Hands down one of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had. All the ingredients are proportionately layered with the soft Cuban bread, toasted with a nice crisp with each bite. They don’t skimp on the meat. Staff is absolutely fantastic, providing great service and very welcoming. I’ve recommended this place to several foodie friends who are excited to check it out. Also - iced cafe con leche well made with perfect ratio of espresso and milk. Looking forward to our next visit!

TLDR; coffee and guava pastelito is 💯, veg sandwiches are disappointing We came here for a light lunch and ordered a couple of sandwiches and a pastry between the two of us. Unfortunately they had run out of the vegetarian empanadas for the day. The guava pastry was absolutely amazing and probably the main reason why I would come back again. My sandwich (Italiano 1) was really just ok - given the hype around this spot I was expecting more, but then again this is really a better place for Cuban sandwiches (which aren’t necessarily vegetarian friendly). My partner got the Madurito which he really enjoyed. The plantain chips that come on the side remind me of the ones that I grew up eating in India (so good!)

Been a fan from since there first location in Brickell, been going to the Gables location ever since. Stumbled in to the Miami Shores location, love the vibe full of energy made me feel like I’m Back home. Food and coffe just as fire as always! Back soon!

This review is for the pop up restaurant that is in this location in the evenings. The service was top notch! Friendly, informative, professional and efficient. The food was Michelin star quality! Everything was incredible. Probably the best meal I’ve ever had! Everything is locally sourced (as much as possible). We ordered a glass of wine and a local beer. For appetizers we ordered the Almaco Jack Crudo. It was amazing! They use a hot coal to rub on the edges of the fish that gives it a Smokey flavor. Absolutely incredible! We also ordered the Canaveral White Shrimp Chawanmushi. It’s several layers! The shrimp was amazing! The egg custard at the bottom was a bit too salty for my taste, but my son thought it was perfect. Finally, we ordered the Grilled Sebastian Oysters. I’m not a big oyster fan, but I could eat these everyday! Grilled with a brown butter chimichurri sauce and ramp purée and fried hazelnuts- this was perfection. Set in the shells, on a rock and shell bed, the presentation was beautiful. For dinner we ordered the smoked swordfish. I like swordfish, but it’s not my favorite because it’s not as soft as most fish. Not in this case. This was the softest, most flavorful swordfish I’ve ever had! They slow cook it for about 30-40 minutes. It goes on a low flame the minute we put our order in and slowly cooks the entire time we’re enjoying our appetizers and drinks. Set atop moujean tea turnips, caramelized baby fennel, and wilted spinach, this dish will never disappoint even the toughest critics. Our bill was not that bad either. There is a 20% service charge, but this does not all go to your server! It’s split 4 ways, so your server is only getting a 5% tip. Please tip your server cash on top of the service charge. I would love to return and try the spiny lobster. I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner!

I AM SURE everything on their menu is incredibly delicious, but I am married to El Guajiro sandwich accompanied with a dirty chai oat latte. It is my go- to every time I am there, and it always leaves me feeling amazing and ready to take on the day. I love their no electronics policy and because of this- it is my go- to meet up spot to catch up with friends and family. The service is lovely and rather quick, even when the place begs to you to take your time. I have loved Tinta y Cafe since they were open in Coral Gables and it made me even happier when they opened the Miami Shores location which was in desperate need of real cuban flavors and deliciousness.

Google
We come all the way from key Biscayne because we like the place. We understand that on the weekend it’s busy but today the service was upsetting.. we waited a long time to get our coffee (which was not on point today - usually is), never got our juice until almost paying the Bill and were kind of sitting around waiting for service. Had to take the juice to go and we’re charged for it. You guys are much better than that!

Yelp
Delicious "sanguiches" y cafe con leche [a oat milk option sold me] The spinach croquettes are a must have. Hubs had the Gallego Sando and I had the namesake Tinta Y Cafe which had a flavorful combo of roasted pernil, prosciutto, melted manchego, sweet roasted red peppers and caramelized onions. It definitely didn't feel like we were in Miami Shores, such a nice vibe and AWESOME FOOD. I was raving to my sister about the place and turns out one of her childhood friend's family run the place! Delicious and definitely felt like warm inviting and family.

Yelp
Im leaving a 1 star review to the manager on shift today! I order and come in all the time since I live in the neighborhood and have always hand pleasant experience. I really enjoy the TFC sandwich but the last few times the chicken has been tough and just got good!! I called to give them a heads up and the manager says to me "well why keep ordering it" I try to explain to him why and he kept cutting me off while I was trying to tell him. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt by ordering it again. He didn't allow me to finish. He was rude, where is the customer service?!?!! I wasn't asking for a refund, I wasn't being rude. But now I'll leave a review. I was calling to say, hey guys this is happening more frequent. Have you ever bit into chewy chicken. That's what their fried cutlet is like. Gross!

Yelp
My friends brought me here for a birthday lunch and it is such a gem on the Miami Shores side of Miami!! You get the cozy satisfactory traditional feels of eating a Cuban sandwich but with a gourmet spark and casual ambiance. All their sandwiches are incredibly hard to choose from because your mouth waters as you read down each combo. I looooved the Madurito, nothing beats sweet plantains and caramelized onions with classic pulled pork in a Cuban sammie! I appreciate the option to order just half a sandwich which is great if you're not a leftover gal. But I am and absolutely enjoyed my second half at home. Their cafe con leche is undoubtedly one of the best! I mean the way this coffee is full bodied roast and the froth of the milk... tickles my coffee lover heart!

Yelp
Why has it taken me so long to come here?! This was my second time coming for lunch and it's soooo good. The food is delicious and always comes out quickly. The callejero sandwich is sooo filling and yummy. My only wish was that they would allow substitutions on their sandwiches. Their croquettes are HUGE little fat nuggets of savory deliciousness and the pastelitos have the perfect amount of filling and amazing flaky texture. Def an immediate lunch spot favorite!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
This little cafe is amazing!! I cannot recommend the Madurito enough. I've driven 45 minutes to this spot multiple times just to get that sandwich. My relatives came into town and I drive them down to get it immediately. This place has 3 Michelin stars for a reason! I also love the drinks that I've tried from here along with their baked goods. I tried a birthday cake cookie that was DELICIOUS- Unluckily for me, it was their last one of the day and I couldn't stock up. I can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
Service, food, and vibe cannot get better for this cute cafe. I was instantly welcomed by workers and someone came instantly to give me water (glass was never empty!) and take my order. Although the service was quick and they checked on you fairly often, I never felt rushed. My colada was amazing. The best I've had. The menu was fairly limited with mainly coffee and sandwiches but they had a breakfast menu available in the morning. I wanted eggs so opted for scrambled eggs with tomato on Cuban bread. All of the ingredients were so fresh- eggs fluffy and bread hot, crispy, yet light. It was so simple but so good! I can't recommend this place more!

Yelp
The coffee tastes like dirt and I got sick from their food El cafe tiene el sabor malo como la tierra..y me enfermé la comida

Yelp
Perfect spot to grab a Cafecito and Cuban sandwich... great food and service ...will head back when I'm in town!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning right when they opened to kill some time while my car was at the mechanic. There was already a handful of people lined up right when they opened at 8am which is always a great sign for an establishment. I was promptly greeted and decided to sit at the bar top. The service was great as they were very attentive right off the bat. I decided to go with a cold brew with an extra shot of espresso plus a build your own sandwich. I will certainly be coming back to visit whenever I need to take my car to the mechanic and highly recommend this place to others. I was advised to take a seat as they get pretty busy on Saturday mornings so just a heads up to those venturing out on the weekend.

Yelp
Great ambience. Excellent coffee and baled goods.. great service from a friendly staff.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in I felt the good vibes! Service was great. Inside is cute, with books and decor. Reminds me of somewhere you would meet up with your friends, drink & eat and not realize where the time went, there is no wifi and I guess that is why. I also knew i absolutely needed to try some of their pasties. I decided on a chicken empanada and beef pastelito. Soo good! Both stuffed with the right amount of meat. Chicken was seasoned and not dry. My iced cafe con leche was superb. So picky with it but it was strong and also rich and sweet. I was pleasantly surprised. Side note: as I was there a man came in I guess asking people for money/food. He sat down and took out a couple of prescription medications talking about how he had just left Jackson hospital and has a severe heart failure. The manager was so polite asking him to please put away his medications and even offered this man some pastries. The man then decided to cause a scene by standing up and screaming in the middle of the restaurant that he had a heart failure and all he was being offered was pastries. How entitled must you feel to not only turn down the pastries but cause a scene about it. I felt bad bc the manager seemed uncomfortable for the customers but he did no wrong. And with all that being said the manager still showed kindness and asked the man if he needed any assistance with picking something else off the menu

Yelp
This croqueta is life changing! Sooooo delicious !!!! It was the perfect fried on the outside and ham on the inside. We had two breakfast sandwiches and our favorite was La noche entera. We also got el bori, it was good but definitely missing some sauce it was a little too dry. Service was great we had so many servers coming around asking us if we were doing well. Loved this breakfast spot!

Yelp
Well, this is more of a long-time impression... This place is undeniably the best breakfast/brunch cafe in Miami according to my boyfriend and I. Any friend we bring has us begging to take em back. Everything is amazing, I've never disliked something new we've tried. We always get the cafe con leche, which is the best one in Miami (try it and then we can argue it lol). The most hospitable, charismatic, and nicest service you could ever hope for. Did I mention they have 3 Michelin stars? There's a reason for it! Their food is always fresh, cooked to perfection, and so so yummy. They put twists on classic cuisines that only adds to their quality. Their pastries run out fast because they're so fluffy, hot, and delicious (my favorite is the beef pastelito). Their croquettes are made hot to order and wow, are they good. The ham one is no joke, it's the biggest croquette, it is not made with your traditional ham. They use a much more savory ham that will have you rethinking croquettes altogether. Any sandwich has its own special mix of flavor, it's honestly hard to pick a favorite. The salads are BIG and so fresh. I love this place, every aspect of it. The staff, the artsy aesthetic, and the out of this world food.

Yelp
Tinta always delivers with consistent quality. The bread is always fluffy and crunchy on the outside. The sauces are always balancing the components inside. I really like the green olive tampanade for the tropicana with the turkey. It's heavy on the olive oil, and is delicious. The Italiano plain comes with a tasty sweet tomato jam that pairs great with the mozzarella. I enjoyed the heavy cinnamon on the dirty Chai latte. I'm also partial to the cortadito without the evaporated milk, but with is also good. There's a decent amount of seating inside, and the BEST part is FREE PARKING. I know, super rare in Miami, but it's what drew us to keep coming back. And every sandwich gets a free side of plantain chips. The service is decent, and the inside is cozy.

Yelp
My go to spot breakfast in Miami shores, it's the perfect way to start a day, I highly recommend the dirty chai iced latte and breakfast sandwich, which comes with 3 choices of jam, can't go with with any of them. Everything here is 10/10.

Yelp
This neighborhood coffee house and lunch place located in Miami Shores has a cute bohemian vibe. I had the Los Italianos $11.50 made with tomato basil vegetarian on Cuban bread and came with plantain chips. The service was great.

Gabrielle F.

Yelp
Adorable cafe. Amazing coffee, perfect sandwiches and great service. What more could you ask for?
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Hungry for a sandwich? Look no further. I had a craving for a sandwich soo we ended up here while running errands in the neighborhood. Thanks Yelp! A few things about This place 1. It's Adorable. Great decor. Think homey-hipster. 2. Great service. Everyone was lovely. 3. Insanely delicious food. The chefs put real thought into these combos I'm so happy to have found this new local spot!

Yelp
We are locals at the coral gables location, and happened to be in the Miami Shores area this morning and decided to stop by the Miami Shores location. I'm so so happy we did because the location, service and the overall experience we had was 100/10. The quality between both locations is the same, which is not common among many restaurants, and the ambiance and decor was so cozy and homey. We can't wait to be back at this location.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
The food here is always exceptional. They take normal menu items and put their own twist on it to make it, in my opinion, the best in it's category. The service is always good considering the volume but today was next level. Grecia, our server, was absolutely magnificent. We were a party of 7 and she was very attentive and courteous, and memorized our entire order. The place is always a vibe with a Cuban nostalgia feel and no wifi to encourage communication.

Yelp
Tinta Y Cafe has become a Miami staple. Quick coffee and a pastelito becomes more. Lunch! I am a pescatarian. My go to is the tuna sandwich that comes with plaintain chips. Breakfast is amazing too. There staff here at the Miami Shores location is kind and approachable. Thanks Kaylah for introducing yourself and sharing your Tinta journey. Will be back because of your warm welcome and smiling face! Happy to see things going well! #305

Yelp
Amazing place, amazing people. I've been patronizing this gem nearly every single day since early 2020. The coffee/espresso is the best I've ever had. They get it right every single time and I'm VERY particular when it comes to my café con leche! The ambiance at the Miami Shores location is phenomenal... lots of cool interesting books along with artifacts and photographs along the wall. They have barstools if you want to dine solo as well as tables large and small and an awesome communal area with a couch. I've met some very interesting individuals sitting on that couch waiting for my coffee! Also there is no WiFi-- Tinta y Café encourages socializing with fellow patrons-- which I love because it reminds me of a time where we actually took time to get to know one another. The entire staff is also very family friendly! Lots of children accompany their parents to this location and they treat them all very warmly and give them lots of attention! Last but not least--the bathrooms are impeccably CLEAN! Please visit you will not be disappointed!!

Yelp
The sandwiches are stupid good,..the bread is everything. The coffee is supreme Get the Nutella sandwich it's so simple and so amazing.

Andrea P.

Yelp
drinks and food were super good, fresh, bread was perfect :) servers were very attentive and sweet. the place is so cute and feels like youre in someone's living room. gotta come back soon

Eduardo F.

Yelp
I ordered over easy eggs, but they brought me scrambled eggs. When finally I got my over easy eggs, they were undercooked which can be dangerous because they may contain a bacteria called Salmonella. I explained this to the waitress. She seemed to be surprised of my complain. Coffee was okay. Service was good. Ambience ok, but too loud music.
google avatar

Bernie B.

Yelp
The service was great. Got my Cuban in 5 minutes and the staff was very pleasant and responsive. Price was a bit expensive at $14. The taste was average. I'm not sure the pork and ham were fresh from that day. Overall I would give this Cuban a grade of C. I was just passing through, therefore I don't expect to be a return customer.
google avatar

Daisy W.

Yelp
Café y tinta's chef during the day is not the same as the pop up restaurant they are tuning at night. During the day the food is not what you expect. This restaurant is using the chef for his great name and trashing him during the day by being rude to clients, making them wait more than 40 minutes for food, and when the food arrives is disappointing. Their terrible attitude can definitely ruins someone's day. They don't care if you have allergies that could send you to the hospital. They told me they will call rescue if what they gave me made me sick.
google avatar

Kenneth C.

Yelp
This place is like if a ventanita went to Paris and fell in love there but had to return to Miami against their will, so they made a cafe to never forget that feeling. Croquetas; ham, spinach, and bacalo, best in south florida. Coffee, delicious and strong, true to cafecito culture. My wife had the ham and cheese tostada, so good, ham was top tier. I had "el bori", this is a top shelf egg, ham and cheese. The staff were happy and hospitable, which is rare for south florida, if you know, you know. Finally, the interior id like an old but rich, florida home living room. We will be back.
google avatar

Katrina W.

Yelp
I enjoy stopping at Tinta whenever I am in the Shores area. There is a laid-back coffee shop vibe, with music at the same time filling the space. You can order breakfast or a coffee. I am more of a chai or matcha person, so I usually aim for an iced chai latte. I have enjoyed their salads and sandwiches, even having the tuna sandwich for breakfast. The tuna is chunky and fresh, with the accompanying cilantro mayo being the best that I've had! You can even park for free right outside of the shop in the local municipal parking, so that's a win - especially in Miami!
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in a rush so didn't get the chance to dine in. We only got take out. We asked the host for sandwich recs and these recs did not disappoint. We got the caleña, madurita, callejero and a sachi mocha. We can see any of these sandwiches being our favorite - depending on the day. Tinta is a neighborhood gem - crowded with locals, in a harmonious way. We can't wait to come back and try the pastries.
google avatar

Graceann B.

Yelp
Tinta's is such a cute and cozy place! The workers are so amicable and work very hard to provide good service for their patrons. The drinks are great here, as I often stop by for drinks and treats for my coworkers and myself.
google avatar

Aruna B.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff, delicious coffee! I would have given this place a 6 star if it was possible. I am a vegetarian and it is difficult to find good sandwiches for me. This place had a veggie stand-witch(not the Italian) that was delicious .

Maria C.

Yelp
Delicious, the coffee is really good. It's fast and cute with both seating areas inside and outside.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute cafe in Miami Shores. I'm glad there's more than coffee shop chains in the area. I decided to stop by in the late afternoon to grab a coffee and maybe finish some work. I stopped by around 2 PM and there were only two other customers inside. So I looked over the menu and grabbed a café con Leche and Cuban bread to dip it in. I just received an email so I had to check it quickly on my laptop, I did notice they have little signs all over about not using cellphones/electronics (no cyber zombies!!). I thought it would be OK because I just needed to check really quick, but as soon as I open my laptop I was told that they are not allowed. This is definitely good to know and I understand completely. Unfortunately I couldn't stay because I was still working and I had to find somewhere else. Now back to the coffee and bread, it was very delicious and satisfying! I will definitely be back on a weekend maybe for brunch and I'll make sure to leave my laptop at home :-).

John G.

Yelp
Best cafecito in town! They have amazing sandwiches as well like the pork guajiro. Salads are fresh and delicious like the honey mustard salad.
google avatar

Bianca R.

Yelp
This is a super cute little Cuban cafe in the Miami Shores area and I must say it fits in perfectly. I wasn't able to check out the inside too much because I brought my pupper along with me but from the glimpse I caught it was very nicely decorated. Upon entering the server told me I could sit outside and they would bring the menus out to us and they did it super quickly along with some fresh glasses of water. I asked for a cafe con leche (originally I asked for it on ice but they brought it out to me hot but no complaints cause it was phenomenal!). I then ordered a simple egg dish, on their menu it's called Los Huevones- I asked for the eggs over easy with a side of bacon and toast. It was delicious. And Ofcourse asked for one of each of their croquetas. Overall it was a very cute spot and would recommend for a quick bite or a nice weekend breakfast l.
google avatar

Adele R.

Yelp
Excellent! The food was so delicious and everything is so fresh. I had a chicken sandwich with prosciutto. Wow. So flavorful. Especially the garlic aoli sauce. They know what they're doing in that kitchen! Also instead of fries they do a side of very tasty plantain chips. Also tried some pastries and the ham croquettes and very very good. Definitely check this spot out! Good for meal of the day. Treat ya self!

Alex J.

Yelp
Some of the best sandwiches in all of Miami. This place is super chill and great spot.
google avatar

Johana G.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and great customer service. Place is small and gets packed but the staff does a great job at accommodating the customers. Far from home but will definitely be returning when in the area again.

Yelp
The first time I came to Tinta y Cafe I was skeptical. In Miami Shores there are not many good places to eat, so I was unsure about this one. Boy was I wrong! Tinta y Café is delicious!!! I've ordered the same thing from here every time I go because it's so good. Every time I've been to Tinta, it's been packed! The people love it here! I love how juices are always made so fresh and the pastries are too. If your ever in Miami Shores, this place is a must to stop by!
google avatar

Lisandra C.

Yelp
I been hearing about this cafe for quite a while and had to come and tried some of their sandwiches. First time around at the one located in coral gables did not go great but then we tried the other one which is by Miami shores and that made a difference. I like the fact that no phones or computer is allowed which means you either get to talk to the person you went with or just enjoy your own company which is great. We ordered a patria, francesita, and madurito. There were amazing we loved patria, the only thing is that for francesita they didn't have the sweet bread if not that would have been amazing as well. To drink we had a lemonade which was super good and their cafesito which my husband had that and he talked about that cafesito for days.

Yelp
Great food every time I go!! Love the diversity of food and the coffee is amazing. Love the service and got to meet the owner.
google avatar

Lucia G.

Yelp
The sandwiches are spectacular. Everything about this place is special. I came because someone told me they have the best Cuban sandwich (and they do!). Enjoyed the fresh juices, the cafecito, and the great service. Also loved the decor, the art on the walls, the books, and the ambiance.

John B.

Yelp
With great food and terrific service, Tinta y Cafe' is awesome!!!! I always get the café con Leche heist because it is so flavorful and refreshing.

Jeidi V.

Yelp
Food and service is spectacular! if you love coffee and want to sit and enjoy a quiet lunch or even brunch come here. VERY cute decor and yummy sandwiches. We love it the staff is very friendly even with a loud toddler moving all over the place.Thank you for the great service we will be back.

Yelp
YES!... I've been waiting to review this one. Kept it in my back pocket to spring out just when you guys thought I was done with Miami. Simply stated, this place is in our top 3 restaurants in ALL of Miami. And their sandwiches are in my top 5 of anywhere in the U.S... Yeah, they're that good. First, shout out to the folks who run this place. It took a yella year for our food to come out (that means a very long time for you non-Southerners). Totally understandable because they're so popular. But one of the servers saw how long we were waiting outside and just up and brought us a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice to enjoy while we waited... with a smile! An actual smile! I mean we've waited at literally thousands of restaurants and I can count on one hand the number of times the wait staff actually, genuinely cared. So forgive me if my review seems like I'm in their fan club (I'm at least the Secretary/Treasurer by now). Anywho, we had their coffeee which was wonderful. But the stars were the callajero and madurito sandwiches. We tasted the first and were blown away. But we thought, no way would, 1) the other sandwich be as good, and 2) taste that much different from the first. Wrong on both counts... both were wonderful in completely different ways. We also thought we would take them home to eat (this was a pick-up order). Nope... we ended up sitting on a bus bench and knocking out about half of both sandwiches in about 5 minutes flat. I'll just say it's not often that a sandwich shop lives up to the hype. In this case, the hype doesn't even match the reality. Not to be missed, buddy.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Food, ambience and service was fantastic. We had the breakfast sandwich and the El Madurito Sandwich. Both had a sweet component (guava paste on the breakfast sandwich and sweet plantains on the el madurito) that just elevated the sandwich to a new level. Coffee and juices were also very good!

Sonia B.

Yelp
Food is really good, but what makes the experience better is the service from Grecia. She is amazing!

Richard T.

Yelp
Great coffee, the iced cafe con leche was my fav, staff is really cool Food is also good! Definitely Italy try this spot out!! It has an intimate setting and a few tables outside, covered, which definitely came in handy a few times
