Where to Find Non-Chain Drive-Thru Food in Nashville | Eater Nashville
"The cash only, drive thru only spot near TSU is best known for its cornmeal-battered whiting sandwiches and catfish sandwiches that come loaded with pickles, onions, mustard and hot sauce. Other meat options include pulled pork, wings, and ribs plus sides like fried okra and spaghetti. For dessert? Just one choice here — a solid Southern standard — peach cobbler." - Delia Jo Ramsey
I had ordered a fish sandwich and fries. The fries were good, the fish was hard and very crunchy with no meal on one side of the fish. I tried to call to tell them I wanted a refund. They did not answer the phone. I had to driver back out there from East Nashville. They said I ate to much of the sandwich; I brought back the three pieces of the fish the ends were missing. He refused to give me back anything or resolve the issue. The lady at the window laughing. Never will I come back. How could he even see to cook with the lights off. I brought back three pieces of the fish only the end were off. I don't complain been there before never had it like this. For $17.00 that you're telling me we not doing this? Really? Not trying to resolve. I did not argue just kept moving. Will not be back is what I told him. Never spoke to his daughter other than wanting a refund 🙄 never brought anything back until yesterday. Never said you must be new! I been to your restaurant before just telling you about a bad experience on yesterday. Last time I got a sandwich it was delicious and meaty fried great; and even add cold slaw on the sandwich. This time I was told I need to buy a plate and get two sides with 3 pieces of fish could not put on my sandwich. Which I replied I can't eat that much. Really I am over this it was a Lesson Learn and my Loss! As I said to you be bless! I am to old to be stressing ain't nothing but a sandwich! 🤣🤗 always two options and I don't have to lie about a sandwich. With crumbs on my face as you daughter said yes I had a taste of the ends nothing more! Thank for responding to my comment! I responded back!

This was my first time getting food from TJ's and I have to say I enjoyed everything that I got. I got the two piece catfish plate with mac and cheese and turnip greens. The mac and cheese had the right amount of gooeyness and the greens were so good. The catfish was the first thing gone from my plate. I didn't go in and order as a friend of mine picked up the food. But I love that it's close to home and work.

Visiting from Chicago and was told to come here for the best fish sandwich. I was not told wrong! Everything was delicious and fresh. The guy who rang us up was extremely friendly and patient! Going back before we head back home!

The food is really hot and delicious. I feel like the price could be cheaper, but other than that, it’s good.”

I've been living in Nashville for 1 year now, seeing the place, but never stopped until 3 weeks ago. Now it's my favorite go-to place for Soul food. Ribs ,chicken, fish sandwiches, fries, even peach cobbler .

Hadn’t been here in awhile so stopped when I saw that they were open. Absolutely horrible. I’m so mad I just spent nearly 40 dollars for two plates and the fish is over cooked, the whiting isn’t whiting but catfish on one plate and the sides (macaroni, spaghetti and green beans) overcooked and over seasoned. Literally just wasted money because nothing is edible. Wish I could get my money back to get something from another spot because this was a waste of money.

This is the best fish sandwich in Nashville. The fish sandwich is like you would make at home served on light bread. The classic sandwich comes with mustard pickle onion and hot sauce. This is carry-out only so pull into the parking lot and eat while hot.

It was just ok. Nashvillians overhype everything....I swear. There is really no real good food here unless u go to one of the more upscale restaurants and thats still a hit and miss.. i spent 60 bucks here just to taste the hype.... fish sandwich was just ok. Not really any taste.. fried chicken wings were bland and dark almost burnt with feathers on all 3 wings.. Ribs were good with the sauce but more like oven ribs then smoked ribs, not so good without the sauce. Pretty greasy.. Mac needed pepper and more seasoning. It was just ok. Best thing was the bbq sauce. Fries were a tad bit undercooked. Will I be back... maybe for a greasy oven rib sandwich... with extra bbq sauce....
