Tippin's offers a mix of classic and innovative pies with a flaky crust and creamy fillings that keep fans coming back for more despite some mixed reviews.
Tippin’s pies are legendary! I have to buy them from Dierbergs now when I am in saint Louis. So many wonderful flavors. Coconut banana cream, and the no sugar added chocolate pie are all divine. I don’t know who writes bad reviews but certainly not deserved. I’ll post a photo thank you Tippins.

Wow Yuck. Got a Tom Thumb Tippin’s Pecan Pie so sweet I could only eat the crust and I love sweets. So I checked the ingredients and lo and behold-first ingredient is corn syrup. Then pecans then flour. The rest are ingredients at less than 2%. I thought about returning it-it was $15.99. Did the grocery store change the recipe?

We got a blueberry then went back for another one and a cherry. To tell you how good they are, these pies we bought at the discount grocery, in the freezer section, so not even fresh. And they were some of the best pies I've had. The crust was so flaky and beat my homemade crust. The pie fillings were smooth and almost creamy. Not at all gelatinous likes some. Good fruit flavor.

Update 2, an email from Kristi at Tippins thanking me for the information, and asking for my address on 2/8, she was kind enough to offer to send a gift card, which I didn't expect, and didn't ever receive.
Update, contacted Tippins, got nothing but an apology and that the pies must have been past their sell date. I guess they didn’t comprehend that they weren’t, and how would a stale pie turn into a choc pie? So disappointed. Hyvee and Perkins, you’re my next try at FS pies!
Now that I've had two issues with a Tippins French Silk Pie at two different retailers, it has to be a Tippins problem! Bought one at New Years labeled as French Silk sugar free. It was absolutely a chocolate pie, and who knows if it was sugar free, since it was mis-labeled. Bought one yesterday, sell by date was four days away. However, the whipped cream on top was sour tasting, absolutely couldn't have had any sweetener in it either. The French silk had a grainy texture, not smooth. The filling kept falling away from the crust, so you couldn't cut it and dish it up without the crust falling away. I am done risking that much $ on Tippins. My local bakery is a little pricier, but that's our new go to for French Silk!

It is now 8:40 pm and I purchased the apple pie at approx 3pm today , just tried a piece and was the worst smelling pie and tasting pie I had eve eaten. The pie was purchased at wests country mart in Abilene, KS i am taking it back tomorrow to wests. If u tried a piece of this pie with your eyes closed you would not know what this pie was...Tasted terrrible......

We always trust Tippins pies for special occasions. Unfortunately, the chocolate cream pie we purchased for Christmas Eve was awful. It weeped and the crust was a watery and soggy mess. We were so sad to pull it out of the fridge and cut into this after dinner.

In the past week I've tried two different Tippin's Pies. (Lemon Meringue and Apple.) They were both just mediocre at best. This is my first time eating a Tippin's Pie in 5 years (we moved out-of-state), and I am just shocked at how much the taste/quality has gone down. Tippin's used to have some of the best pies I've ever eaten!

French Silk is still the same! Minor cost cutting changes include fewer shavings on top along with less white cream coverage (lattice design now). I'm so glad they didn't compromise where it counts!
