We arrived in Colorado Springs after a long plane ride, and we're tired and hungry. We had about 4 hours to check in, and my kid searched for a place to eat. This place came up so we thought we would try it. Being from a different state, we just searched Google, and we were not disappointed. First the smells upon entering made my stomach growl from hunger, that it was unreal. Great customer service, the lady at the counter took her time explaining the different options to my son, the freshest tastes that we still are talking about and the burrito my son got was as big as his hand!! He got the deep fried ice cream and took a picture to send to his friend, and they were so amazed. We do not have anything like this back home in Washington State. Thank you for the best experience!!

Good food, fair prices, friendly staff.

Google
Wow! How did I live in Colorado Springs this many years and not know about this place? Looking for a "hole in the wall" non-chain Mexican restaurant?? This is it! Wow! Great choices, very authentic, super fast, & very friendly service! My two youngest sons ordered the breakfast burrito and it was huge and the eggs were actually not overcooked like a lot of places do! My husband ordered a big burrito and he loved it! I got the chicken fajitas and they were so tasty! We will definitely be back!

Google
I ordered the carne asada and it was delicious. The portion was quite large. Definitely enough for leftovers. The flour tortillas are hand made. They cost $1.50 for extras but so worth it.

Google
I enjoyed my cheese enchiladas and beans and rice. The fries and burger were good. My main complaint is the tamale. It wasn't fresh and seemed like it was sitting in a some sort heating element for a looonnggg time. I'm sure their fresh tamales are much better.

We’ve been meaning to go here for a while and finally found ourselves on the right side of town to stop by. You kind of have to look for the shop since it’s set back from the street a little. It wasn’t busy when we went so there was plenty of parking but lot might fill up on a Friday or Saturday night. 1. The staff was all super friendly and food came out really fast 2. This might be the best Birria in CO springs. I literally hadn’t eaten all day so I ordered some and then ordered more. 3. Outstanding menu full of deliciousness 4. Fun tablecloths! Literally the only “bad” thing was my clothes and hair smelled like Birria/other spices when I got home and I wasn’t planning to wash my hair that day 😂

Google
Fantastic breakfast burritos. Everything made fresh and delicious. The area could use some cleaning and refining, but the service and quality of the food makes up for it.

Google
This place is amazing! We got the Birria tacos, steak tacos, chicken tamales and Sopaipillas! It was all amazing and such good quality food. We did take out and the wait wasn’t too bad, albeit they were very busy. Great customer service and food! We will be back 😊

Yelp
Excellent place to grab some very authentic Mexican food. It's located in a bit of an older plaza with other stores but it's well worth the trip if you know you'll be in the area. We have tried: Tacos Burritos Soap de Res (beef soup) Quesabirria tacos And they were ALL delicious. Service was pretty quick and courteous, you get your own food at the counter otherwise. The place is clean inside, the area is a bit of an older side of town but hey, worth it. Check it out if you can.

Yelp
Food was why we came, as this was recommended by a friend. There is a large menu, and many options from which to choose. My wife had the carnitas plate, and that was a lot of food which she described as good and flavorful, although she thought the rice was bland. Overall she liked the carnitas "fine enough." I ordered the tilapia tacos. Three tacos with large flaky talapia filets, grilled well. Unfortunately, there was little real flavor to enjoy. The fish was rather bland, accompanied only with shredded lettuce and canned pineapple chunks, and a bit of schmeared guacamole underneath it all. I doused hot sauce hopping to get some flavor. So while impressively large and fresh feeling, I left feeling a little unsatisfied. The ambiance was okay. Several families were there. Lots of take out activity! Overall alright. Good value on food that didn't have anything special to recommend it. Will return at some time, but not going to rush. We have other places we have enjoyed more.

Yelp
Carne asada burrito was tender and good. Quesabirria was also delicious and well put together and perfect portion. Carne asada fries were tender and the cheese they melted on top was delicious and fries were cooked perfectly. Tripas street tacos, wishes the tripe was crispier. Carnitas was decent. Al pastor was decent. Churros were undercooked on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The horchata was like gas station horchata.

Destine R.

Yelp
Fast service, friendly, good food and nicely priced. I would recommend. Inside is nice and clean.

Joseph D.

Yelp
The only thing worth eating here is the burrito. The Carne Asada plate is disgusting.. most of the meat is not chewable.the carnitas tacos are plain tasteless pork with no sauce. I had high hopes for this place because it had good reviews, but oh boy what a disappointment. Never again
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
The inside of this restaurant is cute and the staff is super nice. However, the food itself didn't have much flavor and neither did the horchata. My fiance got the asada tacos and I got the enchiladas plate. The beans had too much water added to them which made it almost like soup and the rice didn't have enough flavor.

Lynn N.

Yelp
Great service, large portions, very close to our home. I ordered the Shredded Beef Chimichanga with Rice, Refried Beans, & Guacamole. We had to take about half in a box, the next day had some for lunch. It was better than the night I ordered it. Two days later the wife and I finished it off, and even better. I'm ready to go back but the wife wants try other place's, so we went to a place up Powers. It was terrible and cost twice as much. I think she is ready to back. Thank you TSgt L N

Yelp
Not a fancy place, limited tables, but the food was above average. Fresh and made to order. The coconut flan was not good...it was not fresh.. edible but worst I have ever had. On a good note the birria tacos were the best I ever had. Would definitely go back and skip the dessert.

Yelp
After finding this place accidentally, while looking for a new Mexican place to try, I decided to check it out. Located in a little strip mall, I noticed upon entering that it was packed. Most tables were full & there was a small line. Their menu was extensive, but contained most of your typical dishes, easily ordered by number. I decided on a chicken chimichanga & found the price to be quite reasonable. We didn't have to wait long at all, I felt as though it was a quality fast food. The chimichanga was one of the best I've ever had. The flavors were extensive & the tortilla was crisp, but not oily or overly done. The rice & beans, again were a notch above your typical side of rice & beans. My husband had their enchiladas & there were no leftovers, always a good sign. Everything I tasted had quality, genuine flavor & I truly enjoyed eating here. Will definitely come back & sample more items on the menu!!!

Yelp
Went with other's reviews and what an awesome choice!!! Located in a little strip mall and just one of those hole in the wall places that you know have treasures to offer! What an awesome meal! First, the menu is all pictures hanging from ceiling and everything is well priced for what you get. The portions were big, so could be shared between two if you really want to, but why??? We had the carne asada plate, the carnitas plate and enchiladas with ground beef. We also got chips with salsa and guacamole. The carne was flavorful and tender, the carnitas were so moist and so yummy and the sauce for the enchiladas was perfect in taste and spice. The plates come with rice and refried beans, both were so good! They serve pico and guacamole as sides and we were amazed by the several corn tortillas that came and the homemade flour tortillas. Service was quick, food came out well presented and it was hot when delivered. The prices are awesome for what you get. Bonus...checked in through Yelp and got sopapillas for dessert. Light and airy with a dust of cinnamon sugar, fried perfectly and came with some honey on top and whip cream. This was a first visit for our locals who were with us and now is on their return list when they need their Mexican food fix.

Yelp
I was from out of town and looking for green chili. some of my friends suggested chain type restaurants but I was looking for something more local. This place fit the bill. It was in a small strip mall type place and there were around 10 of us and we sat right down. They handled our order as we all picked different items. They handled all our special requests without issue and were very friendly. The bill was a quarter of what it would have been at the chain restaurant, and we had a great meal with great service. The green chili was delicious!!

Yelp
dude. the best mexican in the springs. the pozole is mind blowing delicious & so is the quesa birria the staff is friendly and always very fast service !!! they even have pictures of each meal so you can see what it will look like before you order . 10/10 every time

Yelp
Good food. Great prices. Refer to picture below. I have no extra thoughts to add. Well, I don't believe in quantum mechanical explanations of consciousness if you really want to know.

Yelp
This little restaurant is located in a corner strip mall, and nothing fancy. Service was very friendly and hospitable (). I ordered their birria tacos dorados with consommé and those were great! ()They are big tacos, so good enough for a meal! I ordered them just to try them and shared them as an appetizer. As a meal, I ordered the carnitas plate and had to take 1/2 home as they were plentiful. Carnitas had a good flavor and very good (). Beans and rice were ok. Red salsa was better than their green. My husband ordered their nachos and I would not recommend (I tasted them.) The nachos are made with nacho cheese (the kind from the can!) I was super disappointed they served canned cheese instead of authentic cheese. Overall, I might come back just for those birria tacos!

Yelp
My sister-in-law and I had tilapia tacos, my wife had the Enchilada plate, one beef and one cheese & onion. Both dishes were very good. I prefer being waited on at my table, not a window with the menu plastered on the wall behind the cashier. Service was not too bad, took about 15 minutes to get our food which was delivered to our table. The restaurant is pretty small with maybe 40 person seating. Restaurant could benefit from small make over and thorough cleaning.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little neighborhood eatery. The place is small town but the taste is Big Time! Many on this day took their orders to go but there is enough seating to handle a meal rush. The food is made to order and the "menu" gives a couple dozen choices of plates. I hade the enchilada/taco combo with refried beans and rice and my sister have three tacos de carne. The chips and salsa were extra but worth the $2.99. The flavor meant no need to add salsa but they had rojo and verde salsas. They also have some traditional beverages I would like to try next time. Great find i. this cold snowy day. I will for sure come here again when I am in the Springs.

Yelp
My new favorite spot in the Springs for delicious Mexican food! The staff are so kind and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their food. The prices and portions are are wonderful and you will not leave here hungry. My husband and I shared an order of street tacos with pastor, birria tacos, and a carne asada plate that comes with rice and beans. Everything was delicious but my favorite was a close tie between the pastor tacos and the birria. They load the tacos with a ton of meat, which was cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed our meal and are looking forward to coming back to try even more of their large menu.

Neil A.

Yelp
GrubHub trashed the delivery. NO COMMUNICATION! I called 10 minutes after last delivery time to find out dinner was on the porch in freezing weather. Cold enough to demand microwave. Food was a mess from poor packaging but taste was surprisingly good.

Yelp
I decided to stop at this place today (11/29/23) for lunch. I ordered a shredded beef chimichanga plate with rice, refried beans, and guacamole. In addition, I also got a shredded beef taco with onions and cilantro in a soft corn tortilla. I thought my meal was pretty good. The beef had flavor. I found the refried beans to be tastier than most fast food Mexican restaurants. The guacamole was fresh, and it was lumpy. It was similar to the one served at Chipotle and El Pollo Loco. The service was very fast, and the restaurant was clean. This place is pretty good, and I'd recommend this place for a quick bite to eat in Colorado Springs.

Yelp
Love this place, go very frequently. Just posting this review so I can add the full menu photo

Yelp
I love this place! Real, good, food that's inexpensive and authentic! My favorite Birria tacos in Colorado Springs.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for a quick, delicious meal. I had the tacos al pastor today. So delicious and hot.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
I guess my expectations were too high based on reviews . Chicken burrito was all beans and rice , I found A piece of chicken , del taco spicy chicken burrito is better . The tortilla was soggy. The carnitas burrito was loaded with dry meat, boyfriend didn't eat it. The street carne asada taco was flavorless and so chewy, I gave it to the dog. The chips and salsa were great. Will not go back for just that.
google avatar

Pam S.

Yelp
We haven't been back here for a couple years (distance) The food was not nearly as good as we have had previously. The green pork chile was so-so. My husband's carne asada tacos were also disappointing. The meat was overcooked and tough. The rice was bland and the beans were like watered down soup.
google avatar

Yeti G.

Yelp
Great birria. The consume was better than other other place in the springs too. Rice and beans are hand made; will be going back.

J B.

Yelp
Excellent! We finally found good Mexican food and it didn't break the bank $! It was worth driving all the way across town! We sampled a few items and all of them exceeded our expectations. The breakfast bacon, egg, cheese, potato burrito was excellent! The carnitas plate, enchiladas w red sauce, and the smothered burrito, all were great. The prices are very fair and the portions were good. We ordered online and picked it up to go. Easy process. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
Super friendly service. Food was ready fast. Great drink options. Give this place a try!

Orlando A.

Yelp
The food was not bad and the service was pretty quick. The carne asada was not seasoned too well but the shrimp tacos were amazing
google avatar

Randall B.

Yelp
Great food. Great price. Great service. Great atmosphere. This place delivers big flavor and good portions that will fill you up and send you away happy. Highly recommend this place. Everything is pictured clearly up on the wall. Items are numbered and prices are displayed clearly. The dessert looked great and if you check in on Yelp you get one for free! There is a private parking lot and don't be afraid to ask questions. Our server was very kind and took time to explain the dishes and offer recommendations. A+ Will be back 100%

Yelp
Oh my gosh I finally found the best Mexican restaurant in Colorado Springs just when I'm about to leave. I have been to several Mexican restaurants and for some reason I'm not sure if it's just Colorado but these restaurant owners refuse to season their food. I came here for of course some good food and went off the reviews. I'm glad I did because it was so good!! I'll definitely try to make it back before I leave Springs.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Great service, friendly staff, and the food was delicious. Prices are excellent, can't wait to try their other offerings soon.
google avatar

Lori B.

Yelp
Stopped here based on other reviews of the place- very thankful. The food was delicious. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with red sauce which had great flavor. They came with a huge helping of beans and rice. Portion sizes are large. The service was quick. You place your order at the counter, after you study the hanging menu....they bring it out. It is a small restaurant that was full when I entered and full when I left. The colors are bright and cheerful inside. I will visit at least one more time while I'm this contract.
google avatar

Debbie G.

Yelp
My husband & I had just went to the movies & wanted Mexican. This place was close by. This was our first visit. You place you order at the counter. They have lots of pictures to choose from. We have been on a diet & did not see fajitas. So I ask & she made it to order. Sorry no photos. It was a plate full of chicken, peppers, onions w/ sides of guacamole & sour cream. It was so good!!! We will be back. Stop by & Enjoy!

Yelp
Looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in COS? I promise you this is it. Walking in I had to double take as I didn't feel I was in Colorado Springs anymore and I loved everything about it. The decor was homey and inviting. The menu is displayed overhead with pictures if you're visual like myself making the ordering process that much easier as the menu can be overwhelming at a quick glance. Order at the register and take your order number with you to your table making it easy for the staff to find you when your oder is ready. Food was everything I was hoping it would be and more. Carne azada and carne asada fries was just what I didn't know I needed. The perfect fries to steak ratio with gooey cheese and a scoop of guac for added flavor. And plenty to go around as this fed all 6 of us, happily. Will absolutely be back!

Yelp
I read on Facebook somewhere that was an authentic Mexican restaurant so we decided to have dinner here today. I'm always a little concerned with the door of a restaurant is propped open. It just feels unsanitary. The lady running the cash register seemed bothered by having to tend to us. I don't think she smiled once. The tacos al pastor were "ok" it was 50% pineapple chunks, which I KNOW are part of tacos al pastor but dude not that much. I coulda dealt with all that...BUT the place was FULL of flies. I had to constantly swat them away from my face, arms, food and my kid's food. We ate super fast and left. As we did I said my courtesy "gracias" to the lady at the desk and she didn't look up. Sorry Tlaquepaque, your food was "ok" but the service and restaurant full of FLIES just don't make us want to go back.
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot in all of Colorado to get a burrito or enchiladas. Since I live on the other side and don't frequent it as often as I'd like, I usually order two meals Burrito with carne asada, pollo, carnitas, or Al pastor are awesome. My favorites are Carne Asada and Pollo and love that they add both rice and beans like they do in the Mission District of SF. For dinner I grab 2 chicken enchiladas with green sauce and rice and beans! Absolutely divine! You cannot go wrong with anything. There Birria Tacos also kick serious ass
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Great place and great homemade Mexican/Tex mex , I did a little research and found this amazing little restaurant. Salsas are good and spicy as they should be!
google avatar

Martin A.

Yelp
We really enjoy the food here, this is our go to place for the torta ahogada, it's one simple meal but we enjoy it feels very homemade. We also enjoy the tacos dorados and their birria plates. The service is always very fast and friendly.
google avatar

Heather W.

Yelp
"YUCK" about sums this experience up. Beef nachos for $9.50 are less tasty than Taco Bell, but use a lot of the same ingredients. Including canned liquid nacho cheese. The taco meat is tasteless and watered down. Guacamole is not homemade. I'm afraid to eat the carne asada burrito. I noticed they keep the precooked carne asada in a metal container above the grill. As she was putting it back, the container caught the edge of the shelf and the watery meat spilled onto the shelf. SHE USED A DIRTY RAG TO SWEEP THE MEAT INTO MY BURRITO. And the meat tastes funny.... Now whether that's because of what I saw or because it actually does taste funny, we many never know. This is a definite "do not return" for me.
google avatar

Barbara R.

Yelp
This was just amazing! First when we pull up it is nothing to look at in a strip shopping center. Then go in and see pics of all the food to order. We got asada and shrimp and a carnitas plate. Instead of rice and beans we asked for a salad. It wasn't any ordinary salad it had avocados on it too! Both dishes were just excellent. I checked in for the free dessert and got the flan to go but had a couple of bites before we left. Oh man that was so delicious! Go here! It was the best!

Myles J.

Yelp
Get the shrimp burrito. Has tons of pictures if you're going with someone who doesnt speak Spanish.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Extremely quick, ordered, went to wash our hands and the food was already out! Loved the speed! The food was also fantastic! I wouldve loved to come again had I found it sooner.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in SO long!!! My boyfriend got chicken tamales and I got the smothered burrito with both red and green sauce and the chicken. The green sauce was spicy , so if you're not inclined to want a lot of spicy, stick with the red. I highly recommend this place. We grew up in Southern California and have experienced genuine Mexican food and we both agree that this was amazing. Fantastic flavors and the price is great!
google avatar

Darrell P.

Yelp
Amazing food came out how we all liked it i had the-number 12ground beef taco amazing
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
Big menu, reasonable prices. Ordinary food, nothing particularly good or bad. Packed fast food atmosphere, I'd get takeout.
google avatar

Mishka C.

Yelp
I enjoy the food, staff is friendly and place is clean. Portions are great and the food tastes seasoned. My only complaint would be that the guac tastes store bought.
google avatar

Shelby L.

Yelp
This is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the city! I was skeptical at first because they have VERY dated decor and their menu is a bunch of giant pictures hanging from the ceiling. But then I tried the food and fell in love with the place!! It's all authentic and cooked with fresh ingredients. EVERYTHING is bursting with flavor, from the most basic refried bean to the most complex carne asada. You will not regret giving this place a try!
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
Loved this place! Great food and fair prices and love the Yelp checkin for a free dessert. Had the birria tacos, sopes, and sopapillas. All were fantastic. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Very good Mexican restaurant. Servings were ample and very tasty. Several friends went out as a group. We received our food very quickly and there was enough space for all of us, as well as, other customers. I would certainly go again.
