Austin Restaurant Dish Recommendations by Eater Austin Editors in 2022 | Eater Austin

"A popular tiny to-go pastry stand with an excellent pastry lineup beyond the famed cookies — from savory sausage biscuits to fudgy brownies — and temptations like strawberry ice cream; it gets busy around noon, so earlier visits are recommended." - Eater Staff

Tiny’s Milk & Cookies Memorial

Google
Wow, the cookies here are no joke, they are one of the better taste and cookies I’ve ever had! Their strawberry Matcha was pretty good too, I like that ice that they use. Overall, super friendly service with the gigantic menu. I somehow didn’t see the strawberry Matcha anywhere on the physical menu at the spot however found out about it through social media. I highly recommend the spot, they have a cute outdoor seating. I highly recommend it would come back

Google
Very cute bakery that has lovely quick service. Would recommend their lattes, I got an iced almond milk latte and it was really good. (The lavender one was good too!) their chocolate chip cookies are delicious too. Doughy and almost raw in the middle (which I love!!) The milk & cookies ice cream was packed with cookie chunks, the ice cream itself reminded me of Hagen daz. Again, would recommend.

Google
Addicting chocolate chip cookies and milk and cookies ice cream. The strip of stores around it are bougie and there's a pretty seating area in the front with a little lawn area where kids like to play around - good place for a meetup or quick date. Cookies here were about 2X thicker than those at the River Oaks location which was confusing - I prefer the thinner cookie. It was still delicious though. The ice cream was consistent and delicious. Service was fast!

Google
this place was super cute. the girls there were super nice and funny and suggested great sweet treats to try. Had a nice little patio area and was overall super yummy. 10//10 :P

Google
Delicious cookies and drinks with a large outdoor seating area. There’s a turf area where children and patrons can sit and play. It’s a great place to chill on a sunny day. I’d come back and order more!

Google
I’m not usually into sweets, but this chocolate chip cookie won me over. Crispy on the outside, soft and moist inside — the texture was perfect. Not overly sweet, just rich and satisfying. Just finished a cookie for lunch break

Google
I was looking for a place to take my wife out for a treat and came across Tiny's Milk & Cookies Memorial. I asked what the best treat was and the lady at the counter told me that her most popular item is the Chocolate Chip Cookie. So, naturally, I ordered it and the Seasonal Bread Lemon Blueberry Thyme, the Gluten Free Chocolate Crinkle Cookies and a decaf oat milk latte. The taste of the treats was divine! I even enjoyed the smooth taste of the latte. This is an outdoor, order at the window bakery so be prepared for the weather. There's no real covered seating, but there's a nice big green turf if you wanna bring the kids so that they can run around and burn off some of that sugar. I'm giving this place a five star rating. I enjoyed it, the taste was great and it's a fun place to bring a date. It does get kind of crowded and there was a line, but worth it.

✍️This place reminds me of a small town mom-and-pop fresh bakeries type spot. You can only eat outside at the tables so don't expect to be inside for bad🌧️ weather. They had a variety of treats and sweets for the kids and adults. Although I have not tried everything it definitely look tasty I had the blueberrie🫐 skone and gingerbread cookie with cool refreshing water. This place feels comfortable in a busy environment

Yelp
Tiny's might be one of my all time favorite cookie spots. Their cookies are buttery and slightly chewy. I love the sprinkle ones the most!! Chocolate chip is a classic. I wish the cookies were a bit bigger. The vibes at this location are cute. It's outdoors. The workers are sweet! The chai was pretty good.

Yelp
Tiny's Milk & Cookies has by far the BEST chocolate chip cookies ever, and I'm so happy they opened up a location in the Memorial City area. This spot has such a relaxing vibe with outdoor seating and a nice patch of green space for little kiddos to run around. Most recently, I ordered an iced sugar-free vanilla latte. It unfortunately wasn't my favorite and was surprisingly a little too sweet for me (and I have a huge sweet tooth!), but it was still decent. The staff was so kind and even helped me decide between a sweet or savory breakfast. I opted for the kolache, which was delicious. I've also had their icecream before, which you can't go wrong with. But if there's anything you NEED to try from here, it's the chocolate chip cookies! There's some lot parking right in front along with extra garage parking available. Overall, this is such a cute spot to grab a quick bite or dessert. I highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp
+The seasonal pumpkin bread slice ($4.00) was delicious. +The kids enjoyed two chocolate croissants ($11.00). -The s'mores brownie ($4.50) was okay, very sweet.

Yelp
I loooooove their coconut chocolate ice cream which is crazy but I am not a chocolate ice cream fan. I also occasionally enjoy their coffees and also enjoyed their sandwiches once before. Cute place to grab a quick bite/dessert! Pricey but at least service and food is good!

Yelp
Great little ice cream / bakery spot to check out. Fresh warm cookies, pastries, and ice cream. My goto here is usually the milk & cookies ice cream that has cookie chunks in it!

Yelp
This is another hidden gem in the Spring Branch area! I have not been here in about two years. I used to drop by for their desserts, but I finally decided to try their sandwich...specifically their Turkey Croissant. You have the option to make it a lunch combo, with a cookie, chips or fruit. The croissant is house made from the bakery and the turkey is definitely great quality. As a bonus, you get a chocolate chip cookie. The mint lemonade is freshly made and you can actually see the mint soaking in the lemonade. It's seriously refreshing! They also have ice cream that is so divine! Finally, the lemon cake OMG!! Parking is available and the location is a walk up, which is so cute:). The service was good, they had run out of lemon cake slices. However, they sliced a whole cake just for us. They have a small lawn that your kids or pets can play in while enjoying their ice cream. I highly recommend giving them a try...you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Cute little spot with tasty, classic chocolate chip cookies and quick and friendly service. I'll go back for some more cookies and to try a couple of other treats.
google avatar

Amie N.

Yelp
My family and I stopped here after dinner, and I had no idea this location opened up (which is a lot closer to me compared to the Rice Village one). The vibes are equally as cute as the Rice location, with two walk-up windows available. I opted for birthday cake ice cream and got a chocolate chip cookie for later, both of which were great.

Yelp
I love Tiny's! I recently tried the seasonal strawberry matcha drink and it was delicious! The strawberry puree complimented the drink so well and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. It's like drinking a desert. I've also had the pastries like the donut holes, blueberry thyme cake and savory snacks like the sausage biscuit and breakfast tacos from here as well. Everything tastes so fresh with whole ingredients. The service is always good as well and the employees are always pleasant. This is definitely one of my favorite bakeries here in Houston.

Yelp
It's a To-Go lovers dream! Aaaaaahhhh! But on a serious note, this little bakery has perfected the art of sandwiches and salads on the go and has curated a complete and well rounded lunch box for all to enjoy!! I ordered their croissant turkey club with a side of aioli. The croissants are made fresh daily. They have got that classic buttery top with an and a soft flaky inside that when you pull them apart, you can see the steam come out. They basically melt in your mouth. Whoever thought of creating a sandwich out of it was a pure genius! Protect that person at all costs!! Anyway, the lunch box include your choice of chips or fruit, and a freshly baked house-made chocolate chip cookie!!! So they are known for their chocolate chip cookies. They have multiple sections where they lay just their chocolate chip cookies out for those to admire as they wait in line with grumbling stomachs!! I ate the entire box in less than 7 minutes. Literally didn't even realize I ate it so fast! Service: Very nice, informative employees. Helpful to any questions you may have. Bakery: a To-Go style, opening at the front where patrons walk up to order with a delivery window to the side. They do have some outdoor seating but it's strategically designed for those on the go. Parking: Plenty of parking in the front and within the neighboring garage. Has over 300 spaces available because the bakery is connected to several businesses in the front and the back of the building.

Yelp
Super cute late night spot for any dessert craving! They have cookies, ice cream, croissants, scones, & drinks. I didn't try anything other than their chocolate chip cookie, which was a decent and tasty cookie, but was on the smaller side for $3.25 a cookie. I can definitely see myself coming back here when the weather is cooler to grab a dessert and sit in the lawn area that they have with some friends. Service is nice and fast, and they have a couple of parking spots dedicated just for tiny's milk & cookies so we didn't have an issue finding a spot.

Yelp
I love this place! This is my favorite coffee / bakery shop. The service has thankfully always been good. The people at the front have always been friendly. I have never had anything I didn't like. It's the cutest walk up shop. They have the best chocolate chip cookies in town . I always get the lavender honey latte which is made great here. All of their baked goods and ice creams are really good. It's outdoors and they have some outdoor seating .

Yelp
First and last visit. I had this place on my list of "Must try" Houston locations. When I approached no one was waiting. A male worker asked me what I would like and I said I didn't know just yet. He literally turned and walked away. Didn't offer suggestions or ask if I had any questions. I should have also walked away but I didn't want to be sensitive. After a few minutes another female worker asked if I had any questions. I told her it was my first time visiting. She suggested their classic chocolate chip cookie. I purchased this and a few lemon cookies. The cookies were average (not worth $10) Overall, service was average and the pastries were over priced. First and last visit.

Yelp
This is a busy little shop! Delicious treats and coffee. I got the latte and some cookies, breakfast bun, brownie and chocolate croissant. The best were the cookies and what they are known for. The other items were tasty too but the croissant was a little too dry for my liking. The brownie was decadent and had the perfect balance of crispiness on the edges and softness in the middle.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
Yumm!! I can't drive anywhere near this place without stopping in. The classic chocolate chip cookies have that strong of a hold on me! They have many other fantastic items on their menu too: everything croissant, mint lemonade, honey lavender latte, and the list goes on!
google avatar

Bethanne A.

Yelp
I say Maybe because I have not personally been to the business. I was gifted by my Doc and his precious Wife with Chocolate Chip Cookies. I ate three and gave my hubs three to take home. They were good, but not great. I hear they use European butter as any good baker does, but the cookies were thick so I know was added to make them the thick sized cookies. I need to visit to try other cookies for a fair review. I will rewrite my review when I do go.

Yelp
Came here late at night for a sweet treat. I thought the store was in a super cute area with outside seating and a walk up window where you order. I tried a chocolate chip cookie for $3. It was pretty soft and tasted like your standard cookie... though nothing mind blowing. However, it was good enough for me to want to come back if I was ever in the mood for cookies!
google avatar

Kristin J.

Yelp
I am so excited to have discovered more than one location in Houston! This is by far my favorite cookie place. I absolutely love the store front that you can just walk up to an order. This is a must try.

Yelp
I went for a piece of bread and a drink, and ended up with a dozen, two sandwiches, and ice cream! The place is cute, but the memorial location has limited outdoor seating. Love that it has parking! The cashier was super helpful, and I loved her recommendations! The sandwiches were AMAZING, huge portions! Not complaining! Definitely didn't expect that! The bread stays fresh for a week! The ice cream... Fresh strawberry and milk & cookie were spot on! If you're in the area, it's a great quick pick-me-up! They're busy, but the turnaround time was quick!

Yelp
This place is addicting. Buyer beware because this will be your new favorite chocolate chip cookie. It's a walk up counter and bakery. Everyone who works there is always super chipper and nice. They have multiple different baked goods, all are delicious. They have coffee available, as well as ice cream. Both are nice additions. The star of the show is the chocolate chip cookie. This guy is seriously dangerous. Super gooey with a buttery crispy crust and great chocolate that gets just slightly melty if you hold on to it for a while. These things are good at all times, even if you have the mental fortitude to save one for later, it stays great. There's some dedicated parking right up front for the business and the fun backyard vibe that it shares with the other businesses invites you to stay for a bit and just hang.

Yelp
This was my first time and Daniel was just the best!! He was soo helpful in introducing me to what the restaurant had to offer since this was my first time here. I just LOVE outstanding customer service! Love love love it!!!! Since I was introduced to this place as a cookie shop, I decided to try their famous chocolate chip cookie along with a ginger molasses cookie and an almond croissant. If I wasn't trying to count my calories, I would've bout ten of each because they were sooooo good!! Like legit soooooooooo good!!! I've been telling all my friends and family to try them because I was so impressed!
google avatar

Erika A.

Yelp
I love the design of everything! I enjoyed seeing the open display. The cookies were really good. The brownie was way too chocolatey for our taste. The cinnamon roll wasn't that great either.
google avatar

Evelyn L.

Yelp
I love me some chocolate chip cookies from tinys!! I think the cookies are a good size and reasonably priced.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Our daughter-in-law recommended we grab some coffee and desserts here, she'd been before and loved it. I enjoyed a hot cappuccino and a decorated sugar cookie shaped like a togo cup of latte with a donut for the cup's handle, cute cookie but taste waas average, the cappuccino was 5 stars. My wife got an iced drink that she liked.
google avatar

Nicole O.

Yelp
This location is much better to me than the others the first time I tired the original chocolate chip cookie it was hard and crunchy, but this location they were soft and gooey just how I like it ! Also the atmosphere is very nice with lots of seating a great place to go with family ! Also they give out military discounts which is always a plus!
google avatar

Yelp
Great little coffee, tea and cookie place set in Memorial area. Friendly service and great spot for satisfying your sweet tooth cravings. Sitting: limited Parking:limited
google avatar

Jasmeen E.

Yelp
This is literally one of the best chocolate chip cookies in Houston. The cookies are made fresh in the house every day. I've been several times where they were pulling batches of cookies out of the oven. if they were not freshly made within the moment you arrive you can also ask them to warm up any of your dessert items. The customer service is amazing and they are always super sweet, super friendly. It's a walk-up dessert place so it's not much to say about the ambience, but it is very nice every location I've been to looks aesthetically pleasing. I've tried other desserts here and I haven't been disappointed by anything. I love the brownies the brioche buns but the chocolate chip cookie is what keeps me coming over and over again if you have not Tinys you definitely should.
google avatar

Marcelo S.

Yelp
Mmmmm.... Milk and cookies . Yessss. After a hard day of jujitsu training and belt promotion this a great place to put back on the calories. Life is too short not to eat cookies. They had a wide variety of teas and decorated cookies . Plenty of sitting outside although be careful not to wander to the next restaurants as the other businesses had signs and the sitting police might get you.
google avatar

Humairaa A.

Yelp
When it's good, it's real good. Those cookies SMACK. and the lemonade too. My god. Sometimes there are long lines, but it's worth the wait. Parking can be atrocious but there are lots nearby so you'll find a spot. Delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Why did it take me this long to have this?!! Tiny's came through with the taste bud attack and I'm happy it did. This had been on my "to try" list so long I only recently realized I wanted to go. Not a huge dessert person but this is one of the ones I will crave. Let's start with that chocolate chip cookie! Num num num! It was so delicious, soft, gooey, and make you want anothery. I'm happy that I got 2 for me but I could've easily eaten 4. I tasted a few of their ice cream options and they were all pretty nice. The Milk & Cookies and the Fresh Strawberry flavors both stood out to me. Hardest part for me to choose one was based on what with best with my cookie lol so I ended up getting the Milk & Cookies in a waffle cone. It definitely was delicious and a great decision. I saw a few good options in the bakery but as soon as I saw Strawberry Bread my choose was made. Don't think I've had a strawberry bread before but I knew I wanted it. It came with a strawberry cream cheese. I actually got a whole loaf and I'm happy I did but my friend actually had me nervous on the ride home cause I didn't look at it and they joked that it might not have strawberries in it but only in the cream cheese. Thankfully it was strawberries in both and BUSSING! I got the Strawberry Mint Lemonade and it's the only thing that I wouldn't get again when visiting. I think the mint (which I didn't realize was in it) may be what through the lemonade for me. I can't wait to go back and enjoy their treats. The only thing I want to leave this with is that I hope Tiny's brings a location to the North!
google avatar

Tanya C.

Yelp
First, this location is placed in such a cute location! Parking is not the best, but the customer service is awesome and their chocolate chip cookies are so good! The cookies weren't the best but they were decorated well!
google avatar

Brittany B.

Yelp
Yes...they have milk and cookies... but they also have fresh chia seed pudding, sandwiches, Croissants, ice cream, brownies, honey butter things, and more treats than you can shake a stick at. If it's your first time, know that this location is just a walk up window, but there's ample seating and a cute setup where you can lounge along the turf in the sunshine. Their cookies have slightly crispy edges and are gooey in the middle (like a slightly elevated version of those ones you bought in HS), and although they were out I was told they're brownies are fudgey. There not as fudgey as I'd like, but I'm picky :). They're ice cream is nothing to write home about in my opinion. Too boozaesque (too elastic) for my liking, but their service always matches their tasty treats- delightfully sweet. For that alone, they've earned 5 stars from me!
google avatar

Aryani N.

Yelp
I love how they have a big area with faux grass you can chill out have a girl date just vibinn. Chocolate chip cookies are the ultimate safe bet. Staff is super sweet and supportive. The getting here part leads you to a parking lot from I-10 but you basically just follow the arrows and drive through a garage where treebeards is, and viola! Box of cookies are a great gift! Remind them to heat for 10 seconds! Enjoy!
google avatar

Chacque S.

Yelp
best chocolate chip cookie i've ever had hands downnnn!!! the place is so cute and has chairs outside to sit at.
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
Cute little spot. Tried the milk and cookies ice cream. It was reallly delicious! We also got the banana bread and we had it for breakfast the next day, it was also very good, even my son liked it who normally doesn't care for banana bread. Of course the chocolate chip cookies were also good. I wanted to get the vanilla ice cream in a tiny cup but apparently they only sell by a pint. Overall, I recommend trying it out.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
The fresh strawberry ice cream was a clear winner on a hot summer day. My daughter loved it so much that she only gave me a tiny taste and didn't want to share. I've Never seen her do that before. It literally tasted like fresh strawberries in ice cream form. I also ordered cookies and they were good, but they would have been amazing warmed up or if they were fresh out of the oven. They were room temperature. I'm going to come back for ice cream. I'd like to try the other flavors!
google avatar

Marium M.

Yelp
Great warm cookies in the Houston area, they are extremely buttery and just melt in your mouth with the slightest hint of salt to compliment the rest of the cookie. Highly recommend if you're in the area or want some to go. Their seasonal breads are also delicious and moist Tiny's is worth visiting if you haven't already!
google avatar

Cynthia J.

Yelp
Awwww. This place is so cute! Oh so cute. Like a milk and cookie stand run by adults. Smart move from the original Tinys. I'm going to be honest. The only chocolate chip cookie I go gaga for are Levains in New York City. I've never had one better before or after. That being said, I tasted a piece of my sister's and it was good. My sister ordered an oat milk latte I think and I got a hot chocolate with 1% milk. My sister enjoyed her latte and I really enjoyed my hot cocoa. It's hard to mess up hot cocoa but that was a awesome cup of cocoa! They sell lemonade as well as banana bread, breads, cinnamon rolls, and a cookie brownie combo. They have scones as well I think. Cute little place. Service is friendly, pleasant, and quick!
google avatar

Anthea R.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast at 9:30 am, and ordered the breakfast sandwich consisting of prosciutto, arugula, balsamic, goat cheese on a croissant. It also came with fresh fruit or chips (I opted for fresh fruit). Also, came with a chocolate chip biscuit (cookie). Additionally ordered the basil-mint lemonade, latte and a pan du chocolat. The lemonade was very refreshing, and cooled me off in this htown heat. The sandwich flavour was delicious and balanced, latte was standard, but my biggest gripe were the pastries itself. The croissant and pan du chocolat were a soggy, and greasy mess. No flakey texture to showcase the layers of the croissants. They weren't even re-toasted for us. Not what I would expect from a place that solely focuses on baked goods. The chocolate chip biscuit was overtly sweet for me, and very, very crumbly. A little more time in the oven would have been nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Delightful dessert and cozy area. Family and pet friendly . I had the cinnamon roll and it's huge. Can be shared
google avatar

Meredith P.

Yelp
This place was so cute!! I got a lemon poppy seed slice--which was amazing! Obvi I got some chocolate chip cookies, they are great cold or heated up! I had a honey lavender latte. They had every type of milk. The latte was really good, I haven't had one that good in a long time! There was a restaurant that was closed next door but the area was cool. If you don't pull up right next to it you have to go around the business plaza a little. It was a little hard to find initially. There were lots of kids there playing outside on the green space. The seating is all outside, lots of little tables and places to sit. Very cute spot that you could bring your kids and your dog. Planning on going back in the morning for another coffee and trying a new pastry.

Maggie C.

Yelp
Yes. You should go! From their coffee and matcha, to their baked goods, nothing will let you down! Shout out to Priscilla- she is so great and always has a smile on her face!
google avatar

Carol B.

Yelp
Service is always the best. The morning bun is wonderful and the other treats available are delicious. Cute walk up counter with outdoor table and chairs. Delightful area for a light breakfast, cup of coffee, quick lunch, sweet treat, cold beverage, or a scoop or 2 of ice cream. Stop by and see for yourself.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
Love Tiny's Milk & Cookies! Always fresh, always consistent and this location has a really cute vibe with cornhole in front that you can play and a few other restaurants in the same shopping center. Tree beards and texadelphia are next door. I will be back because this location is so much closer to me than rice village!!!
google avatar

Tristan F.

Yelp
I have finally found my go-to sweet treat in the Spring Branch / Memorial area. I went with the classic Milk and Cookies Ice Cream, which had a nice texture to it and delicious chunks of cookie dough. The chocolate cookies almost fall apart in your hands, and the decorated sugar cookies are firm but brittle. I wasn't a huge fan of the plain sugar cookies as they were a little hard for my liking. Regardless, once it cools down I'll be back to have a nice scoop of ice cream on the cute patio area they have.
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
It was my first time to this location and I liked this location due to its accessibility and parking. I got a choc chip cookie and an iced strawberry matcha latte which was their seasonal drink. The drink was so refreshing on a hot day. I finished the drink in no time!! The cookie was soft and gooey as always.
