Tito’s Bakery - Review - Long Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"TIto’s in downtown calls itself a bakery - and while the baked Mexican goods (like pan dulce) are great, what you’re really here for are the burritos. This breakfast burrito is among the best in LA County, but you really can’t go wrong with any of the fillings. That’s because the house-made flour tortillas are fresh, soft, and an excellent vessel for whatever proteins and vegetables you choose to put inside them (when it’s not breakfast time, we like the buche best). Be warned, though - parking can be tough, and it’s cash only." - Brett Keating

Had 6 tacos and breakfast burrito. Very good for the price, portion is good. Arrived earlier than store hours by mistake but owner was very welcoming and start my order right away. Will return to try out next item on menu. Cash only. Parking street is typical of 4th Street, aka none.

This place has completely gone downhill. The woman working the front was rude, unwelcoming, and acted like we should be grateful just to be there. No smile, no basic respect—just attitude. I brushed it off because I remembered loving the burritos years ago and my family has been loyal customers for a long time. Big mistake. The food was disgusting. The burrito was 90% dry scrambled eggs, barely any potatoes, and just a sad swipe of beans like they were rationing it. My friend literally counted four potato chunks in hers. It was nothing like how it used to be—bland, cheap, and thrown together like they don’t care anymore. On top of that, the place felt dirty and uncomfortable. We allowed ourselves to be treated like trash for food that wasn’t even worth it. If there’s new management, it shows—in the worst way. We’re done. My entire family will no longer support this place. And someone seriously needs to retrain the woman at the front before she ruins what’s left of your business. If she can’t even fake basic decency, she shouldn’t be the face of your restaurant. Do better.

Ordered a breakfast burrito, thing was like 3 lbs. really good food though. There is literally no parking near the restaurant but it’s worth the walk

This has to be one of my favorite businesses in long beach. To start, the staff are always warm and welcome. They treat everyone like family and are always so cheerful. Breakfast + Lunch ALL DAY! I really love that the new owners have their full menu available during opening hours. Not only are they the most economical option for burritos in long beach, I believe they might even be the biggest. (see photos) I was not a fan of the previous management of this place, but I encourage anybody that was discouraged from the previous owners to go back and try it again. I swore off this place until I found that there were new people that really wanted to introduce great value to the community. 5 stars all around!

Google
Massive breakfast burrito that’s flavorful and loaded. Good amount of eggs which was pretty good for the morning.

Google
This is a dive that is much loved by locals. Probably one of the best breakfast burritos in the area, we had the Chorizo sausage breakfast burrito that was an overly generous portion that fed our whole family.

Tito's is a neighborhood restaurant that is popular with locals and visitors alike. The Carne Asada. Cabeza and Al Pastor tacos are awesome! Outdoor seating is available. Tacos are $2.50 each daily. got tacos?

I've been coming to Tito's for years. Absolutely love this hole in the wall on Retro Row. They expanded their menu recently. I usually get the torta de asada (best in town), but I recently tried their breakfast burrito after the hype I saw on Instagram. It definitely lived up to it. Comes with beans, scrambled eggs, salsa, cheese, onions, cilantro, and your choice of protein. I got mine with chorizo and it was absolutely delicious. I called ahead, but service is usually very fast. I treat this place like a grab-and-go since parking is so difficult here. They now have additional seating, so I may have to come back to sit down next time. They also have a chilaquiles breakfast burrito, which looks delicious, but I kept it simple this time around. It's cash only, so make sure to head to the ATM before arriving.

Yelp
That's a damn fine breakfast burrito! Stiff competition for breakfast burritos in this area, but this one definitely rises above. I was skeptical about all the hype, but this burrito delivers. Only $10! What a value! It's larger than a dollar bill in length and width and even half of it filled up an entire glass lock container. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito meat option, and it was very good. There's great spice level in the burrito itself and the spicy salsa is actually spicy. I can tolerate a good amount of spice so I'm always disappointed when the "hot" sauce isn't that hot. The burrito is filled to the brim with eggs, cheese, potatoes, chorizo, onion, cilantro and beans. Sometimes beans and potatoes can be used as a filler to add less eggs and meat, but not here. They are just a little accent and the beans just barely smear the tortilla like a condiment, so they don't overpower the rest of the ingredients and it adds in a wonderful flavor to the overall mix in the burrito. Staff was nice and friendly and there was no line. I hope to come back and try the ceviche, tortas, and some of the other menu items.

Yelp
These are the best breakfast burritos in LBC!! I'm dead serious! These burritos are HUGE for the price you pay!! They're packed full of eggs, potstoes, and beans. I probably could have used a little more chorizo in my burrito, but I'm not complaining because it truly is so good! I got my coworker the shredded beef one and she agreed, SO GOOD! Yes, the parking is not great. But it's totally worth it. Look how massive this thing is even after I took like 4 bites! Just an fyi, they only accept cash, cash app, or Zelle.
google avatar

Teira R.

Yelp
Unfortunately I was highly unimpressed with my breakfast burrito from here. The chorizo was very mild with not much flavor and the rest of the burrito had no flavor. It was left up to the salsa to add flavor. I'm not writing this place completely off. I will return and try something else at a later date and update my review then. However, a plus is that the burritos are HUGE! (see pic)

Yelp
Tito's had been a staple in Long Beach for the past 7-8 years for my best friend and I, but I really am disappointed in the taste of the burrito since they changed owners. Tito's breakfast burritos were immaculate and there was nowhere else in Long Beach that had such a well-rounded and tasty breakfast burrito. When it went from Tito's Bakery (when they had the concha's) to now Tito's Restaurant is when it went downhill. Most recently I called ahead to order 3 breakfast burritos for my family and I, and everyone agreed that they weren't that great. I had already noticed in previous orders that they didn't compare to the earlier days before they changed owners, but this last time was a clear indicator of how much they've gone downhill. I had the bacon breakfast burrito and my partner had the sausage breakfast burrito, and not only are the breakfast burritos just less flavorful in general, they also barely have ANY meat inside. Before.... it wasn't like that. I remember 7-8 years ago when Tito's Bakery had $5.75 burritos. They are now at $10 each & they taste not even close to how they used to. The red salsa is also different. Sadly, I think it's time that I search for other options because it's disappointing. Not at all the same.

Yelp
My previous reviews are not appearing under the Tito's page. They had always been five star. I had just noticed the wet burrito on their illustrated menu. It looked delIcious and it was. I recentry enjoyed a bowl of their takeout cerviche. I thought that I was not a cerviche person but this changed my mind.
google avatar

Tony T.

Yelp
This place is so low key. It's cash only, but their burritos were super filling. It also had great flavors, you can definitely share a burrito between two people. Their salsa was also good! Definitely a great try.
google avatar

Neisha S.

Yelp
Very small place. There's nowhere to sit inside. The employees are pleasantly nice and the pricing is reasonable. I was nearby in the area and looking for breakfast food, and it seemed that their chorizo burritos are the talk of the town. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito for my other half and he said it was phenomenal. The parking sucks around here. If you're from the area then you know how Long Beach parking is you may just have to take chances hop out park illegally and order your food.

Yelp
Came on a Friday afternoon. Found 30 min parking out front. Greeted by friendly staff who allowed me time to look over their pretty simple menu. ORDERED: + pollo burrito ($10.50) -- 9/10 some pieces of pollo meat in the burrito gave beefy jerky texture vibes, but other than that it had really good flavor. + bean and cheese burrito ($9.25) -- 10/10 "it was delicious" is what I was told. + iced tea Ran $22 dollars with tip! OVERALL: Prices are reasonable for the portion size. I would like to see consistency in the cooking of their meat. Lastly, I would return again if I were in the area and try other menu items.

Yelp
Tito's is my go-to breakfast burrito spot. They put all the good stuff inside; chorizo, eggs, beans, potatoes, cheese, onions, cilantro, and salsa, all wrapped in a warm tortilla the size of a pizza pan. They also have sausage and other breakfast meats, but chorizo & eggs is the bomb. Really friendly people and quick service round out the five star experience. Next time you're a little hung over stop at Tito's for a burrito and the world will right itself pretty fast.

Amanda H.

Yelp
The breakfast burrito is large enough to split but you won't want to bc it's so good. Loaded with eggs, potatoes, and meat of your choice (I got sausage) and served with a red and green salsa. THE BEST!

Arianna K.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and the food is amazing!!! Great prices! I'm from Colorado and this was one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had!!! will definitely be back next time I'm in town!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a local spot and when you want Tito's then you go get it. Are they the best? Yes when you want Tito's. There are better? Yes, but every time I am in the area I make a stop. I always get the beef and bean burrito, as I really like this. Tacos are good too.

John S.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast burritos huge and only $10! I love that they put beans in it. Chilaquiles, again superb. Eat here

Yelp
At this unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurant, you'll discover a hidden gem that serves outstanding breakfast burrito. The staff are not only nice and friendly but also efficient. I had the machaca burrito packed with eggs, beans, potatoes, grilled bell peppers, onions, and shredded beef. Not only is it delicious, but it's also massive! And the best part? It's only $10! The red salsa adds a nice kick, but be prepared parking can be difficult.

Yelp
After living in Long Beach for over 10 years (and just about a mile from Tito's), I finally decided to give it a try. Not only have I seen this place on social media for years but friends even shared how delicious their breakfast was... and they were right. The breakfast burrito was the size of a small baby and it was packed full of flavorful ingredients. Not only was the burrito big but it was affordable. $10 for the big burrito and homemade salsa! The employees were very nice and gave a breakdown of the breakfast items served. They shared the most popular items and gave recommendations. The added space is also very nice and comfortable to eat in. The weather was colder so the patio area was as comfortable as the chairs inside. Highly recommend and don't sleep on this place like I did!

Yelp
The best breakfast burrito I have ever had. Tito's Restaurant was once a bakery; in fact, their sign still has a concha on it. They do not sell bakery items anymore, as of 2020. I was ready to be mad, because I expected a bakery and wanted a concha. But, the burrito was so good that I could not feel any emotions aside from pure joy. For $10, Tito's will make you a burrito the size of your forearm, that will keep you full all day. An XXL grilled tortilla is stuffed to the brim with soft scrambled eggs, seasoned refried beans, fried potatoes, and cheese. I got it with no meat, but you can add your choice of meat as well. They give you red and green salsas on the side, both of which were exceptional. Every bite was flavorful and fresh. This is primarily a takeaway joint, but they do have a few tables outside for seating. The young girl working was genuinely sweet. They serve breakfast until 11am daily, so wake up early and get there on time. Cash only!

Yelp
We were just leaving Long Beach - on our way to the airport - and needed a quick breakfast. We both had a breakfast burrito and they were AMAZING! First off I was surprised when I grabbed the take-out bag. I wasn't expecting an Olympic weightlifting challenge. These burritos are hefty! I had the bacon and my partner had the shredded beef - and they were both delicious. A complete meal in a wrapper. Everything inside was spot on (eggs, beans, potatoes, cilantro, some jalapeño bits), extra points for getting the eggs just right. Even though we were in a hurry, we sat down and dug right in. Both green and red salsas were tasty. We ate half right there, and the other half somewhere over Colorado (they did not suffer from the extreme take-out distance.) Super friendly service, you can tell they love what they do and they take a lot of pride in what they serve up. So a feel good interaction is the third salsa that makes the whole thing even that much better. We'd go back tomorrow but we live a couple thousand miles away.

Daniel H.

Yelp
Not sure how places like this survive in such a competitive market. Chilaqueles were bland and terrible. Egg was overcooked and dry, sauce was mediocre, beans were dry and pasty. The carne asada burrito was the worst of it. Bland and the lowest quality meat you could possibly find. Not even sure what cut it is. Definitely not skirt steak or flank. Again with the pasty beans, no cheese, dry rice. I just wish restaurants like this was a thing of the past.

Yelp
Best breakfast burritos ever. So delicious and big. You can maybe share if not super hungry
google avatar

Bryan T.

Yelp
First time here and I really wanted to like this place after hearing they have the best breakfast burritos in LB. Parking here is hard as it's only street parking and they don't have indoor dining yet. I decided to get the ham breakfast burrito and it was good at first but then I started tasting something spoiled. It was off putting and I couldn't finish the burrito. Maybe I came on the wrong day.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
We had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. It's really large. Next time we will split one. Recommend. Will be ordering again.
google avatar

Marjoje S.

Yelp
I called it in as a pick up. They had it ready in less than 10 minutes! Parking can be tough but I want early in the morning. It's cash only so be sure to bring cash and tip them. It's worth the hype. It's so yummy I'm filling.
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Would make the drive, wife enjoyed her meatless burrito with avocado and cheese, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely our new breakfast burrito spot.

Jacquelin R.

Yelp
This is the 2nd time trying this burrito and when I tell you how delicious and fresh this is such a great and good burrito. The salsa is also really tasty and spicy. The people are so nice as well.

Yelp
First time to Tito's in 4th & Cerritos. Yummy yummy in my tummy! Amazing food! Asada burritos bomb! Thank you!
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Solid breakfast burrito at a great price point! Stopped by for a quick lunch today and picked up a breakfast burrito with chorizo. I opted to have mine made without beans. The burrito has a lot of egg in it (which I am totally for) and definitely is a hit! The chorizo was plentiful as well, and overall a great fresh tasting breakfast burrito. The size is huge as well, and definitely a very large meal (I would say I eat a good amount especially while hungry, and I could only eat 80-90% of it). The price is great as well (I think it's cash only btw)! Finally, don't forget to ask for the green salsa! The burrito is not dry by any means, but I definitely think it enhanced the flavor. Will definitely be coming back to try more on the menu, I'm a fan-

Yelp
Since moving to Long Beach about a decade ago, I have been meaning to visit Tito's for a breakfast burrito. They even closed down and then triumphantly opened up again (granted, with some changes). Parking is the absolute worst, especially on weekends. I definitely recommend being prepared to do some walking. Also there are like two little metal tables immediately outside their storefront, so I would recommend being prepared to take your burrito on a walk with you as well. When my husband and I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy but still seemed crowded. The girl working the register was friendly and our order didn't take too long to come out. I ordered the shredded beef breakfast burrito, my husband ordered ham. Both came con todo, so besides the meat there were beans, eggs, potatoes (which were meh but definitely added substance), hot sauce, cilantro, and onions. Gravity pulled all the flavor and good stuff to the bottom, so it got better as we went through we both lamented that we should have gotten chorizo and added bacon. Also we could have easily shared -- for $10, you get a solid brick of a burrito. Mine has lasted two meals and I have a solid appetite. Cash only, though they do also take Venmo and Zelle. TLDR: Big burrito, big gravitational pull. Gets better as you keep eating it. Just don't forget to stop, because it's so big and you still have to walk all the way back.

Yelp
First time in Long Beach, but this little storefront is making crazy delicious breakfast burritos. Not only was this thing massive (definitely enough for two people). We got chorizo and bacon, which was fantastic. Salsas on the side were bright and cut through the rich burrito. Extremely well-seasoned packing a flavor punch. The man behind the grill was bright and extremely pleasant. Definitely will be back whenever I get a breakfast burrito craving...
google avatar

Frank E.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Long Beach this morning dropping off our family dog to be spayed. So we said let's look for a place to get a breakfast burrito, so we found Tito's. We got a Ham and Bacon burrito with no beans and cut it in half. It was really good, half was enough.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
Not often to I say WOW! and WHOA! when I purchase a breakfast that surpasses all of my expectations. The restaurant is unassuming and I almost passed by without a second glance. I may take it go next time as there really isn't any comfortable seating to enjoy the amazing food. On a whim I had stopped to check out their wares and wasn't disappointed. The burrito was very delicious and HUGE! to say the least. I can't wait to return and check out their other dishes in the menu. If you're in the area it's a must try as you won't be disappointed. Kudos to the kitchen staff!!!
google avatar

J T.

Yelp
These are some big ass, bomb burritos! I had a hangover and was hungry and decided to finally try the hype of their breakfast burritos. Grabbed a carne asada BB with the works for myself and a chorizo BB for the homie. Really tasty and fresh! We both couldn't finish our burritos plus the salsas they have compliment really well. Must try if you're in da LB!
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
The food and service are amazing! I love the casual/social atmosphere ! The owner is SO friendly and helpful!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Great food. Good price. Awesome service I got a breakfast burrito. Portions generous. Sweet deal
google avatar

Antoinette G.

Yelp
Regrettably, I ordered a chorizo burrito with no beans, opting for added potatoes. Despite them including light beans (which wasn't a big issue), the disappointment was the eggs dominating the burrito with just little to no chorizo. The eggs were overcooked and lacked flavor, making for a less-than-satisfactory breakfast experience. Given the choice, I wish I had opted for Jerry's down the street. After that owner response I won't be returning to this place.
google avatar

Justice R.

Yelp
I asked the cook for a recommendation an he said the supreme burrito. I got pork in mine it came with rice beans guacamole an sour cream. First time in LA an I can definitely say it was 7/10 burrito wise.
google avatar

Yelp
wow oh wow . . . Standing ovation for Tito's I recently came across their instagram account & seen a video of the Breakfast Burrito, me & husband jaws dropped to the floor, grab the keys & got in the car! As we walked in we were greeted by the most helpful & thoughtful people, very welcoming! We placed our order & lemme tell you the service is super fast! We got two chorizo burritos, once we got our order we drove 15 about mins to our favorite view & our burritos were still hot! As soon I took my first bite I felt like I was levitating, the potatoes were so soft, cooked to perfection. The egg with chorizo so delicious with the right amount of chorizo, and THE BEANS ! Oh my best beans I've had ever they just melt in your mouth & brings the entire everything together. We will definitely be back to try ever item on the menu
google avatar

Andi R.

Yelp
A hidden gem in the city of Long Beach! If you are craving Mexican food this is the spot that will hit the spot! (Hehehe)... The staff is super nice and friendly. The food is delicious and made to order. The restaurant has an additional area where they sell boba tea! Prices are reasonable and the food quantities are more than generous. Love this place! Come try it!
google avatar

Tommy H.

Yelp
So good! Love the super torta! Chipotle chicken burrito is also bomb! Everything here is good!
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Came here for the breakfast burrito. Decent breakfast burrito. They rave about their beans on their breakfast burrito which usually isn't something I would get, but I will try it out. Their beans were good and authentic. But did it belong on this breakfast burrito? Probably not. They got good beans and they should use these beans for a different breakfast/lunch dish but I don't think they go with the breakfast burrito. To me it just felt like I was eating a bean burrito with egg. Another thing is no cheese?!?! They add potato but cubed and not shredded hash browns, it's just a different texture than your traditional hash. For a flat 10 bucks this is still an amazing breakfast burrito for the price. But next time I would add cheese and X the beans. Side note; really good salsa.

Yelp
I heard about this place with one of the top burrito spots in Long Beach, especially their breakfast burrito. Here's my experience AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking is busy and usually occupied by residents so good luck. Seating: Outside seating with about 4 tables for pairs or groups of 4. Feels: It's located moreover in the less touristy side of 4th Street but the popular 4th Street nonetheless. It's a pretty busy area as parking is occupied by local residents or customers of local restaurants. I was welcomed by the sounds of the kitchen, smells of cooked meat and spices, and classic Mexican music. The design is simple with Mexican art decor here and there. If you're lucky enough you can hang out but moreover, people love it as a grab-and-go. FOOD: Breakfast Burrito (Recommend) Served hot! A very fulfilling bite. Dominated with egg, refried beans, and potatoes complimented very well with your choice of meat. I chose bacon and chorizo. The meats were pretty seasoned and the fresh onions and cilantro brought a good kick to it. Add your also to it (mild or hot) and you're golden. I can see why people say it's the best breakfast burrito in Long Beach. The portion was pretty huge so this is definitely good if you're in for a hearty tarty bite especially for $11~. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great service! Solid delivery and friendly people. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. I dig it. Great selections, reasonable price, and the food was delicious. I know there are hundreds of Mexican spots in Long Beach but this place holds it down. If you're in Long Beach and in this area, do give this place a try. They also have desserts and mariscos so I do hope to try those next time I'm here. TIPS: * Read about it from the locals - https://lbpost.com/hi-lo/food/long-beach-breakfast-burrito-crawl * They do Venmo now!

Yelp
This place was amazing...they make you feel like family. The chef made these amazing lettuce wrapped tacos and shaped the lettuce exactly like a taco shell!!! Did not break and held my meat until the very last bite!! 10/10 recommend!

I used to go to this place 3x+ a week before moving up to LA, ow WHENEVER I'm back down in Love Beach, I always make a quick stop to the most amazing hidden gem in LA!!!

Yelp
Tito's is exactly the kind of place we love to support, a family-owned local restaurant that seems to care about one thing and one thing only: making their customers happy. Their breakfast burrito is a great example of Tito's commitment to that standard. It's packed with fresh ingredients and great flavor, and at $9, is a value that many of the leading contenders can't touch (we've had smaller burritos that are less flavorful for $12 or even $15). The Bacon and the Chorizo BB are both outstanding, and be sure to give the green salsa a try. We ordered a third burrito with fried eggs just for fun, and that was delicious also. Not our first time, and certainly not our last!

Yelp
Cash or online payment only. Parking is street and it's terrible in this area. Streets are 2 ways but should be 1 way. Great food. Also a boba shop too. Seating is primarily outdoor unless the adjacent boba cafe is open. This place is delicious. I like the tortilla. Burritos are huge. Meat is great. Can be somewhat spicy but that's something to expect. Nothing overbearing. Great green sauce. There are specials sometimes. My favorite is the al pastor burrito. My husband gets the bean and cheese burrito. Prices are great for the portion size.

Yelp
Finally tried this place this past weekend. It did not disappoint! The breakfast burrito hit the spot. The chef/cook was interactive with the customers paying at the counter. It gave me family owned business vibes (not sure if it is or not) but we must protect and support gems like these! Trust that it won't be my last time here! See ya soon!

Yelp
Wow! The green chilaquiles burrito was to die for! Great taste, loved the flavor of the chilaquiles mix with the eggs. By far the best breakfast burritos on the LBC! Staff is friendly and welcoming as always! Worth my drive! Highly recommended.
