinks are reasonably priced for Wrigley. They also have a decent food menu. The funnel cake was delicious. The crowd does tend to peak later in the evening (we were there at 10 and it was just starting to fill in). Would definitely recommend if looking for a fun night out!

Yelp
Did a man design this bar? I understand it's called tin roof so you have tin restrooms but command hooks are less than $5 to hold a woman's purse and/or coat. Apparently the owners are too cheap

Yelp
I came here with some friends on a night out and had a fun time. There's two main areas, with live bands in the front and DJ in the back. It gets super loud, but sometimes that's what you want when you want to dance. The drinks are kind of expensive but so is everything in this area.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place ! Good vibes, good theme, I loved that they had a band in the front and dj in the back that was separate. I couldn't drink because I was the sober friend tonight but service was quick and especially loved the short brunette bartender with tattoos (I didn't get her name) good attitude and service. I would say the bathrooms should definitely be cleaned every hour bc it was a huge mess but brownie points for the huge space, all the stalls were large and toilets all worked and were clean enough to sit on it was just the floor that was messy. Also I loved that food was available late at night with different choices. I will definitely be back soon and probably will be my favorite place to go.

Yelp
Wow! What a time was had at tin roof. Walking in I knew it was a gonna be an experience with the person greeting us. After grabbing a few beers and cocktails from the friendly bartender, my friends and I enjoyed the live music and sang all night.

Yelp
Was here on Saturday night and had so much fun with friends. It's Monday now and we're still talking about how good these cheesesteak fries were! So much fun dancing can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Very cheap drinks compared to every other bar in the Wrigley area! Service is quick and they even serve food! Live music is phenomenal and it seems like it's usually a pretty fun and happy crowd.

Yelp
I haven't tried their food yet but I got to check out the space and it was super dope. They have a live music room in the front with bands playing and they have the Green room with a DJ and 3 disco balls. This is definitely a great new place to go out dancing in Wrigleyville!

Yelp
Was super fun except for the security dude by the bathroom who threatened to pull his gun on someone because they were standing in the hallway. Calm down bro.

Yelp
We had a blast hanging here during our Christmas bar crawl. The DJ was great and the drinks were tasty!!

Haridas S.

Yelp
Great place not racist unlike cubby bear which only allows whites Cubby bear is white people only. Go there if you have blonde hair and blue eyes

Gretchen K.

Yelp
went after a cubs game and the live music was awesome, good vibes all around except for our bartender - not sure his name but he had long hair in a pony tail & wearing glasses. my friends and i ordered our drinks on different tabs and he told us "really guys? read the room" which okay.. i understand it's busy especially after a cubs game but why can't my friends and i pay on our own cards? felt like that was rude and uncalled for .. felt obligated to pay on one card, which we did in the end but otherwise we had a great time!

Katlyn T.

Yelp
Came in for a football game! Ricky, was amazing. The man can pour a good glass of wine. For sure will be back!

Yelp
i went for my birthday and had to wait 30 mins for a drink and when i tipped below 20% i was yelled at by my bartender and then kicked out!!
