French Restaurant and Wine Bar Opening at Westside’s Stockyards | Eater Atlanta

"An adjoining wine bar opening late 2018 in Westside’s Stockyards development that draws on the chef’s family and southern French heritage and is named for the family matriarch. It will serve wine-forward small plates such as cheeses, crudo, olives, and pissaladière—a Provençal pizza-like classic topped with caramelized onions, black olives and anchovies. Design details include stenciled reproductions of the matriarch’s handwritten recipes on the walls; the bar will share a kitchen with the full-service Provençal restaurant and feature a wine list focused on French imports." - Beth McKibben

Google
Fantastic Chinese food and excellent service! Our food was ready within 20 minutes even though it was a busy holiday. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, and the portions were generous. Highly recommend Tin Tsin. We will definitely be back.

Google
Reading these reviews like What?!? These reviews are very misleading to those of us who actually have a pallet. Our food was absolutely tasteless so maybe they forgot to add msg or salt. Also my bf had something crunchy in his rice, like pieces of an eggshell? My general tso chicken was mushy, zero crunch. $24 for 2 comb plates that we couldn’t bear to eat. These restaurants, yes even take out, need to take pride in the food they serve. Oh and the 5 ⭐️ reviews, stop exaggerating unless you’re serious and in that case, my regards. I Refuse to waste my very hard earned money on below mid food. The 2 stars were for the speedy service.

Google
I ordered pickup on DoorDash. I got there 10 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready. When I arrived they had no idea I had even ordered and hadn’t started making my food. After about 10-15 minutes I got my food and went home. When I opened my meal I was just completely missing the chicken tenders that were part of my order. The general tso chicken also had a fishy aftertaste. I’ve never left a review before, but this was really bad.

Google
I absolutely love tinsin and have never had any bad food from there until now. I got my favorite soup there tonight and it wasn’t even edible. The amount of salt that was put into it made me spit it back out. I’m disappointed I spent money on it for my dinner and I couldn’t even have it.

Google
Ordered from Grubhub and specifically said no onions or sprouts. My food was loaded with them. When I called, I was yelled at being told I did not mention no sprouts and he would show me the order receipt. I explained the receipt printed on my delivery said no onion or sprouts. He continued to argue telling me I did not leave special instructions. Terrible, rude customer service. Definitely do not suggest doing business here. My first… and last time.

Google
Tin Tsin has very good prices and really efficient food service. The owner is also kind and helps with customers whenever he can. I come here every week and I don’t regret it!

Google
I have been going to Tim tsin for years and loved it every time, however last night I ordered through door dash and it was like all their recipes changed and not for the better. I’m leaving this here as 5 stars because I’m assuming it’s a one off. Will order again to make sure but over the years they have definitely earned 5 stars from me.

Google
The restaurant seems like a storage unit. Still stuck in 2020. But I didn't let that stop me from trying it, maybe I should have. The crab ragoons barely had any filling all I tasted was wonton wrap. The chicken was chewy and did not taste good at all. Threw out the whole meal that's how unappetizing it was. Pretty disappointed! I cannot reply to the owner: Not really sure what your ranting about. How you responded does not make sense toy review. We didn't order or received a wonton soup. I'm not slandering your business. I'm giving an honest review from my point of view. You can have the cheapest prices around with quantity. But if the food isn't quality, and it gets thrown out. Then I'd rather pay more to enjoy the food I paid for. Best of luck

Yelp
I have not found good chinese food until this restaurant moved from Jersey to here and had a couple lack luster places until this one. The best most flavorful shrimp fried rice and sesame chicken I have tasted in a long time.

Yelp
Good for take out . He's gone up in price but not excessive. Shrimp and broccoli is very good. Convenient for me . He much rather have cash than debit .

Pat M.

Yelp
Combo plate was terrible! Dining area is a mess doesn't look like restaurant not to mention flies. ALSO GIVES CHEAP PLASTIS FORKS,Cannot pick food up with it don't waste your money. Go to hei palace or hong Kong buffet

Frankie C.

Yelp
I know we don't have much of a selection as far as quality Chinese food goes here in Johnston Smithfield area. We've tried Tin Tins restaurant on several occasions and each time was worse than the time before. This last time we spent well over $100 hoping that the quality would improve. We had a little dinner party and we were so embarrassed. We could not serve it. When teenagers say no thanks it taste bad. You know you're onto some horrible meal. We tried it. The only thing that was good and I will give them credit where the eggrolls. None of the vegetables seem fresh and crispy. This really was a disaster. I'm never coming back. Don't waste your time don't waste your money. I hope you guys turn it around. You're in a fantastic location. And you've got a great opportunity. I hope you take this review seriously and work on the quality of your food. You have a captive audience everybody loves Chinese food. You guys need to focus on putting a quality product out. I guarantee you will increase your sales and customer base.

Yelp
i've never been disappointed there. Everything is great from the looming to the chow mein to the fried wontons with crabby delicious. Love it.

Chanthou L.

Yelp
Omg!!! This was a hidden gem!! I always drove by it whenever I'm in the area and always wondering is this Chinese place good but then again I wasn't quite sure of the taste. It might not have that authentic flavor but me and my husband decided to give it a try one weekend and we ordered like over $100 worth of food that lasts us for a whole week. Yes we had Chinese food from here for the whole week, and I have to say even with the leftovers it was still good. The flavor was still there. We were not disappointed at all everything that we order from there was really good and yes, I would order from there again. The service was great. They were fast the place I haven't been in there yet my husband have he said a really nice and clean un like the other Chinese takeout please are super cold gloomy.

Brennan W.

Yelp
Amazing food and friendly staff! Highly Recommend them. Tin Tsin is a hidden gem--flavorful dishes, warm service, and an unforgettable dining experience

Yelp
My brother and gf were visiting from Florida and wanted some RI chinese food. We ordered from Tin Tsin and the food was fresh, hot, and ready for pick up when they said it would be. We had the sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, fried rice, crab rangoon, beef teriyaki, and egg rolls. Nobody had a complaint, even the 11 year old.
google avatar

Rozet S.

Yelp
Pretty solid spot for takeout! We ordered the sesame chicken with rice and the dinner Combo plate of fried rice, teriyaki chicken, wings and boneless ribs. Everything was delicious!

Debbi L.

Yelp
My family's all-time favorite restaurant! The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. We're also loving the new addition of bubble tea - a perfect treat to enjoy with our meal."
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
By far the worst take out food I've ever gotten. It literally went in the dumpster. Chicken was inedible it was all tendons rice was 100% more salt than it should have been the teriyaki stick wasn't bad but I do question what animal it was from. All that served up with a bunch of attitude. Then pay w a card you get 'You got no cash ?' place was a disaster. I should've never done that but you live in Lauren.

Endriw A.

Yelp
Best place to try today. Good coustmer service. Fresh food. Chicken broccoli very good. Egg roll too . Thanks good people service. Nice clean restaurant. Highly recommended. This place

William H.

Yelp
great food and excellent quality! The staff is friendly and courteous. Best in the area for sure
google avatar

Cheley G.

Yelp
Food is good for a small place and worth the money. Items are fairly inexpensive for the amount you get. Crab Rangoon, pork wonton, egg rolls, spring rolls, dumplings and fried rice are excellent. The beef teriyaki is actually beef teriyaki, not with the red sauce! Lo mein is served hot with fresh vegetables and it's not dry on the sauce. Chicken rice soup is also good. All in all, yes, it's like mall Chinese food, but it's better, cheaper and you get good portions. I am a returning customer. Good eats: Crab Rangoon, Beef/Pork/Chicken/shrimp or House (all meats) Lo Mein, Boneless Spare Ribs (more sweet), Fried or steamed Dumplings, Fried Shrimp, Spring Rolls, Sticky Wings, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork.

Lizzy S.

Yelp
A big disappointment! I had a bad feeling as soon as I stepped inside to pick up our take out order. It was a mess, boxes everywhere, dirty, looked like a storage area. Obviously they don't take any pride in their appearance. The food was also a disappointment. The spareribs were so chewy , like rubber, you could even chew it. The chicken entree was drowning in sauce. I certainly won't be going back again. If you read this before you consider going there, choose a different restaurant :(
google avatar

Scott D.

Yelp
This place was a my favorite Chinese food spot for about 12 years but over the past few months the food has become inedible. I do not understand what has happened. Not sure if there is new ownership but something definitely changed. I thought maybe it was one off day when I ordered but it wasn't. Sad to admit, but I have to find a new place to order food. Disappointed customer
google avatar

Alicia C.

Yelp
This place had the audacity to toss menus all over my street and my lawn as well as my neighborhood's lawns. I would definitely not order or dine here after this. Now we have rainy wet paper menus littered all over esmond. Who's idea was this? Be smart Tin Tsin. There are more ways to promote your restaurant than littering the streets of Smithfield.

Bruce N.

Yelp
We had to stop in at Urgent Care and planned to pick up Chinese food in North Scituate on the way home. Since we were right next to Tin Tsin we figured it made more sense to get it there. Years ago we bought from Tin Tsin and it was pretty good. We got garlic chicken, beef with green beans and egg rolls. Everything was pretty much tasteless. Usually We look forward to the next days leftovers. These leftovers went into the trash. Never again.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Solid Chinese take out. Nothing overly impressive. Your typical joint and your typical prices. Only thing I don't love is that if you spend $50 you get some free fried rice but not if you got any sort of combo which is kind of dumb cuz $50 is $50 who cares how I spent it. Plus who doesn't get a combo when they order takeout?!?!
google avatar

Robert A.

Yelp
Your typical, no frills Chinese takeout restaurant. The prices are good, the food is decent, but nothing to write home about. If you're looking for a quick bite, this will do the trick. The boneless ribs are good; they aren't dry and are covered in sauce. The kung pao chicken has a nice and spicy kick to it. Solid meal for eating after a night of drinking Bud heavy.

Yelp
They messed up my order. And the guy taking it was a dick. I'm sorry I made you do your job,,but no worry's I won't be back

Eliza W.

Yelp
This used to be one of our favorite go to restaurants. The business has sold to the next generation and not really happy with the service an longer. Last week my husband ordered food, they rang up one price and charged his card for another, in addition... he realized he did not receive the order he placed. Gave another chance yesterday, called in an order for Sweet & Sour Chicken, wonton soup, and shrimp with pea pods... the food wasn't bad but.... AGAIN when we opened up our order there was NO Sweet & Sour Sauce. The main attraction to the meal. called and complained - went and picked up the sauce, they told me that I should have checked the order... For 17+ years I never had to 'check' my order... asked why when I never had to before. They were rude and I will never go back again.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
Go there for quick Chinese food. Good portions and the prices are pretty good. Check them out you will be surprised

Victoria S.

Yelp
Just disgusting nothing is the way it's supposed to be don't waste your time or money on tin Tsin

Conor O.

Yelp
One of the best in area. Good quality Chinese food. Always consistent. Orders prepared in timely manner

Dong R.

Yelp
By far one of my favorites local food restaurant.food is always wonderful. The manner of the family who owns the restaurant is always friendly. And the price for the amount of food is more than worth it! Good price in town. I've been going for many years. And have never had a single thing wrong. Good place. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Alicia K.

Yelp
Service is good, quality of food not so great. Run of the mill Chinese food. Price is right, but the general tso's is battery, and not great quality chicken. Beef lo mein was great. Fried rice was.... rice and seasoning and onion. Good if you're in a quick bind and need something quick that isn't fast food, but even Panda Express is better.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
I don't get all of the bad reviews about this place. I live close and go all of the time and none of the food is pre-made. You put your order in and they make it right in front of you. I have never had a bad meal here and if you read any of my other reviews I wouldn't hold back, especially about Chinese food. Tip: This is a take out place so don't expect to sit down, but they do have a couple of tables if your in a pinch. Tip 2: Grab a take out lunch here, the prices are cheap and the food is very fresh. I always order the spicy broccoli lunch which comes with rice and an egg roll. The egg rolls are always fried to order so they are never soggy. They also have great wonton soup if you have a cold. Give this place a try and write a review, they could use some good pub. Thanks
google avatar

JLynn C.

Yelp
After giving them another try I have to admit they seem to have gotten better. Tried the jumbo shrimp which were actually some of the best I've had and the chicken chow mein was really good. The bf tried the beef lo mein which was also a hit. I still think the prices are somewhat high but with no other good chinese places in the area it is worth it.

Lala R.

Yelp
I ordered a very large order today and quite a large variety as well. I took a chance on a few things I have never tried before and boy was everything wonderful! The chef was so nice and kind and asked my husband if we liked the food could we leave a review.... It's my honor. The food was excellent!!!! Thank you to Chef Jason!!! #perfection
google avatar

Anthony P.

Yelp
They are not "gourmet" by any means, but decent. Their stuff is home made and they are nice. I get an order of sweet and sour chicken and a small order of crab Rangoon every week for like $10.80. I even tip for pickup (which I never do) just because I think it's such a good value. Would like them to stick around!
google avatar

Sasha V.

Yelp
Convenient location, friendly staff, great parking food is good too. Plenty of seating, next to UPS & a Dry Cleaners that I love. I always get the General Tsaos.
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
The food seems average but the wait for food as a walk-in was ridiculous. It took nearly an hour before they said it was ready and likely had been sitting in the back for 15 minutes or so...
google avatar

Olivia U.

Yelp
I can't believe nothing has been written about this place! All in all- the hands down worst Chinese food in the entire world. I used to work at the Urgent Care next door and this was the only place that had vegan options near me at the time so I would get their crappy veggie lo mein and just deal with it. Literally though i am certain it is a front for money laundering it's that friggin horrible.

Yelp
I have waited a week or two to write this review and the memory of my "dining" experience at Tin Tsin has only gotten worse over time. I actually kind of want to vomit thinking about the food here. There is a small seating area but I got the feeling that we should just order at the counter, no table service would be provided. I ordered General Tso chicken which I never usually order but had a weird craving for that day. My girlfriend had Kung Pao chicken. Both entrees were part of a combo with fried rice and an egg roll. The food was provided in carry out containers with plastic silverware. There was plenty of it. The rice looked ok, everything looked ok. It was hot and apparently recently cooked, although I watched the pre-cooked "chicken" pieces dropped into a quick fryer bath for my General Tsos. This was the worst kind of General Tsos chicken. Seriously, zero meat enveloped in the rancid soggy, extremely salty mess of batter. Small sinewy strips of seldom utilized chicken fat, cartilage and tendon overwhelmed me as I tried to stomach this horrific pile of dog food like "cuisine". After about my third piece I bit into a nice crispily fried chunk of bone. Appetizing! About the same time as this I watched one of the cooks clear his throat loudly and spit into the garbage for about the third time. My egg roll was fine. My rice was ok. The place appeared fairly clean. But really this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had eating somewhere. My girlfriend pretty much concurred although there did seem to be pieces of actual chicken in the Kung Pao. Just disgusting.
google avatar

Tammy G.

Yelp
Been ordering from here for years. The food it good and it's reasonably priced. They are basically a take out place. I have ordered many different things. I have never had anything bad. They are friendly and the food is cooked right in front of you. The only thing I find is it needs updating. It's not very appealing when you walk in there.
google avatar

Ken H.

Yelp
Not the worse, but below average. I got fried dumplings and Kung Po Beef. The dumplings were just okay, but the Kung Po Beef was all filler and very little beef. Also, the sauce was thin and not very spicy. I would rather pay a little bit more and get better food. Note: Since I did not pick up the food, I can't comment on the interior,
google avatar

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Ordered food today for the first time ever and tge last time ever. Place is dumb as rocks. No duck sauce. No forks. And ordered my teriyake well done and the lady behind the counter actually tells me no thats too dry. Excuse me this is how your paying customer chooses to order their food. Never again i rather lick dirty sidewalk
google avatar

Bill L.

Yelp
Tried this place twice. Why?... Food is super greasy. The first time I had the beef and broccoli. I've never seen this come in a pool of oil before ordering here. The second visit I tried the chicken wings. It was so oily the sauce wasn't even sticking to the wings. Nasty is an understatement. There are MUCH better choices in the area such as Rangoon or Asia Grille.
google avatar

Justin M.

Yelp
Ok Chinese food for takeout Pretty much your average strip mall Chinese food, a bit on the greasy side but more than edible. Lo main is pretty good as are the egg rolls, boneless spare ribs not bad either. Not any place I would rush to go to again anytime soon, but if I happened to be in the area with a craving for Chinese, I may consider it
google avatar

Jose R.

Yelp
Not the greatest but consistent prolly best takeout around here. I dont get the bad rep there sticky wings might be my favorite i will continue to order from here

Sam S.

Yelp
I've experienced a few far better from Tin Tsin (and some mediocre, but still better), but not tonight. I've been getting food there 10-ish times per year for 18-ish years.... The worst mark against it is that it is highly inconsistent. They have an "American" menu (no real authentic Chinese). I usually order hot & sour soup, moo shi pork, kun pao chicken, 3 delights, or szechuan beef in some combination. I alway request extra spicy with fried chili peppers in the entrees. Tonight's was the worst ever. The hot & sour was a tasteless thick glop with white mushroom slices and tofu - nothing else (except a nod to scallions). Everything else was mild and bland - no chilis, no noticeable garlic, and very little meat compared with veg. Sorry Tin Tsin... I'm breaking up with you. I just can't do it any more.
google avatar

Tristan B.

Yelp
I don't get all the bad review for this place either. I really enjoyed mostly everything I have ordered. They have great prices, fresh food, and the best egg rolls around. I would drive over 20 minutes just for the egg rolls alone. They are always kind and make your order very quickly. Love this place!
google avatar

Jessi W.

Yelp
Food was ok. Prices were good. Service was very friendly. But the kicker was the chef that cooked our food hacking up loogeys the whole time we were trying to eat.....just adds that little something special if you ask me. Made our lunch a little nicer!
google avatar

Andy R.

Yelp
The food at Tin Tsin is greasy, decidedly below average, overpriced, and always served with a mandatory side of bad attitude if you dare to request anything as simple as "sauce on the side." They are likely only still in business due to the lack of less-awful competition in the immediate vicinity.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Love this place! What can I say, the food is made in woks right in front of you so you know its fresh. There is nothing I crave more than the won ton soup when I have a cold. Its the cure all for colds! Prices are very cheap also. Definitely a regular spot of mine.
google avatar

M H.

Yelp
My husband and I, after moving to Smithfield a few months ago, and after numerous (more than ten) trips here, can safely give this place five stars. The staff is very friendly and courteous, the food is made fresh, and never have they messed up our order. We will be steady customers for life!
google avatar

Alisha M.

Yelp
I have been known to get take out from here for my parents because it's the only Chinese place nearby and it's passable. They have your typical American Chinese food offerings. The broccoli with garlic sauce is okay. The crab rangoons are okay. The spring rolls are okay. The lo mein is okay. There are no tofu dishes. The fried shrimp are small shrimp in a whole lot of greasy batter, so I don't recommend it. The service is quick and friendly, but the food is mediocre. This is not a place I would go to on my own or recommend to others.

Dawn P.

Yelp
Worst Chinese food ever.Every dish had more celery and carrots than actual meat or seafood. The rice tasted very old and siff. Eggrolls super greasy.28$$ for garbage. Go across the st to Burger King. Thats pretty sad.
