Restaurante Tira do Cordel

I had a wonderful dining experience at Tira do Cordel, a restaurant that earned MICHELIN recognition in both 2024 and 2025. It opens at 9:00 PM, and on Saturday there was no wait (although I did make a reservation earlier in the day, in-person). My server, Carolina (Caroline), was attentive, professional, and incredibly helpful. Although yo estuvo hablo español (un poquito), she kindly translated some words into English for me when I wasn’t sure. We also discovered she had walked the Camino herself, and it was special to share pelegrino stories together. I tried the Galician delicacy percebes (goose barnacles) for the first time and learned both the history behind them and the proper way to open them. They were muy deliciosos and the whole experience was muy bien. A unique highlight is that when you choose your entrée, they bring the seafood out in its raw form to show you exactly what you’ll be eating. The portions are muy grande, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ambiance was lovely — I sat in the indoor patio area overlooking the beach, which made the evening even more memorable. Overall, between the setting, the food, and the hospitality, I would definitely come back here again. Muchas gracias, Carolina. En cantado.

We had diner here after watching the sunset at Cape Finisterra. We started with Almejas a la Mariñera and Percebes, followed by a delicious Lubina. To finish, we had Tarta de Manzana, which was also very good.

This place is recommended in Michelin guide and it was the most disappointing experience in our trip to Galicia. Zamburiñas looked not good on the plate and they tasted not fresh. We had to return them to the kitchen (we were not charged for this dish). The fish was ok, but we did not find it so special as in all online reviews and we had a much better experience in other places in Galicia. We did not like the ambience neither, the place was crowded, next to us there was a VERY loud family with small kids that were shouting all the time. Parents started to take them outside to try to calm them down, but pointing them to the windows to entertain the rest of the family. I do not know how this place got recommended by Michelin guide, it is a regular tourist place, very crowded during lunch, with average to poor quality of food. I will not recommend it to any of my friends travelling to Galicia.

I visited Tira do Cordel in August 2021 while visiting Finisterre and after a long morning in the beach. The experience is completely amazing (if you enjoy seafood, as this is their main offering). I ordered “Percebes” which you order per gram and they were simply incredible. Every piece was like having sea-flavor bites. I continued with some “Navajas”, which I really enjoyed and they are SO fresh (they catch them in the beach nearby). Do not forget to use their amazing bread to absorb all the beautiful juices of this amazing dish. I ended the experience with 400-500 grams of “Lubina”, their speciality and recommended by the waiter. I didn’t have dessert as I wanted to keep all the sea flavors while driving back to the hotel 😉

Beautiful meal. The clams and the seabass were brilliant, best we've eaten. 👏🏼 Staff were great, standoffish and cold to start, but admired and respected our terrible Spanish (English speakers). It's key to try and respect the Spanish language here. Do that and you'll be welcomed well. We finished the evening drinking schnapps with our hosts.

Very fresh fish and seafood. Excelent experience, everything very well prepared and really good service.

It is worth noting that the restaurant at "the end of the world" should be considered good enough to be your last meal. We found such a meal. This restaurant is located with a wonderful view of the sea. As you may have guessed the food was fish and more fish. It is good thing because the daily catch of fish and sea food was offered in a plethora of preparations that made choosing hard. The best strategy is to ask the waitstaff to describe the preparations and which fish was the freshest. Although it is way out of the way it is work the ride. We ate lunch in a dining room filled to capacity.
