The bar staff were very dishonest. I left my card and my account open, and I kept consuming. In the end, they charged me for 12 cans of High Noon, when I only drank 5. I questioned this, and a waiter came and said I had consumed 8, so he swiped my card charging me for 8 when in fact it was 5. If I consumed 5, they charged me for 8, so why did they give me a bill for 12? This situation is regrettable. I hope he doesn't do this to people who drink too much and don't know what they're paying for. And what's more, that waiter treated me terribly, he was very agitated and threatened me, dishonest and a bad character.

If you're into unpretentious hangouts with great energy, this shotgun shack-style bar and music venue is a must. We stopped in after a Fever game and found a lively crowd, a DJ spinning upbeat tracks, and a laid-back atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy the night. There’s plenty of seating both inside and out on the patio, making it a great spot whether you want to catch the action or kick back with friends. The drink scene is strong here—daily specials and a solid Happy Hour (Monday through Friday) mean there’s always something good and affordable on tap. Hungry? The expansive menu has you covered. From wings and tenders to burgers, tacos, and much more, there’s something for every craving. Want to catch a live set or DJ night? Be sure to check out their website for the latest music lineup—it’s a great spot to keep on your radar for a fun night out without the frills.

Google
Popped in for a drink and they had some live music going. The band was good, Pom Teddy I believe. Good cover stuff, which enhanced the experience. Wouldn't call it a dive bar because it's obviously manufactured to look like one, but it worked. Service was solid. Adequate beer selection and a lot of space to spread out.

Google
Very fun bar. The live music rivaled most concerts I’ve been to recently. The place was packed but the bartenders really hustled and were very friendly. Drinks were a good price, especially considering the downtown location. Our new go-to spot downtown!

Sarah S.

Google
I had a great time at The Tin Roof! The atmosphere was lively and fun, with great music and a relaxed vibe that made the evening enjoyable. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure our table had everything we needed without being overbearing. The food was tasty, especially the appetizers, and the drinks were well-made and reasonably priced. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that it did get a little loud, which made it hard to have a conversation at times. Still, if you’re looking for a spot with good food, cold drinks, and energetic nightlife in Indy, The Tin Roof is worth checking out.

Google
Can't tell you how many times I've made clear eye contact with the bartender to be kept waiting. I'm not entitled or anything but after making eye contact, you proceed to pour shots socialize and take shots with your friends before I get served is crazy to think about. But hey it is what it is 2 stars for service. Music is cool tho

Jennifer C.

Google
Fun times, especially after leaving Gainbridge when you can see live music. I wish they served late-night food, but I still go there for the fun atmosphere and delicious drinks!

Jason T

Google
A great place if you want a laid back place for brews and live music. The bartenders were great; attentive and professional. The music was top notch, even though I'm not a country music fan. It was a super fun time.
google avatar

Arija D.

Yelp
Stopped into Tin Roof for a quick drink before an event at Gainbridge and had a great experience! It wasn't too busy, so we grabbed seats at the bar. All the bartenders were super attentive and checked on us regularly. I ordered my usual, a tequila sunrise, and it was delicious! The DJ had a great mix of music going, adding to the fun vibe. If you're looking for a casual spot to pop into before a downtown event, Tin Roof is the place. Bonus: the food is tasty and super affordable too!

Yelp
I was here on Halloween, the hotdog costume in khakis should have won. They let the girls in the Kim possible one piece win. It was bullshit. Good drinks. But the entertainment is off sometimes.
google avatar

Yelp
I went in the afternoon when it wasn't crazy, packed, and loud. In fact, I mostly found myself here because they were open and had plenty of seats available. When in Indy for the big Swiftie weekend, this was a rare find. They played Taylor Swift songs, they had cocktail specials, etc. So props for putting in effort to the draw the fans. I sat at the bar on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a beer and appetizer. I had the Nashville hot chicken dip, which was tasty, but on the small side. The bartenders were pleasant. The vibe and atmosphere were good. Thus, I'd be inclined to go here again. But that 4 star on this review may have come from all the Swift-ness.

Yelp
Tin Roof is most definitely a must stop when in Indianapolis. Featuring live music and decent drink prices, you can never go wrong. A crisp beer and loaded tots to start the night, didn't miss at all!
google avatar

Giselle P.

Yelp
A good spot for live music, reasonably priced drinks, and a fun night out in Indy. The service was middling - nothing exceptional, but certainly not poor. Drink prices were reasonable, making it an accessible option for those looking to enjoy some music and cocktails.

Yelp
Place is a great starter for the evening. Our waitress Jessica was awesome and timely. Also, avoid the actual holes in the men's restroom . Seriously tomb raider dodging holes.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Stopped in by chance and had a few drinks and dinner. The live music was extremely loud and was nothing more than mediocre strumming. The place is dark lacks personality and just feels a little dirty. They were out of a couple draft options on their menu so we made do with another selection. We had some tacos and quesadillas which were both decent bar food but nothing to write home about. Our bartender was friendly and filling us in on what else they had going on, based on the amount of bar type locations around town I doubt we would come back to this place.

Shellye L.

Yelp
fun vibes, great music and energy. but unfortunately had a bunch of men verbally attack my friends out of nowhere which kinda ruined the vibes. but was fine otherwise.

Yelp
Didn't have any food here, but came here for New Years Eve! Drinks were priced as I expected, not anything too crazy. I got drunk so that was good. Bartenders were quick and nice! Line for bathrooms was insane. Waited for almost 30 minutes. Just was so busy so can't really blame them. Live music was so fun! The DJ was a nice guy and the band was fun. Overall had a great time with my boyfriend. Happy New Year!

Sabrina M.

Yelp
I was visiting my friend for the NBA Finals and got yelled at by a male staff member. We saw a pile of chairs and pulled two out. He screamed that those chairs were in the back for a reason and grabbed them from us before we could even apologize. At first, I was taken aback by the vitriol, but felt bad for unknowingly breaking the rules. Then I realized they're selectively enforced. We stayed until the end of the quarter and saw a group of (white) girls take the same chairs and walk right past staff with no issues. My friend and I were singled out, I can only guess it's because I'm asian and she's black. I grew up in Indy but spent my entire adult life in Chicago/San Diego, so I honestly forgot how dehumanizing it feels to be a WOC in Indiana. The incredible staff at Tin Roof gave me the authentic Indiana experience. It would be even more nostalgic if they then blame us for being offended by racism.

Dylan L.

Yelp
Loved the live music! The food was good, and the staff was wonderful and very nice. 10/10

Kye Z.

Yelp
The worst bar I've ever been too, not because the prices or drinks but the service Friend lost his phone and the bartenders would let him see if it was his Terrible hostesses and people Called me and my friend names and yelled at us Will never be going back
google avatar

Sheree W.

Yelp
I'm giving this place stars based on what it is. So is it your top of the line lounge with fantastic cocktail menu? No, its a bar with plastic cups and cheap drinks! We decided to stop in here after dinner just to grab a quick nite cap before heading home. It was about 8pm and it wasn't packed at all. We were able to grab a seat at the bar. There was no cover at that time. There was an amazing band playing. They were playing everything from Prince to Redhot Chilli Peppers, just a really good mix of music. The bartenders were super nice and provided great service. I ordered a flavored vodka drink and soda water, I can't recall how much it was but I remember it being cheap. As the night continued it started to get more and more crowded and they were charging a $5 cover. That's about the time we made our exit but I can tell if you want to have a good time, this would be the place to come.
google avatar

Abby M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a late night bar with fun music & college vibes, this is the place! The band was really fun and played great songs. The bar was crowded and difficult to get a drink, but this is expected in this environment. There was a $10 cover when we came around midnight. The drinks are strong for super cheap also!
google avatar

Yelp
Before writing a review (especially If I'm not writing a 5 star review) I read the reviews that others have written lately. Mainly to see if I had an isolated bad experience. But in this case that is not the issue. This place is not clean, it's boring; absolutely no atmosphere to it. Oh, can I have wine in a plastic cup please?? wow. Their Cincinnati location is nicer!
google avatar

Troy M.

Yelp
The main reason my wife and I like to go here is due to the music talent that performs there. They have great drinks, but the food menu is average at best. That's ok because I don't go there to eat. The sound here to me is not that good. It could be due to the building and space etc,, but it's really hard to hear clarity from the lead singer when the entire band is playing. Solos by lead singer is much better. It's very loud inside but the atmosphere, the really nice staff all make up for it.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
Hate that Tin Roof isn't getting the amount of business that they did pre-Covid. I think that there is a large stigma around this being only a place for drinks but the food is actually really good! Still typical American bar food, but you can't beat it. The Nashville locations have people coming in for lunch and dinner all the time, and I wish the same thing would happen for Indy! Even if you're not looking for food, the drinks are well priced and always live music. Only giving this place a four stars because I miss the traditional country/cover band music...they recently only have DJs, but maybe that's because of COVID. But maybe that's your type of thing, so regardless go listen to some music, eat good food, and drink a little drink!
google avatar

Yelp
This is your sign to grab your friends and head to Tin Roof for a Sunday Funday! With their live music and friendly staff, you and your crew are sure to have a fun time! We dropped in after brunch and had a few bottles of champagne, listened to live music, and just enjoyed being out and about. The staff are always super friendly and inviting, there's plenty of big tables to hold your groups, and mimosas to go around!

Yelp
Thought I was going to feel exactly 100 years old stepping into this place for a free country concert last week but it turned out there was a nice range of ages present. It was a nice set-up, was able to walk right in and stand by the stage and enjoy the music. No muss or fuss. Drinks and food are pretty standard for a casual bar (nothing to write home about), but location is great and music is awesome!

Michael H.

Yelp
I have been to the Tin Roof in Nashville several times and always had a great experience. Never had to pay a cover charge. After the KISS concert at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on 11/25/23, I suggested that we go over to the Tin Roof, Indy. I told my friends about the great experiences I had in Nashville so they agreed to go. We were met by a rude doorman who told us there was a $15 cover. I told him that I had never been charged a cover at the one in Nashville and none of us had cash. He chuckled and said "sorry about your luck". Needless to say, we went somewhere else and I'll never go back to the Tin Roof, Indianapolis. I guess the one in Nashville competes with all the other bars on Broadway that don't charge a cover and the owners of the Indy Tin Roof don't have that kind of competition so they can take advantage of people.

Yelp
Looking for a jam packed and lively bar?? This is it!! Super casual and young clientele bar. They've always had live music when I've been here. It's also always been packed like sardines, but it's one of the most fun and lively bars in Indy so there no doubt why.

Monique B.

Yelp
First there was nats frozen in our ice. Then we discovered more floating at the bottom of our cups. Totally disgusting and unsanitary. I don't know anyone that wants dirt or bugs served fresh to them. Thankfully we noticed early and got out of that place. I really deserved a refund. I'll never return to this place. To different drinks, both disgusting. The owner needs to take care of this issue!! I've lived in Indy all my life and never served a dirty drink. Thankfully we were sober and noticed. A lot of folks were they before the kiss concert. There's no telling what was in their drinks. This demands attention!! Gotta do better or get people sick from whatever is going on behind that bar!!
google avatar

Bianca C.

Yelp
I was denied service with my state-issued temporary ID (the paper copy that the BMV gives you if you misplace your ID). I understand if it's policy and you politely deny, but I was told that I could "print this in my basement" and then heard the bartender tell their coworker that I was a "high schooler". I'm 23.

Yelp
We went to Tin Roof last night for dinner before the Garth Brooks concert. The place was pretty busy being so close to Bankers Life Fieldhouse. We sat outside and shared a table with another mother daughter that were also going to the concert. It took over 15 minutes for the waitress to come and get our drink order. So I made sure we ordered our food then so we would not have to wait for her to come back again. It took another 20+ minutes to get our drinks. Yes I know they were busy but that is just crazy. About another hour later we received our sandwiches. I ordered the shrimp po boy with fries. It was a good sandwich, it had 6 shrimps lettuce tomato pickles and a spicy mayo. And the fries were still hot so that was a plus! So in total it took us over two hours to have dinner. You would think being so close to Bankers Life they would have mastered large crowds but they have not. So get there early before your event is to start.

Yelp
Where's the cat for this hot tin roof? Tin Roof has, without a doubt, one of the BEST locations in downtown Indy. Conveniently placed right on the corner of Pennsylvania, one block away from Conseco Fieldhouse, they perfectly placed for game-day fun. The decor inside is like an Applebee's on steroids, with every wall covered with nostalgic paraphernalia. One pro for Tin Roof is that the drinks (specials) are cheap, and the bartenders pout heavy. The food, sadly leaves a bit to be desired. Everything I've had here is decidedly bland and forgettable. A few tweaks and a dash of seasoning here and there could turn food with good potential into food with good flavor. If I understand correctly, there's live entertainment and/or a DJ on the weekends, so maybe that makes up for Tin Roof's shortcomings. I wouldn't call it a must-visit spot, but if you're in the area - it won't hurt to pop in.
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
This is a place that has a unique charm in its own way, it's located kitty corner from bankers life field house. The decorations are a combination of Christmas lights, old signs, and a dressed up boars head. Lots of tvs and they usually have good games playing on tv. On Monday's they host indy live trivia and then Tuesday's is dj bingo. Also tend to have a lot of live music as well which can be fun. Patio options for when we have that 4 month stretch of decent weather in the area. As for food there's some interesting choices. Lots of appetizers, street tacos, quesadillas, sandwiches and burgers. I picked the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and was not disappointed, just the right amount of spice, with potato salad on Texas toast. Different drink specials each day, Monday's are dollar off drafts which is perfect for trivia, have to head back on a Sunday to try the Bloody Mary.

Yelp
I like this place and now it's quiet the drinks are good prices are OK bartender sweet I'll be back
google avatar

Sierra E.

Yelp
This place turned into a country bar because a bunch of country folk showed up and paid the bartenders $100 to play crappy country music. It wasn't the vibe for anyone else. That is all. Addendum *** Then we asked if we could play something else because our new friends said so - the bartender said ONLY IF WE WOULD TIP Addendum #2 *** I was drunk when I wrote this - I am not a Karen

Emily W.

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink to end our night, & we were greeted with a very rude group of boys. Not knowing they were closed due to the doors being wide open, we stepped in & asked to use the bathroom & they said they were closed - go use an alley way. Then one of the workers engaged in stirring up something saying "you feel entitled huh you feel entitled" to my husband for needing a TOILET (wtf?) it's one thing to just say we are closed but when someone is just asking to use a toilet, isn't it humane to just understand & let someone use a nasty urinal anyways? What was the harm? (Truly think about that one) I would. They were extremely rude & childish. Obviously wanted to start something with us for no good reason. Online it says open until 3am & it was not yet 3am. Absolutely unnecessary.
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
Have never eaten here and only been once for a concert so keep that in mind. Saw a small country artist, Spencer Crandall, here and it was a decent place for live music. It is a bit too divey for my taste and the combo of plastic cups and neon signs makes it feel very college. If that's your scene you will love it. Definitely don't recommend for like a first date spot.
google avatar

Ahmad M.

Yelp
What else can you ask for? Good service, good food and good music. And don't forget the drinks. My experience here was good all around. I ordered the fish tacos, fries and a Space Dust IPA. I want to kiss the ‍ cook! A splash of lime made the tacos exceptional. The fries were foire (that means good for the ebonically challenged). The GM Shelby showed me what great service is all about and the bar tender never let a few minutes go by without checking in on me. Well done Tin Roof. I'll be in here again for more.

Brian C.

Yelp
Great Food, Huge Portions, Great Price. The chicken is delicious. Grab this on the way out to your resort. You will not be dissappointed
google avatar

Niki B.

Yelp
Come here for: a weekend night with your friends Don't come here for: a foodie meal with your family Pros: - no cover - huge bar - frequently live music - loads of colorful twinkle lights - perfect college-bar vibe - sitting outside (it's open up during the warm months to picnic tables) Yes, it can get crowded, but if you're going with the mindset to go out for a night on the town, you'll have a great time.
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
Came to watch a sporting event. Fun venue. I wanted food and thanks to yelp and pretty much only photos of quesadillas I went with the chicken quesadilla, which was really good for bar food. It came with chips and salsa but they only gave like 10 chips, I suggest the tator tots they look as good as they taste. I was surprised to find on my bills a 0.75 charge for a side of ranch without the waiter mentioning it. The drinks are pretty expensive for a small cups worth. Food was excellent I would eat it again. Would not come just for drinks though.
google avatar

Sigrid W.

Yelp
I come here first and foremost for Bingo on Tuesday. This is a fun activity with cool prizes such as concert tickets or cd packs, stuff like that. And various numbers have specific call outs... such as 31 is followed by the entire bar yelling: Boom Baby... Miller time... I generally drink Sun King which they serve here. I had their chips and queso which is not bad at all.
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
Do not go to tin roof right now. Still playing by the book on limited capacity (though Marion is no longer under mask mandate). 20+ minute wait HAD TO BE ESCORTED JUST TO USE THE BATHROOM! Drink orders take 20+ minutes.
google avatar

Alice N.

Yelp
Hidden Gem on weekends live music, good food, great staff and lots of space for distancing non busy place on weekend afternoons.
google avatar

Bo T.

Yelp
Really enjoy this bar weekend nights. Live music and nice outside seating. Go earlier so cover is cheaper $5 v $10. Takes a while to get drinks so order two at once. Bathrooms are always a little rachet but what else do you expect from a place like this. Never had the food so can't judge.
google avatar

Brittany S.

Yelp
I'm trying, I'm trying really hard to put my finger on why it is this place just doesn't seem to do it for me - maybe it's the general feel that somewhat resembles those college-y type bars with excessive lights and decor that go in no direction or maybe it was that the food didn't make me jump out of my pants. I have a hard time spending say $10 on junk-esque food I can make at home. Several of my close friends like to come here for karaoke or the live entertainment. It'd probably help my case if, I, myself, were a karaoke enthusiast (watching, not performing, is my specialty). I'm certain that thanks to my friends I'll be back but I probably won't be cracking open the food menu.
google avatar

Miranda D.

Yelp
This is a great option for live music in downtown Indianapolis. However, on Saturdays it's always packed wall to wall and very dark in the space. It can be very difficult to get a drink from the bar or get through the crowd with friends. If you are looking for a large party culture, this bar is great for you. If you're looking for a space with good service where you can talk to the people you came with, this is probably not the spot for you. Again, good live music options and great for dancing and parties.

Miguel L.

Yelp
So, my brother and my friends went here to celebrate a reunion. But, the minute my brother and I went to the bathroom, one of the employees said that we needed to go. To give a good description, the employee had gauges on his ears and was caucasian while the other had black earrings and was african american. The caucasian employee stated that my brother was stumbling and too drunk and told us we were getting kicked out. I told the employee my brother only had two drinks and showed no signs of stumbling. The african american employee stated there were too many complaints from patrons about my brother. I asked them who the patrons were, and they proceeded to not give any evidence whatsoever of the complaints on my brother. They just said that they didn't know them and can't find them. My brother was not even drunk, but the employees insisted that he was too drunk to be in the club. We proceeded to get kicked out. I asked for the manager, and the employees refused to have me see the manager. The staff was not friendly, and I believe the reason we got kicked out was because they were trying to get more people in. We were polite to all of you, and this is how we get treated? Train your employees better and stop hiring these egotistical employees. This was outrageous, and I am never coming back here again after tonight.

Megan S.

Yelp
Warning people not to go to this place. My boyfriend went stone sober and left after two drinks completely obliterated. And the scariest part is it isn't the first time this has happened to someone we know. Please don't go here and if you do be careful

Eric G.

Yelp
The chubby bartender with the glasses was extremely intoxicated and rude to guests. He would purposely skip over guests that had just walked in in order to serve his friends and women. When asked to get drinks he was very rude and sometimes refused serve blatantly because he didn't want to make the drinks while his coworkers picked up his slack. As a former food service worker he is the worst kind of employee and drags the whole business down.
google avatar

Jason T.

Yelp
Great place. Food is great. Staff is friendly. Prices are excellent. We could have chosen to have a Birthday Lunch anywhere, but we are glad we walked in this place. We will definitely be back

Rob S.

Yelp
Arrived around 7:30 for a good bar seat for the band. Ran a good tab and about 9:30 was approached by the staff and I formed i needed to give my seat immediately. Appears no seating allowed after 10pm and was treated very harshly by the floor staff. Tan a good bill, and was planning to continue for the rest of the night. Treatment from the floor staff was over the top just rude. I fact, they physically removed the couple next to me. Serious violation of the American disabilities act. Would have been much better if forewarned and given the opportunity out to a least close out my tab. From Detroit and have never seen a more abusive floor staff, soooo disappointed , previously held a much higher standard for downtown Indy.
google avatar

Isabella R.

Yelp
Went for Drag Queen brunch. What a disaster. Hot inside, no suitable a/c. Tennis shoes stuck to the floor ‍ table stickie no service for 10 minutes and by then the MC of the Drag Queen brunch started yelling obscenities and we (a table of six) decided this was not the place we wanted to spend our money. All in all, just crap experience and we won't be going back again.

Renee R.

Yelp
Rude. Laughed when I ordered a drink they couldn't make. Dirty. Broken furniture. Horrible on every level...except musicians. Highly DO NOT recommend.
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in to Tin Roof bar to get something to eat and drink. Sara suggested that I try the Nashville hot chicken and let me tell you, it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten. My husband had the hamburger and he loved it as well. Sara was super friendly and attentive! I would recommend this unique place to anyone visiting Indianapolis.
google avatar

Yelp
We've been to the Tin Roof in other cities and this one was basically like all of the others. It's a decent place with decent food. We went on a Thursday afternoon and the place was dead, which is to be expected. Domestic pitchers were on happy hour special so we got a pitcher of Coors light. We were about halfway through our first pint when we both commented on the flatness and warmth of the beer. Turns out, it was the end of the keg that was put into a pitcher and set aside PRIOR to us entering/ordering. I wish we had known that before we started drinking it. BUT it was $5 so we just finished it and moved to cans after that. We ordered the fried pickles and pork rinds because appetizers were 1/2 price for happy hour. The pickles were good but WAY TOO salty (we couldn't finish them) and my husband said the pork rinds were pretty good. Bottom line - this place is familiar to us so we'll stop in for a drink or two. It's nothing great but it's certainly not terrible.
