11 Best Local Food Spots in Toronto | Condé Nast Traveler

"Tinuno, a no-frills hole-in-the-wall in the heart of St. James Town, has made a name for itself with its knockout Filipino cuisine. Order the Kamayan Feast ($15): a cook lays a banana leaf directly on your table, spreads it with a layer of rice, and tops it with fresh meat and fish skewers, spring rolls, grilled plantains, okra, and other fixings doused in house-made banana ketchup. For dessert, don't sleep on the halo-halo, a sweet Filipino treat with condensed milk, shaved ice, a scoop of purple taro ice cream, and chewy fruit candies. In the warmer months, Torontonians relish sitting outside on the patio." - Todd Plummer

This is one of the finest philosophies restaurant I went to. I really like the fruits infused rise which I never tried. It was a different experience for me.y friend liked the pork chops more and I personally like the Chicken and fish. Nice and decent flavour but a crazy flavourful food experience. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was decent too. It’s suitable with both friends and family.

Brief review: Tinuno offers an excellent and authentic filipino dining experience that you shouldn’t miss. Full review: upon arrival, the presence of filipino customers and staff, immediately reinforces the authenticity of Tinuno’s cuisine. Portions are generous, and the ingredients (particularly the rice, greens, and fish) are fresh. As a first time visitor, I found the experience both enjoyable and culturally enriching, especially the tradition of eating with bare hands. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is kind. Maybe an improvement would be to enhance attentiveness to customer needs, as I found it somewhat difficult to get the waiter’s attention for additional plates. Nevertheless, this was a minor issue. Whether you’re a tourist or a foreigner, visiting Tinuno is sure to be a memorable and worthwhile experience.

Dinner for two! I must admit, I’ve been missing out on this hidden gem of a restaurant. It may be small, but it certainly makes an impact with its charm and eloquence. Comfort was never a concern—the staff were not only professional but also genuinely entertaining, leaving me with a smile on my face. The food was exceptional, and the desserts—of which I ordered several—were absolutely delightful! Every item was cooked to perfection, clearly reflecting the passion and dedication of those behind the scenes, almost as if they seasoned their dishes with love instead of salt or pepper. The atmosphere was inviting and had a wonderful vibe. I wholeheartedly recommend this place—without a doubt, a true 100% experience.

I had the pleasure of meeting my son and his love in the city recently. She invited to celebrate her birthday and experience authentic Filipino fare for the first time. First and foremost, the food was amazing, from the garlic rice to the grilled fish and okra. Delicious! Service was a bit challenging. I will say it wasn’t very engaging, but I will note it was a busy night in a cozy location. Having said that a quick how is everything while passing by would have been welcomed. I would recommend Tinuno for a delicious meal and authentic fare and experience.

Such a fun experience trying the Kamayan for the first time! Great variety and huge portion size, all made fresh. Taste wise it’s not mind blowing, but definitely solid. Eating rice without utensils was challenging and I ended up using a mussel shell as spoon to get the rice to my mouth lol. But I think the “hands on” experience somehow made everything taste better! The vibe is really chill too. When we were there (during lunch time on a Saturday) they kept having customers come in to order takeouts. It was fun watching the friendly staffs introduce all the different dishes on display at the counter with big smiles on their face even though I couldn’t understand the language at all. The community vibe is unbeatable and I will definitely come back to try more dishes!

Google
Really enjoyed this little hidden gem! The food was plentiful and delicious, the 25$/pp kamayan is perfect. The variety of seafood and meats with veggies and rice is perfect, and the quantity is great to share so you will not leave here hungry. Everything is grilled with a great char flavour, the sauces provided are all tasty with any dish, and you wear plastic gloves provided to eat this platter with your hands. My favorite was the squid and okra. I think a bit more seasoning on the meat/seafood could make this amazing. The place was a bit smaller and more quaint than I was expecting, but it was a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was a bit inattentive, we had to ask for someone to take our order and refill our water, but it wasnt horrible. I don't often get Filipino food, so I'd recommend this to anyone looking for something different, filling and delicious!

Google
The Kamayan feast experience was unique and was nicely arranged. The food tasted pretty good and portion-wise it was decent. They gave us a lot of garlic rice (which we loved), but the meat portions were pretty sparse for a party of 6. It was apparent that most of their food was pre-made, as they had buffet warmers with all the cooked food inside. We ordered pork lumpia as an appetizer and only 1 out of 7 arrived hot. All the others seemed refrigerated and were cold. When we asked them to reheat it, the server wasn't even apologetic or phased by the cold food. The servers were extremely inattentive here. When we arrived, no one greeted us and we had to stand around and wait until we got a server's attention to help us find our table. We also had to ask several times to get our drinks and food. Overall, the terrible service affected the overall experience here. If you want to try the kamayan feast, we would recommend going to another filipino restaurant that has better service!

We always come here for their Kamayan Feast (also known as "Boodle Fight"). This is the Filipino way of eating using only your fingers instead of a fork/spoon or a chopsticks. Everyone that I bring here (non-Filipinos or Filipinos alike) really enjoyed this way of eating. So kamayan is basically a communal feast where the food is laid out on a bed of banana leaves instead of plates and your eating utensils are your fingers. The food consists of unlimited garlic rice, seafood (grilled shrimp/squid/milkfish/tilapia, steamed mussels) meat (pork belly and bbq pork skewer), veggies (boiled okra/eggplant), mango salad and orange slices for dessert. The delicious food is full of Filipino flavours - salty, sweet and sour and price per person is reasonable. Staff are very nice and friendly and are always there to provide you with another serving of the garlic rice. Place is small but cozy and coming on a weekday means avoiding the craziness on a weekend visit. If you want to try ultimate finger food experience and enjoy a beautiful Filipino tradition, then Tinuno is the place to be.

Yelp
Kamayan is such a fun meal to enjoy with a large group as it's laid out in front of you and you eat with your hands! I've been coming to Tinuno for years and at $25 per person, it's quite reasonable for what you're getting. I usually try to make a reservation, especially with a larger group, as the restaurant isn't that big and can fill up quickly. What we got: - Kamayan Feast (Tilapia, Milk fish, Squid, Pork Belly, Pork Skewers, Shrimp, Mussels, Okra, Eggplant, on Garlic Rice and with a side Mango Salad) Final Thoughts: Super fun meal that has a good variety and you can eat your fill as the mango salad and garlic rice are also refillable. It can get messy, but there are gloves for you to use if you like. Still a favourite spot of mine and i'll be back!

Yelp
One of my favorite places for kamayan feast!!! Tinuno is a hidden gem in Toronto, offering an authentic Filipino dining experience that's both delicious and fun. The Kamayan feast is a must-try, with a generous spread of savory meats, fresh seafood, and an endless supply of garlic rice. The communal style of eating adds to the experience, making it perfect for sharing with friends and family. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is lively and inviting. Whether you're a Filipino food lover or a curious newcomer, Tinuno is definitely worth a visit. Pro tip: Come hungry!

Yelp
This Filipino kamayan place serves various items on a big banana leaf, with a free flow of garlic rice. You don't get a choice of items but in return for giving up your autonomy you get many items for $25. Not everything was good and the portion wasn't huge but the variety was good and some items were good. They get 3.5 stars. Pork bbq stick & grilled pork were excellent. Milkfish was good - it was easy to eat with no bones, though on the saltier side. The vegetables were very plain & the squid & shrimp were alright. The garlic rice was quite fragrant but the flavour was less strong than it used to be.

Yelp
I went here as a party of 4 with friends to try the kamayan feast here. This place was recommended by a friend from Toronto who said this is one of her favorites, so I do have to try it out. Reservations were easy to make even for large groups, but it is still recommended since the place is really small, at least in this original 31 Howard location. We also added pork lumpia and banana turon on top of it, which is not really necessary since the feast itself is really filling in itself. The feast consisted of milkfish, tilapia, squid, shrimp, mussel, pork belly, pork skewer, okra, eggplant, mango salad, orange slices, and most importantly, garlic rice. I have had a similar kamayan feast setup in NYC not too long ago that was really disappointing, so I am glad to try it again and had a nice experience for like 1/3 of the price here. The garlic rice is on point - very garlicky and al dente. I love the milkfish, pork skewer, and squid in the feast, but the rest of the meats were also really solid. The other vegetables are not really my thing, but they still pair well with the order. Lumpia is crispy so excellent, and the banana turon satiated me as a dessert. Service could be improved as barely anyone walks around or sees the dining area, but it doesn't dismiss this as a 5 star restaurant due to the quality of food.

Yelp
I don't really go to a lit of Filipino restaurants simply because I grew up eating quality Filipino food. I had a few friends visit me here and they wanted to try boodle fight. My expectations were not high but for $25 each person, this was so worth it!! I wouldn't order anything else on the menu because you get a lot of food already and unlimited rice. I'd definitely bring a couple of people with you but not more than 5 cause there's not much space. The staff is much like any other Filipinos you meet, very hospitable and friendly. Dig in!

Yelp
Just had to try the Kamayan ($25)! Came by to pickup lunch, definitely will be back to try dining in. The kamayan comes with milkfish, tilapia, squid, shrimp, mussel, pork belly, pork skewers, okra, eggplant, mango salad, and garlic rice - mhmmm the garlic rice was *chefs kiss*. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The server was very friendly, and handed us our takeout boxes with care. I adore the decor of the interior, would love to dine-in next time.

Yelp
Inspired by my sister who was the first to tell me about the Kamayan feast that she had at a friend's house. I didn't even know a restaurant like this existed and so happy that Yelp was able to help me find one. We had reservations at 6:45pm for 3 with my coworkers who were happy to indulge in my eating escapades. We got there and we already knew that we were going to get the Kamayan feast and the pork lumpias. We also added the lechon roasted pork. Everything was delicious! There were a couple types of fish, squid, shrimp, mussels, grilled pork and barbecue pork, okra, eggplant. The garlic rice is so addictive. it was impressive that we practically finished everything. The only complaint is that the service was hard to come by.

Yelp
If you've never had Filipino food this place is will make you fall in love. Me and my partner enjoyed everything. Line ups were quick and service was served in a timely manner. Price wise, it's $27 per person if you order their Kamayan and $25 each person 2 and up. Food was generous and made fresh. It's not a big place but big enough to feel it's not cramped. This will be my goto place when I'm craving for some Filipino food! Side note: there's no utensils so you eat with your hands (gloves provided) 4.5/5

Yelp
Food, service and Ambience are all great. This is one of my go to restaurants for my guests. Just the experience is different and food is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing! I saw a picture of the kamayan feast on instagram and needed to try. I loved it, we were given the choice between milk fish and tilapia, we chose milk fish. It's $25 per person and you get gloves to dig in. My favourite was the pork belly. I'd highly recommend Tinuno to everyone!
google avatar

Reyaz H.

Yelp
An amazing restaurant with fast service and now that they remodelled a pretty cute interior this was my first trying kamayan barbeque and I can't wait to come back and try other places. I was really impressed by the portions and at $25 it's amazing value.
google avatar

Tinah Y.

Yelp
My first time trying kamayan or boodle fight. Everything was pretty good except the fish was a little over-cooked and dry. The garlic rice was amazing. The calamansi juice was super good and refreshing on a hot day. This is a foodie place, great for meeting up with a group of friends, but not romantic. If you are going for the kamayan, the more the merrier. Good service. we went early on a Friday night, no reservations, and didn't have to wait, but, it filled up fast.
google avatar

CC L.

Yelp
I went here for a family gathering. We got the kamayan. They lay out your food on banana leaves and you are provided with plastic gloves to eat and enjoy your meal. Service was alright, although we kept getting up so the server could put the food on our table, a bit of an inconvenience for guests, but food tasted good. The inside of the restaurant is dark and has a very relaxing atmosphere. I have come here many times before, other experiences have been better, but food remains same quality.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite meals while in Toronto. I've thought about it for 3 days in a row after I had it. It was amazing. No matter what get the Kamayan with milk fish (If you have a choice), don't get Talapia it's not worth it. All of the seafood was delicious and the garlic rice was superb!
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
Ordered the Kamayan-style set with a friend and since it was just the 2 of us, we chose the milkfish. I really loved this experience because I got to eat with my hands LOL gloves are provided. The food was delicious but some were a bit burnt like the milkfish. It was a lot of food for 2 people and other reviewers mentioned there is unlimited garlic rice but this was not known for my party. Tinuno is a really small establishment and kind of a hole in the wall. I feel like there weren't really any tourists eating here - mostly locals. Took a star off because there was a very rude server who made eye contact with my party several times but purposely ignored our requests - such as taking our order, refilling our water, etc. She walked around with rbf lol

Yelp
Double date night! Haven't been to tinuno before but I have been to other Filipino restaurants in the past. This location is tucked away on Howard street just outside of sherborne station. Small, cozy place, lots of take out orders as well. The staff were very nice. We ordered the kamayan dinner and it was delicious! I love the layout of the meal. Definitely will come back again!
google avatar

Yelp
Bring or pay by CASH. Please be mindful that they will add 18% tip automatically to your bill. I found out after I told the girl at the reception that I am ready to pay with my debit. She gave me the terminal and told me about the additional charge. Happened to me recently when I dined in with 5 people including myself (as per the menu, the 18% gratuity is only added for a group of 6 people). They did not advise the customers prior to dining in and felt it being dishonest. I love the food but service and the charges flawed. Hopefully it won't happen again.
google avatar

Yelp
Highly recommend for a first-time experience eating Filipino food as a table group - Kamayan. Opted for the milkfish as you choose between milkfish and tilapia for groups of 2 and it didn't disappoint! Milkfish, Pork skewer with some sweet sauce, and the Mango salad were the highlights of the meal and I would go again! Felt fun and enjoyable to eat with your hands haha!
google avatar

Vannesa A.

Yelp
Brought my non-Filipino friend & she loved it especially the onion fried rice. She like the ideas of eating with hands and it was fun for her. It's $25 per person and no split bills. Place is small, so if it's busy, u I've to wait.
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
My family loves the Kamayan dinner and always get the lechon on the side. The lechon is a must!!!!! It is super crispy and fatty and full of flavour. The garlic rice is also really good!! Portions are large so you can get away sharing portions. The service is nice but the restaurant atmosphere is more of a take out vibe, so we usually get it to go.
google avatar

Jetrina M.

Yelp
This place is totally a hole in the wall. It's a tiny restaurant at the end of Howard street. We made a reservation for lunch and ordered the kamayan for 2. You choose between tilapia and milkfish and it comes with barbecue, squid, shrimp, mussels, veggies and fruit. Definitely filling for 2 people. Total cost was about $45, not including tip. Parking can be hard to find in the area. Street parking on Howard and there's also a parking garage at the end of the one way street that intersects with Howard - although it was somewhat difficult to find our car in the garage afterwards.
google avatar

Yelp
My first Filipino restaurant here. This felt like home away from home. Garlic rice was so good! Milkfish, squid, mussels, and shrimps were all superb! Will definitely go back

Yelp
Stellar! Food is amazing Pre-pandemic times, I've been once for dine-in and LOVED the experience. Fantastic service, atmosphere and food. During pandemic, I've gotten take-out once and had a good experience as well. Price? Unbeatable. Really great value for what you are served. I've had kamayan feasts from other restaurants, and Tinuno remains one of the best. The ingredients are good and fresh, flavour is on point. Their food is a feast for eyes too. Definitely deserve repeat visits here. The shop also has small grocery items for sale too - so you can pick up pantry items and snacks as well. ProTip: There is no parking nearby for those of us driving to pick-up food... so get to the area early to figure out parking. Or have someone drop you off.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Loved the garlic rice!! The seafood and meat skewer were my favourite. The service was a bit confusing because no one acknowledged me when I first walked in. So I walked out and waited for my friends to arrive before entering again.
google avatar

Clire C.

Yelp
Got the Kamayan Feast at $25 per person! This spread is a seafood and meat lovers' dream. I really liked how flavourful everything was, especially the fish and shrimp. Their chili sauce was also really good! Their garlic rice is unlimited but I didn't know that until I left :( I came on a Friday so the waiters were all very busy. The restaurant itself is pretty small so definitely recommend making a reservation or calling ahead to reserve a table.

Jacob K.

Yelp
A truly unique dining experience that was quite affordable and delicious! The food came out incredibly fast, some of the fastest service because it's a fixed menu for dinner! Although it did take a while to get a Diet Coke lol. Overall great experience. Best to go with a group of 4+ people
google avatar

Yelp
One of me and my bf's favs from our trip to Toronto! We got the kamayan feast which was so worth it. It came with a bunch of grilled seafood/meats and garlic rice on top of banana leaves, which we ate with our hands using gloves provided at the table. Everything was delicious and the side of papaya salad and orange went perf with the food as a refresher. Service was also wonderful, the server who spoke to us was super friendly.

Yelp
Being part Filipino it was great to visit one of Toronto's few sit-down Filipino restaurants. The menu is filled with signature Pinoy dishes, but if you are here the Kamayan Feast/Boodle Fight is the reason for eating sit-down. Not eating it is the equivalent of not getting All-You-Can-Eat at an AYCE Sushi Place, or ordering Ala Carte from a Korean BBQ Place. The food is delicious and reminiscent of authentic Filipino cuisine, which is expected since the staff/chefs are actually Filipino/Filipina. The mussels, chicken/pork, shrimp and other meats are all marinated and cooked to be very moist and the rice and salad are seasoned perfectly. The only downside of the restauraunt is the size. Traditionally Kamayan Feast/Boodle Fights are shared with large families or large groups of friends. At this location its only a small amount of tables which max out at maybe 4-6 people? Because of this its hard to host a large gathering here without having to rearrange pretty much every table in the place. Fortunately they do offer takeout, however it isnt as authentic as the leaf on table servings.
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
A great hole-in-the-wall joint for delicious Filipino kamayan feast! The inside is small and cozy, with lots of tables side by side and a busy vibe. The kamayan feast was super tasty and filling, with huge portions of seafood, pork belly, pork skewers, and garlic rice. It's great value at $20 per person at the time of this writing. They even offer you more garlic rice if you aren't stuffed already! The tilapia was slightly overcooked compared to what I'm used to, but maybe it's just me. We also had the ube kalaya dessert, which was tasty with a nutty jam-like consistency. All in all, a great experience that I'll definitely come back for.

Yelp
This is actually my first time trying filipino food and eating with my hands it was delicious. The restaurant is pretty small - we went on a monday afternoon and they didnt check the reservation we made since there were a few open tables. My favorite part of the meal was the garlic rice, pork skewer, and fish. We also tried the calamansi juice in a can which is mostly sugar but so good and refreshing and goes well with the meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is great. From California to Canada, Tinuno is the best.. big shoutout to ate and all the stuff. Sooooo friendly
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
We got the shrimp spring rolls, the pork adobo and the spam, rice, eggs dish. We got it as takeout and it was delicious. The spring rolls are nice and flavourful and crisp on the outside even through the takeout process. The pork adobo had a really nice flavour and came with delicious rice. I had never tried Spam before but the sauce they used on it was very yummy and it went really nicely with the rice and eggs. I can see why people like having this for breakfast. No photos were taken because it all smelled so good and we had to jump right in.

Maria C.

Yelp
Very well done, from flavors to presentation, cleanliness, efficiency. And of course warmth and inclusivity. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I love this place. I've been here a handful of times and even had my birthday here (pre-Covid). The unlimited garlic fried rice is my favourite part. I love eating kamayan style (with your hands) and on banana leaves. The price is also very reasonable for what you get! The staff are so kind and friendly. My parents were born in the Philippines so this was a real treat for them. There's a small room on the second floor which was able to house my large group of 16-18 people for my birthday. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
My sweetie and I ventured into Toronto's Upper Jarvis / St. James Town neighbourhood for a late traditional Filipino lunch. After paying for Toronto P street parking about 100 metres away, we walked to this old renovated house turned restaurant, which also now shares a common pathway to a health & wellness business upstairs. We waited 10 minutes in the very small corridor, showed our provincial vaccine passports to allow us to dine indoors, and were then seated at a window table (which made us feel safer based on the narrow venue layout). Our server was very courteous & efficiently tending to our dining experience. We ordered the Tinuno signature Kamayan Feast for $18/person. It was served on a wooden board loaded with Milkfish (..Tilapia was the other choice), squid, mussels, shrimps, pork belly, BBQ pork, garlic rice, eggplant, okra, slices orange, and mango salad. The beverages selected? A can of Coconut Water and a can of Calamansi. What was the dining intrigue? No utensils; you're given a pair of thin plastic gloves to feed yourself! Wow, I thought this was fascinating. Final thoughts: fresh seafood, excellent service, rice served was harder than our preference, would be nice if Tinuno offered a chicken or beef substitution for pork. We will return for another terrific meal!

Yelp
I've been wanted to go to Tinuno since it first opened so was super pumped to finally come here. Overall, fun concept and good for pics but the food was just ok. I give it 2.5-3 stars. The portion was actually quite little and left me feeling quite bloated. The food was also luke warm. The squid tasted too charred , fish was alright ... pork was very tough tasting and hard to chew , everything else tasted just alright. There are free refills for rice- I took advantage of this! Strange thing was the refill came out tasting better than what was initially provided - it was also hot and had a garlic flavor. The initial rice tasted like white rice , think they forgot to add the seasoning to it:/. Service was poor. The waitress explain what was on the table- she left the food without a word. We were never asked if we wanted anything to drink. It also took forever to flag for service. The dining space was crampy but the washroom was actually quite spacious lol ! On a last note , it sounds like the price increased as I recall my brother advising it was $15 pp, now it's $18pp. Either way,I will likely not return!

Yelp
I have been here many times and most recently, my friends and I all got very disappointing food. One of my friends traveled very far just to try this place too. All 3 of us had extremely over cooked food. The dish I got was like a beef rib in tomato sauce. It was so hard to chew and very plain. Not even worth $7 at all. My other 2 friends for the breakfast option. One person had very burnt steak/bed and the other, burnt tasting pork. The pork was also more than half fat. That left maybe 2 bite of actual meat. Needless to say, all 3 of us did not eat most of the food and left hungry. I gave 3 stars for the kamalyan feast which I had the last 2x. They have a lot of protein options, I like the red pork skewer the best. Turon was too sweet for me.

Yelp
There were minor details that could've made this experience a 5 star one. I have changed my reservation multiple times and after a month of all the back and forth, the group of us finally decided on a day to visit. I had to reduce the seat count and it was easily accommodated. I also had to push my time back by 30 min, got some hesitation but they made it work. We ended up arriving 20 minutes after my original time. The Kamayan feast was aesthetically pleasing and delicious to devour. The skewers, garlic rice and lechon had to be my favourite. The tilapia fish was burnt quite a bit and the milkfish was seasoned on the saltier side. With a drink (per person) and the lechon, it worked out to be $25 each, including tips and tax. We were left with a lot of leftovers and everyone was stuffed.

Yelp
Ordered our first every Kamayan Feast and was not disappointed! The pictures feast cost $36 + $4 for 3 pieces of extra shrimps and 3 mussels- great deal right?! The service was amazing, food was also delicious. I especially like the charred milkfish and shrimps, the meat skewer was okay and pretty tasty.

Yelp
The kamayan was definitely a fun experience but overall, the food was just okay. Out of all the food that came with it, the garlic rice was the star of the show. Seasoned perfectly, it was incredible on its own. Meanwhile the other dishes were just okay. Both the milkfish and tilapia was strangely sour, the squid needed to be seasoned a bit more. But the shrimp and bbq Pork was good and the mango in the mango salad was fresh.

Yelp
So yummy!! My two friends and I had the kamayan, split a sinigang soup, and some ube ice cream. Everything was really great, the sinigang, mango salad, shrimp, milkfish, and garlic rice are still in my mind. We got some ube ice cream to top it off (even though we were completely stuffed) and it was nicely flavored, not too sweet. Also reasonably priced and super friendly service! Would recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Delicious food. The Kamayan feast lived up to all the hype with flavorful meat and the garlic sticky rice was so good I've been searching everywhere for a recipe. Will definitely be coming back here when we are in Toronto

Yelp
First time trying Philippine cuisine, it's definitely different experience, the rice is amazing, and meats are good, but I m not a big salty fish guy so... haven't tried it

Yelp
The food and restaurant is the same as what I remembered when my friend and I dined here at Tinuno a few years ago. All we could remember was how dry and rubbery the fish was.. and too much of our surprise, it was still the same food quality as before. Nothing has really changed. I've been advised by many people who have dined here that it isn't the best place for Kamayan feast and there are much better ones in Toronto. However, the price is pretty cheap ($18.95 per person) for the amount of food we had so quantity over quality here. If you pay cash, taxes are excluded. Funny enough, among us five who dined here yesterday, we said that the garlic rice was the only tasty item in this Kamayan feast. It is certainly worth the first try but I wouldn't come back again. I'm looking forward to redeem my Kamayan experience at Casa Manila next week.

Yelp
This was my first time having a full Filipino meal and it was an amazing experience! My friends and I made a reservation the night before for a Friday evening and the time availabilities were already limited, so we came at 5:30. When I arrived, the restaurant was really small and packed... space is really limited so prepare to feel slightly claustrophobic. As the seats are bench style, you do have to hang your jacket at the side of the restaurant which is a bit burdensome when there are other people sitting right in front of the racks. This is the only downfall of this restaurant but it's definitely worth it for the food! Immediately after arriving, the server began setting up our table with the banana leaves and orange slices/mango pieces. The waitress told me that it takes about 25-30 minutes for them to prepare the food, so I placed the orders right away before my entire group arrived. We all ordered the kamayan feast at $15/person. When the food arrived, everything tasted freshly prepared. I enjoyed the pork belly the most, and also really liked the squid, pork belly skewer, and garlic rice. Everything complimented each other perfectly. I also ended up trying the ube ice cream for dessert, which was the cherry on top of a great meal. My friend even said that the ice cream was enough to push her 4.5 star rating to a 5. The texture was nice and it was just the right amount of sweetness. I'm really impressed with the experience here and would definitely recommend it. It's best to come here with a reservation because the place gets busy. Small thing to note is that though the kamayan feast was yummy, the serving size might not leave you feeling stuffed/tie you down for the rest of the night (especially since you're essentially sharing your combined portions with the entire table). Don't let the tight squeeze of the restaurant deter you, it's a hole in the wall restaurant but the food experience is amaaaazing.

Yelp
This place gets packed during busy hours. There are two levels, first floor and second with limited seating. It's best to make reservations ahead of time. The food is amazing, delicious, neatly presented and affordable. Unlimited refill of their garlic fried rice. Part of the experience of eating with your hands. They provide disposable gloves as well. Definitely would come back here once dine in is allowed again.

Yelp
Came here with a bunch of my coworkers for kamayan... and absolutely LOVED IT! I would 100% come back here and for $15, how could you go wrong? You have unlimited garlic rice, shrimp, eggplant, okra, milk fish (bangus), crispy pork on the side, pork skewers and pork belly mmmm if I missed any, regardless, they have a great spread for a great price. A little crowded I must say, but it adds to the real deal of how kamayan is supposed to be! If you are curious about kamayan, I would definitely come here. :) it is a hit on my list! Must try!
