The 12 Best Wineries Near Lake Chelan

"Tipsy Canyon is where you come to escape the upper 90-degree temperatures with a glass of chilled rosé. They have live music on their canyon-like property, which creates a natural amphitheater, meaning every lawn chair has excellent stage and mountain views. But if you really enjoyed your tasting, you might be dancing in the front row instead. Thankfully, Tipsy Canyon also offers overflowing charcuterie boards for the moment you realize it’s dinner time and you forgot to go grocery shopping. Like many of their winemaking peers, they’ll waive your tasting fee with the purchase of a bottle.   " - emily burks, carlo mantuano

Had a wonderful stop here on a brief wine-tasting tour of the hills above Manson. Stunning views with plenty of comfortable outdoor seating. Hosts were friendly and knowledgeable.

Google
By far our favorite winery in the Chelan area. Views are incredible, staff is so kind and knowledgeable, it’s off the beaten path a little bit so we consider it a hidden gem, and their WINE is *chefs kiss*. We’ve been members for several years now too and their club is easy and worth the money. They have a gorgeous outdoor space as well.

Stop googling “best dog-friendly winery lake chelan” because I’ve already found it for you. Mark - the owner - and Ranae were absolutely wonderful. We will be back next summer for sure. Fans for life.

We had a wonderful visit to Tipsy Canyon. The mother and daughter who served us were very sweet and accommodating. Atmosphere is beautiful and wines are great! Even joined the member club! Definitely put this place on your itinerary you won't be disappointed.

Every year I travel to our family home in Lake Chelan for three weeks in the summer. Each year I try and find new places, adventures and hidden gems. This year did not disappoint. I just happened to be driving down Upper Joe Creek Rd to pick up a plant, while driving by I noticed Tipsy Canyon and just knew I wanted to come back out to check it out when I had a little more time. So about a week later I took a friend of mine out there to see what it was all about. I was blown away by the staff, the wines, the atmosphere and the overall experience. While wine tasting the staff let us know that they have live music concerts each week on Thursday’s and they were free to attend. So of course we made plans to come back out. The live music starts at 6 on Thursday and let me tell you this was the place to be. We arrived plenty early to make sure we got a good spot. There was lots of seating but they let you set out blankets and bring low back chairs if you want to bring your own. This is a family friendly event. Each week they showcase a couple of local food vendors and the week I was there (August 10th) were hot dogs and ice cream, oh boy was it a hit. They offer 3 hours of family friendly live music for free on Thursdays throughout the summer. On my second trip back out I brought my brother, sister-in-law, and his family. We all had the best time!! Thank you to the entire staff and entertainers that made me feel like I walked back in time to a place where family, friends and community could all come together for a night of good old fashion fun. I would give Tipsy Canyon Winery a 10/5 if I could. Make time while your in Manson to discover this amazing hidden gem!

We each ordered a 5 flight tasting. The 2022 Viognier is incredible. I think it is my favorite. Dry with many layers of fruit. Also the 2022 Chardonnay - Unoaked is amazing. Refreshing and crisp.

Great wine. Plenty of parking. À la carte charcuterie board, with great options. Free ice water. Board games to play while there. Outdoor seating. The tasting room could have the AC turned up, it was a little hot in there.

The vinery is situated at a beautiful location and is festivals decorated with lights for the holidays. Really liked some of the wines too. Nice place to hangout during the holidays, but can get terribly cold outside despite the outdoor heaters.

Yelp
We LOVE Tipsy Canyon! The wines are some of the best in Lake Chelan, the views are spectacular, there's lots to do, the bites are yummy, and the winemaker and staff and absolutely lovely. I love their Rose - always have a bottle at the winery and then always take some home. We never miss Tipsy Canyon when in Chelan, and I suggest you don't either.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere here. Ordered a bottle of wine and snacked on our picnic. No rush, no pressure- just fun! Enjoy.

Yelp
Our favorite wines in the Chelan valley. Always a great time! Live music events. We were married here!

Yelp
Trying various wineries in area, picked this one at random. Atmosphere is fantastic. Nice, big modern building. Great patios and lawn. Fantastic views that rival photos I've seen in Italy. Friendly staff. Wines have been good. Whites and rose excellent. Haven't tried the reds yet.

Yelp
A friend has visited here a few weeks before and mentioned it was a good spot so when I'm torn we decided to check it out. We're we're greeted right away as if we were friends or had been here before. We had a baby with us and the ladies were soo excited to see him and got us to be out. After some time chatting we started with a tasting of reds (all whites were sold out so they must have been great). We sat on the patio with a beautiful view. Starting with the cab franc we were pleasantly surprised. None of us are typically fans but as we moved to each new wine we continued to be impressed with each and every one. Not one wine was bad. We planned to buy a bottle or two but ended up leaving with 6 and could have easily bought a whole case or more. I can't wait to go back and will certainly leave with several bottles again next time. I just hope we get a chance to try their whites!

Yelp
Where to start? Hubby brought me here because we love wine mixed with a beautiful view. We arrived when they opened hehe and other parties arrived as well. It was a good option because you can choose where to sit: over the gazebo or just outside the shop. You must let them know first by the bar what are you having. This lady was overwhelmed that everybody arrived at yhe same time. I guess she was alone at that time. We all were patient. We sat outside and waited, and waited, and waited until she came outside with next pour of our flight. It wasn't that much of a poor by yhe way. Used yo other flights, this wasn't the best tasting. Maybe next wine? She wasn't courteous. We didn't mind at that moment. We were having a good time with the view. We waited, and waited. Another party's person went inside looking for her. She came outside to pour next wine. I then told her if we could have our next round a little faster (than 25 minutes between each, right?). She started being silent. Just pouring other rounds. Maybe a bit of consideration, smile, and care for your customers would be nice! Wines were not good after tasting other wineries. We didn't purchase any bottle from this place.

Yelp
Great service and incredible view! Everyone was super friendly and attentive! I was super impressed with the wine and bought several bottles! I would recommend this place due to the fact that outdoor seating is fantastic!

Yelp
This continues to be one of our favorite wineries to visit and hang out at. Some of the highlights: The service The wine The view The fire pit The friendships we've made here Thank you Mark, Tammy and crew!

Yelp
One of the newer tasting rooms in Manson, providing a full sensory experience with fantastic wines, friendly service (family run), and outstanding views. The tasting room itself is upscale with plenty of inside and outside seating . Fire places and a soon to be fire pit (it's a cleared area now) add some special ambiance during the chillier times of the year. They even offer a mix of cheeses and deli meats for purchase, and also allow you to bring your own snacks. It's a little bit "up and off" the highway, so make it an early stop in your wine tasting adventures. Plenty of parking just below the tasting room, and some limited parking is available up by the tasting room for those that need it. As with other wineries, Tipsy Canyon has a Wine Club, but also offers other unique plans to make special experiences happen. Share your wine, share your food, share your stories, and make new friends along the way. Just be sure to make it to Tipsy Canyon soon.

Yelp
The wine was pretty great but even more so, the staff was amazing! She was so friendly and offered additional pours on top of our tasting. We sat in the corner on a comfortable couch and pretty view. I look forward to going back there again.

Yelp
If I could I wouldn't put any stars! Here with a big group on Labor Day weekend and we were greeted by the owner saying "....You brought a shot ton of people." while rolling her eyes and walking away. As we waited 10 minutes to get service she proceeded to tell us before we could order "You all have to buy something to be here", while we were ALL waiting to order????! She told me I couldn't get my wine (as I'm a member of the wine club) because I was a few days early but she had already charged my card? You'd think as the owner was present, you'd experience an opposite experience!!!!!! Tami you are the upmost rude, and disrespectful woman, and if you hate your job you should probably retire!!!! (:

Yelp
Great New winery in 4 lakes area of Manson. Huge indoor and outdoor tasting room with beautiful views of Roses lake. Great wine, can buy a little nosh to go with your wine. Mark & Tammy are great hosts. They plan to offer the place as a wedding venue in the future.

Yelp
We were here in Manson for a birthday weekend and contacted them about a wine tasting for 12. Which is quite a large crowd for any winery and they were so accommodating and welcoming! Tami one of the owners met us as soon as we came in and offered us any place we wanted to gather and sit. We were able to bring in snacks and we sat and visited, tasted some amazing wines and just really enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend this winery when you are in the area. When you can choose any winery in this area these guys are hitting it out of the park on both their whites and reds! I'm not a white fan but their rose of Pinot is excellent as is their Viognior.

Yelp
Purchased a Tipsy Canyon wine tasting experience at a WSU fundraiser. We were met at our hotel by a limo and taken to the Tipsy Canyon estate winery. Mark and Lexi were super welcoming to our group. Mark talked with us about his winemaking practices. Lexi poured and served up a hearty lunch outside in their gazebo. Then they took us to two other Cougar wineries; Succession and Rocky Pond. More wonderful wines, a tour of the production facility at Succession and some great info about Washington wines and a beautiful charcuterie platter at Rocky Pond. Such a lovely day for us. Thank you for all of the arrangements, Mark and Lexi! Go Cougs!

Yelp
Lovely tasting room close to downtown Manson (short drive). They're located up on a hill so there's a nice view of the surroundings which includes one of the smaller lakes. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived on a Saturday at 2pm and easily found a spot. The servers are all really friendly and welcoming. Karen was our server and she took the time to chat with us and recommend some other places for us to visit. The wine is great. It's a nice break from the busier and more pretentious tasting rooms in Chelan. I'll probably skip those next time and just hang out at Tipsy Canyon.

Yelp
Very rude staff. Mediocre wine. Good views, but every winery has them. There are much better wineries so I'd recommend not wasting your time here.

Yelp
I'm no wine connoisseur, but wanted to pick up some wine for a few people back home while on vacation at my family's timeshare. Tipsy Canyon is right up the street from our place and opened at a reasonable time to have a tasting. The outside deck area was absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous view of Wapato Lake and the rolling hills across the way. For $10, I tasted 8 different wines with an impressive variety. They were all very good (I prefer a big juicy red) and I ended up purchasing 2 bottles of rose, and the red melange. The owner and his daughter were very personable, and they took the appropriate precautions for COVID. I'd definitely come back here next time I'm in Chelan!

Yelp
If you are going wine tasting in Chelan you have to go here. Their Cab, Merlot, Melange, Viognier, Chardonnay and Rosé are some of the best wines you'll find anywhere. Tami, Mark and Lexi are the best hosts in Chelan. If you are going to go to one winery when in Chelan this is the one. Stop by and thank me later.

Yelp
Reed was the perfect host. All of their wine was delicious! We became wine club members today! Thank you for the amazing experience!
google avatar

Yelp
The view was beautiful. The tasting room and patio were comfortable and welcoming. The person pouring was very nice as well and the wine was OK . I also appreciated that they had safe covid practices in place.

Yelp
We had the most amazing paired dinner at Tipsy Canyon. It was a special anniversary night and Mark and Lexie did an incredible job making it memorable. A beautiful setting, food was incredible and the wine was spectacular! If you are looking for an intimate, incredible setting this is the place

Yelp
Drew was great and had good suggestions on the wine. Loved the Merlot and the Riesling. The tasting room is beautiful and brand new. For the guys, they will have beer soon. The view is incredible. Ample seating outside and inside. There is also a nice area outside with a fire place for this cozy evenings. It was a bit of a walk up a steep hill from the general parking. Will be back!

Liz L.

Yelp
Beautiful venue, gorgeous views, delicious wine! We sat outside in the stunning covered patio enjoying great weather and a pleasant breeze while trying samples of a few wines off the tasting menu. Very relaxing atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Mark the wiener is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Really have true passion for wine and teaching us less sophisticated people about good wine. Great wine, great price. Must visit when in Chelan!!!

Yelp
While I haven't had the luck to visit Tipsy Canyon in person yet, they are doing online orders during the COVID19 crisis that are keeping my work team and myself very happy while we have to stay at home! Tami has been so helpful via email in regards to how to get my orders shipped most efficiently. I was referred to Tipsy Canyon by a friend whose wine taste I trust, and I'm so glad I did. 5 stars!

Yelp
Amazing wine and the best tasting room with a view the valley. The merlot and 2018 Riesling is to die for. Not exactly kid friendly As any noise from children is not welcome. Other than that one of our favorite wineries.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
100% recommend, cute and homey tasting area with indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious wine. The staff were above and beyond nice and friendly. They have concerts and other events like yoga as well. Will be back.

Debbie C.

Yelp
This is a terrific winery, they not only have great tasting wine but they are super friendly and never make you feel rushed to leave. Not even sure when they close because they don't start packing up and turning the lights off. The winery is roomy with lots of areas to sit including a covered patio with heaters. The view is beautiful. They have games spread out on the tables, blankets in the covered area and they are open every day in the winter (super rare). Warning when you go....plan on spending some time there. You won't want to leave.

Alycia N.

Yelp
Unfortunately we just left Tipsy Canyon, as the owner told us they allow kids but they are not kid friendly. My kids were playing and said "look at us, we're the kings of the world!" The owner came running up to us and said "are those your kids? This is a quiet place to relax not a playground they need to keep it down and not run." My husband said "are you serious?" We seriously thought he was joking. His reply "yeah, leave me a bad review if you want." The people next to us (the only other all adult group there) even laughed and said I never heard your kids one time even. Lol Too bad. We are always out at the wineries (have a home here) and love how great all the local wineries usually are. My husband even asked what happened and they said they've had trouble with kids in the past, so they just don't want any kids playing or making noise. Hahaha oooookkkk then. He also told my husband "a lot of people that come here get babysitters and don't bring their kids." Went Nextdoor to Tildio instead and they are awesome!
