"Adjacent to the grocer Cedar Market, Lebanese restaurant To Beirut offers kebabs, shawarma, and other specialties from the region. For those on a spicy and more exploratory journey, a contemporary take on falafel is displayed in the falaffalo — Buffalo sauce-infused falafel. To Beirut’s rollups are offered on either white or wheat pita and can be stuffed with french fries. To Beirut is currently open for takeout and delivery (Chownow)." - Samer Khudairi

Came here to grab a quick sit down dinner on a Wednesday night around 6:45. The restaurant has an open kitchen and the interior is fairly Spartan, but the food is anything but. We put our order in at the counter and then only had to wait about 10 minutes for the food to come out. We got the baba ghannouj and Lebanese nachos as appetizers as well as the stuffed cabbage roll plate with side salad and chicken shawarma plate with Greek salad for entrees. The baba ghannouj had a deliciously smoky eggplant taste with it and a good amount of olive oil. The Lebanese nachos with spicy chicken (French fry/wedges with spicy tahini) were immensely flavorful. The chicken shawarma plate had a heaping amount of chicken thigh that was tasted incredible and the rice pilaf that accompanied it was fluffy and buttery! The garlic spread and hummus were also awesome. The side greek salad was nice and light while still having a lot of taste. We eat at a good amount of Turkish and Mediterranean restaurants and this place stands out. The employees were all incredibly friendly and we chatted a bit with them about how awesome the food was. I would definitely recommend seeking this place out as the food is worth the drive no matter how far away you are coming from!

One of the best salads I've had in a while. My chicken salad was fresh, flavorful, full of beautiful, vibrant vegetables and prepared to order. The chicken was marinated and grilled perfectly. I was so happy with my food, I will absolutely be returning. Street parking. Dining room is a little chilly on a Fall day, maybe better for takeout until milder weather.

I’m not sure if this is the place I mean to review. There is a Lebanese store, and it’s here on the map. I came today to get some lunch and I had a picnic on the green across the street! Plenty of tables and umbrellas even, as well as a gazebo. Lebanese Food, made fresh and affordable. I love coming here for foods like hummus or tabouli, which you’d pay far more for at a larger supermarket, and it is far more authentic here. There is an unpleasant smell when you enter. I honestly have no idea what the source is, but the food is very very good (the best Kibbeh I’ve ever had).

Google
Excellent shawarma at reasonable prices. Definitely worth checking out. I have tried the chicken, beef and kaftan kebab wraps and all three were excellent and the Cajun fries were good too! I have eaten here twice in one month and will be happy to come here again. The place is clean and bright, but could use some music or a TV screen to liven it up a little.

Google
To Beirut is a fusion of authentic Lebanon cuisine with unbeatable hospitality! Great for a quick bite, dinner and even catering!

Google
Lamb kebeb skewer was delicious. Tried lamb gyro it was nice however lamb pieces were too big making it messy to eat !!! Garlic sauce is really good. Vegetarian kebeb balls were made of chick peas and spinach… it was alright. Staff is nice. Service was quick. Restaurant is neat and tidy. Will visit again.

Google
So I went to this place recently and was really happy with the quality of the food and the service given. We were running late in traffic and we had an online order we would be there after a couple of minutes of the closing time. The staff was kind of enough to wait for us. Food tasted delicious the white sauce was sour in a good way. Lamb had great flavor along with the chicken. Salad helped balanced the food. I also really liked the rice which also a nice balance and tasted good. Food is on the pricier end here though. I’m not sure about how the indoor dining if I had to be completely honest but they raised there standard again I saw a lot of 1 stars but this place is nice. 4.5/5 would recommend

Google
Excellent shawarma! Very flavorful and sauces are on point!

Mollie M.

Yelp
Once we started ordering the platters and sides it was a COMPLETE game changer. That being said - the sandwiches are fine. My husband and I think we're an elderly couple, so we split everything. Lately we like to get a Shawarma or kofte platter with greek salad and either fries or rice. Both the fries and rice are deliciously seasoned and wonderful! We'll usually get another side too. I am particularly partial to the cheese roll. My husband really likes the grape leaves. Don't skip any of the sauces they give you. They are all delicious. The restaurant is fast-casual and the food is served in to-go containers. To Beirut is in Norwood common within walking distance to two public lots and a bunch of street parking.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Vegan friendly. Friendly staff. Please update menu. Chip Dip Mania is not accurate. Only 1 dip & French Fries instead of Falafle and array of dips.

Jasmin W.

Yelp
I was in the mood for something different. I couldn't quite place my cravings, but I asked a coworker to recommend his favorite place. He recommended "To Beirut" and their Spicy Chicken Shawarma Fatooush salad. While I was browsing the menu, I noticed you could order some items a-la-carte. Since I had skipped lunch, I wanted some eats for the car ride. I did a beef kebab, falafel and a Filo Cheese Roll. WOW! The Kebab was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Their was a dipping sauce, I thought it was Tahini but it was packed with onion flavor. So good. The falafel was perfectly crispy outside but soft inside. Not overcooked, not hard. Just perfect. Then the Filo Cheese roll. My first time trying but definitely not my last. I haven't even gotten to the salad, but these flavors were so good, I had to stop and leave this review. I will be back!

Mark T.

Yelp
The food is so fresh and good here. We had the mixed grill and the Kufta. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dinning area is clean and comfortable. What a great place!!

Anish K.

Yelp
Delicious food! Ordered food to go. We had the Chicken shawarma plate, falafel plate and the Homemade Baba Ghanoush (Mashed roasted eggplant blended with tahini sauce & olive oil, served with a choice of fresh white or wheat pita). Both the plates were served with rice pilaf & a house salad, hummus, To Beirut's garlic sauce and pita bread. The food was fresh and delicious. Their special garlic sauce is a good side on the plate. All sides were a bit extra sour though.

John H.

Yelp
Nice hole in the wall place for a quick bite when the craving for Mediterranean hits. I tried the chicken gyro and the falafel gyro for lunch, and it was a great deal at $14 for both. I thought the chicken gyro was excellent. It was well seasoned and the garlic sauce went well with the pickled vegetables. The bread was nice and soft. The falafel was okay. A bit saltier than I would have liked. It was a little dry but that's probably because I had to wait an hour to eat it. I'm sure it's much better hot and fresh.

Beth D.

Yelp
Falafel was out of this world. The side salad was gorgeous, full of assorted fresh greens and some little surprises like pickle slices. Loved the balsamic dressing, you should bottle it. My friend and I lingered to chat at our table because the vibe was chill, not hectic or rushed or stressed at all. Wish you had the thicker pita but thats pretty much the norm.

Sasha B.

Yelp
This place used to be quite good. Haven't been in year, maybe a decade. What a disappointment. Came in for a simple shawarma and what I got was something from under a panini press. Not sure when they started panini pressing shawarma rollups but it was gross. Rather than soft pita you get crispy crunchy with warm lettuce and hummus. It was embarrassing. I assume it was to mask stale pita or perhaps the dry, stringy, reheated lamb.

Amy L.

Yelp
Clean, typical pizza decor. Really tasty beef Thing? This is not something I usually eat, but the meat is flavorful, tenderish and generous portions. Staff - very friendly and brought my order to my table without me asking.

Fatboy S.

Yelp
The 4 1/2 star rating seems accurate to me. First time here. Thought everything was very good, except the steak was way overcooked. Prices seemed fair. Customer service was good. Would return.

Ken C.

Yelp
Excellent food with quality ingredients. very reasonable prices. Treat yourself. Then, go next door to the Cedar Market and stock up on Lebanese specialties including excellent delicious "soujok" (Lebanese sausages" I'm

Ashley D.

Yelp
My favorite Lebanese place ever The Fattoush salad and tabouli salad are both incredible. I also really enjoyed the spicy chicken Shawarma.

Dani C.

Yelp
Love the food!!! The Market next door is really amazing as well. The mixed frills was really yummy

Hristos K.

Yelp
I have ordered from there many times. Would even get good from them before they opened the restaurant and would serve food from their grocery store next door. Everytime, everything has been delicious and the people working there are great. Always a great option for Lebanese/Mediterranean food

L S.

Yelp
Decent food, but the prices increased and for what you get it's no longer a value.....now $16 for a chicken kabob dinner.... two small kabobs a dollop of rice and a tiny salad...used to be one of my Norwood favorites.... not any more.....sigh.

Lori Y.

Yelp
Chill, low key spot for some delicious Lebanese food. I had the "Falafello" which was very good. I just didn't like that there was spring mix lettuce in there, the leaves had wilted from the heat and that was kind of unpleasant. The Lebanese nachos are such a good idea and are very tasty. I also tried the Ksara red wine, it was great! Service is quick. The guy working the cash register was a bit cold at first, but then became more talkative/friendly.

Toni S.

Yelp
Delicious food, they're always working hard to satisfy customers. I've never been disappointed with them.

Quontay T.

Yelp
Fast friendly and delicious food. Lots of options for vegans/vegetarians. My go to when I want something tasty and fresh

Chris S.

Yelp
Friendly staff along with good food/ gives you a decent experience. I recommend for an in person meal or even to order take out as well

Russ A.

Yelp
About ¾ of my review consisted of solid gold advice, from an ACF Certified Master Chef with 2 Michelin stars to his credit. Instead of saying "You're funny", maybe you could put some of my recommendations into action and start making some real money!! If I were running your place, I'd have at lest 10 locations, and would be franchising, inside of 5 years. The way you do things, you'll just be mediocre forever, if not fail completely. Plus, I gave credit where credit was due. I said that your chicken skewers were excellent and that your chicken livers were amazing (when not overcooked to hell). I even gave you props for seeming to be determined to improve things (you just don't seem to be able to). And was that "hope to see you soon" crack supposed to be some kind of threat? Because I've been in there at least 5 or 6 times since then and you didn't say shit! I'm going up assume that it wasn't a veiled threat, because you don't want to be threatening me. You really, really don't want to threaten me.

Christina L.

Yelp
Really a gem in Norwood, excellent service and really good food. We throughly enjoyed all of our dinner. Authentic and chill atmosphere- causal dining. No table service- limited beers available.

Michael S.

Yelp
Great food. Good prices. Can dine in or take out. Keftah kabob, chicken kabob, and spicy shawarmas are some of the favorites. If you are in Norwood area definitely try.

Kim C.

Yelp
The chicken shawarma plate here is so good and nice portion for a meal as it comes with sides - salad with balsamic vinaigrette, rice pilaf, hummus and garlic sauce. We've also ordered the super shawarma roll up (comes with beef and chicken) and we add fries to it. Nice casual place to dine in, but we typically get it to go.

C M.

Yelp
Ordered about $100 take out for a special occasion. Food was fantastic. Ordered multiple kabobs, steak, chicken, lamb, etc. Perfect. Hummus was amazing. Please, I want the recipe. My only wish for To Beirut is that maybe the owner would put a bit more effort into making the restaurant a nicer for sit down dining, but I'll have to admit that may be a bit nit picky. I would go back in a heartbeat but for takeout only. It seems like To Beirut could crush the market if the dine-in experience was just a bit fancier and modern. I ate at a place up in the Boston Seaport called Committee a month ago. OUZERI + BAR in Boston, MA - Committee (committeeboston.com) The food at To Beirut gives Committee a run for their money. Not quite as fancy as Committee, more traditional, but absolutely fantastic just the same. Staff at the To Beirut pick-up counter didn't seem friendly at first....but ended up being such a nice guy. I mean, really friendly and warm. I'm still a bit confused about their website because it seems like they have two? https://to-beirut.com and https://www.tobeirutnorwood.com The prices seem different on each (which is also a bit confusing). Why? Bottom Line: traditional Lebanese food. Amazing. Maybe stick with take-out, but that's just my opinion. Enjoy.

C C.

Yelp
Nice little place with large portions of food. The chicken. Shawarma is delicious- I got the spicy and it was perfect. Not too hot but just right. My only disappointment is that all drinks are in cans & bottles so there's no free refills and they are expensive. Probably best for takeout.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Love the chicken kabob plate with tabouleh. The baba ganoush is excellent. Family platters are also quite good.

Renee D.

Yelp
Excellent service! Excellent food! The gentleman that work there are very kind! They have indoor seating but we sat out side at one of the benches!

J S.

Yelp
Second time since they new ownership took over. Fist time was good. Second time no char on the lamb kabob. Got sick from the meal.

Larry B.

Yelp
Great place for authentic Lebanese food. The guys are super friendly. Highly recommend the lamb kabab plate. The Lebanese nachos and the baba Ghanoush.

Bill J.

Yelp
Pretty chill dudes working the counter and making the food. Definitely a relaxed atmosphere, from safety protocols to business attitude. Food was pretty authentic -- it's been a while since I've eaten Middle Eastern food, but they did not disappoint. This would have gotten 5 stars if not for two instances: Instance 1: An elderly couple came in right as they were closing -- 7:00 pm -- and tried to place an order. The cashier turned them away. Not only did I feel bad for the couple, but the cashier lost a potential (repeat) customer. Instance 2: Upon arrival, I discovered that none of the employees were wearing masks. Now I understand that 2 weeks after the 2nd dose of the vaccine, it is technically safe to unmask. But in a professional environment -- and a restaurant kitchen no less -- I would imagine at least the chefs would be wearing masks, even if the cashier opted not to. However, this was unfortunately not the case. While it's not a big deal for me, other customers may have taken greater concern. Overall I would recommend this place and come back, especially once the COVID situation has blown over. It's a good place to get a quick snack or lunch and has a plethora of authentic foods on their menu.

Andrea T.

Yelp
Ordered the fattoush salad expecting it to be the herby chopped (traditional) salad they show in their website, but it's just a mixed greens salad with balsamic and some pita chips thrown on top. Some items from here are great (I.e. their chicken kebab plates) but others are a miss like this salad and takeout wraps are super sogggy.

Haley C.

Yelp
The food is really good- always fresh. Service is speedy. We really enjoy their salads, wraps and rice.

Amal T.

Yelp
Authentic middle eastern style shawarmas! (Had the original chicken, lamb kebab, beef kafta, and soujk sharwarmas - all excellent). All made to order. Family-owned place. Love it.

Victoria C.

Yelp
I ordered takeout for lunch on a weekday and quick and easy. I ordered Irene's homemade lamb rollup, super shawarma roll up, beef shawarma plate with a falafel, and pistachio baklava. I requested no onions in the lamb rollup, but yet I find a handful of onions, so I'm guessing they don't read the notes section for accommodations. I was disappointed, but at least they were easily taken out. The rollup pita bread was had good texture and chew to it and the lamb was okay. It's not super filling, so you'll have room for dessert! The pistachio baklava comes with 5 different pieces for $15.99, which is quite steep in my opinion. The baklava is very oily with small flakey pieces around a pistachios on top. I had the beef shawarma later on and it was easy to reheat, but it might've made the meat a bit dryer than before. Thankfully, there was hummus and sauce to go long with the beef to add some flavor back to it. I wasn't a fan of the falafel I tried, but I think the texture and taste would have been better when it first came out fresh. Overall, the food was okay, but I wouldn't order from them again.

David K.

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant, with wonderful service, the food is outstanding. Nice to see vegan options. I would love to see them tone down the salt in everything just a bit. These are extraordinary times, tradition is a great thing, but people are getting to be overweight and have high blood pressure and other problems. Anxious to see what the owner will do.

Irina V.

Yelp
Portions are big but food tasted disgusting. I have been to many Middle East restaurants but this one I will never go again.

Tyson K.

Yelp
May take 20 minutes but the food is worth the wait. Authentic and delicious. Stop by the market next door to pickup a few items to go

Kajal H.

Yelp
The food here was very good. So good that my boyfriend and I came here twice in 1 week while we were on a trip in the Boston area! The first time they were out of a bunch of things...we didn't realize we came very close to closing time (7pm) on a Sunday evening. They were so busy there were at least 30 plates being made in front of us. We ended up with a chicken shawarma plate and beef kabob plate. My boyfriend and I enjoyed every inch of our plates. They came with a very good size portion of meat, rice pilaf, hummus, garlic sauce, house salad and pita. The salad was fresh and came with a balsamic vinaigrette. It was a lot of food and fairly priced. Not to mention it was delicious. The second time we got beef shawarma which was also good. Their menu has a lot of options. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone craving Lebanese food!

Marie G.

Yelp
This was highly recommended by a friend and rightly so. Very delicious and reasonably priced. We had the gyros and chicken kabob. The garlic dip was the best.

DuJuan S.

Yelp
Nestled to the left of Cedar Market is To Beirut. Im sorry, not sorry that I didnt take pictures before eating...it just didnt stand a chance. A+ customer service, friendly and engaging and had no problem answering any questions the wife and I had while ordering. The menu is great...many many options to choose from!! Our choices for lunch were: The Lamb Burger...perfect The fried chips with the house made sauce....you wont go wrong Chicken Falafel Salad...fresh and full and the portions are perfect Needless to say. We'll be back

Jingzhou M.

Yelp
It's one of our favorite Middle East kabob places in the area. However, for some reason, the food quality was not as good as before, at least the takeout order we had today. The dandelion dish, which is the signature dish and was awarded one of the best according to some rating magazine, was tasteless today. Not sure why, either someone did not follow the recipe or something was missing. In addition, the food were cold. My husband said they put the food into a bag when he arrived, but not sure why the food got cold so quickly. Hopefully it's an one-time bad experience.

Atla R.

Yelp
FOOD SICKNESS. Place is not clean, ordered from here and started throwing up after three hours. Workers were unsanitary and did not care to keep the food away from their coughing range. Food was literally stale and over-cooked. Disgusting and overpriced.

Beth K.

Yelp
We stopped here while traveling. While parking was a bit of an issue, the food is worth the visit The staff was super polite and food came out hot, fast and plentiful.

Raj D.

Yelp
Friendly service, flavorful food, prices that I'm sure haven't caught up with inflation yet. Definitely recommend this place. The only gripe I'd have is that errs too much fresh parsley, but I'm a parsley hater and most people aren't. Can go wrong with their chicken wrap or falafels. They also use good pickles for extra flavor and crunch

Kendra M.

Yelp
2.5 stars Cons: -Ordered online for pick-up. Specifically noted in the online order that I needed no tomato's and lettuce. Wrap came with both. -Menu on their website says add-ons are $1. The online ordering system charged $1.50 per. I added fries to my wrap and it had three fries in it. Definitely not worth the up charge. -Staff member behind the register wore his mask around his chin during COVID. There was a plastic barrier but masks are safer, and I believe mandatory by order of the state. Pros: -Was happy to see the food was made to order, even the chicken. It wasn't sitting in a warmer all day. -Spicy chicken had great flavor -Perfect portion I'd order again when COVID is over and I can safely be there in-person to order and ensure my order is done right.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Garlic sauce was amazing as was the spicy shawarma. We also got some baklava that I would get again

Tony Q.

Yelp
Saw the great yelp reviews on this place so stopped in here with two of my coworkers while in town for work. Relatively easy street parking right out front. Came into the dining room with the open kitchen and ordered at the counter. I got the trio of kabobs and a Knefe for dessert. Wow, food was awesome, staff was super friendly. The kabobs were all perfectly cooked, beef medium rare, chicken well done but not dry. Rice and hummus was great. The salad was a good portion size, fresh veggies and a tasty balsamic dressing. The knefe came out warm with such a fragrant perfume which I assume was the rose water. Decadent cheese bottom and a crunch top with a dollop if whipped cream. My only gripe with this place was that it was absolutely FREEZING in the dining room.

Henry W.

Yelp
With the current pandemic situation I understand the slow and confusing service. Yes I made the decision to dine in which wasn't an option but the people who worked there were nice enough to allow me to. It was uncomfortable eating in front of people waiting for their order. The Falafels was good but I just seems odd eating it from a box. The Chicken wrap however was a little greasy and the meats kept falling out.

Kavita P.

Yelp
The food is great, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients in each bite. The staff is friendly.

Jeff S.

Yelp
I was on the road and just finished a workout at Anytime Fitness and looking for dinner on the road. Based on great Yelp reviews, I took a chance and it did not disappoint. Extremely tasty food at a reasonable price. The spicy chicken Shawarma was amazing. The plate came with a big side salad, hummus and rice. Awesome meal. Definitely a favorite for a return.
