A Weekend Travel Guide to Pittsburgh Restaurants | Eater DC

"Tina’s is an excellent nearby neighborhood bar—sadly it’s closed on Sundays, but it’s worth a visit when it’s open." - Missy Frederick

Google
Tina's was a really cool place. I loved the variety of cocktails and that they had information about when and where the cocktail originated. There were some excellent cocktails that I had never heard of before and was so pleased to be able to try. I would say this place is somewhere to go if you want a truly amazing drink with care put into it. I ordered both the Milk Punch and the Moon Martini. I recommend both. We ordered some things to eat as well. Great cheese options and the bread was delicious. Cool decor with a beautiful mural behind the bar.

Google
As someone who views cocktails as art and is usually disappointed by drinks out, this place wildly exceeded my expectations. The menu was very fun, the spirits used were great, and the specs were phenomenal. These were world class drinks. The ambiance and food were both great enhancements. And the prices were extremely reasonable (some drinks actually seemed underpriced). I had the Kingston Negroni, Coffey Park Swizzle, and my wife had a French 75.

Google
A rare find. A really cool neighborhood bar. I loved their menu of imported fish conservas. High-quality and delicious. Had a couple of these and a beer. Will eat through that list. Enjoyed my conversation with the bartender. People rave about the cocktails. Next time. The place looks great: cozy and welcoming. An interesting selection of wine and books in the back. Doesn’t look like much from the outside and parking can be challenging but definitely worth it. So many bars and restaurants are cookie-cutter. This place is an original.

Google
What a great concept and local bar! Went for apres dinner drinks/happy hour ordering negroni and black walnut Manhattan. Delish and sooo very reasonable. Their food selection is prepackaged goods, making for quick and easy snacking. Truffle potato chips, a must try! Easy, fun and comfy atmosphere. A must visit!

Google
Tinas is the go to superb cocktail spot. Hunter is my favorite bartender and her riffs are simply stunning. She makes the menu cocktails to spec effortlessly but can also riff on whatever you're feeling. All staff is knowledgeable and lovely. Highly recommend this place.

Google
Love Tina's!! Always feel welcomed and the small plates of food is always delicious and just enough to keep you filled up. Me and my wife like to get there early bc it tends to fill up. Also love this place bc walking down stairs to the restroom reminds me of my grandparents house in Lawrenceville which was set up the same. The drinks at Tina's are so refreshing and tasty!

Google
Wow. This place is fabulous. The atmosphere is really chill and eclectic. The drinks are magnificent and Ben the bartender is incredibly passionate about his work. Sit at the bar and he will craft you a cocktail that will blow your mind, then if you’re interested he will tell you why. If you enjoy great drinks, great atmosphere and great conversation, Tina’s is a must visit. Neighborhood is terrible, but wait a while and that will improve. Didn’t eat food there… yet. But I’ll be back soon.

Google
Tina’s is the kind of place that makes you want to become a regular. The staff was very friendly and personable without being the least bit overbearing. The drinks were delicious and they nailed my martini almost exactly like how I make my own at home. The bar is super cute inside and every song on the playlist was a jam. I’m definitely a convert!

Yelp
Nice cocktail bar with lovely drinks! Really well crafted cocktails. Ambiance is nice. Bartender was kind and knowledgeable, I didn't catch his name. We tried at least 3 different cocktails and all were good I didn't get food but they offer tinned fish & snacks. I love tinned fish and sardines so I will be back!

Yelp
My favorite cocktail bar in PGH. They recently redid the menu and took out the tiki section, but still an amazing bar. Dim lit and a line during the weekend. The women's restroom is ... nostalgic

Yelp
Beautiful spot for a nice drink out. Bartenders are so talented and absolutely obsessed with this place

Yelp
I got the upper cut which was cachaca, bauchant, grapefruit, lemon, angosture. It truly tasted like a yummy grapefruit juice. 10/10 My friend got the diamondback Manhattan, which was dry and came on strong with the chartruese and rye. It wasn't quite bready in flavor though. We also got the danish freshwater trout with focaccia. The focaccia was ok - kinda dry. But the fish was super tasty. I liked the slight bit of citrus in it and the fact that it did not taste metallic at all from the tin. Paired together, the salty, zesty fish and crispy focaccia was a good mix. I wish there was more bread though Super eclectic decor too

Yelp
This place has such an eclectic vibe and I'm really glad I went to try it out the other day. The menu was quite different from anything I've ever seen before. It is basically bread, cheese, and canned fish, such as sardines or tinned salmon. It may or may not be appealing to you. But maybe wanna give it a try. The drinks were really nicely handcrafted by bartenders and servers with funky outfits. There's a nice menu of drinks that are only seven dollars per cocktail. If you're in the area, you should give it a try. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's really lovely on the inside.

Yelp
Four of us stopped by yesterday around 8pm for a quick drink. We were able to get seated right away at one of their little booths for four. Our server was very attentive and did a great job of pacing when they stopped by. We got our drinks pretty quickly. They did separate checks for us when we asked and it was super convenient. Their cocktail menu is pretty great and I like how they have a small $7 cocktail menu section as well, which is fantastic in this economy. Everything else on their menu is pretty reasonably priced as well.

Yelp
Tina's is a great spot! The dark, moody lighting makes for a great date spot or just a spot for a true cocktail bar fan, as their menu features both classic cocktails and twists on classic cocktails. And while we didn't try it, Tina's also uniquely offers a good variety of tinned fish. I opted for a Bee's Knees, and I was very pleased with it. The tanginess of the lemon paired very well with the sweetness of the honey and the herby notes of the gin. Our server was very kind and attentive and made solid recommendations for those in our party who needed help picking a drink. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
New favorite cocktail bar alert Tina's BLEW ME AWAY! The service, the vibe, the MARTINIS. All of it. Chefs kiss. 10/10. That's it. That's the review. As a seasoned drinker and bar hopper in the city, trust me on this one.
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
Great cocktails! Cool decor! Skip the food! They have an extensive cocktail menu that includes a number of $7 specials, including 50-50 martinis (what I chose on my recent visit). The bottled beer selection is limited, so if you're craving a brewsky this may not be the place for you. The food is also...weird. They specialize in tinned fish. Not my jam. But for cocktails? Four stars.
google avatar

Isabel L.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in the city. Easily in my top 3. Ambiance, service, and drinks are amazing. Plus, love how their bathroom is covered with pictures of different Tina's! The vibe is cozy, yet fun and inviting. They have a small snack menu with different tinned fish but the real stars are of course the drinks. So many cocktails to choose from but I typically go with the French 75, my favorite cocktail. Tina's is very eco conscious which you don't see too often! It's mostly first come first serve although they do have reservations. I've never had a reservation and have been able to sit almost immediately (all weeknights and parties of 2-3), but I'm sure the reservation would really help if you're worried about getting a table.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
Best espresso martini I've had in a LONG time! Not too sweet, not too bitter, and not too creamy. Absolute perfection! Our server was friendly and service was quick. We did make a reservation in advance which I do recommend because it's a small place that gets busy! Loved the Gouda and focaccia bread too.
google avatar

Andrea T.

Yelp
We stopped at Tina's for an afternoon cocktail and snack. It was a cozy cocktail bar with plenty of seating. We were seated right away and the bar started to fill up as we were sitting there. The service was good and our drinks were made well. Tina's had an extensive cocktail menu and a nice food menu which included some snacks. We decided to order the olives along with our drinks.
google avatar

Suzan H.

Yelp
The bartenders are great. They are helpful and very knowledgeable. They are also super fun!! The drinks are really interesting. The cheese was a great add for relaxing with your cocktail.

Yelp
This is literally the cutest cocktail spot in Pittsburgh. It's definitely a IYKYK type of place and I like it like that. It's cool, classy, fun, moody, and just such a good vibe...kinda makes me feel like I'm in a dive bar in NYC. their cocktails are unbelievably good and so well priced too!! I've also tried the tinned mussels and for someone who never eats canned tuna/fish, I enjoyed it!

Art L.

Yelp
I haven't been up to Bloomfield for years. I saw Tina's on the list for Negroni Week bars, so, why not? What a cool, funky place. The vibe in there is inviting and definitely adds to the overall experience. The cocktails are superior. Very well crafted. Excellent Negronis. Their spin on other cocktails are worth the look. Had a cheese and Focaccia plate with olives that featured 2 Pennsylvania cheeses that were superb. Their tinned fish thing looks interesting, but isn't my thing at all. Overall, highly recommend. Who else does a $7.00 Negroni in 2025?
google avatar

Yelp
My friend and I went to their Winter special Sunday brunch and it was great!! The bakery stuff were made by _BreadCrumb on instagram and they were so good. Plenty of choices on focaccia and sweets made from high quality ingredients. Coffee choice was limited - drip only, but it was surprisingly delicious, and it's with free and unlimited refill, so we were very happy with it Plus all the alcohol drinks are also available during brunch hour, we didn't order any but the option are there! The atmosphere was lovely and the owners are super friendly, great service! Overall it was a great experience! I definitely want to go back for another brunch or maybe a drink!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Tina's a few times and it never disappoints. The host is always beyond friendly and makes Tina's just that more appealing. I love the dried flowers on the ceiling and energy Tina's has, they make the small space super comfortable! The cocktails are always spot on and the focaccia and cheese combos hit the spot with a few drinks!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know how to describe the inside of this place. Quirky. Like Grandma Fran's place with trees branches hanging from the ceiling, wood paneled walls, a coocoo clock, and taxodermied Mallards on the wall among other oddities. I don't know, but I LIKED IT. The bartender was top notch. I'll repeat, TOP NOTCH. Walked in and was warmly welcomed. He asked what we wanted to listen to so and I said the last place was jazz music, so anything but that. He put the Jock Jams radio station on, wouldn't have been my first choice, but I LIKED IT. Offered my friend a gin with their homemade tonic - so good! I drank a beer so can't really comment on that, but I'd go back for sure. Thank you to that nice bartender. Seriously solid experience.

Yelp
Tina's is consistently one of my favorite places to go for a drink in all of the greater Pittsburgh area. It's always packed with people, and their drinks are always cold and strong and very inexpensive. Their negroni menu alone makes my heart burst with joy! It's such a cozy ambiance and the decor is wonderfully eclectic, down to the bathroom decor and candles along the back staircase. I love that they have a few tasty snacks for patrons, too! I selfishly wish it was bigger for the sake of being able to bring more friends at any given time, but that would take away from the intimate feel and unique setup. I hope to try each negroni from their menu over time
google avatar

Alexa C.

Yelp
Tina's offers elevated cocktails in a eclectic, unpretentious atmosphere that I enjoy with friends time and time again. It's central to many other popular local cafes, bars, breweries, and going out spots, which makes Tina's a must to start or close out the night. It's been about a year since I last visited, here are my recent takes: Loves: Location Friendliness of bartenders Ruby cocktail ($1 went to Allies for Health + Wellbeing) Wine lushie Cocktail selection Misses: Had to ask bartender for drink menus Large hair found in cocktail/food menu No straws available for wine lushie, it was difficult to drink from the glass that it was served in
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
It's hard to tell from the outside, but inside this bar is a super hip and eclectic place to relax and enjoy unique cocktails alongside a small menu of snacks. I had the Zombie punch and it was such an amazing layering of flavors and just hit the spot! They have a large menu also of classic cocktails, including many different spins on the Negroni. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
This bar is a hidden gem!! We absolutely loved the vibes in here. The decor is really cute and the staff is super nice as well. We came on a Thursday night and it was emptier at 6:30 and slowly filled up towards 9:30. Their happy hour ends at 6 I believe. They have a pretty wide menu with tons of creative cocktails. I saw a big wine fridge in the back so I think the wine selection is large too. I really liked the Corpse Reviver #2 and Pisco Punch on their menu. They have frozen cocktails too that we will need to try next time! I love sitting at the bar too. They have small bites on their menu - mostly canned fish and snacks like chips and cheese and dipWe tried the tuna pate and really liked it! It definitely isn't for everyone but we were glad to try something new. They also have a spiritless menu which is really cool and great for those who are not drinking alcohol but still want a pretty drink. They have a really cool jukebox I haven't seen before in the front. The outside also has some outside seating which is nice. Overall, really glad to have discovered this spot!

Jenna C.

Yelp
Ben was our server and he was FANTASTIC!! this was my first time at Tina's and I absolutely LOVED IT.
google avatar

Gloria W.

Yelp
SUCH a fun and cozy bar! I love the decor, and the staff is so friendly. The focaccia is amazing (and only $6!), and the cocktails are decently priced ($9-14) and so so good. This has become a go-to spot for me when I'm in the neighborhood, and I have only good things to say about it.
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
Superb service, a cozy rustic-hipster decor, and amazing drinks. The best part? At a reasonable price!
google avatar

Jayme B.

Yelp
I stopped into Tina's for a nightcap on a Friday night. We found a couple of seats at the bar and were greeted right away. I ordered a glass of wine and my date ordered a mixed drink. There were a ton of different drink options, so that's a plus! The decor itself it so interesting! They have a random collection of items that just works for the space. We had a great time here- it wasn't too loud so we were able to talk, which is always nice! I would like to come back to Tina's in the future to try some more wines!
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place! It's very female friendly, clean, and cozy! I didn't snap a photo of my drink but the Oaxacan Negroni was a nice change of pace, it was made quickly and with finesse. I didn't get anything to eat, but the bread they were warming up to serve other patrons smelled like heaven!
google avatar

Sydney T.

Yelp
Tina's is one of my favorite cocktail bars in Pittsburgh hands down. Great vibes. Definitely for the younger college crowd. But the cocktails never disappoint and we love coming with friends! Such a great spot all around.
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
What a fun gem to stumble upon! I was brought here by a friend and fell in love. I've been back three times and recommended it to others. I really enjoyed the ambiance; I've never had a bad time there. There's something about it that lends to great conversation. The cocktails were wonderful, along with the bartender. I've never ordered any food.
google avatar

Cayla S.

Yelp
What a special place to be on a holiday weekend! We stopped at Tina's during our bar hopping adventure, and it was worth the walk! Very small but super cozy. Divey but classy. The drink menu is superbly innovative. My favorite drinks last night were the Pineapple Daiquiri and Shirley Cobbler. I see that they open at 2pm most days. Let's just say I can't wait to come here to sit at the bar with a great book while I enjoy a cocktail. Count me in! This is a treat to myself that I'm looking forward to. Until then, know that ending our bar hop here last night was awesome!
google avatar

Ed L.

Yelp
Tina's is a cozy upscale dive bar with no TVs so you are forced to interact with the people around you. They have an amazing selection of both classic and modern cocktails but also offer a shot and a beer. As of late, they have also curated a very nice selection of wines. They do also have some small snacks available but is mostly just drinks.
google avatar

River S.

Yelp
Every time I go to Tina's it's been such a great, kind of Pittsburgh reunion. Plenty of great people on both sides of the bar. Their menu is exquisite and has introduced me to so many classic, and funky new versions of cocktails that I never thought I'd like before. Being waited on at the tables or ordering in a more traditional style from the bar stools has always given this place a very adverse, fun and personable feel. Tinas, with the many memories I have, feels like an old book that you think fondly of, and are overcome with a sense of nostalgia and warmth in your heart upon returning to. I will forever recommend this bar to anyone in the Pittsburgh area as long as the establishment stands. Haven't been in a while since being sober but figured I'd give them a review since they've been so good to me. (Sorry for all of the drunk poetry left on my table)

Kim Z.

Yelp
Excellent cocktail selection and fun vibe. Visited before dinner reservation nearby. Great service and engaging bartender and host!

K V.

Yelp
Great bar. More laid back but drinks are always good. We love their bread and cheeses. Not a huge tin fish fan so haven't tried that yet but maybe next time.

Dan V.

Yelp
By far the chillest, most laid-back cocktail bar in the city. Nothing super fancy, but far from a dive. Cocktails are well-prepared, service is excellent, and they even have a wine-by-the-bottle offering. Negroni menu to boot. It's one of the few places in Pittsburgh that has a little bit of a night life without being a zoo -- weekday or weekend.
google avatar

Danji L.

Yelp
our server had to cover all the tables. we waited more than 30 mins for the food to come out. the focaccia bread and the cod fish were 3 out of 5, but definitely not worth the extremely long wait time. the ceiling decor was adorable!! we enjoyed the low-fi music too, just the right volume for us to hear each other. bar tender was very kind to let me charge my phone. overall 4/5 experience but probably will come back for drinks.
google avatar

Annika D.

Yelp
I always call Tina's my favorite bar in Pittsburgh. It has that local, neighborhood bar type feel with regular visitors. It's hip and retro on the edge of Lawrenceville with cute booths, a jukebox (that's free during happy hour!), board games, and great drinks. It can get pretty packed and when that happens it can be hard to find a spot and service gets a little slow, but that's not unusual at all for a popular place and Tina's fab vibe is totally worth it!!
google avatar

Tricia B.

Yelp
Ecclectic!! The most unique place i have ever been. Tantelizing to your senses and your tastebuds. You will get educated on cocktails and the best part...the food menu...the entire place is an experience. Its a must.
google avatar

Matt N.

Yelp
My favorite bar in Pittsburgh. Hip and cozy ambiance with a great cocktail menu as well. Drinks are fairly priced. Great food options to snack on while there too. Would come early on a weekend as seating typically fills up quickly.
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
Tina's is a cute little cocktail bar and pretty affordable for the quality of drinks. They have some cheeses and tinned fish, and some board games. This is not a great place to go with a large group because it is very small and gets super packed (especially on weekends) but I have had only good experiences here! Just don't plan on coming here with more than 5 people. Even with 2 people, you will likely have to wait a bit for seating if you come on a Friday/Saturday night.
google avatar

Karla D.

Yelp
Yelp what happened to my original review?? I had a lengthy review and was the first one to do so. Ugh. Anyway I'm here all of the time because it's my neighborhood bar and I love it!!' High end craft cocktails at more than reasonable prices. Probably the best in the city for flavor and cost. I absolutely love the staff. They're so knowledgeable, friendly, fun and kind. The food is super delish. I love the tomato bisque soup and salted caramel grilled cheese. This former Teabags bar has transformed into a lovely, cozy lodge feeling local gathering spot. Seriously so happy to have this place in the neighborhood.

Rebecca J.

Yelp
Great spot for a cocktail! Our waitress was super nice and added to our celebration.

Grace C.

Yelp
Went to Tina's for drinks - Great vibe and friendly service! Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Naveen S.

Yelp
Pretty cool vibe on the insides. We shows up at 8pm on a Friday night and were told it would be 20-30 mins for us to get a table for 5, but that we could stand near the front and still order drinks while we waited for our table. 5 mins later they told us our table would be ready shortly. Their cocktail menu is HUGE. Despite this, it's still very well curated. I don't think there was a single cocktail on this menu I wouldn't have ordered - everything looked fantastic. I love that they had an island/tiki section of cocktails too! I ordered an Oaxacan Old Fashioned. Absolutely delightful and very well balanced - the mezcal really shines in this. Prices are a huge bonus as well. Only 2 issues we ran into is the booths are pretty small - definitely can fit 4 people comfortably, but any more than that and you'll be squeezed in. Also all people in the party must have a seat to their name - so can't really stand and enjoy their drinks. Also our 2 cocktails took 15-20 mins to arrive, and we were seated for an hour but we only able to enjoy one cocktail since our drinks took a bit of time, and no waiter/waitress stopped by in the remaining time we were there, so it was a little difficult for our group to order drinks. I would definitely be back to try all their cocktails, but it's definitely more a hang out and chill with a few friends-type of bar, which I love, albeit the slow and hard-to-catch service.
google avatar

Stacie M.

Yelp
I seriously can't rate Tina's high enough! I came in on a whim hoping for a good wine selection! Sarah's knowledge blew my mind and this is now a must stop place every time I'm in the area!! Great wine selection and a great place to chit chat with "wine nerds!" Must stop while in Pittsburgh! Also has a fabulous cocktail menu, although I didn't try anything but wine! My neighbors at the bar were raving! The focaccia bread is homemade and delicious! Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Tina's is definitely my favorite dive bar in the area. The atmosphere is fun and lively and the drinks are great and well priced. The service is usually good as well! It's a great place to stop for a couple of drinks before dinner or to hang out after dinner!
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
Recently placed an online order for some wine for Thanksgiving dinner. When I came to pick it up, they let me know that they actually did not have 2 out of the 3 bottles I purchased. But someone very kindly helped me to choose comparable alternatives. All 3 bottles I ended up with were amazing and perfect for the occasion, everyone loved them! Just be aware that the online selection may not always reflect their current inventory.

Yelp
Stopped into Tina's on a Saturday night with a group of 4. Very cute place with unique decor! It was extremely busy, so we did have to wait maybe 10 minutes for a table, not too bad! The cocktails were amazing, strong and balanced and nicely presented. Though we didn't order food, the menu consisted of mostly tinned seafood and cheese. The reason for taking off 1 star was a kind of mixed experience with service. One of our group ordered a drink and it seemed to be forgotten for about 20 minutes and when we flagged down the waiter who was really friendly earlier, he seemed put out that we had stopped him. And then when we got the check, there were a couple of extra drinks on it, and when I asked for it to be adjusted, he seemed inconvenienced by my reasonable request. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because it was extremely busy and there were only 2 people serving and I am sure it's hard to always have a smile when dealing with that many people, but it was just a little off putting so I thought worth mentioning! But will definitely stop back in for some more drinks, again super good, and incredibly reasonably priced for what you're getting.

Yelp
This bar is a comfort zone for sure. It's a great revamp of an old local bar called Tea Bags. The logo is still hanging on the outdoor brick wall ;) Beyond amazing service, delectable craft cocktails, great wines, delicious tapas style foods served late with of a couple of seasonal plates, charcuterie selections including some amazing canned fish that you can take home, there is the bread! Hot pumpernickel rolls at 1am after a long shift? Yes please! This place sort of reminds me of some of the best spots Bushwick, NYC before it got too expensive there. Only better. There is even an outdoor area. My friends from Brooklyn LOVED it here. What's not to love?
