This is my second time visiting Toast on Lenox but my first time at this location. One thing you need to know before coming here is that you can expect to valet your car (which is $10 cash or $11 if you are doing CashApp). There is no street parking nearby; if you do by some miracle find street parking, you will definitely be walking a little ways. I came on a Friday morning around 10:30am. Upon entering, I was asked if I had a reservation. I didn't but luckily that didn't stop us from being seated immediately. With that said, I recommend making reservations because it could be hit or miss, crowd wise. Although we were seated immediately, I noticed that the restaurant was pretty much full.
Food: I ordered the Lenox Ave Breakfast, which is customizable. My picks were scrambled eggs, veggie sausage and collard greens - this meal also comes with a honey buttered biscuit. The collard greens (which have smoked turkey) were my favorite part of the meal. I don't usually like "vinegary" greens but they didn't overdo it. And that biscuit was everything! Hubs wanted fish and grits but didn't want anything fried so they let him sub out fried fish for salmon. I tried his food and the crawfish sauce that comes on the grits is SO GOOD! As far as drinks, we just wanted water but were asked if we wanted bottled, as the tap water is not filtered. We ordered bottled water (which to our delight was alkaline). Plain and simple - the food is 10/10!! I felt this way about the other location, too, so I guess they're pretty consistent across the board.
Service: The hostess was polite and, as mentioned earlier, seated us promptly. Our waitress was also very friendly and attentive. No complaints here!
Cons:
a) Automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill. It's not that our waitress didn't deserve it but what if she sucked, right ??? I hate this new trend of automatic gratuity (for parties less than 5 or 6) but whatever.
b) Having to valet park my car on a Friday morning is kind of annoying but I can understand based on this location. And the fact that it's $10 didn't exactly make me smile.
c) Wasn't expecting to have to order bottled water.
Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant. It's definitely one of those Atlanta "must-go" spots, especially for out-of-towners.
