15 Best Brunch Restaurants in San Jose and the South Bay Area | Eater SF

"Toast Cafe & Grill is a classic California brunch spot known for hearty skillets, unique toast spreads, delectable French toasts, and refreshing mimosas. Though the interior gives more of a traditional diner feel, the bustling patio exudes a liveliness that amplifies the brunch experience. The wait can get quite long, but the plentiful menu items make up for it. Some of the most beloved, must-try dishes include the carnitas skillet, bananas foster French toast, and the corned beef hash benedict. For those who like to try multiple drinks, the mimosa flight, which comes with four flavors, is a hit." - Dianne de Guzman

Simply outstanding! The skillets and scrambles are great, and the Chilaquiles Molcajete was unbelievable! Red chilaquiles, panela cheese, cactus, jalapenos, chorizo, and cambray onions...topped with two eggs, red onions, and cilantro, over hash browns or country potatoes. There a couple of other Molcajete dishes, as well. The selection of eggs benedict was impressive. Service was great! Everything was super fresh and super tasty. Hugh portions.

First time at this place and the experience was excellent. The chilaquiles with green sauce had a very homemade and delicious flavor. The orange juice is 100% natural and the country-style potatoes were amazing. The service was outstanding: the waitresses were always attentive and friendly, making sure my coffee cup was never empty. I will definitely be back.

Google
The service and vibe here are fantastic. That said, the breakfast was just okay. Nothing particularly special, but it was nice to try it once. Worth a visit for the experience, though I probably wouldn’t come back just for the food.

N Rodriguez

Google
We had the Chile Verde with eggs and the Chilaquiles—both were delicious and well-prepared. The mimosa flight looked cute but didn’t quite deliver on value. Next time I’ll just get a regular mimosa. Service was great—friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was okay, nothing special. Overall, a solid spot for brunch if you're craving hearty food.

Google
We've been looking for a breakfast place like this one and it definitely didn't disappoint. Food is amazing and portions are quite big. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Google
The atmosphere was really quaint and classic. The menu had a lot of variety ranging from classic breakfast options to hispanic options. The food was really well made, you can taste the quality. The staff were really kind and attentive. Great place to grab a bite!

Google
Ok Toast.. I 👀 you.. yummy tye banana foster French toast was yummy and then some. The carnitas skillet was really good as well, no extra sauce needed. The toast cooked perfectly i see how you got that name 😏.. the only thing I would pass on was the cucumber juice . It was just ok. We sat outside with a nice shaded seating area. Would I return absolutely YES 💯.. The server was very nice as well.

Google
Absolutely everything about this place was perfect. The food amazing, the service outstanding, and the whole vibe was just welcoming and fun. Lenning and Darelis assisted us today and accommodated our large group and every request. Thank you so much! A bit of a drive for me, but well worth it and will definitely visit the Pleasanton location soon! :)

Yelp
I love this place so much I've been 2x this week!! Absolutely TOP notch service and amazing fresh food made quickly to order!! Even the tomatoes on my club sandwich tasted home grown! Yesterday I had a hash brown egg Benedict & omg, it was so so sooooo good!! They just recently expanded to serve dinner which I haven't been yet for anything but brunch, so we will have to try that still. For this review I will rave about brunch! It's tucked in a strip mall close to Willow Glen & is decorated nicely and has a decent sized patio for outdoor dining, all shaded. If you haven't been yet, give it a try soon!!

Yelp
Had Sunday brunch here for my 1st time & came around 11:30 which didn't seem too crowded at the time until maybe 20 mins in. We sat out in their covered patio which I thought was nice since it seemed to be pretty loud from the hustle & bustle from the kitchen inside. It's a very busy spot but staff are all friendly & attentive. I had their classic mimosa (with OJ) which is my go-to for brunch but they have other juice options & their drink menu looked extensive if you enjoy a boozy brunch! My chorizo skillet was yummy but wish there was just a bit more meat. Some fresh jalapeños added a nice kick to it all. Their sourdough toast was good but will note next time to maybe ask if it could be more toasty lol

Yelp
Got the Nutella French toast! Wish there was more Nutella in it but overall pretty good! Got seated pretty quickly which was a plus!

Yelp
So glad we made the drive to try out a new for us place! As soon as I saw they had fresh squeezed orange juice I knew I had to try it, and yes, it was delicious just like home squeezed (but expensive at $6.99 a glass! Yikes) I ordered the country fried steak and eggs which was a VERY generous portion! I could totally tell the country fried steak was big and homemade. Great country gravy over it, and much to my surprise, 3 eggs! Nice. I like my hashbrowns and my sourdough toast although I have to be honest, it was a little weird to see the waitress gave me only half a portion of my toast? Not sure if this is how they do things here? Or if the waitress gypped me on purpose? But I did not like it. I mean for a place called "Toast" why would they cheap out on my toast?! Dang! I would have given 5 stars if not for this annoying thing. Because I loved everything, and did not even mind paying the enormous bill. My husband tried the chicken and waffles which was huge and amazing. And my daughter ordered.the goat cheese burger which was absolutely scrumptious! We will come back again, but next time I'm going to ask the waitress to bring me my full amount of toast and not just half a portion.

Yelp
I was so happy to find this cafe! It was a fluke, really, that I ever came across it since I don't ever travel this way, so I was quite surprised. They have a large menu to serve from and they give you BIG portions. The service was quick and efficient; the decor, pleasing, and the food was delicious! I had their homemade corned beef and I was in heaven (it's one of my favorite dishes for breakfast). They do have a bar too, so if you'd like alcohol with your meal then you are all set!

Yelp
This is a cute, vibrant brunch spot in South Bay! They have lots of options for people with dietary restrictions, pets are allowed, lots of space for large parties, I had a great time here! The host and waiters were quick, attentive, and friendly. We had large party of 7 with a dog and they even made grilled chicken for our dog! I love that they had some healthier and lighter breakfast options for those a little more health conscious. Great portions, delicious food!

Yelp
Wow, this place is amazing, so good. Our waitress, Jasmin, wow, she is such a sweetheart and so knowledgeable and recommends the best. Between vegetarians and meat eaters, we got our tummy full. Recommend 100%

Yelp
Finally! This place is now open for dinner! We went Saturday (yesterday) for the first time since they've opened for dinner last week, and the food was delicious! In the morning their breakfast is crack'n, this place has never failed on the taste, quality and option for sure! Last night we went and had appetizer, main course and then dessert. All of it was great, the Brussel sprouts were very tasty & I loved that lemon tang! I ordered their half roasted chicken and dare I say it, their chicken is better than a few 5 -star restaurants locally! #facts Husband had the trip-tip sandwich with fries & he loved his sandwich, the bread was perfectly toasted and the fries were crisped to perfection! Give this local business some love people and head there for dinner as there was us and one other group eating there, they're phenomenal in service, taste, quality of food and overall politeness! The dessert we had was the chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream, who can go wrong with chocolate ‍‍ thank you toast our experience was beautiful!

Yelp
A cute breakfast spot that seems to be pretty popular. We arrived around 9 am and they were already pretty busy, but thankfully no wait. We were seated on the outside patio which is covered but doesnt feel stuffy inside. The staff, a busser, was quick to bring us waters and offered coffee. We additionally were able to order mimosas and an iced coffee. The mimosa was good, not too strong and the iced vanilla coffee was alright. I wasnt asked if whipped cream was okay but that's neither here nor there. The menu is extensive with various options for just about everyone. My dad enjoyed the fried steak and my sister liked the french toast. I ordered the chorizo skillet with a side of sourdough. Over all the flavor was good but I wish it had more chorizo in the dish. It seemed to have maybe been half a ladle full compared to the rest of the ingredients. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Delightful atmosphere and even better food! Service was fast and friendly. Karina is outstanding! We were impressed and will definitely be back.

Yelp
I decided to try this popular breakfast spot on the off skirts of San Jose. There is inside and outside seating at this standard diner. At the counter, the servers immediately engaged me and were extremely jovial and friendly, although it took a while to get my check. I ordered the crab Benedict, and my waiter suggested adding avocado, which I did. The crab was semi fresh, but the eggs were cooked properly. The avocado was a good addition. True to the restaurant's name, the Benedict was on toast rather than a muffin. But the toast seemed hard to cut and a little burnt. The hash browns were a bit mushy, and I got a heaping mound of it. I like my browns with more texture. I wanted to try the French toast, but they did not offer it as a side. Overall, a mediocre experience.

Yelp
I found this little spot by chance. It's cute and cozy. Indoor and Outdoor seating is available and it's good for families. The service was fast. Food was pretty good with large portions and staff were super friendly! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
My wife & I dined in on a Saturday morning around 9:30. There was plenty of seating both inside the restaurant as well as the outdoor patio. As the host lead us to our table, I was amazed at the size of the portions from the patrons at the adjoining tables. After perusing the menu, I ordered the house made corned beef hash and eggs (with wheat toast), while my wife chose the chile verde and eggs (with corn tortillas). When our food arrived, we saw that our plates were filled to the edges. My corned beef was very tasty (definitely freshly prepared and not from a can), while my wife dug into her meal. While we thoroughly enjoyed our food, we were good and asked for to-go containers and took half of our meals home (which was just as good the next day). By the time we paid our bill, the restaurant was filled (both inside and out), and we passed several people waiting outside for a table. If you don't get in before 10:00 AM, be prepared to wait a bit to get seated. Come early if you can. In addition, this place is located in a shopping center with its own parking lot, which is a big plus.

Yelp
Thank goodness for being able to join the waitlist via Yelp! Came here on a Saturday morning around 10:30 am, party of 3 and was seated within 20 minutes. Staff is friendly, menu offers a variety of different breakfast options as well as drink options to choose from! My friends and I all ordered the crab benedict and enjoyed it, we would definitely come back to try more of their menu items. There is ample parking.

Yelp
Very cute place. Homie comfortable feeling. Great service!! We had a chorizo skillet. Delicious. The poached eggs were perfect. The potatoes were delicious and a little bit of zip from some jalapeno wonderful salsa all around the great meal. A bit more Chorizo please

Yelp
Pretty decent brunch place with adequate portions for the price. Around $20 for the entrees but definitely shareable for two people. They have mini meals for around $12 on the weekday. Small tighter parking lot but has spaces, inside is sort of like a cozy cabin diner aesthetic and it's more casual. We got seated pretty quick even though tables were limited. I got the mini plate with bread hashbrown, egg, and sausages. The food is on the blander side but they offer salt and pepper on the side. Solid portion, the hashbrowns weren't crispy but also not greasy. Scrambled eggs weren't dry, sausages were pretty neutral tasting. I wish they were juicier. The bread was surprisingly the best part, I got the sourdough and to my surprise they butter and toast it for you so best eaten fresh. Also tried a bite of the steak and eggs, they cooked it to a proper medium texture but its definitely a leaner/cheaper cut and needs salt/pepper. The peach bellini mimosa was decently strong and well made. The coffee cost 4.99 unlimited refill. Overall, the meal can add up but are good portions of entrees with wholesome meals.

Yelp
I usually come here for brunch, but when I found out they're open for dinner service, I had to check it out! My partner and I came by on Friday evening around 6pm. We were seated quickly and well taken care of by Cesar! We got the: - brussel sprouts - crab cake sandwich - spare ribs - chocolate lava cake Everything was absolutely delicious, along with the two drinks we got. The vibe is also super chill and I would bring a bigger party here for a celebration. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying everything else on their menus!!

Yelp
I came to Toast at 11:30 AM on a sunny Sunday. Looks like other people had similar plans as my table of 2 had a 40 minute wait. Food: I ordered the California Omelette with hashbrowns and white bread. In addition, I ordered the mimosa flight. The omelette and hashbrown portions were delicious and huge, and I barely finished half the plate. They made great leftovers for later. The mimosa flight was a fun experience. The best to worst flavors personally were peach, pineapple, orange and cucumber. If I was to come back, I would only order the peach mimosa now that I have a favorite. Service: I had great service. When my food arrived, the runners left promptly. However my actual server noticed they had forgotten my bread and handled the situation promptly. Ambiance: I love how the patio is dog friendly and had warmers. My back was toasty and enjoyed the time at Toast. I did realize some dogs were very aggressive and thought it may be a safety issue. Overall, I really enjoyed Toast and will be back.

Yelp
Came here for my first time. Great indoor and outdoor seating. Large parking lot so no problems with parking. The staff were friendly as well, which was nice. I highly recommend adding your party to their online wait list through Yelp (we were a party of 6 and I added us at 10:30 am and we got seating around 11:30 am, so 1 hour later & we got there and checked in by 11 am). The food was good. We got 1 pancake, a vegetable skillet, and a California Benedict. The pancake and skillet were great; the pancake was nice and fluffy. The Benedict was ok - I think they forgot to make it with our original order and it came 10 min later after everyone else's food arrived and the eggs were not fully cooked which made it hard for me to eat it as the egg whites were still clear and gooey, unfortunately. Maybe that was a one off type of thing, but most likely won't be ordering that again. Maybe next time it will be a better experience. They also don't have an espresso machine, so no lattes or espressos. The ambiance is nice - full of people and it was definitely warm and welcoming. 1 downside is that they only have 1 restroom (for employees and guests) and there's always a long line. I would try this place again and hopefully the food experience will be better!

Yelp
Hands down to this spot! The food was sooo delicious and authentic! Every plate we had a home made taste. The service was on point too from the host to our waitress Ana. Ana had great recommendations and was very attentive! Chilaquiles were a perfect blend of flavors and the spicy level was just right. It was missing more chorizo. Carnitas skillet had a good flavor, it had more of a spicy. It was missing more of carnitas. Chicken n waffles, the chicken was cooked to perfection and it was a good portion of protein! The waffle was a little dry, besides that it was delicious. We had the super-Michelada with the shrimp, it was over priced for a 12oz mason jar, it was missing something the Michelada drink. But let me tell you the shrimps on top were FIRE sooooo delicious and the flavor doesn't compare to any other. The shrimp placed on top of the Michelada was cooked and it hit the spot! Highly recommend this brunch spot! Great ambience! Don't miss out.

Yelp
We got here at around 9am on Sunday, luckily there was no wait. We were seated immediately, we asked to move tables since our table was too closed to the bathroom. The server was not too happy with our request, but they did move us. I ordered the fresh garden skillet. I wish it would have been served in a skillet, the veggies were undercooked, and the potatoes were cold. I was hungry so I didn't want to find my server, since once she brought our food she was busy I guess because she didn't come to check up on us. My husbands omelet was so tasty and the hash browns were crunchy and perfect. The chocolate chip pancakes were so good not too sweet. Overall the service was bad, it go a little busy once we were getting ready to leave, so before that I don't understand why our server didn't come back. We had to stop a lady to get us more water and coffee. The drive was long to try this place, so we will not be back

Yelp
Cute small brunch spot! We were looking for a brunch place to eat at on a Sunday and a lot of places had very long waits, some restaurants had over an hour wait during brunch. We went on Yelp to look for more brunch places in the area we were in and saw that Toast had a lot of great reviews! So I called to see if they had a wait. Luckily for us, there was no wait, so we headed over. Once we got there, we were sat down right away! It was a very cold day that day. So of course we wanted to sit inside. Even when we sat inside, it was actually still pretty cold inside and I'm just glad that we weren't sitting next to the door since there would always be a bit of a draft when the door opened. My partner ordered the Ham, Bacon, and Eggs plate and I ordered the French Toast Combo. Our food actually came out pretty quick and we were excited to try everything because it looked very good! My partner's food was good, nothing special. My French Toast was really good! Very soft flavorful! We haven't been back only because we aren't in Willow Glen too often, but we would definitely come back if we're in the area again!

Yelp
About a 20 minute wait on Sunday at 10AM. Not bad for a popular brunch spot. Nice flower decorations around the restaurant. Warm heaters to protect you from the cold. Ordered the Lump Crab Benedict ($21.99). Typically, restaurants disappoint me with the amount of crab they include in crab dishes, but I was pleasantly surprised this time. There was actually a healthy serving of crab in this benedict. Granted the benedict itself is pretty small, but the ratio of crab to egg was just right for me. The egg is just modestly runny - you won't get a fun video, haha. Was a little uncomfortable with the number of times different waiters/waitresses asked whether I wanted drinks. Probably at least 4 times when we only wanted water.

Yelp
Make sure to join the Yelp waitlist! My friend and I joined around 12pm and got seated at 12:30pm on MLK day; they were quite busy but they have a pretty large space with seating inside and outside. I got their Classic Benedict with hashbrowns; they made the hashbrowns crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! My friend got a screwdriver and the Smoked Salmon Toast which came with fruit. Overall, we enjoyed our meal but there wasn't anything memorable.
google avatar

Mitzy M.

Yelp
I had heard great things about this place (via Yelp) and had high hopes on a warm Sunday afternoon, and was pretty disappointed. We were sat immediately outside (thank you Yelp for letting us join the wait list ahead of time!) We were given our beverages right away, however the coffee was luke warm, which was unfortunate with the slight chill outside. Our orders were taken shortly after and we had to flag someone down to fill our coffees, again not that great and not hot enough for our liking (and my husband does not like his coffee hot, so that's saying something). I ordered the breakfast quesadilla and it was super yummy with a side of homestyle potatoes. The waiter came by to check how our food was a few minutes in, but it took some time for us to get the bill, and by then we were over the need for our beverages to be refilled, just wanted to go home. Would give them another chance if the opportunity arose, but not going to be running back.

Samantha Q.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Their addition of chorizo and queso fresco was a cherry on top. Overall this spot is smack af Servers are always hospitable and knowledgeable about the food and drinks they serve. Ana was so nice and attentive during our time here Ambiance was great! Noise levels were considerate and tables were spaced apart reasonably Overall a very good experience every time I've been here. I look forward to coming back every time.

Yelp
Horrible customer service the food especially at dinner was horrible cold food and very overpriced they need a chef

Yelp
The location is inside a small shopping complex with ample parking. Went on Thurday around 11AM and were seated quickly. The location itself is on the smaller side. Service was great throu and throu. I got the chilaquiles rojo with added steak to it. It was the best decision I made all day. Meat was perfect temp and cook. The tortillas were nice and soft from the sauce but still maintained a good crunch to them. Will for sure be back to eat again.

Yelp
Weekend foot traffic here is no joke here, folks. I would say use the yelp reservation feature to join the waitlist before heading out.. but the system is just not built or used properly... and it shows. I reserved my spot in line before heading over as the wait time listed was more than an hour. But by the time I showed up they said I got kicked off the list because I didn't show up in time even though I didn't receive any type of notification. Honestly, I'd just call ahead in the future. Despite the disheartening situation with the reservation feature / host station, when we were finally seated, the food, drinks and excellent service with the wait staff turned the whole situation around. The food was delicious. Every single bite was full of flavor and the portions were just the right amount. You definitely won't be leaving hungry! Based off of what we ordered, here's my recommendation: -Steak Benedict: The steak is cooked to perfection. It was tender, juicy and full of flavor. The combination of the red onions, salsa and hollandaise atop a beautifully grilled sour baguette was just *chef's kiss* Every bite was truly as delicious and flavorful as the first. -Nutella French toast. No need for syrup with these babies because DANG are they sweet... but honestly, its in the best possible way. My only recommendation would be to get the fresh fruit on the site to avoid the soggy aftermath that we ended up with. (Still tasty as can be, though!) -Iced Caramel Coffee. Freshly brewed. Extremely flavorful. An amazing blend of bold and sweet. Honestly, the perfect compliment to any savory breakfast dish you order. Not bad for the first go-round. Looking forward to future visits and further exploration of this FABULOUS menu.

Yelp
Another successful Yelp search for brunch! Location at a Safeway complex means no problems with parking on a Sunday for brunch with your rental van. We had a table for 8 set-up at the patio without any reservations. Service was fast and servers were constantly checking up on us topping our waters and organic coffees as needed. I got a fruit bowl while my wife got the Very Berry Waffle. 5 out of 5. Do come here if you're in the San Jose area.

Yelp
Well... the food is mediocre at best...the omelette and the scrambled eggs overcooked...believe me there is a way to make them better....the sausage.. I recommend getting a tastier one...change vendors... very dry and greasy ...the Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Bad idea...not sure if the cooking process makes them hard and chewy ... but could not eat them ... I suggest Doing cinnamon something, everyone has one.... This is not it...oh and a side of salsa! 3.50!! Wtf... seriously? I get it's a business... but you already increased the prices... blaming covid... at least make sure the food is actually good a side note the service was amazing !!

Yelp
This was my first time here. I called in advance to make RSVP. The waitress called me the day of to confirm. I ordered California Benedict, Fresh Garden Skillet, and Waffle combo. To my surprise the California Benedict came with bacon. Isn't it usually ham??? The bacon was surprisingly yummy. It was slightly crispy, chewy, very nice flavor and texture. The bacon and poached eggs sat on top of a sliced piece of bread (vs English muffin). It came with crispy hash brown. The portion was kind of small. It only had one set of poached eggs and bacon. Veggie skillet came with lots veggies. They tasted very fresh. The waffle came with bacon and egg to your liking. Overall it was a good experience.

Yelp
After reading so many great reviews about this place on Yelp I just had to try them out. I ordered their chicken fried steak and eggs with the home fries which comes with your choice of bread, I opted for the English muffins. The rundowns: my eggs were cooked perfectly and paired well with my English muffin. The chicken fried steak came smothered in gravy and was also quite good. The potatoes we're supposed to come with peppers and onions unfortunately I only got two peppers and one onion on my plate. The potatoes were covered in seasoning however were extremely bland, I added salt to give them some flavor. 2 stars for the potatoes. The employees were nice and all looked happy and were joking around with each other.

Yelp
I made a reservation for 7 for my girlfriend's birthday celebration and the process was smooth and easy! Service was good considering how busy the place was and our servers were always nice and accommodating! Food came out quickly and the drinks and food were both pretty tasty! Inside and outside seating both had cute decor.
google avatar

Theresa L.

Yelp
Food was ok considering we drove an hour after reading all the rave reviews. I: California Benedict with not so crispy home potatoes as I requested. He: The corned beef hash with hash browns. She: Nutella stuffed French Toast. Unfortunately we all were not impressed. Service was the best of all, and the ambience was chill with a lot of table chatter. Thank goodness we opted for a quick mall run to the mall to make the trip worthwhile. Not sure if we would return, especially because it's so far, because all of our pallets were not pleased. I give this place 1 yum up.

Yelp
We were in town for the Niner Game and were looking for a good brunch spot. Toast Cafe had great reviews & looked like exactly what we were looking for!! I'm so happy we came here because it was fire!! My daughter ordered the Chile Verde Breakfast Plate. She got her eggs over medium and had tortillas instead of toast. She absolutely loved it! She said it was so good!! I split the Carnitas Skillet with my man . That was bomb!! We also shared biscuits and gravy. So much food we had leftovers. We all enjoyed our meal. We also had a super shrimp michelada . Loved!! Menu is amazing there is so many yummy options to choose from. Love the drinks . And all the employees have been friendly & helpful. This is definitely are new spot for when we're in town!!

Yelp
Been here a few times, but my last time I went here for a work brunch. Everything was made fresh, even the orange juice. The staff are super friendly and attentive. My favorite is the French toast. So fluffy! Ask for their house salsa if you order savory. I loved the patio seating as it was perfect for a nice sunny day. Lots of parking available in the lot. Def recommend for brunch!

Yelp
This is my first time coming here since they added the patio. We waited 20 minutes to be sat on a Sunday (be prepared to wait). Service was prompt and efficient but staff seemed overworked/overwhelmed. Patio is nice and has heaters throughout but somehow it was still pretty cold out there. I ordered two eggs, hash browns well done (I emphasized the well done on both sides) and a single chocolate chip pancake. The hash browns were the lightest I've ever received, barely even cooked. How the food runner could read the modification on the ticket and still bring it out to me like that was highly disappointing. The chocolate chip pancake was all that was good. My family just thought the food was okay overall. My sister was disappointed in her avocado toast (there was nothing unique about it and I joked that I could've made it for her at home). It felt like they just wanted to turn the table; very rushed atmosphere. I don't think we will visit again, unfortunately.

Yelp
We really like toast for brunch. Convenient location and awesome feature where we can join the wait list on our phones with Yelp! The place is always packed! So be warned. But it's great home style and Mexican brunch - indoor/outdoor bustling seating and a great experience worth trying.

Yelp
We really enjoy this place, the chilaquiles are really good. Drinks are great also, service is a little slow and the place is overall very relaxing.

It was a spontaneous find, and we were lucky to find a spot very quickly. I loved everything about this place: the ambiance, the service, the food. The house coffee was great, too. Our server was so helpful and nice; she happily customized our order. The food was so good, especially the South of the Border omelette. It was love at first bite. We also simply loved the French toast - it was so fluffy and fresh. Great experience overall. Honestly, this is a new regular breakfast/brunch spot for me.

Yelp
Toast Cafe | Brunch | San Jose | $110 A local brunch spot that I'd definitely come back to. A bit pricy but I left feeling very full of #goodeats They don't use English muffins for their Benedict's and opt for toast instead + it's overloaded with toppings so it might as well be a scramble. Good if you want a ton of food, bad if you specifically were looking or a Benedict. I'd definitely sub any sides for the crunchy potatoes tho, they're actually Service was great, they stop by often to check on us and we're pretty quick to get us food and bring the bill. I really like that this place is a cute brunch spot but I'd opt to sit inside next time. There's a bunch of flies in the area and we spent a lot of time waving them away. Yelp
Food was ass and customer service was even worse. This place kinda of fell off. Dude messed up my order forgot my toast, gave no utensils we had to get up and ask and gave us some smart ass/ attitude response when we asked for our check.

Yelp
I've been to Toast a few times and it's always good. It's not the most aesthetic restaurant but the food is consistently delicious and the drinks are as well. This time I came with a group of friends on a Sunday around 130. I used the Yelp waitlist and we were seated almost immediately after arriving. I usually get their classic eggs Benedict, which are great, but got a waffle combo instead. The waffle was really good but the rest of the combo, the bacon and eggs, were just okay. The rest of the party also enjoyed their food.

Yelp
Tried this place this past weekend. It was okay. I feel like the food could had been better. As well as their drinks. The Michelada I had was a little plain. I probably wouldn't be back. Service though was good. Wait wasn't as bad either. I feel people visit more because of the atmosphere.

Yelp
Finally got to try this brunch spot! This place is poppin! There was a 75 min wait on Sunday, but luckily I joined ahead of time on their Yelp waitlist. Food was amazing! The pancakes were not too sweet and it had actual Cinnamon Toast Crunch in it! Highly recommend their chilaquiles, super flavorful with a hint of spice! I'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Like $17 for the breakfast toast that I could have made better at home. Literally nothing special, extremely basic food. The server barely spoke English. Overrated.

Yelp
Went to breakfast while we were visiting San Jose. The breakfast was ok but the service was not great. The inside of the restaurant was nice and clean.

Yelp
My brother found this spot online and wanted to give it a try. The service was especially slow. It was a Sunday morning, and it seemed like they were very chaotic with managing their wait line. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Toast. It came with two pieces of salmon with toast, but one of them was put very messily, so it was hard to enjoy/cut. The Banana French toast was very delicious. I would come back on a non-busy day, and their food is just some nice brunch food!

Yelp
Came on Sunday around 1230 and waited about 20-30 min to be seated, not bad. Unfortunately, service was seriously lacking. 20 min after the waiter took our order, he came back to say the kitchen lost the order and he needed to re take it. You might think our order got pushed to the front of the line, nope we waited another 20 min for food. By the time the food came, we were overly hungry and disappointed. I got the carnivore omelette with hash browns and toast. He got the chicken fried steak with hash browns and a pancake. Carnivore omelette had lots of meat, but eggs were overcooked and lacked flavor. Not fluffy, flat folded omelette. One slice of toast? Hash browns were delicious. Thumbs up on the chicken fried steak as well. Price was on the high side for what you get.
