Dallas’ Newest Cocktail Bar Is Now Open In Oak Cliff - Eater Dallas

"Oak Cliff is now home to Tiny Victories, the city’s newest cocktail bar. The new destination for well-mixed drinks is now open at 602 North Tyler Street in Oak Cliff, occupying a 1,000 square foot space that offers seating for 40 drinkers, according to a press release. The spot is going for an “unpretentious” vibe complete with a small 250 square-foot patio that promises comfortable seating. “Oak Cliff is a strong community and we know that trust and respect will be earned, not given,” said Brandon Hays, co-owner of This & That Hospitality, the ownership group behind spots like Ferris Wheelers Barbecue and High Fives. “Our plan is to extend a hand to our neighbors, all while having a good time. A hospitality-first mentality is our focus and we can’t wait to meet everyone.” The cocktails at Tiny Victories are from the mind of Ryan Payne, a barman who has mixed drinks at popular cocktail dens like Midnight Rambler and the now-shuttered Victor Tangos. Tiny Victories is now open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m." - Amy McCarthy

The happy hour here is AMAZING! Each drink was unique and delicious. The bar itself is very cute inside and out. Highly recommend

Google
Not to be confused with Small Victory. Very good selection of spirits for straight pours and solid cocktail skills among the staff. Lets you bring in outside food. DJ on the weekend don’t can get a little loud. Great neighborhood spot.

Google
Wow! Visiting Dallas from Nashville and stumbled upon this place. Literally stumbled because it’s hidden. So glad we did! We had the female bar tender brunette with bangs and was very sweet and attentive. The drinks are absolutely insane the way they taste and presentation. Love this place! I’m not sure of all of the one star vibes but it looks like some drunk girl got all of her friends to write the same review for her. Edit: bartender’s name is Laney and she is phenomenal! Love her!

GLITTER CUPCAKE

Google
Such a nice and quiet place for drinks. I tried 4 different drinks and was not disappointed by any of them. You can tell everything they use from juice to garnish is fresh, the staff is very helpful so if you don’t see something on the menu you like ask.

Google
My wife and I had a phenomenal time thanks to Lani I had the old fashion and she had the bingo mango and the vodka cranberry (pictured) the vibe was amazing and honestly she recommended a bourbon for the old fashion I hadn’t tried and enjoyed it a lot more than usual since I usually don’t switch my choice but this was extraordinary recommendation by her and honestly would give her a raise in position and pay wise( in case your the owner reading this) 10 out of 10 would recommend coming here for happy hour with significant other or friends just for the vibe

Google
I went to tiny victories on 6/13. The drinks were good and service is good and I'd definitely go again. But I had an issue with the volume of the music. Tiny victories has a vibe of a speakeasy but the music was so loud for no reason. It didnt look like the intention of the place was to dance as no one was doing so. I was screaming to talk to the person sitting across from me and even then, I was more so reading lips than hearing anything. Would definitely give the place another visit to see if the loud music was due to a specific DJ that night or if that's normal.

Google
What a delightful location for cocktails whilst visiting Oak Cliff! The waitstaff was super attentive and the drinks are very good too. Want extra olives in your martini? No problem- the bartender is happy to accommodate your request. The outdoor seating is sparse- a couple of tables in front and a lounge off to the side. The lounge would have been more comfortable than the table on Tyler, but their were smokers in the lounge - which made it uncomfortable for those of us who choose not to smoke. Inside, the music was loud. Really loud. My husband and I wanted a quiet post meal cocktail and drinking and taking inside Tiny Victories was not possible. So 4 stars because it is good- but not excellent. And why the neon TYPO sign on top? The bold, bright letters in this vintage area looked like a mistake on the part of the building owner. But TV was good - so Cheers!!!

Google
Such a nice and chill spot for drinks or a date. We tried maybe 10+ different drinks and loved everyone. The 2 Baristas were fantastic, exceptional service and atmosphere all around.

Yelp
Tiny Victories has been one of my go-to spots in South Dallas for a while now, and it never disappoints. Great vibes, amazing drinks, and some of the friendliest bartenders around--all without breaking the bank. I stopped by last Friday before heading to RL Grime at Silo, and it was everything I expected. The energy was on point, with killer DJs setting the mood for Halloween. The bartenders were as cool as always, and the crowd was a great mix of people just looking to have a good time. The only downside? That awful sewage smell that lingers, which really knocks it down a peg. If they could sort that out, it'd be a perfect 10/10. But for now, still a solid 9.8/10. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Thee spot for Happy Hour. Happy hour all day Tuesdays & 4-7pm Wed-Sat. Friendly staff, drinks poured right, and a live DJ on Thursday nights for 'the upper room'. New promo in Wednesday's, you can roll dice for the chance at getting your drink for $0.77 if you roll a 7, otherwise you pay full price. They have 2 TV's behind the bar. One is usually playing a random TV show or movie and the other typically has on an adult cartoon or anime. Music is typically good (gets better as the night goes on in my personal experience). In addition to the indoor seating options they have space for 15-20 in their patio area that offers some climate control in the form of fans or heaters (depending on the season).

Yelp
Everyone needs a tiny victory, and that's exactly what every visit to Tiny Victories is like. Bartenders are always friendly, some of my favorite cocktails anywhere, an incredible happy hour; this is the spot. It's not huge, and it can get a little loud in there when it's full, but if you love good cocktails at good prices, go here.
google avatar

Terrance G.

Yelp
This is a pretty cool spot located in bishop arts. It's not overly huge but they have a good amount of seating as well as plenty of space at the bar. The bartenders were great and very welcome and make a great old fashioned. The happy hour here is good too lasts 4-7 tues- Fri and it's half off of any drinks on their menu
google avatar

Yelp
Came here a couple of weeks ago to meet friends. The drink menu is limited but I didn't try to order anything that wasn't on the menu so I don't know if they'd have served anything else. The drinks seemed creative but maybe a little too "craft" for me? I ordered a Paloma first but it wasn't a traditional Paloma like I'm used to (again, maybe too "arty" for me). The second drink I tried was a blackberry mint tequila thing. Both drinks were pretty and not bad but I wouldn't order the Paloma again. Also, I don't always want the alcohol taste to be so forward. I also wished for some food/snack options but there is no food here. You can bring in your own, though. Service was ok - I think our server was the only one there on a Friday happy hour so maybe she was too busy to be friendly? Overall, this is a cute little place with a nice patio & good location. I'd be willing to go back & try other drinks & hope I can just order a simple cocktail too.

Yelp
This might quickly become my fav neighborhood bar. Oak cliff has a dozen great little bars - some nicer than others. But this one does such a great job of offering excellent cocktails and still holding onto that Oak Cliff vibe without trying too hard. It's not huge, but the size adds to the energy. Big fans!
google avatar

Derek R.

Yelp
5 STARS for Tiny Victories! 1) Good drinks! 2) Good service! 3) Good atmosphere! 4) Good live music!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to this cute cocktail bar for a girls night! Really unique and cute drinks. Happy hour 4-7. And they have a shot that they offer all day that's infused with strawberry vodka and it's pretty good ($5). The bartenders/cocktail servers are nice. It's cute on this inside. Has a non gender bathroom it says: (we don't care). I feel like maybe they should have 2 bathrooms instead of one bc there's only 1 toilet and maybe more than 1 person could go at a time. It's decorated nicely and Surrounded by other cute things you can walk to. Beware THERE IS NO FOOD here. Would definitely be back

Yelp
It's been 3 whole year since my last review. Let me tell you! This place is phenomenal!!!! The staff are top notch. They really care about their craft. If so decide to come more than once, they will remember you and welcome you like your family. If your looking for a after dinner drink the weekdays are awesome. If your looking to party, come on the last Sunday of the month. It's called paradise and they pull out all the stops and change into a club with some of the best DJ's in the metroplex. This is one mainstay in Bishop Arts you have to check out if you happen to be in the area. Totally Kenny Powers APPROVED!!!!
google avatar

TJ W.

Yelp
My sister and I ran in here for a quick appetizer and drink. The space is limited, and so are the drink options. There is no food, but we saw a few people bringing in pizza, so it's bring your own food.
google avatar

Shruti J.

Yelp
We came here for drinks based on recommendation from our hotel concierge and drinks were nice. Service was prompt and courteous. Prices were reasonable. Recommend
google avatar

Brittney T.

Yelp
Bartender Drew was amazing!! He was super knowledgeable about drinks in general let alone the menu. The word Tiny is definitely a great way to describe this place as it was pretty small. You want to go early during happy hour to get a good seat because it fills up quickly. They had an issue with bees when we arrived so hopefully they have that under control now. I would definitely go back!!

Noah W.

Yelp
Came here one time with my girl to grab some drinks. It was recommended to me by one of my friends and I must say it was worth it. The drinks were amazing and the service was too. One of the bartenders (JC I think his name was) was great. He had some great drink recommendations, super cool to talk to, and overall me and my girl had a great time. Definitely will come back again.

Jon K.

Yelp
Bar needs to advise on their website that they are a private club. We believe they lied to us just because we had a child. We walked in with our quiet child and were immediately told they are a "private club" and we needed to vacate. Would never go to this place knowing how rude they were.

Maritza S.

Yelp
This was is small but very cute. We visited when there was a live band and really enjoyed it. The drinks were strong but very good.
google avatar

Nat S.

Yelp
The happy hour prices here are incredible. But what also is incredible are their classics on the menu. It's honestly difficult to find a bar that makes the perfect sazerac or has classics like the red hook. They have some allocated bourbons at a very good price for a pour. This place is out of the way for me, but when I make it into Dallas, I always try to stop here! I love it!
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
This place is really cool and it's in a cool spot. I still can't believe how Oak Cliff, Bishop Arts District has been transformed into these cool little hole in the wall, cool drinking spots. I grew up in these streets as a kid, more near Bishop Arts and it's really cool that it's one of THE hot spots to go now in Dallas. Like I said before Dallas deserves these cool little nooks like every major city has. Now to the drinks...they were really good, they were well priced for happy hour and they have an outdoor seating area for you smokers out there. The service was kinda slow, but other than that, it is a go to spot for some good drinks. Btw, this place looks huge in some of the pics I've seen here on Yelp, but it is a pretty small place, don't let that deter you though. I almost forgot to mention, they only serve are drinks, no bar food.
google avatar

Shonya L.

Yelp
Came to Tiny Victories for a drink. I told the Bartender it's my Birthday and to make me something. He asked two questions and from there he made me the most perfect drink. I now have a new favorite cocktail. The atmosphere is very nice. Everyone seemed to be welcome at this spot. Great experience.
google avatar

Christopher V.

Yelp
Tiny Victories was an accidental find after I somehow entered the wrong destination in Uber. I consider this destined fate. Instead of calling another Uber, I stepped inside. Good choice. The DJ was spinning a Prince tribute, lol. Service was perfect and the drinks were above average. Great place to sip and chill. The music wasn't overwhelming or loud. I definitely enjoyed my night. Tiny Victories for the win B-)
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Favorite cocktail bar in Bishop Arts! Tiny Victories has amazing cocktails and great service. All of their cocktails are delicious, my favorite is the Victor Tango. I've been pre-Covid and during Covid, and have had all great experiences. Bonus, they have happy hour on weekdays- 1/2 off cocktails.
google avatar

Brigitte K.

Yelp
New cocktail bar in the Bishop Arts area on the corner of Davis and Tyler with knowledgeable bartenders. We got an Ameretto sour and La Dona with mezcal; both were good and all drinks are handcrafted. Chill vibes, good for after work hours, and game watching.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
When I walked in, it stuck me as a tiny neighborhood bar. But, once I got talking to the bartenders and looked at the menu, I saw how many great bourbons and classic drinks they have here. Great place to come for a classic cocktail or a pour of some good bourbon.
google avatar

Julie h.

Yelp
Such a cool, hip spot. Came in with several girlfriends for some drinky drinks! Happened to be happy hour which was a major PLUS! Half off domestic beer, wine and cocktails! They had a nifty selection of cocktails. I opted for the 1916 aviation which was picturesque but tasted like medicine. Just not my taste but I would definitely find something I would like. Since were bar hopping I'll have to try another time. Life is all about the tiny victories, right?
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
The Drinks were great & the prices were even better. The service the bartenders provided was top notch. Coming from Florida with the best bars this place was 5 star!

rich s.

Yelp
Truly a wonderful experience. A perfect combination of laid back environment with upscale classic cocktails. The warm, attentive, and welcoming staff take good care of the guests. It's truly a gem; you need to check it out.
google avatar

Dianna A.

Yelp
I went here for a first date and it did not disappoint. Both my drinks were tequila based and were refreshing and well made. They had the right amount of ice and tequila to help with the heat and calm my nerves. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Kunal S.

Yelp
We have been here a few times and have had a great time every time . In fact I went for their New Year's Eve party as well and it was quite well managed. The place has a very 'neighborhood bar' kinda vibes but it offers some really good cocktails . I am a fan of their boulevardier and mezcalling ! They do stock some great top shelf liquor and can always stir up something unique based on your preference . The bartenders are friendly and the staff is cordial . 5 stars for a un experience for cocktail lovers in the area .
google avatar

Yelp
I will not be where I am much longer. I have finally hit a point where this has gone beyond valid threat to vivid reality. When this happens I can stand firmly on both feet, and tell you that I will be seated here often. This is the place for me. Clean, friendly, relaxed, with a great "pour". It's almost time for me to disappear from here. I am ready to be here.
google avatar

Foodie By N.

Yelp
Great mixology bar. Amazing Happy Hour! New discovery for us. Great service as well. Kept coming around and explaining the drinks.
google avatar

Taelyr R.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails! Expertly curated and executed. I'm more of a classic cocktail kinda girl and my world exploded from having a sazerac made with rye AND cognac . It was unfortunately a one drink kind of night when I went but I will certainly be back.
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
Tiny Victories is one of my favorite cocktail bars in Dallas. Their happy hour has very reasonably priced drinks at about $5 a pop. The drinks are well-made craft cocktails with a variety of spirits and flavors. The aviation is my personal favorite... it makes me feel so fancy! I love the ambiance and the subtle nods to hip-hop (there are crocheted decorations on the wall with lyrics by Biggie yooo) as well as the creative/quirky/fun drink names.
google avatar

Patricia C.

Yelp
I want to give it five stars but somethings just weren't working. The drinks. The drinks look beautiful but fell flat. Especially the Bidi Bidi Bom Bom. I love mint, but the used so much! The restroom situation is also weird. There's a restroom right smack in the center of the bar. So lack of privacy is a big issue. The bar is beautiful! Music is good and it's dimly lit. Perfect spot to take a blind or first date but not to go with a group of friends who want to hang out.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Found this place by pure happen-stance and wasn't disappointed. We had planned on going out to other places after this, but the...interesting..choice of movies they had, combined with the relaxed atmosphere, and delicious bourbon cocktails kept us there the whole time. Looked down at the watch and realized "oh wow, we've been here almost 4 hours now" Paul was fantastic. Great service, very friendly and welcoming, a true example of what hospitality should be. Would highly recommend anyone go there, and ask for Paul. He got creative with bourbon cocktails and gave us several variations of old fashioneds, manhattans, and more. The couple sitting next to us got a made-from-scratch margarita that I'm determined to try next time. Thanks so much for a great night, Tiny Victories! (Also, how can you not love a place with a Bob Ross shrine?!)
google avatar

Aminah M.

Yelp
The drinks, OMG DELICIOUS! I came here for a yelp event, and they did not disappoint. I told the mixologist i liked old fashions but i didn't want an old fashion. He made me 'The Go To'. It was so boozy and delicious I was in love. Tasted old fashion adjacent and super delicious. For my next drink he made me "A good Time". I loved both drinks, but A Good Time was the clear winner. It was citrusy, crisp and super boozy(i love my whiskey cocktails as you can see). I will definitely hit this place up when i'm in the Bishop Arts district. Its another great cocktail bar and i love the 1/2 price HH!! Only thing, i wish they had little bites, i was starving after those tasty drinks.
google avatar

Briona P.

Yelp
The little gem is awesome! ALL of the drinks we had were DELCIOUS! We had these drinks (in order of deliciousness) 2007 Victor Tango, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, BYOGNT (Bring your own gin and tonic- not on menu anymore), and Kessler Sour. Cute little vibe, great drink
google avatar

Brad W.

Yelp
I'm glad bars like this exist. Parking was convenient (big plus!), and drink prices were reasonable for the experience. Next time, I'll try to make happy hour for 1/2 price cocktails! Only drawback was the music got louder and didn't follow a genre - I was hoping for a more chill mood. I will be back.
google avatar

Ayo R.

Yelp
Love this place! Great crafted cocktails and cool ass bartenders. Definitely a go-to for happy hour!
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
All the drinks here are so good. I've come close to throwing up in so many Ubers because I bounce around the menu to try all the delicious, well-crafted cocktails. Tequila, rum, beer, and bourbon definitely do not belong in my body simultaneously, but I am not a person you would identify as having limits. This cozy spot is really a standout in Bishop Arts, and is genuinely one of the only reasons I trek out to that neighborhood. It's basically Narnia as far as my GPS is concerned. Despite my overt homosexuality, I don't love fruity or colorful drinks, but the "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" is the exception. RIP Selena.
google avatar

Brooklynn S.

Yelp
Zerø went out of his way to make sure our group was warm and comfortable. He moved around the heaters to ensure our group was vibing. 10/10
google avatar

Angelica C.

Yelp
Bomb place!! Paul, Lorenzo and 36 are great bartenders. This is my first time here and they've made me feel like I've been coming here for years. The atmosphere is amazing. It's almost Christmas and they have this place decked out from top to bottom. The music is dope. The drinks are amazing - get a painkiller. Great drink! Their drink menu is phenomenal.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I came in on a Saturday afternoon because day drinking was on the bill for the day. We were visiting Dallas and wanted to wander Bishop Arts. Tiny Victories was a perfect start as they open early and we could easily walk around from there. I was initially surprised by the number of people at the bar at that time of day, but after having a few drinks and enjoying the ambiance, I totally got it. Tiny Victories is the perfect kind of cosy, with a nice outdoor patio and enough space for several small groups. As my preference, I took a seat at the bar with my husband. The bartenders were outstanding. Super friendly despite the surprise rush at 3 and turning out solid cocktails. They were hosting a Beachbum Berry Christmas pop-up in addition to their normal menu. My husband went nuts ordering tiki drinks, he was definitely on Cloud 9. I ordered from their normal menu and had several cocktails that were truly outstanding. We are big tiki fans and my husband was highly impressed with his drinks. But we both agreed the Mezcaling I ordered was the best drink we ordered. Every ingredient highlighted the mezcal, it was perfectly balanced and just delicious. It was the best cocktail we had during our trip. Highly recommend this spot. It's was a perfect start to wandering around Bishop Arts.
google avatar

Terry D.

Yelp
It's my go to neighborhood bar and I've been there enough that the owner recognizes me. Could be because me and my friend are probably the oldest clients; it's a rather young crowd. And it's predominantly white and we're two older Black ladies but we love it! The pours are generous, the space is intimate and the staff is SO friendly. I recommend it!
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Heard about this place through the Dallas Observer and it did not disappoint. We got here at 5:15pm for a few drinks before dinner and 30 mins after we got here the place started getting packed, which was a great sign. This place has a very speakeasy but casual vibe at the same time. No sign, and tinted windows that really add to the ambiance. The Old Fashioneds were great and so was my Sazerac. The service was also great and so was the manager Brian. He was super helpful and made solid drinks. I would highly recommend this place and will for sure be back soon.
google avatar

Madi G.

Yelp
This is literally the greatest bar in existence. The most amazing people work here and hang out here. Long live Tiny Victories.

Yelp
Bummed- Having visited the establishment in the past with great results, I was floored tonight. Unknowingly stepped into "Bitchy Bingo" night. Being a product of New Orleans, there's not much I haven't experienced. It was not the content but the treatment received that concerns me. Dallas has had problems with discriminatory behavior toward various groups, some resulting in death. So it floored me with I was subjected to "age shamming" and taunting when I entered the bar. A patron even offered to suggest another bar. I was in the bar I wanted to be in and did not feel that I should and did not leave until receiving a cocktail. Bars are usually welcoming places, hopefully free of judgement. I do not seek to be part of someone else's entertainment and don't appreciate being made an object of ridicule. I hope management thinks before subjecting their patrons to potentially uncomfortable treatment. I'm sure those in attendance knowingly saw no problem but several others entered unknowingly and appeared less than thrilled. Many of those ducked out at the first opportunity. I have no problem with promotions and special nights but, regular folks need to be able to access without risk. If you want to close for special events, then do so. If you disagree with this review I ask that you think back to the last time you felt uncomfortable and maybe you will better understand my comments.
google avatar

Shane F.

Yelp
A cool, friendly and chill bar in an up and coming neighbourhood. Unlike many other bars in Dallas, the price tag for these drinks is not unreasonable. My favorite had to be the old-fashioned, which tends to be my go-to drink. The flavors were lovely, and while some of the other cocktails were not as impressive (such as the daiquiri), I enjoyed most of what I sampled. Its a nice spot for a date night, or a great place to spend some time with friends. Service is a smidge slow, with one server for the room (or so it appeared), but the ambiance makes it comfortable to wait
google avatar

Reena G.

Yelp
This bar is so cute. I loved the vibe here. Its small but service was on point. Everyone seemed to like their cocktails. I liked my mocktail. It was refreshing. The prices here are lower as well which is nice. Definitely a fun lil bar to catch up with friends.

Sami Y.

Yelp
I love that we have a neighborhood bar that's within walking distance with a cool vibe. The drinks are great and the atmosphere is good for the bishop arts area. However, the last few times I've been here the entire bar smells like sewage. I figured it was a one time only thing, but I went again last night and it definitely smells like toilet everywhere you go. With that aside, it is definitely a hidden treasure in our area though and we plan on coming back often.
google avatar

Yelp
Tiny Victories is one of Oak Cliff's many gems! It is a small space but very warm and welcoming. They also have a small patio for your sunshine needs. I've probably stopped in a dozen times during Happy Hour (T-F 4-7). The staff is friendly. Swift service during non peak hours. Happy Hour can draw a huge crowd. Service is still great but takes a little longer. They have a menu of 20 classic cocktails and some signature drinks mixed it. I've made my way through 13 of them and all of them are delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and picture worthy. I feel like a regular and plan to keep up my weekly visits. Tiny Victories is a nice treat after a long day or a great start to the weekend.
