The Mog Champ sends his regards. An excellent bakery in Collingwood, tried their carbonara twist and Saffron + Lemon + Currant Bun which was apparently only available on the weekends. Nice combination of savoury and sweet to start the morning. It was cool seeing the bakers in action as well they have a good selection of bread and would have loved to try more of them next time. Good service and a clean environment. Thanks for the breakfast To Be Frank. Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ

Went to To Be Frank bakery for pastries & a dirty chai. Tried the chocolatine, which looked beautifully delicate but wasn’t quite chocolatey enough for me. The Black Forest danish was a standout - richly filled with brownie-like piece and topped with cream. Also had the ham and leek focaccia; tasty, though a bit on the chewy side. Cozy wooden interior with limited indoor seating, but plenty more outside.

To Be Frank Bakery honestly feels like one of those places you walk into once and immediately think, “Yep… I’m coming back.” 😄 The moment you step inside, you get that comforting smell of real bread being made the proper way. Their sourdough has that perfect chew, the pastries are ridiculously flaky, and everything just tastes… honest. You can tell the bakers genuinely love what they do. The vibe is relaxed, the staff are friendly, and nothing feels pretentious. It’s just good people making seriously good bread. Simple, but so refreshing. ❤️🍞

I was in the area and craving a savoury bake, so I headed to To Be Frank, the cafe I’ve been wanting to try for a while. I tried the savoury Swiss with mushroom and cheese. It was okay, but I think it would taste better if it was toasted. The other pastries looked delicious, and I’ll return to try the cinnamon rolls!

A very popular bakery in the area, love the fact they have plenty of savoury options. We had salami, goat cheese croissant + carbonara twist with parmesan, cured egg yolk, pancetta & black pepper + mushroom & tarragon & stracciatella cheese pan suisse. They were all so crispy & delicious!

Another nice cafe with lovely range of bread, croissants, tarts. Only tried the apple tart - sweetness was just right. It was a bit flaky yet dense. A slight burnt caramelised taste in the apples but the sweet cream on top blended well.

Very expensive bread compared to many other artisanal bakeries. The rosemary foccacia was the best I've ever had, soft, airy and not dry. Really nice bread, definitely one of the best quality breads of Melbourne.

To Be Frank Bakery has a rustic-modern charm that instantly makes you feel at ease. While the standard pastries are good, what really makes this place special are their unique creations. For me, the Mushroom + Stracciatella & Tarragon was surprisingly moreish, the Salami & Goat’s Cheese pastry had a perfect savoury balance, and the Apple Tarte Tatin was just delightful! It’s these inventive touches that set this bakery apart and would keep me coming back. A great spot if you’re after both comfort classics and something a little different!
