Best Irish Bars in Philadelphia | Eater Philly

"Tir Na Nog is a dynamic Irish bar in the heart of Center City. It’s not just a standard spot to drink beer, but a place to try a variety of Tullamore Dew Irish whiskeys (the whiskey sour to the Irish coffee) and take in events like pub quizzes or boozy brunches with Irish breakfast sandwiches and black-and-white puddings." - Annemarie Dooling

Tir na nÓg! The first and chips are delicious. I've also had their Ruben which is also great. I've had an enjoyable experience during a game and on an ordinary weekday night. The kitchen can get a little backed up if there's a large crowd (like during a game) but the food is worth the wait.

Rename the place to “The Nickle ‘n Dime”…. Charging 19 bucks for 10 wings.. fine, that’s listed as such. Then seeing 2 bucks added on for celery and blue cheese when the bill is dropped makes me feel taken…. I know you’re in business to make money.. then staff the joint appropriately. Took forever to get drinks and food out to the table. Other money making ideas? Charge for plates, glassware. Surcharge for utilities, insurance… line item it…

Went to have breakfast and watch the All Ireland final. The waitress was pleasant, but the food and wait time was horrific. The Irish breakfast was not edible. The sausages were gone off and the eggs were like they were cooked last week. On top of it all we got charged for an extra breakfast we didn’t have. Driving out of Philly now and hope we don’t end up with food poisoning.

We were on our way to the Philly Art Museum and stopped by for a quick bite to eat. Little did we know, it would not be quick. Our food took an hour to be placed in front of us, and it was just sliders and Mac and cheese!!! The sliders came burnt and not juicy, and the pasta for the mac was clearly from a box. Might I also add my sliders cheese was not melted. I guess the one thing they’ve got going for them is that we did not have to dish out a fortune for this poor quality as the overall prices were cheap. But be warned that comes at a price. One that may or may not lead to bloated stomaches and nausea. Here are some quotes from my friends: “Tir na nog must be Irish for terrible food” “tir na nog? more like turn around and eat somewhere else” “water tastes like toliet water”

Tir na nOg is a quintessential Irish pub I've enjoyed in various ways: first as a patron, briefly as a barback, and now as a regular customer again. It's an excellent spot for sports fans, with TVs placed throughout the space, ensuring a great view no matter where you sit. The staff are incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming--a big part of why I joined the team at one point. The food is fantastic for its category, with standout dishes like the smash burger, fish tacos, and fish and chips. The bartenders are knowledgeable and approachable, and while my liquor knowledge is limited, their whiskey selection appears extensive and well-curated. I always go for a Guinness here, and they pour a perfect pint every time--it's clear they take pride in keeping their taps and beer lines clean. Conveniently located near Suburban Station, the pub's atmosphere is bright and inviting, with big windows that set it apart from the typical dimly lit pub. The crowd is an interesting mix of European charm and Philly's no-nonsense, down-to-earth vibe, making it a place where everyone feels welcome. The space is also large, with plenty of seating at the bar or tables, making it ideal for groups. If the weather cooperates, the outdoor seating is another great option. Tir na nOg opens early for soccer fans and is lively during big matches. Whether you're a local or visiting Philly, this pub offers an excellent combination of good food, drinks, and a warm sense of community at a fair price. I'll keep returning and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a welcoming and authentic pub experience.

Google
Sweet find, tucked in across from City Hall. Kevin very kindly guided me through several beer choices. My only complaint: the pear and blue cheese salad was too sweet. Walnuts that aren't candied and less sugar in the dressing would help. Glad I came.

Google
It's alright, the food is good but I wouldn't come back for it and it felt expensive for what we had. The menu is small but it does have traditional Irish specialities like Shepard's Pie and Pot Roast. My friend really enjoyed the Sheppard's Pie. I got the chicken sandwich and it was okay, my boyfriend didn't like the chicken tenders at all. Although the whiskey sour was perfect, just like how they make it in Ireland.

Google
WALLET PICKPOCKETED. To all tourists visiting please be ultra careful. I was there with my friend and there were hardly any people at the bar and I’m still in shock as to how my wallet was stolen. Even though the staff did keep the restaurant open till the cops came, they insisted there was no surveillance in the bar. I thought this was very strange. I was visiting from india and whoever did this used my international card within about 20 minutes to withdraw money. Please be extra careful if you are here. I was crying my eyes out the whole time and didn’t feel like the staff other than keep the bar open till the cops came were v helpful.

Yelp
Super busy night ahead of the Club World Cup. Great drinks and service, authentic pub!

Yelp
Good spot to people watch and have a brewski. This place used to get very packed during football games so it may not be your scene if you hate dealing with crowds of people and flagging bartenders down for drinks during peak hours. The reason my friend and I always hit this spot was mainly out of convivence. I haven't had the food here in ages but do recall they are very generous with the salt which is not a plus when most items at a pub are already saturated with sodium. If you are a tourist, I recommend checking it out as the location is very convenient to travel to several areas of the city. I don't have anything against this place per say but I would recommend a stop in for a drink / vibe check and then carry on to your next location. As always people SYOY!!!

Yelp
Tir na nog is a fun Irish sports bar that's perfect for watching a game of soccer or rugby. The bar is super large and great for large parties! Everyone always seems to be enjoying themselves there. I like going for lunch when I'm in the city and wanting a quick drink. Their food has always been very salty. I had the Irish breakfast and I was surprised by how salty the sausage is! Granted, it's sausage and it's typically salty. But then I bit into the eggs and again they were very salty. I had their pub burger for lunch and the meat was overly salted. Who ever made the patty is dehydrated. The fish and chips were really good. I'll stick with ordering those when I go back. For how salty the food is, the servers don't fill the water glasses fast enough. I usually bring my own water with me if I know I'm going to tir na nog. Overall, you go to tir na nog for hanging out with friends to watch a rugby game. I never had a bad time here. We also take people here whenever they're in town bc the vibes are good

Yelp
Basic stuffs yada yada but hey, they gave us free appetizer/beer cards for next time so that rocks. Large space with many different sections of seating. You have the basic bar, then people-watching lounge then on the sides there's separate spots for presentations or sports watching.

Yelp
Decent spot to grab a meal and a drink. Decent vibe inside but it seems more like a sports bar than an Irish pub. Food was overall pretty good, and good price to value as well. Fish and chips had a very large piece of fish which was great. Lots of table seating inside, and a big back room area. Thanks

Yelp
Was visiting Philly to explore the city. Huge bills fan and they happened to be playing and heard this was a Bills bar. SUCH A FUN ATMOSPHERE! Service was great and timely. I can't remember what I ate but had no complaints! Def make a stop here on a Buffalo Bills football game, ironic because it's in Philly!

Yelp
I love Irish pubs and try to stop in whenever I can find an excuse to do so. We ended a long day of seeing sites by stopping in for beers for the adults and soda + fries for the kids. The interior is bright and spacious but very Irish pub-like otherwise. Our waiter was friendly and quick. The food was great - fries especially, which is vital to your pub experience. The beer battered chicken tenders were a family wide hit.

Yelp
Cute atmosphere, good food. Looks like a cute place to watch soccer. Not too expensive :)

Yelp
This is a cool Irish bar/ restaurant! I got the pesto flatbread and it was good. The rest of the table liked their food too. The ambiance is great. Beautiful interior.

Yelp
It's a rainy Saturday morning game day of US vs Netherlands. This place was already crowded with soccer fans. TVs were everywhere so everybody could watch the game. The potatoes were my favorite. Super crunchy but not burnt. Breakfast: I ordered breakfast burrito, which according to the menu had salsa in it. I barely tasted it. It's packed with scrambled eggs and breakfast sausage. I wished it had more salsa. Bloody Mary: my husband loves Bloody Mary. When it was served, it looked like ice tea because there was no garnish at all. However it tasted better than it looked. Our waiter spill some guiness on me a couple of times but he was very apologetic.

Yelp
I've been to a Tir Na Nog location in NYC and was excited to find out that the Buffalo Bills backers bar was located conveniently here on Arch St upon my arrival in Philly! I headed over for the Sunday night game and was thrilled to see that the staff and team here was accommodating Bills fans, even though they typically close at 8pm on Sundays. There was a special game day menu and the full drink menu available as well. The interior is super cozy and the staff is top rate and incredibly attentive. I ordered pinot grigio and nachos, and enjoyed the heck out of both as I sat and watched the game. I am excited to come back during normal open hours and try more of the menu. I'll continue to take in Bills games here amongst my fellow Western NY transplants, and am grateful to have a dedicated spot to do so!

Yelp
Walking through the front door is like walking through a portal into another world. One enters from the concrete jungle of Center City Philadelphia and one steps into a gorgeous Irish Pub with all of the expected details, such as dark wood trimming, a stone fireplace, and plenty of Irish beers and whiskeys on the menu. I usually end up here once or twice a year to celebrate either myself and/or friends who have run Philly races (many of which finish right down the street at the Philadelphia Museum of Art). Came here today for the annual Philly Marathon to celebrate with friends from my running group. We had no idea, but it ended up being an epic sports day. The Philly Marathon, PLUS the opening day of the 2022 World Cup, PLUS the Eagles/Colts game at 1, PLUS the Bills/Browns game at 1. What does the Bills game have to do with anything?! Turns out, despite coming here for years, I had no idea that this place is a nest of Bills fans. It's their home away from home. Buckets of Labatt Blue and blue/red jerseys everywhere; nary a green jersey in sight. Wouldn't be a big deal EXECPT WHEN THEY PLAY AT THE SAME TIME AS THE EAGLES. An employee assured us that the TV closest to us would play the Eagles game, only to have the Eagles game shown on a different tv come game time. Of the dozens of TV's in the place, the Eagles were only shown on about three screens, with the sound dedicated to the Bills. What a lousy experience to watch the Eagles at a hometown bar and to feel like a second class citizen the whole time. The Bills fans were incredible, by the way! Super polite and respectful. And this bar really is great with wonderful decor and a solid drinks and food menu. It might be petty but it's hard to give a full five stars after an experience like today.

Yelp
Great sandwiches had the blackened chicken and BLT, also good fish N chips in a nice pub atmosphere

Yelp
Popped into Tir na nOg for an event and was pleasantly surprised by the whiskey selection. We rented out the space on the back but I found some time to sneak up to the bar to chat with the bar staff about the bottles they had on display. Many of which I had not seen before. Safe to safe I had to at least try a couple. Started with the Rebreast 15 year. Much sweeter can complex than I thought it would be. Later realized it was under the same group that owns Jameson. Later had another single pot whiskey called Writers Block and now Im a huge fan. I'll for sure be back to sample more of their spirits. Food was solid.

Yelp
As a die hard buffalo native through and through I can confidently say there is not a place in Philadelphia that makes me feel more at home. The women are ugly, the men are fat, it reeks of hot wings and broken dreams. Everyone in the place knew the bitter taste of losing and it brought back so many childhood memories. 5 stars, I highly recommend to anyone unfortunate enough to come from basically Canada!

Jeri J.

Yelp
We heard good things about this pub so maybe it was just the night we went but it was full of loud noisy college age kids. Really too busy and crowded to get a sense of things. Service was slow.

James R.

Yelp
Terrible service, it took 15 minutes for us to be seated, which we had to go out of our way to multiple people to get seated. Once we did, another 30 minutes went by until we had to get up and tell someone no one was serving us. Do a better job at staffing.
google avatar

Eddie K.

Yelp
I had their Irish breakfast and it was delicious. I especially liked their sausage. I was going to eat outside but it was to muggy and I enjoyed their indoor air conditioned atmosphere. I also liked that the pub had Samuel Adam's summer ale on tab. My bartender/server was Christen. She was attentive, fun, and exemplary. I am looking forward to coming back again ,

Emileen G.

Yelp
we got here at 11 am and ordered at 11:13 until I had to SAY something we didn't get our food until 11:50 and it was just me and someone else. not a full party. it's ridiculou how long they take to bring out food and our server didn't check on us for those 50 mins as well.

Casie S.

Yelp
The cheesesteak egg rolls used to be the best I've ever tried, and even though they were pricey, they were delicious and filling and the sauces were also incredible. However, we just stopped by this week to have them again, and several things about them changed. It looked like the price increased a bit, but there were only FOUR pieces to an order instead of SIX. On top of that, the overall quality of the egg rolls was worse, and the sauces tasted more bland than before. It felt like a complete downgrade of the item in every respect. Super disheartening since we would take all of our friends and family here occasionally singing their praises about them, but I don't think we'll even be stopping by for them in the future. Also the service was always slow for us, but we usually looked past it because of the good food and drink :(

Nicole M.

Yelp
I don't know if they got new employees, but not a person greeted us at the door for 10 minutes so we sat ourselves and after waiting 25 minutes of sitting and trying to flag a server down to ask for menus, we decided to leave. I've been plenty of times before and have always had at least 2 different servers greet me and ask if im being helped, perhaps it was because of a soccer game, but there were at least 3-4 servers passing by greeting others.

Ethan M.

Yelp
Bills atmosphere is incredible. Bartenders and staff are fun too! Aidan, Sam and Hunter are the ones to hang with. Aidan kicks a** behind the bar and Sam for sure knows her scotch. And if you want a good banter, Hunter is the one to hang with. I will say they are very passionate about their Phillies and Eagles, not matter how good they are...or aren't.

Yelp
Recently had my rehearsal at tir na nog and it was an absolutely phenomenal event, thanks to the wonderful staff! Whitney was wonderful to plan with and was super helpful throughout the entire process. The staff was very friendly and professional and kept the food and drinks flowing for the entirety of the night. The food itself was delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests about the event as a whole. I would definitely recommend tir na nog for any event, or even just to pop in for a drink or a meal, which we have also done many times!

Yelp
Just stopped in for an afternoon cocktail after 5 hours of touring the downtown of Philadelphia. It is nestled by a small street on the side and a Main Street in front. It has a small outside patio area (6-7 tables) with a nice view of the skyline. It is also shaded by the buildings which was really nice. I heartedly recommend the Watermelon Lemonade Summer cocktail, with Tito's vodka, watermelon syrup and fresh lemon juice. Perfect for a 90 degree summer day. Kudos to my server, Lily, who went above and beyond and was a fun conversationalist. Plus, she is a hard-working Midwest girl which is always a plus! :).

Yelp
Excellent attentive service. Decent hot toddy. Absolutely, inexcusably horrid corned beef and cabbage. Extremely fatty and pretty tough thin sliced corned beef from a cheap deli, heated up and drenched in a mustard sauce (it was supposed to be drizzled) and then swimming in greasy garlic oil, a tiny portion of shredded cabbage that obviously came from the bag of pre shredded cabbage for coleslaw, side of good potatoes, but only a hint of the carrots described in the menu. Only the excellent service saved the experience from a 1.

Yelp
Arrived with a large group on a Saturday around 11am and we were given a private room. Really good service and the powers that be allowed is to put our football team's game on the TV in our room (Boomer Sooner!). The fish and chips were the best I've had in years and I LOVE fish and chips! We then moved to the bar and continued hanging out and watching OU win. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Great food. Bartender is easily distracted. Plan on spending some time. Bottomless mimosas are great.

Yelp
This place used to be great for lunch or some drinks and grub during happy hour. They have gone down hill and I will not return. There are so many better restaurants in Center City where the food is much better and you get great service. A friend and I went there for lunch recently and had a terrible experience. I'll mention that they weren't even busy. So there is no excuse for the poor service. After being seated it took over 10 minutes to have a server come to our table. The first thing he said was do you know what you want to order. We hadn't been offered drinks nor had we been given any menus. He then gave us menus and didn't comeback for 15 minutes. We ordered a quesadilla and a Ruben sandwich. We proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for our food to come out. Not once did the server come to our table during this time. Then, when we finished eating we waited another 15 minutes for the server to come back to our table. Our plates were empty and neatly stacked yet he asked if we wanted anything else. We said bring us the check. After about a 10 minute wait I had to get up and ask the hostess to get us our check. So the service was terrible and the food was mediocre. This is not the first time I have had bad service here in recent months and with so many better choices within just a block or two I will not be going back. Plus, I've attended several work happy hours here where we would have around 20-30 people drinking and eating but going forward we will look elsewhere.

Yelp
First, I love Irish pubs even in the heart of America. And, Tir Na Nog in center city Philadelphia has a great welcoming atmosphere that you might find on Grafton Street or in the Temple Bar section of Dublin. But, I have to be honest in the context of this review ... I have been to Tir Na Nog in Philadelphia twice and both were for special occasions related to my hometown of Buffalo New York. I did not sit at a table for a meal ... I did not give the menu a real close perusal (I am definitely planning on doing that after my latest experience.) but I was at this 16th Street location within the heart of a long standing Philadelphia building to spend time with people from the City of Good Neighbors! This latest visit was tied to my football team, the Buffalo Bills, being in the playoffs and it was chosen by the Buffalo Bills Backers of Philadelphia! When I opened the doors all I saw were people of all ages wearing the colors of the Buffalo Bills and wearing smiles on their faces. So, I was in a happy place. But, this review is not about old home days and the joy of being with people who celebrate the special place we all come home. This review is about the way a well run restaurant/pub takes on the challenge of a large and frankly very noisy crown. Tir Na Nog did it with excellence! I did take a glance around this pub and was impressed with the set up. Tir Na Nog is HUGE but intimate. There were plenty of tv's positioned so that our crowd could see the game wherever we were standing ... yes, most were standing. But you go to a pub and what do you want? Some brew! So I squeezed my way up to the edge of the bar and watched this happy hard working barkeep keeping her customers satisfied! I learned later in the day that this was the largest crowd they have had for a football game but what gives them a 5 star rating was their ability to adapt, be positive and take care of the hungry thirsty crowd. They did this with excellence and by keeping a smile on their faces. It wasn't just the young woman working behind the bar but the waiters and waitresses had the more difficult task because they had to wade through the crowd balancing food and drink without making contact with elbows and cheering fans. Believe me I watched them ... they were smiling (Now, I have no doubt it was a very tiring day on the floor but they were always smiling from kickoff until the end of the game.) and not once did I see a single piece of food slip off their trays. Another admission, I didn't eat but I observed, which I realize is not a real way to analyze food but it is what I did. I watched a lot of food pass by my place on the floor and the presentation was superb. The food looked good and the scent of the freshly prepared food (Lots of WINGS) was appealing. The cheeseburger being engulfed by a young man near me had a great looking brioche roll and the comments about the fries indicating that they were fried excellence. My prior experience also was a crowded situation that proved the staff of Tir Na Nog is very capable of a large crowd, which is a good indicator of their ability to care for folks one-on-one. So, take this review for what it's worth ... I plan to get back to sample a meal, which would allow an updated review. I know the Bills Backers of Philly hope that this is their new home for the 2018 season but for those of you looking for a good Irish pub give this Center City location a shot!

Greg M.

Yelp
My favorite Irish pub in the city. Always a blast watching games here. Been here for quick lunches, HH drinks, dinner and Bills games. It is always a blast. Can get extremely crowded and tough to get a drink at the bar. Still worth it. SKO BILLS

Mark S.

Yelp
Solid local tavern with traditional Irish fare. Server was on point in recommending the salmon dish as his favorite. Among the best salmon I have ever tried. Beers were flowing and appetizer was hot and fresh (cheesesteak egg rolls). Definitely a smart choice to stop for a local favorite.

Robert S.

Yelp
Absolutely not a pub anymore. It's a sports bar that serves nachos and plays Taylor Swift. Do not waste your time if you are looking for a traditional pub.

Shawnee L.

Yelp
Love this place but please use a different brand of Ketchup... Something like Hienz, just a suggestion! Workers were amazing and so is the food!
google avatar

Jocelyn Y.

Yelp
vibes are unmatched, the food is great, the people really make you feel at home, i got all great things to say about this place except for the fact that i wish the potatoes had a nice big dollop of heinz ketchup sitting next to it. the ketchup here is a lil too star anise-y idk how to explain it

Donato P.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour chicken tenders, the ketchup was really quite terrible though. If they had Heinz it would be 11/10 but for now, 10/10 will do.
google avatar

Arianna S.

Yelp
Came here to watch the Croatia vs Argentina game. The TV's here are quite small and where we were sat made it hard to see any TV that we ended up watching on my phone. I only give this place a 3 star rating because the food was really good, i'm still thinking about the nachos lol, but the service was very subpar. The waiter definitely forgot about us because we didn't get the check until 35 minutes after we finished eating and we only got it because I asked the busboy to get it. I think this place is understaffed which is unfortunate.
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
This is exactly what I wanted for the Bills Wildcard game, fandemonium! The space was large enough to accommodate and the staff worked their tails off during this event. They were even able to find me among a sea of fans for my food in a reasonable time after I ordered it. I ordered the chicken fingers which I felt is a safe and easy choice. They were just ok, maybe they are better, when leas overrun.

Yelp
Tir Na Nog, despite its voluminous spacing and in-numerous television screens fails to deliver based on its lack-luster services, food quality, and frequent mistakes. Must get: maybe the Irish breakfast? Meh: Roast pork sandwich Missed out: I don't know My wife and I came here for brunch, looking for an authentic Irish brunch experience. While the menu certainly contains the aforementioned items, the only similarity is by name alone. The service started out great, with a friendly waitress describing the menu and drink items, however, that quickly fell apart as each of the beverages requested were later found to be gone (and this was only 11:30am). My wife was all set on the Irish breakfast, containing fried eggs, toast, beans, bangers, and black pudding. I decided to go for a more lunch meal and figured to stay safe with the roast pork sandwich. I will say that having lived in Philly, I've come to have high expectation of the roast pork sandwich, and I will say confidently that Tir Na Nog does NOT do it any justice. The sandwich was served in half, with a very large portion of the sandwich unfilled with any meat or vegetables. The provolone on top of the meat was a thick layer of cool rubber by the time it came to our table; the roast pork was the greatest insult, as it was both dry and also reminded me of a water-blanched protein that's been soaked in the same leftover water from the blanched and tasteless broccolini. Oh yeah, the bread was also mushy on the bottom without any flavor contributions. As for the Irish breakfast, I thought it was subpar with its (what I presume to be canned-)beans, mushy bangers, and generic white toast. There was truly nothing spectacular about this brunch. Finally, the last nail on the coffin was when we were billed for an extra drink that we never ordered and had to wait 15 minutes for the waitress to talk to her manager about the yelp 15% coupon. At the end of the day, unless there is a major overhaul with the management, kitchen, and services, I will recommend other brunch establishment for local Philadelphians. Food: 1 star Service: 1 star Ambiance: 2-3 stars Price: 1 star

Yelp
As a recognized supporters bar for Manchester City soccer, made a reservation to enjoy their game with the family. Upon arrival, confirmed that we were there for the game. Unfortunately, they seated us in a room with all of the rugby supporters watching a nations league game on the opposite side of the restaurant from the soccer action. We could see a tv with soccer, but the speakers were blaring commentary for the RUGBY game. WTF? Fish and chips was more breading than fish. Would have had four drinks if waiter ever bothered to check on us.

Colleen G.

Yelp
My husband and I popped in late yesterday afternoon (Sunday) for some cocktails at the bar. My husband ordered the Tir na nog Old Fashioned (menu selection) and for me a Cosmo with Tito's. These drinks were by far the best we've ever had made at a bar or restaurant. We had seconds and Boom! Slam dunk! Just as perfect as the first round. As we were at the bar I noticed our bartender Kristen was also waiting on every table in the restaurant effortlessly. Kristen is by far the best bartender around (or anywhere) and I look forward to stopping by Tir na nog next time I'm in the city. Thanks Kristen (hope correct spelling) you're the best!

Paul C.

Yelp
Proper Irish bar with friendly staff, great food and an excellent happy hour. Best bet in this area

Falicia T.

Yelp
Your hostess is EXTREMELY RUDE. We're from Buffalo and wanted to check out a Bills backer bar. When we first came in, she barely looked up from her phone when we were trying to ask her questions. The tables were all taken but we simply asked if we could put our name down in case one became available and once again while looking at her phone told us "it was pointless" . The place was fun and the food is good but it's a shame this bar put a bad taste in our mouth when we first got there. I would reconsider who you have as the face of your establishment when people are first greeted. **Edit. I don't want to discredit the fact this bar is awesome to watch Bills games. There were tons of TVs service was quick and they played the Shout song every time the Bills scored which was a fun touch. We weren't expecting to be able to sit with how busy it was but several tables left through out the game and a server was super nice and quick to let us have one. We ordered off the game specials and the food was good but they also had a nice brunch menu that would be worth trying sometime. The bar was packed with Eagles and Bills fans but everyone was friendly and made it feel like home.

Yelp
Came back to give another 5 star review to Frank, who once again was our spectacular bartender. We were drinking Aperol spritzes at the last location and were so bummed to hear that Tia Na Nog had no Aperol =(. The first bar tender turned us down but Frank over heard and pretty much gave us the look of "I got this ladies". Boy did he! A few minutes of anticipation passed and out comes our first ever Campari Spritz! You should have seen the stunned look on our angelic faces when he emerged with 3 ICE COLD&SPARKLING, tawny-colored glasses with perfectly cut orange peels! I think we may have squealed with excitement! Did I even mention he's handsome ;) RUN don't walk to find Frank who puts a happy "tear" in my Na Nog!

Yelp
I get it... It's St. Patty's day and they figure everyone is drunk or going to be, so why not charge more, offer less, and otherwise blame it on the guy in green. Let's start with a $10 cover, which other than entrance to the overcrowd bar, provides nothing. Really, couldn't even fake it by having a band jamming on the stage? Then, let's consider the drink 'specials', which might pass as normal pricing any other day of the year. We can continue with the piss-poor attitudes every staff member offered. Yes, I know its St. Patty's and it sucks that you have to work. That doesn't mean I'm ok with you treating me like trash. Its not like I'm asking for tons of your time when I order bottle beers. Alas. I've been to Tir Na Nog on non-St. Patty's and found it to be an average bar. Rather than write a 3-star review that adds nothing to the reviews already posted, I'll use this review to remind them that poor service is never acceptable, even on an otherwise crazy holiday.

Yelp
Had the best time at this pub. Michael the bartender was awesome!! Great live music too. Watching Game 3 of the WS and cheering my boys in Blue in the most epic game in World Series history!! All 18 innings..... They kept the pub open just for us LA girls until the end. Whole crew was amazing! Can't wait to go back to Philly and have another stout at Tir!! ; )

Yelp
Everything this bar does Fado seems to do just a little bit better, But it's still a great Irish pub to go to. It's a very roomy bar with a great selection. and it's very close to the parkway hotels, so it's the best bar to hit when you have friends visiting on business or for the weekend. Tir Na Nog also serves some pretty good pub food. and For those wondering, Tir Na Nog means The Land Of Eternal Youth in Irish.

Yelp
Seems that service depends on your skin tone? If you're white, they'll serve you and care. Just had an experience where a bartender walked over three times and ignored me, after making eye contact (a bit overweight blonde bartender with long hair) and another bartender came over, made eye contact, and pretended not to hear me (this one was a skinny male with short brown hair) I just left instead. I guess they're concerned more with who they serve rather than making money and serving *all* customers

Yelp
Sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and friendly despite being busy. I ordered the turkey burger, Dogfish Punkin Ale (really great Fall beer and for pumpkin lovers and basic white girls such as myself), and took the bread pudding to go. The timer burger was actually really great. Tender and flavorful. The herb mayo was wonderful. The fries it can with were crispy and hot. Only thing I can complain about was I did ask for my bread pudding to go and the ice cream was put in the same container as the warm bread pudding. Luckily I was staying just a couple of blocks over but had planned to eat it later in the evening. The menu didn't say it came with ice cream - and don't get me wrong, I'm so glad it did because ice cream makes everything better, but it wasn't a good logistical choice. The food came out promptly. Really fun Irish bar, good music, good happy hour spot. Will be back.

Yelp
Went here for a work event. Service was extremely rude and in accommodating even though we had around 20 people. I don't appreciate being treated as such when we are bringing a lot of money into the establishment. I have them 2 stars just because the food is decent (if you like that sort of thing). I would not return.
