One of Portlands best bars. Fantastic tap list, simple but killer food (with some of Portland’s best og-style buffalo wings and now tavern style pizza on weekends that is great).

Great bar just off 82nd. I had the cheddar weck sammich and it was really good with plenty of thin-sliced roast beef. Large tap list with a good variety of beers, not just IPAs. Several TVs around for watching sports. Fantastic staff managed to keep a very full house fed and slaked even during a fully packed house during a game. They even point a TV outside so smokers and overflow can watch from the sidewalk, how cool is that!? Can’t wait to try their Buffalo wings next.

My mom and I are visually impaired, we didn’t know what we were walking into and we are so glad we went in. As soon as we walked in the server met us and asked how she could help. I wanted an idea of what the restaurant offer and she quickly gave me a clear view of the choices I would have. Once we decided to eat there, she guided us to a table, clearly described how to maneuver around people going to the table and was able to take our orders. She was so kind and read the menu for us and even advised us on what beer to have with our food. The Estrella Jalisco Beer was so good and my mom and I enjoyed it. The other servers check on us offered, guide us to the bathroom and were really kind to move everything out of our way as we left the restaurant. Would definitely recommend the location to anybody. The food was nice, the atmosphere was very friendly and the servers were amazing. Sorry, no pictures. The food was so good. The idea of pictures didn’t even cross our minds.

We love this local bar. The drinks are good and their specials are always delicious. We ordered the special muffuletta and it did not disappoint, I love the Portland spin on it with the Burrata. The outdoor seating is perfect if you have a 4 legged friend and the staff is awesome with dogs. Perfect neighborhood spot, we come here often

This is becoming one of our go-to spots in Portland. Bills and Stark Trek theme to the bar, some board games available, plenty of table space and table service. Picnic tables on the street for when it's nice. 14ish beers on tap, good cocktails, I like that they have a premade old fashioned and a rotating Negroni recipe that's often great. Decent food menu too, bar fare with a focus on sandwiches and wings, I like the Loaded Potato Situation (what I could call Irish Nachos) and my wife likes the buffalo chicken salad. Strong vibes, friendly service, great neighborhood.

Don’t let the checkered paper lined baskets fool you, the food is definitely a few notches above “bar food”. In fact, my Warm Brussels Salad was flat out fantastic! They offer a good number of beers on tap, and mix up very a tasty cocktail, too. I had a Crystal Beach Daiquiri, which features a loganberry cordial along with a blend of rums, which was a stunning berry color and fantastic flavor. Service was excellent, and they were able to accommodate our group of eight easily- though we did get there fairly early in the evening.

Celebrated a good friend’s birthday on a Friday night and it was awesome! Service was working hard to get food and beverages out to guests. That small kitchen was turning out an impressive amount of food. The special, a fried fish sandwich, was piping hot and delicious! The waffle fries and cheese curds also dunked on the night. To wash it all down, I enjoyed a cocktail called The Great Northern, a throwback to Twin Peaks and The Great Northern Hotel where Special Agent Dale Cooper staged his journey into Twin Peaks. You should go here!

Great craft beer and the best wings I have tasted in Oregon.

First time trying the delicious food here at Tinker Tavern, and it did not disappoint! I love regional cuisines, and Upstate NY has some darn good eating- beef on a weck? Oh yea! The manager was making the house Orgeat while we were there, Mai Tai please! Also they feature Star Trek memorabilia & had STNG on the toob. Our server was stylishly dressed and made a very nice martini. Great experience, we'll be back!

Distinctive neighborhood bar, decorated with vintage Buffalo Bills flags and banners and shelves full of Star Trek memorabilia. Also impressive and wide list of beers on tap. We tried the Italian sub, which came with a handful of potato chips and was really nothing special, three stars level, but the bar itself and the cordial service was great, five stars. Seems the better food offerings would have been wings or the beef on weck. Will order more wisely the next time.

I keep an eye out for an Italian Hoagie like I grew up with Pittsburgh, so had to try the one here at Tinker. Yeah, the Pittsburgh version was fully baked, cheese melted and all. At least Tinker toasted the roll for me. This sandiwch very meat, and quality Italian meats. The mama lil's pepper mayonnaise was a great flavorful touch. Place was pretty empty, so seemed lke the sandiwches took a little long to get to us. There are several Buffalo sports banners here, as well as several Mr. Spock things. Very friendly bar tender. The potato chips were a little stale.

Hidden gem for sure! I love the ambience here and the staffs were very helpful. Having adult swim on TV was a bonus. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it came with potato chips! It was on the drier side but it had flavor. We ordered loaded fries and fried cheese curds and the loaded fries were stellllarrr and my friend loved the cheese curds. Awesome bar food

Went on a social media recommendation. Lots of regulars, good vibe. Looks like a watering hole where Buffalo Bills' fans congregate. The Negroni special was tasty, but a touch too expensive. I ordered their most popular item, the Cheddah 'Weck: a generous serving of beef on top of a au jus soaked roll. The yummy cheese is a thick sauce rather than a melted slice. And on Wednesday it's on special and includes better than average potato chips. The bartender and another guy who worked there were cool. The sandwich did take longer than expected to prepare, but no big. Parking wasn't a problem.

Came here for the food because the wings were recommended. Service was quick. There was no Bill's game on, but I imagine if there was, it would have been much more busy. Wings were good but the waffle fries were even better! Blue cheese dressing really carried everything. The chucks were top tier.

As a former Buffalonian and Bills fan, I am happy to have Tinker Tavern. A place where I can order Labatt and a beef on weck? With snow outside I feel like I'm back in WNY. That beef on weck is great by the way, and I never get tired explaining to people what 'weck' is... I also love getting to sing our fight song with a room full of fans. It's not uncommon to see the opposing teams fans braving a room full of crazy Bills fans, but hey, it's not called the City of good neighbors for nothing - we are a generally welcoming crowd, as long as you aren't being a dick about it. And who can be a jerk to Bills fans? We suffer enough without your help thank you very much. Maybe one day we will be celebrating a Super Bowl win. Until then I will drown my anxiety and sorrow with a bucket of blues and a room full of people that just get it. The staff is friendly and does a great job keeping up with drink orders and the mad close out rush at the end of games.

I love this place. A place that has both a rotating wing sauce and rotating Negroni is definitely worth a visit, and Tinker knocks it out of the park on both. Excellent, comfortable bar with a genuinely impressive selection of liquor, beer, and amaros. The waffle fries really tie it all together. Having some kind of Trek playing all the time is also a great selling point for me as well. I have had so many good conversations with the bartenders, and always feel welcome and taken care of when I'm here.

The food is all really good, the beer is great, and the staff is always very very nice.

All I can say is I flew into town from KC after attending the Bills dominant performance in 2021 SNF over the Chiefs. I picked this bar to visit randomly the night after. Loved it. The food, bartenders and drinks were all top notch. We have stopped in for a bills game, Hamlins's return game to be specific, and enjoyed that vibe too. Go Chiefs!

Wednesday is wing day! A dozen wings for $10! Awesome tap selection!

I come here fairly frequently. The beer list is always stellar. The cocktails are of the highest quality and the food is top notch. Usually I get the Buffalo chicken salad, but this time I went with a bowl of Minestrone. It was delicious and sooo filling. Regardless, I almost had a second bowl because it was sooo tasty. Tinker Tavern has the friendliest staff too. Great job everyone. Let's Go Buffalo!

This place was fun and can get very busy. We all had the boilermakers. They're $16 each but very worth it and VERY strong as they come with a shot of Michter's. The food was ok, or at least the apps that we got. The pizza logs were good and delicious however the cheese curds were extremely salty BUT the offered to cover those which was great. Bottom line, this place is fun and gets very full on the weekends. I'd definitely go back.

This is our favorite place by far. The environment is chill and welcoming. They have a Stark Trek theme going on that my husband loves. It feels like our very own "Cheers." We just enjoy the staff, the food, the environment so much. Pizza Logs are divineeeeennnaah! The buffalo chicken tender salad

Absolutely love this place! Keep coming back for the buffalo chicken salad! So good. The menu is on the smaller side but everything is DELICIOUS! For the OWNER/MANGER: it would be helpful to have some signage or possibly a check in with staff. Every time we come it's a bit confusing if it's order at the bar or table service. A bit annoying. But won't keep us from coming back! But I will say, in this post Covid world it is SO NICE to have table service ;)

Fine service and selection of drinks. Fun environment. I would recommend if you are looking for a casual place to hang out and have a good beer.

From someone with Buffalo family roots: best wings in town!! An instant family fave! Would like to try the Beef on Weck one of these days.

This. Place. Is. Bomb. Montavilla has quickly become THE place for casual bars and gourmet dining in the outer east side and Tinker Tavern is the perfect spot in this quaint neighborhood. I came here twice in just a few days because I enjoyed it so much. The Rose City Spritzer is the perfect mix of crisp refreshment and boozy goodness. My partner and I also ordered the pizza logs (pepperoni + mozzarella in an egg roll wrapper) and delicious heirloom tomato salad aka The Summer Salad. Both items were simple yet outstanding in their own way. The menu does consist of mostly sandwiches, so if that's not your thing, come here for the drinks. I must say the service is also top notch. The staff makes everyone feel so welcome and accepted... It's a nice break from the sometimes pretentious attitude you can find in Portland. Thanks for being awesome, Tinker Tavern!

Last week I had the chance (finally!) to stop by Tinker Tavern to check it out with a couple of friends. The service was next level. We were never left wanting/waiting for anything and, rather, our drinks couldn't get below 1/2 level without a quick pop by/check in from our server (who was great...didn't get her name). She could always seem to anticipate what we needed before we even knew it. Beyond that, the waffle fries are REALLY good and drinks are great and reasonably priced. Bubbles for $8 a glass? YES please, particularly when many other places are charging an average of $12 a glass. The outdoor setup is great and everyone is equipped with heaters for a bonus! Check it out! You won't be disappointed.

Okay it may only be my first time here, but as a life long Portland native I have to say, when someone does it right, they do it right. Opening post-covid is a HUGE risk but these folks did it and did it rooiight. Good drinks, amazing smiles, and heaters at your table! You'd be silly not to try this place. Also don't come here, I still want to be able to get a seat next time I come.

Great service with a all present precautions in place. The old fashion on the drinks menu was rich & spice driven it seemed...probably bc of the amaro. The confit chicken wings were extra tasty and I have it upon good authority from the next socially distanced table from me the roast beef sando is exceptional as well!

My husband and I haven't gone many places in a year and half (because of covid). We were out on a walk recently and decided to have some appetizers in their nice outside area. The service was fast and friendly and the food and beer was really great. I can't think how it could be better!

I didn't think Montavilla needed another bar but I was wrong. It needed this place. As I live just a few blocks away I spend a lot of time in Montavilla. I agree with the other reviews that this place has an especially friendly, warm, casual vibe that is so great. It is perfectly placed in between the dive bar and the high-end expensive fancy places. The food is higher quality than the menu would suggest. My kids got addicted to the salt and pepper rub chicken wings, so I'm in here regularly to pick those up. I got a roasted root vegetable salad that was out of this world. It is so refreshing to see high quality healthy items on a classic bar menu. Brought some food from them to a movie down the street and the staff at tinker tavern got the food out super quickly for me to be on time to the movie, they are so accommodating. They have nice outdoor seating too, and the neighborhood is full of other things to do in terms of shopping, other restaurants to go to, a movie theater, a walk in Mt. Tabor . . .

Great place. Super friendly and nice atmosphere. Great food! Small menu but everything I have had was truly top notch. Not your normal bar food experience!

I vê been going to this bar for a year now and I always tip between 30-50 %and I never have more than 2 drinks then I leave.I wish I knew the woman's name but I don't. Typically I don't tip her as well bc she gives me the worst service I've ever experienced in my life(. So I tipped her 5 bucks on my 1st order which was light for me and then I ordered and went outside... I was complaining about the service to the people I was with and then I decided to go kill her with kindness. So my next round was 18 dollars and I tipped her $22 then she proceeded to come outside and tell me that she heard I didn't like her and was yelling at me. I replied with"Girl I just gave you a 22 tip on an 18 bill what's the problem and she said some things to me I can't repeat in public and said You can have your f.... Money F U and don't come back. I will say I'm a man of color and don't appreciate the things she said to me. I think that she shouldn't work in service!!!

This place opened up recently and its been great! The Buffalo chicken wings and pizza rolls have been a staple this football season. YUM. Customer service is awesome.

Absolutely warm cozy outdoor space on the coldest night of the year yet. Excellent waffle fries and wings. Bless them for opening in the middle of this.

What a lovely little surprise this place is. The servers are so friendly. The price is right. The waffle fries are terrific. The drinks are ABC Delicious.

The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. They made sure that even though seating is currently outside in the cold that everyone dining had a space heater to keep warm with. We will definitely be going back.
