Tixtli by Nixta

Same great food as Oro by Nixta. Much smaller wait time. Birria tacos and quesadilla were on point. Salsas for the toastadas were excellent. Reasonably priced. Service was a little slow when I went but might just be because they were just opening up. Located on the second floor of the food hall. Parking can be a nightmare, especially on game days at the Target Field.

I love Oro, Nixta's restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis, so when we decided to grab a quick dinner in the newly reconfigured Graze food hall, now managed by the Travail folks, getting food from Tixtli seemed like a no-brainer. I ordered the quesabirria tacos, the pork belly taco, and a taco called the gobernador. The quesabirria tacos were great, complete with consomme, pickled veggies, and a nice salsa. Yum! The pork belly taco was also very good, with its pico de pina, avocado, and fresh cilantro toppings. The hit of the group for me was the gobernador taco. It was filled with lovely perfectly cooked shrimp and topped with quesillo, sofrito, onion, and chipotle mayo. Man, was this good!! The tacos were only $7 each, and were worth it! They do an agua del dia, and they had passion fruit that evening. Although a bit sweet for my taste, it was still refreshing and tasty. They clearly make food there, because one of the cooks was peeling winter squash for the calabasa taco. I will have that veggie option next time. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the service was fast. If you want a delicious and quick dinner, I highly recommend this place.

Ordered the pork belly taco. I liked that they didn't give you just onions and cilantro. The Guac was a little too much for me in terms of the amount added, but the pork belly was very tender, flavorful, a bit warm-cold to the bite, but overall, a nice experience!

Excellent food, on par in quality with the main restaurant. The lengua tacos are great, and hit a great balance of texture, beef flavor, and juiciness. This is some of the best lengua that you can get anywhere. The shrimp tacos are very good. I’m fond of the play between the red onions, green peppers, and chipotle mayo. The shrimp is also excellently cooked: it has a nice springy texture and is well seasoned. And shout out to George who provided excellent service!

Solid, albeit expensive, tacos. We tried all four: lengua, carnitas, shrimp, and sweet potato. Lengua and camote were our favorites. Honestly, the tortillas might be the star.

Wanted to check out Nixta but at less damage to finances (I am sure restaurant is worth it, I just can’t afford it). -It was excellent. Had shrimp ceviche and taco. I will be back to try their vegetarian taco. Nice food experience.

Absolutely amazing tacos. Loved the corn flavor of the tortillas. Perfect blend of flavors. Que rico!

Came as part of 11,000+ mile foodie road trip. Mixed feelings here. Lengua beef tongue taco with salsa de Chile arbol and onion. I've had way more quality and fresh ingredients for tacos on this trip than a $7 per taco price point. 3 for 12 deals, etc. the Lengua itself was cooked nicely but the accompanying ingredients didn't bring much more to it. For that price point it should deliver way more flavor in my opinion
