"Tiny Thai is a Winsooki institution and has been churning out delicious, homestyle Thai food since it opened in 2004. Fan favorites include crispy duck krapow, tom kha, spicy eggplant, and pad kee maow. Tiny Thai is BYOB, so bring your favorite wine or visit the Beverage Warehouse just down the street in Winooski, which offers Vermont’s largest selection of craft beer." - Anna Darrow, Heather Platt

My first time there, it's Friday at 6pm and I get the last open table. At 7, there was a 45 min wait time! People love this place here. I sat next to a couple in their 50s who drove 2h to eat here! The atmosphere is great, people are friendly, happy, young clean couples and groups. The server is busy but very nice when he stops at our table. He recommends the spring rolls since we wanted something fast. The service was fast considering the place was packed. The vegetable pad Thai was sweet (maybe too much for me) and there was an after taste I didn't like (maybe an oil). My partner got a Chef's Vegetable Stir Fry. The portion was generous and there were a lot of vegetables.

I’ve eaten a lot of Thai food in the US, but never like Tiny Thai. The items on the back page of the menu are worth the experience for something more unique. This time, I tried the Kwit Teo Pad Cha and loved every bite of chili, fresh peppercorn, and basil along with the seafood and wide noodles.

Google
What a cute gem! Very tasty authentic thai food. Very cozy and excellent service! It was just what we needed on a snowy cold night.

Google
Very clean establishment, super nice servers. We had the spring rolls, and they weren't all that impressive. Very much like Chinese fast food. We also got the crispy duck. The flavors were spot-on, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. We were so disappointed that they put the hot, steaming veggies on top of the duck. It took all the crispiness out of the skin and made it soggy. Please don't do that! Otherwise, it would have been a perfect dish. The plates on other people's tables also looked delicious.

Google
Great food and great service! The pad Thai is my favorite but they have so many good options! Staff is also really great and friendly.

Google
Tiny Thai has quickly become my favorite restaurant in the county. I can't believe it took me so long to give this spot a try, but after my first dinner there, I was hooked—I even went back the following weekend because it was that incredible. The menu offers an amazing variety with well-labeled dishes, and nearly everything can be modified to accommodate dietary or allergy needs. Although it's BYOB, they provide ice water, which came in handy when I forgot to bring my own. The interior is charming, though it seems many customers opt for takeout. The food is prepared shortly after you order, and the appetizer menu is packed with classics, each paired with a variety of delectable sauces. The vegetables are fresh, the spices and sauces are out of this world, and the proteins are top-notch. For my vegan friends, they offer tofu and vegan duck, while their chicken, shrimp, and duck have all been incredibly impressive. So far, I've tried the ginger duck and the pad prik pao with duck—both were absolutely mind-blowing. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions you get. I honestly can't say enough good things about Tiny Thai. You simply have to try it.

Google
Great service, delicious food. Nice to see and try the “Authentic Thai” menu - I got the crispy pork belly dish and it was great. Augmented by it being a meal at the end of a long drive but I trust it would be just as good regardless. Big portions will make good leftovers!

Google
Beware of an unexpected overcharge, as a matter of principle not big $. Our bill was overcharged by a $3 extra tip on top of what we already tipped once we checked our credit card bill. We left a generous $7 tip, but were charged on our CC for +$3 extra amounting to a $10 tip. We have all copies of the receipts. We are disputing. This is just a terrible feeling if they entered their own tip and maybe thought we would not notice. But maybe it was a mistake...

Yelp
Good Thai food, definitely gets you full. I've never eaten inside the restaurant, so I am unable to comment on the atmosphere and service but it seems nice every time I pick up my food. Had one bad experience with a guy at the pickup counter but besides that I highly recommend this place and the pad Thai. Bob B.

Yelp
Went around 7:30pm and there was a long wait for a table. Asked about takeout and was told that wait was at least an hour. Decided to just get snack, so ordered a lemon ginger tea and mango sticky rice. The mango sticky rice came out in 5 minutes, which was unexpected but apparently the cashier stole it from another order to rush me out the door. The dish was okay - nothing special to write home about. The lemon ginger tea was light and refreshing. I might return for the tea but I'll skip the food and the wait.

Yelp
Very cute! Small restaurant and pretty lively. The pad Thai was amazing. Service was good for a small restaurant that seemed like it had a ton of takeout orders. Server and guy working front desk/phone were both pleasant. The papaya salad was supposed to be mild but was very spicy.

Deanna L.

Yelp
Delicious, affordable and large portions. Stopped by on Tuesday evening and the restaurant was packed. The service was quick and efficient so it only about 20 minutes before getting seated. The Massaman curry was super flavorful and the chicken Satay was juicy and tender. I love that you could order extra things on the side like the crispy duck and you can BYOB.

Amy B.

Yelp
Never been disappointed by this place. The food is the best Thai in our region, the servers are lovely and the atmosphere is nice too.

Yelp
FINALLY! A Thai restaurant that brings legit heat without begging for it. The 'only for experts' menu page is where it's at. Wonderful balance of flavors with just the right fish saucy umami mix. In town to see UVM daughter. I'll be back with every future visit.

L H.

Yelp
Ordered take out. Was told 25-30 minutes, food was ready in 20 minutes. In and out quickly on a busy Saturday night. Food was good. Pad Thai noodles slightly over cooked/mushy, but maybe because it sat for 20 or so mins in car before I ate it. Flavoring good for both dishes, large serving sizes. Would recommend both som tam and chicken pad Thai to others and will be back to get more myself!

Shivangi S.

Yelp
Amazing experience! I love that they have a vegan and vegetarian menu. Lots of unique options. I did think it was weird that their yellow curry is more dry? It is not very liquid, but rather a solid dish. I thought the pad Thai was delicious and very perfectly balanced between spicy and sweet. I also like that they do BYOB for free!

Bill R.

Yelp
Whoa! I asked for Medium Spice on my Drunken Noodles and I'm still drinking water to beat the flames down lol. Simple restaurant, with Great Food! The dining area could be a bit more organized or arranged a little better to accommodate more, but that's just me. Also, the noise level was a bit more than I prefer, but again - not much you can do about it. There was not many waiters or waitresses that I observed, but the one I did see, made the rounds. I'm visiting from Florida and I will DEF return before I head back to Orlando.

Michael T.

Yelp
Great food. They have been a staple of the area for years now. There is a lot of competition from other Thai restaurants but they are still the best!

Jon S.

Yelp
Used to live above this place. i would spend $40 almost every week. Best Pad Thai i ever had. I usually added Pong Garee and a tom kha soup. The staff are great. I can't wait to go to there new place. I wish they had delivery. I would order every week again.

Meghan M.

Yelp
Ordered for pick up and arrived at the time I was given. Waited an additional 50 minutes before my food was ready. No apology from anyone. I ordered Pad Thai and the peanuts were burned, which gave the entire meal a burnt flavor and ruined it. Considering the wait and the terrible Pad Thai, I would not recommend anyone spend their money here.

Lily F.

Yelp
I was very happy to find this place while we were staying near Burlington. What a treat it is to eat some legit Thai food after such a long time. I will say that this place is super busy. While we were waiting for our food to be packed we must have seen 30 other people come pick up their food. We ordered the pork belly and Chinese broccoli, the Kua Kling, the larb gai, and tom yum and tom kha. Everything was tasty but a bit too salty for me. I'm thinking a bit too much fish sauce. With that said, I still really enjoyed everything and would recommend if you're craving some good Thai

Tara V.

Yelp
Amazing food and wonderful service. We go often and order a variety of dishes and never leave hungry or disappointed!

Melissa W.

Yelp
I'm so bummed, I've been going to tiny Thai for 12 years maybe more, the past few times I got takeout it's been the tiniest portion. This time I got my order with an unusually small portion in both takeout trays and I chomped down on a good size piece of wire. I don't ever give a bad review and I know this is a mistake possibly cleaning their pans, but the portion should be a decent size for a vegetarian fried rice. I don't get any protein and asked for more veggies and rice besides the protein. It's never been this way but $16 for a cup and a half of fried rice is kind of a lot. I love you guys so much and want to keep supporting your business because I'm obsessed with your food but I've been sad the past 4 times I've ordered. I used to live around the corner and get takeout every Friday. I still get takeout every other month but I'd like to see a bit of a bigger portion for the price. I want to stress how much I love this restaurant and how amazing their food is!

Genevieve C.

Yelp
Food was good. Nothing really stood out except the service. It was pretty bad but they were busy. I would've tipped less but I hoped the bad waiters tip out BOH and I don't want them to suffer because the FOH would rather chat with all the other employees than do their job. I happened to have a few water bottles on me so my party didn't suffer. I might get take out in the future but doubt I'll ever dine in. Even when busy, they could still be a little attentive. And like I said, the food was just good so it'll take a bit to get me out for it. I was more disappointed for some of my guests because this was their first experience with Thai food. Poor service frequently negates any food experience.

Gigi B.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Service is good. Ambiance is wholesome. It can get very busy but the staff try to attend promptly to everyones's needs.

Yelp
Lovely hidden little gem with the B E S T Thai dishes in V E R M O N T!!! Everytime I visit a new thai place, I always ha e to try their pad thai. For lunch, you get a choice of beverage, entree and appetizer. I had the most amazing chicken Padthai ever, along with chicken skewer and a side of salad and Ginger sweet iced tea (made with real ginger). The combo is perfect, the portion is generous, I was stuffed and happy when we leave. Just like the name of the restaurant, the place is tiny so you should try to get here early or you might have a wait a bit. Nevertheless, the wait is totally worth it!!

Yawanit C.

Yelp
Super yummy and super authentic. I wish they'd open a place in NYC. They would kill it out here!!!

Gabriel A.

Yelp
Fantastic appetizers and a great selection of vegan entrees! I was absolutely thrilled to see vegan Tom Ka soup and taro in their crispy tempura appetizer. I first went to this restaurant during COVID and their pickup process was easy, quick, and very safe. Sometimes it's tough to find vegetarian-friendly Thai restaurants due to the abundance of fish sauce and oyster sauce hidden in menu items that would otherwise be vegetarian, but this restaurant made it simple and easy!

Yelp
Read my old review to see that I am not writing this lightly. I have been a frequent customer of Tiny Thai for years & love their food. I just can't deal with the hassle of ordering anymore. I have given them plenty of chances & benefits of the doubt. Here's one of many examples: tonight, I wanted to call in my order. It took a total of 71 phone calls to get through (we had 3 people calling at once). We finally get through and place our order - I'm told the pickup time is 8:20 so I arrive at 8:20. I then stand out in the cold until 8:45 when my food is finally ready. To be clear, I would've been fine with an 8:45 pickup time (or even an 8:40 with a 5 minute delay) but waiting for 25 minutes isn't cool, especially when it's 10 degrees out. Not to mention I was practically shamed for wanting my change back when I paid in cash, so I reluctantly left it. I don't leave bad reviews lightly, and I hate to do this, but I'm honestly so disappointed with the past 5-10 visits to Tiny Thai that I feel compelled to write this. I will say the food is good, no doubt

Alexandra T.

Yelp
Honestly some of the best Thai food I've eaten (and I used to live in San Francisco, which has a lot of amazing Thai restaurants!). I keep coming back for the chicken satay, pad see ew, and fried rice - so yummy :)

Laura S.

Yelp
I am quite surprised by its 3.5 stars. They deserve five! Great and friendly service. I was amazed by how many takeout bags they had ready to go! Their spring rolls and chicken pad Thai was so delicious. I wish I had ordered more to take home! You won't regret a visit.

Steven C.

Yelp
Best pork belly I've ever had and my pick up order on a Saturday night was ready quicker than expected

James A.

Yelp
Amazing food and value. If you like Thai in this area there is no other place like this. Also byob !!!

Maria D.

Yelp
Great food! Flavor of my whole meal was outstanding. Ended up getting take out instead of eating there, although it was inviting to stay. Take out was packaged up nicely for take out. No spilling of soup like some other take out places. Parking was a little difficult. Limited spaces.

Arjun A.

Yelp
Solid Thai restaurant in the Burlington area. The flavors and choice of dishes are great for the location but I can't say this is the uber-best Thai food I've ever had. But it's pretty darn good. The portions are excellent, even during a pandemic, which is pretty amazing. An order of pad thai for example should feed you for at least 2 meals unless you are a ravenous bear, which in that case you would probably need to head to the BBQ joint down the road. The curries were all spot on in flavor and taste, with just the right amount of sweetness from the coconut milk and a dash of spicy flavor to follow it up with a kick. Although there are some good options for traditional Thai dishes, some popular ones like Khao Soi are missing. Totally understandable given the location but hopefully this part of the menu is still in the works. There definitely is potential here!

Morgan V.

Yelp
Just got home to eat some drunken noodle and found this metal, round thing on top of my noodles...I was really tempted to not eat the dish, but it smelled so good. So I proceeded with caution... So yes, I was incredibly disappointed to find metal in my dinner, but honestly the drunken noodle was de-lic-ious!! I would normally never go back to a place where this has happened, but it was so tasty...so hopefully no metal next time.

Andy C.

Yelp
We found this spot and ordered takeout during covid. Tiny Thai is the best thai restaurant in VT. We ordered a variety including Panang curry, Massaman curry, pad krapow moo grob, khao-pat bhoo, fried eggplant, and pad kee maow. Well worth our trip to Winooski and we'll be back! Their thai spicy is actually spicy too!

Katie S.

Yelp
I always make a point to get Tiny Thai when I'm in Burlington. Calling your order in can be difficult, but ordering online is easy and pick-up is a breeze.

Andrew K.

Yelp
Had lunch here with friends and everyone enjoyed their meals quite a bit. The lunch special which includes a drink, app, and main for just over $9 is a solid deal. My favorite dish was the massaman curry, and the broth was so delicious that we slurped it all up afterwards. The pad Thai was solid as was the drunken noodle, which has a late hitting spice to it. The spring rolls were super crunchy and surprisingly delicious. My favorite app though was the Moo ping pork on a stick and if I had known the app only came with one I would have ordered a whole side of them. The gyoza was pretty tasty too. In general, from what I've heard from others, this a typical experience here but food quality is not always consistent across the menu so you need to find your favorite menu item and stick with it here. The interior of the place is nice and welcoming. The food came out super fast. Overall, this is the type of solid Thai place where you can come for great value with good flavor and I would definitely come back.

Joe B.

Yelp
Great food and value! Portions are a hearty size. Limited seating at the moment due to covid, but was informed that an outdoor dinning area is coming. I'll definitely be returning.

Scott B.

Yelp
Best spring rolls ever. I also really love the Panang Curry and the drunken noodle is super tasty. The staff is very friendly.

Jane P.

Yelp
Love this place but am super sad they moved! Their new location has a beautiful porch and looks great! I always get the chicken pad Thai. I get the one star (least amount of spice) but it's still too spicy for me. Wish they had a zero star. The staff is excellent and the food is always packed well and on time!

George D.

Yelp
Honestly, maybe because I'm from NYC I was expecting something better. Everyone kept saying that this is the best Thai in the Burlington area...and honestly that's really REALLY sad. The proteins were dry and chewy. The Pad Thai was overly sweetened and honestly, really dry. Even the Pad See Eew was bland. We asked for the signature Thai dishes to be spicy, and I think they thought we were kidding, or they thought we were too "American" and made it really mild. Even the chicken larb was awful..it was dry and it didn't have the obligatory toasted rice inside. What a shame. I just can't bring myself to ordering from here again. Please people, save your calories on something else and go to Boston or NYC to get good Thai food. Unless you know of a better place. Tiny Thai has tiny flavor.

Hannah S.

Yelp
Very good food, lots of options ive ordered many things over the years. Spicy Thai basil fried rice is one of my favs. Also any of their fish dishes always satisfy. A good place to go on a weekend night because it won't be as busy as Burlington. Definitely one of my favorite places in the greater Burlington area!

Todd H.

Yelp
We love this place. Best I've found in vermont in the past 5 years. So much that we had them cater our wedding reception.

Adam L.

Yelp
Tiny Thai is a classic of the area. I only get to go back a couple of times a year now that I live in nyc so when I go I get all my faves. Let's begin with just some of the perks. Good waitstaff and a nice clean space. They also have such a cheap lunch special. $9.18 for an appetizer, salad and main course. I got the soup of the day. Don't remember what it's called but it was spicy, clear cellophane noodles, spinach, ground pork, bean sprouts and some other good stuff. Then ordered TWO orders of the moo ping. Best grilled pork on a stick I've ever encountered. Rounded it out with the super spicy lap gai salad. They also do good curries, fried rice and pad thai. Always interesting specials which are different daily. They also have a special part of the menu that is more traditional Thai dishes. Haven't tried them yet but they look very cool!!!

Sarah M.

Yelp
They are closed on Tuesday's & have not updated their hours online. I'm giving them a 1 strictly bc of their lack of consideration. We drove here & paid for parking just for this restaurant.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Delicious, flavorful Thai food. So glad we found this little place and I know we will return.

Don S.

Yelp
Great little Thai spot in Burlington. We went on a Friday night and it was really busy... they seemed to be doing a good takeout business too. Nothing fancy here. There were 5 of us and were seated quickly at one their large tables because mostly everyone waiting were in groups of 2 and 4 guests. We had the Papaya salad, 1 order of fried rice, 2 orders of chicken Pad Thai, and 1 order of tofu Pad Thai. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was prepared well. The Papaya salad was the best thing ordered, but the other entrees were also good. Warning: They offer a spice level between 1 and 3. I can take my food pretty spicy and the place I usually go I get a 7 on a scale of 1-10 spice. The waitress kindly warned me that a 3 was really hot. So, I got the 2. Even the 2 was really spicy. I would recommend you start with a 1 and have them bring the spice caddy over to adjust to your liking.

Vindaloo King 1.

Yelp
Pad Ped Nau CRUSHES the flavor. The King puts this on par with the best Vindaloos. Not the same, not vindaloo, but totally kickass. It's a byob place so walk a block to the market and get some Vermont DIPAs and prepare to have your flavor buds taken for a thrill ride.

Chris D.

Yelp
Excellent BYOB spot. Very busy but they work very hard to keep the food coming & tables moving. We had traditional Thai dishes Massaman curry plus some of their specialties like Pad Ped Nua and their curry of the day. All were excellent and flavorful. We had crispy pork, duck and chicken in our dishes and the duck in particular was very tasty.

Allison T.

Yelp
Came here for Saturday lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. I ordered their lunch special, which came with a choice of drink, appetizer, and entree, all for under $10. I chose the iced jasmine tea, tom yum soup, and my all time favorite: Pad Khee Mao. Of course I can't comment on the authenticity of the food, not being Thai, but I personally found the flavors rich and satisfying. You can definitely taste undertones of the fish sauce in the tom yum soup and the noodles in the Pad Khee Mao were flavorful and just slightly spicy. Would definitely come back again!!

Bee E.

Yelp
Oh Tiny Thai, you have my heart, and so much of my money. I come here way too much. I can't stop. It's always delicious, and the portions are huge. I have always liked the different things I've ordered, but be warned that everything on the back "authentic Thai" menu is VERY spicy! I also love ordering the specials appetizers, as they are always different and always delicious. Also, they offer great deals for lunch. They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait on a Friday or Saturday.

Aleczander S.

Yelp
Great food...if you can get through to them. Every time you call it says they're busy, not sure if they have phone issues and don't care to fix them or if they have 1B callers.

Mick W.

Yelp
Back of the menu has authentic Thai dishes. Best Pad Thai in Burlington. More importantly doesn't cost your paycheck to eat there unlike most places in the area. If you're uncertain on what you want to get, just ask. Overall one of the best Asian cuisine restaurants in vermont.

Mike C.

Yelp
Excellent Dinner. Spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, ginger chicken, and pad Thai with chicken. All delicious a really flavorful. I drove out into f my way for this one, past my regular Thai take out for this one and I'm glad I did. Unfortunately, the guy working the front entrance for takeout was not helpful or friendly. The snide comments are not appreciated. Great food though.

Richard O.

Yelp
Real deal Thai food. Had to wait a bit for a table but we were five and it was Saturday night. Authentic ingredients and accommodating staff. Worth the wait and will be back when in town. Even got a promise to have my parking ticket covered if need be! Can't beat that. Oh yeah BYOB.

Chilly C.

Yelp
Best Thai in the area! We love their lunch menu which includes drink, appetizer and meal for under $10. Everything is fresh, served hot & tastes delicious! It fills up fast, so be prepared to wait a little bit. And dining room feels crowded but friendly (because everyone loves their food I would imagine)! Just another reason to love Winooski!
