"Tlayuderías are in almost every neighborhood in Oaxaca, but Doña Flavia stands out since they serve a wider universe of grilled proteins, like ribs or flank steak. Here, you can sit comfortably in the two-story space decorated with colorful murals, while enjoying the enticing aroma of charcoal and grilled meats—which is part of the street cred in these types of establishments. Tlayudas with tasajo are the classic option, but we recommend the version filled with chapulines. This delicious combination is an extra large tortilla, stuffed with paste-like seasoned beans, fragrant avocado leaves, cheese, cabbage, and fresh herbs, like chepiche for lemony cilantro-like notes. Load them up with one of their salsas of varying levels of spiciness, and then wash it down with a glass of horchata. photo credit: Carlos Elizondo photo credit: Carlos Elizondo photo credit: Carlos Elizondo photo credit: Carlos Elizondo photo credit: Carlos Elizondo" - Mariana Camacho

Super delicious and authentic taste, the locals eat here! We’ll be back for sure everyday this week while on vacation. Oh yeah! The sauces are spicy as they should all be… viva Oaxaca Nos encanto. El sabor muy original, pidan la tostada de pata 🤤

My Airbnb host recommended here: Two floor, bicycle themed, and super colorful eatery! Got a glass of horchata (came with cantaloupe pieces, which was amazing) and a chorizo tostada which was also delicious. Comes with four different salsas to try and the service is excellent as it is in many Oaxacan places. Feels super local and I’d def come back

Fantastic tlayuda. Great selection of salsas. Beware of going early because the heat of the day and the heat of la parrilla make it a little uncomfortable inside, but I highly recommend. Looking at what the people around me had, I would say that other things on the menu looked great too.

Just had dinner here tonight, our first night in Oaxaca. Very authentic from what I have been told. A solid 4 stars with excellent staff. And a compliment will definitely earn you a little surprise from management. We went with the suggestions from the waiter and ordered plain quesadillas and steak for the kids.

Hands-down the best tlayuda I’ve ever eaten. Lots of options; huge portions; attentive service; bicycle-themed decor.

I've been to this place many times, but recently the service has taken a turn for the worse. And today it was simply awful. First, the waiteress assigned to our table took my and my family's order wrong. I asked her to repeat it for me, so we could make sure she got it right, she continued making mistakes, we corrected her, but the changes were never made. When the food came out, I told her we had the wrong order and to our surprise the waiteress started yelling at me, she began to scream that it was our fault our order was wrong. To make things worse, my youngest daughter had begun to eat and shortly after realized it was not the tlayudas she had asked for. And that was when another waitress began to make fun of her for eating and not checking her food prior. ¡Necesitan mejorar sus servicio al cliente! Esperamos que nadie pase tan desagradable momento como nosotros.

I ate here two times while I was in Oaxaca, and the food was so bland and disappointing. Underseasoned and underwhelming; although the portions are gigantic and everything is presented nicely, it just doesn’t taste good. The service is friendly and fast.

I'm no expert, but I've had tlayudas a few different places around and these are my favorite so far. Absolutely delicious, and the salsas are excellent as well. Nice place and friendly service.
