Kate W and I recently visited this Titanic Hotel recently via a Secret Escapes offer, reducing the price by about 60% and including a bottle of wine and breakfast. As mentioned in Kate's review, this wasn't exactly in the location we thought it would be! There are actually about three 'titanic' hotels in the city, so be sure to know which one you're actually heading to. An Uber trip later and we were at the front door.
It's a vast hotel and really nicely decorated. The nautical theme is very subtle, with some beautiful wall decorations and lots of natural light - in the downstairs area at least. Upstairs was a different story, with very dark hallways as rooms flank both sides with only one large window at either end. The room itself was beautiful and felt massive, but again was very dark! Lucky for us, we were treated to some amazing Liverpool weather so could let some sunlight in through the large window. The bathroom was really lovely, with a large stand-alone bath, two sinks, and some lovely peppermint-lavender toiletries.
Service at the hotel was friendly and informative as to where breakfast etc. was in the morning. The only issue we had was wishing to swap the wine in the room from red to white as it took around 45 minutes for anyone to come upstairs despite a couple of phone calls. Everything else was quick, including check in and out, and ordering taxis was done at a simple press of the button.
Breakfast on Saturday morning was included and served in the grand bar/restaurant space. We were offered a 10% discount to use on dinner but decided not to use it so we could explore the rest of the city. We were seated fairly quickly and started eyeing up the breakfast offering - both hot and cold, with a selection of juices on the bar top. The pastries were good, if a bit anemic, but the hot breakfast was much better. There were sausages, bacon, beans, a few types of egg (not for me) and small potato cubes on offer and we definitely had our fill!
All in all a lovely hotel to know about but a little bit too far out of the city for my personal interest.
