The most amazing place and people in the area, it’s fun, peaceful, and so much fun! I have done a couple of different sessions with paint, and cannot wait to do more!

My husband and I went for a "throwing experience" and had a good time! Fun date, we got to learn and in about a week we'll have our own piece of artwork!

Excellent pottery shop in downtown Augusta! We enjoyed making our forever trees and plan to make some forever pumpkins soon! When I need unique gifts to give so visiting guests have a little piece of Augusta, this is where I go! Whether it is an Augusta Block porcelain brick, Augusta mug, or a Happy mug…this is the place to go for all your local pottery needs!

Awesome local pottery shop! I have bought many handmade mugs, tumblers, vases and flower pots from here and have never been disappointed with any of them!

Shishir (the owner) is the nicest guy around. He treats you like family. His pottery is out of this world good, and extremely fairly priced. If you want to buy or make your own, go to Tire City. The picture is when they were unloading fresh stoneware from the kiln.

Such a cool place!! The staff is super friendly and very helpful! Totally recommend signing up for a throwing class and bringing friends with you. Love that kids are able to join in on the fun! You can always find handmade gifts that represent the artistry that Augusta has to offer!! Can’t wait to go back!!

My husband and I did a throwing experience this evening and absolutely loved it! Neither of us thought we’d do well, but our instructor was so kind and encouraging! We’d recommend this experience to anyone and everyone!

Yelp
My hands have purpose in that they are meant to hold a pen-fork-coffee mug-lowball glass. That's it. Me creating something else with these hands, nope. And I'm good with that. I appreciate the artists who take brush to canvas and other mediums to create something breathtaking and life giving. And pottery? Oh, that I am envious of. To take a lump of clay and make a bowl or plate or holiday tree. That is a gift. And one place to find this gift is at Tire City Potters. A mainstay and cornerstone of downtown for many years, you cannot fully anticipate what awaits upon your first visit. It is tucked away on the corner of 10th and Ellis Street. If you have any doubts you're in the right place, just look for the giant yellow square on the wall with a robot head and the word "HAPPY" underneath it. Then you're good. Though I am unsure of the number of mugs-etc. I have purchased from here, I will mention the latest one. It is a tea cup that is dual textured. The mix of colors with a smooth and grainy texture alone makes it beautiful. But to hold it and sip your evening tea, that is art coming to life. I am grateful for their presence, their passion, and their continued work downtown. Stop by and visit them soon.

Yelp
I love this place. This is a fun alternative to painting classes. I love making clay things! We've done the forever pumpkins ($45 each) and the forever trees ($65 each) and we had a great time for both. The next one we are going to do is the Easter eggs! Book your event online (https://www.tcpotters.com) it will give you all the dates & times. Usually if it's nice out you will sit under a tent outside the bldg. if it's cold or rainy they will move you to the loft upstairs. You can BYOB. They also do private pottery lessons and sell items they make. I love their pirate mugs!!!

Yelp
I would have to borrow a star to reach the level of disappointment I had with this session. It wasn't a class, or even me being able to press the wheel to learn the optimal potting speed. I got none of that. What I got was an instructor who pretty much allowed me to touch the clay and press in, and she did the rest. Including pressing the pedal to make the wheel go. I learned nothing. I got nothing from this experience. I even asked, "so the next one, I get to do it by myself?" No, that one twenty-minute, "here let me show you," session was all I got for $60. I could pay twice that at Gertrude Herbert and got five sessions, but I was thinking, smaller, more intimate, support the small business, and nope. My level of disappointment is so high, that my feelings are actually hurt by the experience. I will not get to sand, shape, or even apply my own glaze. I did get to pick them out. Oh, and I can come back in two weeks and pick up my cup. Keep the cup and eat this review, Madam. They were super nice and polite. I will never go back, not even to pick up the cup, and sure as Shinola will not recommend this place to anyone, not even a bunch of visiting monks out for a mediocre time on the town.

Yelp
This place was super cute. They were very accommodating for a lesson I booked for me and my girlfriend as an anniversary gift. Normally they only have single lessons for one customer at a time. It's a small place but my girlfriend and I were the only patrons there along with the teacher. Everyone wore masks and washed their hands. The experience was informative but fun and they make it look so easy. I definitely want to go back. And I can't wait to pick up my bowls! I'll update with a photo once I do!

Yelp
I like the stuff they have but I will need to save up for that special occasion purchase. The quality and care in the hand craft looks excellent for sure.

Yelp
5 stars. Great time with Harrison as instructor. We came to make clay "pumpkins" for Halloween. They had them premade, but you got to carve out your own design and paint them. My final product won't be ready for a few days, but the activity was alot of fun. We had a party of about 14 and brought our own beer and snacks, so made an evening of it. The staff was helpful and friendly so will definitely do this again :)

Yelp
Went to a Ladies night out here in October. We all painted and carved our own ceramic pumpkins. It was such a fun and unique night out. The studio is funky and super laid back. We had the large room upstairs to ourselves and were able to bring food and drinks for our group. The employee that helped us was friendly and knowledgeable. She had great tips on carving, painting and sculpting for those of us who added extra clay to our pumpkins. It didn't take long for our pumpkins to be ready for pick up. Tire city also offers great ceramic items for sale. They would make unique and fun gifts for any occasion, or would be a great souvenir of Augusta. Located downtown across from The Bees Knees.

Yelp
Amazing! I called and Sydney took her time to go over all the different options offered. We came in that same day. Sydney was patient and kind throughout the entire process. She was very knowledgeable about everything and was in a very positive mood. Outstanding store with spectacular staff. Keep up the great work!

Yelp
I've gotten several mugs and even a Forever Christmas Tree from here, excellent work and the workshops are fun also. Might as well come create some memories and decor.

Yelp
What a terrific find! Beautiful and functional pieces displayed on shelves with not one "Do Not Touch" sign. Wide range of prices, all very fair. I purchased a tea bowl that was made with complete respect to the tradition. The tea bowl was only $10 and easily could have been priced for twice as much. The owner and artist Shishir Chokshi was incredibly welcoming and was quick to talk about his art and the story of the tire shop turned gallery. Don't miss visiting the "garage" when out for dinner or drinks in the area.

Yelp
Awesome experience and environment. The staff was amazing and really got into the Halloween spirit (they had blood and scary stuff in the restroom, scared the heck outta me). The upstairs pottery room was lacking light but still a good experience. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I have bought many items from this shop. I love just about everything here. The craftsmanship in all the work is just first class. The owner, Shishir Chokshi is a genuinely good guy. He is very friendly and helpful. I am going to keep on coming back whenever I am in the area!

Yelp
This place is so awesome. If you have an appreciation for well crafted and designed art, you should definitely check this place out. Each piece is so unique and different. I have 3 mugs from this place and they make me so HAPPY! ;)

Yelp
This Place is the Bee's Knees! Err, Well, it's across the street from The Bee's Knees! So if your having a bite, you should certainly walk across the way when you're done and check out the hip wares that Shir and the bunch create! They have everything from coffee mugs to plates, bowls, vases, and other things that I don't know what they are! If coffee mugs aren't your bag, they even have hot chocolate mugs and tea mugs as well, just take your pick! Get your stuff before Shir blows-up nationally and you get wait-listed!

Yelp
Great time! They have seasonal projects and you can make them your own. The staff is very helpful.

Yelp
Really impressed by the large thrown pieces by young artist Harrison Hickman. The bird baths are suitable for inside or outside feature art.

Yelp
Fantastic customer service and stunning hand-crafted pieces. A word of warning from personal experience: if you go in for presents for others, you WILL leave with something for yourself. Or three things... Not sure if this was a Small Business Saturday thing, but if you spend $100, you get a t shirt. Highly recommended!

Yelp
My wife just replaced all of our dinnerware with commissioned work from this establishment. We couldn't be more happy. Dinner plates, salad plates, bowls and mugs. Each piece is unique, beautiful, and durable. The shop is full of one of a kind items that are great for gifts or general use around the house. The owner is very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a great potter in the Augusta area, this is your place!

Yelp
Owner is very rude. His work does not make up for his rudeness and unfriendly attitude. And don't even try to stay parked in his lot after visiting his shop unless you want to be yelled at.

Yelp
It is a small shop where potters make their wares. I went into the area where they store items to sell. I have found lower prices at craft fairs on similar pottery. I was disappointed that everything was over $20.00 and that included coffee mugs. The pottery was very nice but I was not going to spend that much. I was hoping that since it was where the pottery was being created that I could find some bargains. If there were items more fairly priced, I would have rated it with more stars.

Kelsey L.

Yelp
Great place! They make the pottery where you can see it and you can watch them make things. Everyone there is super nice and chatty. Defiantly an augusta gem.
