"This long-time downtown chop house inside the Westin Book Cadillac is already famous for its dry-aged ribeyes, filet mignon, and its date-worthy Porterhouse for two. TL;DR Popular spot. Basic design. Reasonably priced. Street parking. Location: There was street parking right outside the restaurant, which was easy to find. There was quite a bit of people there, mostly university students it seemed. It was a basic layout with touches of style like the trim on the walls. Food: I purchased the "Country Skillet" ($16.99+tax) and the flavour was okay but somehow the potatoes were lukewarm. Ultimately, If I'm in the area then I would probably go back to try another dish. Nothing really stood out but good enough to give it another try

When we got to our table, the chair was wet from the last customer - so not a great start Ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and bruschetta eggs Benedict. The holdaise sauce was too thick and tasteless, and the potato were burnt and not very good. The smoked salmon did not taste very good either. The waiter was nice, but when we went up to pay, they tried to charge us $180 for our breakfast due to some mix up with another table. Overall, not a great experience. I will not be coming back.

Google
It was our first time trying this place and we had a great experience. We called in to make a reservation for 8, and they accommodated us with no issue. The waitresses were very friendly and took our order promptly. We had ordered a variety of items including the hungry man special and the breakfast ciabatta. The food did not take long to arrive despite the whole restaurant being packed. In addition, the portion sizes were large and well worth its price. The breakfast ciabatta was delicious, but for the hungry man special, the house potatoes were not as crispy compared to other restaurants. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a good breakfast/ brunch, but I would call in advance as the restaurant gets filled quickly.

Google
The best breakfast/lunch in Windsor in my opinion. Very friendly staff, wait for food wasn't very long, food is always delicious, cost is reasonable. The only trouble with Toast is that you might need to wait to get a table. They're so well liked that they're always pretty much full.

First time at Toast, and I wasn’t impressed. We called ahead to ask if it was busy and were told there was no wait, but when we arrived 10 minutes later, we had to wait outside in the rain for 25 minutes. The owner, a genuinely sweet man, apologized and tried to help, which is the only reason I didn’t give a one-star rating. However, the servers seemed hostile. They were busy, but it took too long to get menus, place our order, and get water. One server even left my sister’s cup empty after she spilled a small amount, ignoring it and walking away. As for the food, the French toast was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I had the chicken and waffles, which were okay — the chicken was dry, the breading fell off, and the waffle was soggy and lukewarm, though it had good flavor (about a 6.5/10). The other dishes, two skillets and an eggs Benedict, were decent. I wanted to rate higher because the owner was so friendly, but I just can’t.

Google
I've always liked this place and had good impressions on this restaurant but today I'm kind of disappointed. My boyfriend got 2 easy over eggs with his meal. Now that being said, 1 egg the whites were barely cooked and the other was over cooked. His bacon was undercooked. Now for me I got french toast with Nutella and bananas, they severely burnt my toast to the point I couldn't even finish my meal... my kids bacon was so overly cooked. I'm really disappointed as I spent almost 80 bucks on meals for my family

Google
Food was fricken amazing. If you’re in the area (or not) GO HERE!! Aya was honestly the best waitress I’ve ever had. Super sweet.

Owner was very hospitable and kind. Portions were great! It's a wonderful place to celebrate life. Coffee free refills. Really a good place to spend with people you care about.

Yelp
I've only been here twice but it blows me away every time. The quality of the food reminds me of a higher end coney island! We waited only 10 minutes on a busy Sunday morning but definitely make a reservation if you aren't patient. Seating is tight but the food is worth it. I love the eggs benedict- it had the perfect amount of hollandaise and the egg was perfectly runny! I wanted my potatoes crispy but the seasoning was good. The service was amazing too, I was asked if I was doing well like 5 times in the span of 5 minutes haha.

Yelp
A friend recommended we eat brunch here and we arrived around 11:30am with a 15 minute wait. Once seated we kindly greeted by our server. The staff is so sweet and the place is poppin! I ordered the Hungry Man Special which was yummy I loved how it came with pancakes. The pancakes were a bit chewier than expected compared to their fluffy look. My friend ordered the Eggs Benedict, Western skillet, and Country skillet which they all liked. My friend and I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Mimosa which was so yummy and barely alcoholic lol. The ice cream in it was so yummy.

Yelp
Waitress was super sweet and had great suggestions. Everything was delicious. Had the California Eggs Benedict and French Toast, both were great. One of our favorite meals on our trip

Yelp
We really enjoyed our brunch at TOAST. I got a mimosa with the lox and bagel and my husband got the Hungry Man meal. Everything was cooked perfectly and all food was delicious. Service was outstanding and we will certainly be back!

Yelp
I was staying in Windsor for the marathon and was searching for food near me after my run. Luckily we came upon TOAST. We we arrived we noticed how busy it was. (Always a good sign!) There are tons and tons of options to choose from and many drink options. After some careful consideration I finally decided on the breakfast poutine. It was perfect with the touch of Canada. Service was A+ as well.

Yelp
Delicious food and even though the restaurant was busy all of the servers were very attentive! If you are in the area this is the best breakfast or lunch spot

Yelp
Why 1 star this time? Let me share our experience. We were at Toast early 2 months ago and was pleased with the service, food, and ambiance. Gave them a great review that time. We visiting Windsor and decided to went back at Toasr for brunch on a Sunday and noticed the restaurant was busy, with people waiting outside. (That we are not sure for what establishment?) and we are not sure if I need to put my name on their lists , so we went inside. Upon entering, a old man told us to wait in line outside 'and say "why don't you wait outside' is the verbatim! without a friendly greeting or even a mention of estimated wait time. This rude behavior was disappointing and unacceptable. So we left and go to other breakfast place instead. Despite this, I might consider returning to Toast, if I we. overlook the poor customer service. Hope they will improve their customer service especially when they are busy and people waiting outside. So disappointed! Just wanted to share my experience. Will see the next time if they improve.

Yelp
Came to try the skillet. It wasn't even sizzling. The cheese wasn't melted. Disappointed in the food. Service was great. Waitresses were friendly and attentive. I came closer to 3pm, closing. Cooks probably stopped caring after the lunch rush. Would try again in the morning to see how it goes.

Yelp
Great breakfast place for a meal that won't break the bank! Absolutely loved the Western Skillet with scrambled eggs, peppers, cheese, and ham. Everything on the menu looked appetizing and affordable. Decor is a little dated but still a nice ambience. Great place for a cute breakfast date. Lots of seating, excellent service, and good eats.

Mr. S.

Yelp
Food was good. service was also good. The place was busy but the kitchen didn't keep us waiting long. open concept seating area lends itself to cafeteria style noise level. It was easy to hear someones conversation from across the room. A bit pricey for breakfast, but there were some good values on the menu. only 4 stars due to the lack of parking.

Yelp
The pancakes are incredible!! They're so fluffy and have great flavor. Also got the eggs which were decent. We went peak brunch time on a Saturday and there was quite a long line but it moved pretty quickly.

Yelp
What a Great place in so many ways. First, it's in a quaint cool little spot, easy to get to and extra parking on the street if needed. Second, The staff was incredible. Drove from ATL to Detroit for the Holidays, my wife and daughter learned that Canada was a bridge away and they wanted to experience another country, if only for a brief afternoon. We shared this story and the amazing ladies at Toast rolled out the red carpet. They showed them Loonies and Toonies and every denomination of paper money. Wonderful, beautiful people work here! Third, the Food. It was cool to look at presentation wise, and also delicious. The skillet, Lox and Bagel, our Daughter tried Poutine with a over light runny egg over the top.....OMG Awesome. Thank you Alisha and May! Forth, Expresso Martini's. Most bartender's get irritated when you order this drink because it's a bit o' work, not Jodi, nope, she loves it, so go get you one. Even if you live in Detroit, totally worth a trip over. Stop at Duty free and buy some things. Mario, Take care of these amazing people! Thank you Toast, for a wonderful memory.

Yelp
Came here for brunch this morning. Not too bad of a wait. The staff were nice and polite. We ordered French toast, eggs Benedict, and the pancake platter. We also ordered mimosas, WHICH WERE AMAZING!!!!!!! The food was good, especially the eggs Benedict. But the highlight, in my opinion, was the cast iron skillet pancakes! They barely even need syrup! You can taste the butter within the pancake. Sooooo satisfying to my taste buds!

Yelp
4.5 Stars Came during COVID and it was great that the neighbourhood closed the entire street down for outdoor dining. At brunch they have a two-sided menu with one side being breakfast and the other lunch. With kids, there were 8 of us, so I got to see (and taste) a lot of their breakfast options. Anyone coming from the GTA or many other areas will notice how inexpensive everything is on the menu as I don't think anything goes over $12 - maybe $13 for the steak and eggs. I love skillets and went with the one that had both bacon and sausage in it. I really enjoyed it and the eggs were perfect - in fact everyone at the table remarked how good their eggs were. Butter is probably the secret, but they were all also perfectly cooked. My wife and kids both went with crepes with Nutella and strawberries and banana. The crepes are very good and made in house, but only slight criticism would be it was likely plated a couple minutes before being served and were no longer hot. I also tried a friend's pancakes and they were literally the best I had in ages. Again, the secret being butter as they probably used a good share on the grill. My americano and later coffee were too weak which was a bit disappointing, especially as I would've been expecting better in the Italian district. Absolutely wonderful staff, including the owner who was out checking tables the whole time and seeing how we were.

Yelp
Everybody is kungfu dining, service is fast as lightening. Best eggs benny I've had in Windsor.

Yelp
On a visit to Canada, my husband and I wanted to find a breakfast place on a Saturday morning without too much of a wait. As you may know, that's a tall order...especially on a Saturday... Low and behold, we came upon TOAST!!!! This place was soo amazing, we were promptly seated once we entered, a server met with us right away and the food was served quite quickly. On top of that, the food was tasty, and just the right amount for breakfast. I loved this place and if I'm ever in this neck of the woods again, I will definitely be back. Check it out for a great breakfast experience that won't break the bank or leave you with a tummy ache :)

Yelp
Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing Value ($). Just go and thank me later......................

Yelp
There is always a line down the street for this place but I don't know why. The service was not great and the food was okay. The only benefit was the price, I was able to get breakfast for 3 people for $40. I am a huge fan of eggs Benedict but the hollandaise was creamy and not classically made which was disappointing. I had the hollandaise added to the breakfast poutine which I wish I hadn't done. My friend did get the Irish coffee which he enjoyed. Overall I would say basic breakfast, good for the price, nothing special, not worth the wait or poor service.

Yelp
Toast was the chosen brunch location for my friend's birthday after many glowing referrals. Due to COVID restrictions this was a pick-up only situation, which was totally fine. The service was very quick even though it was quite busy. The staff was quite friendly and and the pick up was smooth. The food itself was delicious. I tried the Western skillet and my friend got the egg white, spinach feta wrap - the portions were HUGE. I believe both meals came to $25.00 so averagely priced. It's a cute little brunch location that for sure lived up to it's reputation, I will for sure be returning.

Yelp
Very friendly and warm setting - great food and one place where eggs are made to perfection! Food was delicious -didn't take long to serve after they were ordered. We had called ahead to reserve and they had set up the table of our group. Server assigned to our table did well to make sure we were getting the right amount of attention. Price is very reasonable - this was my first time a d looking forward to going again.
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely my new favourite spot for breakfast and brunch (once I try their lunch I'm sure it will be a top contender as well)! The service was bar none the top I have ever encountered, and the family that runs it is always over accommodating in the best way. It was a busy Sunday morning when I went, and there was not a time during the meal that anyone's cup was less than half full. This is truly an exciting place to visit and the food is absolutely fantastic. I had the avocado toast with eggs over medium - one of the only places that knows how to cook a perfect made to order egg. The ingredients were fresh, the plates were appealing and the food was delicious. Everyone was happy and it was a great time! Truly blown away and will be back ASAP!!

Nairu M.

Yelp
Awesome brunch and awesome service from all the staff there. Even though we had group of 7 at 9am on Sunday morning, they managed to get us a table and service was quick, efficient and friendly.
google avatar

Tatiana R.

Yelp
Still sitting at the table, everything was fantastic! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and got a nice table by the window. Food was DELICIOUS and the service was great. I love that all the servers work as a team, constantly checking on us. Never had to wait too long for anything. If I didn't live in California, this would be my go-to breakfast spot!!

Yelp
Good Morning, good breakfast! A nice clean place with friendly service that was busy but not packed. I had the pancakes and eggs with Peameal bacon-all was delicious and cooked perfectly. The coffee is strong enough to wake you up but the weak coffee drinkers can still enjoy it. The wait staff made several rounds making sure everyone's coffee was full. This place is perfect for nice way to start the day.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
I want to start off by saying I'm not sure why there's such a low star rating, but I came here for the first time today and loved it! The place is pretty big inside and almost every single table was full at 11:15am. To start, the service was absolutely amazing. My water/coffee never went less than half full and every single employee had a smile on their face. Truly a wonderful experience without even considering the food! I ordered the fruit crepes with custard filling but omitted the whipped cream and sauce and they were so delicious! So yummy that I didn't even need to use the maple syrup. My boyfriend ordered the peameal and eggs breakfast and added on extra toast and an extra egg. Needless to say he left very satisfied and incredibly full haha! We had a great experience overall and will definitely be back. Their menu is pretty big and they offer lots of selections for breakfast or lunch. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. The two young girls that own it have done a great job and I hope their hard work pays off with even more customers and success in the future.

Yelp
AMAZING... amazing service and food. This is clearly a family owned business, operated with love and care. To support my sentiment, I wanted to share what pushed them into the Amazing category, I ordered the veggie skillet and when the order arrived it seemed heavy on the potatoes, but a little skimpy on the veggies. When the waitress checked in with us, I mentioned this and explained that I expected more veggies because I noticed another guest with a veggie loaded skillet and asked what they had ordered, so I knew for next time. She explained that she had a custom order and ordered extra veggies. She then offered to get me an extra side of veggies to add to my skillet. This put my meal over the top. I was also surprised that she didn't add the extra order to our bill. Every action by the staff here was done to ensure 100% satisfaction. It was well worth the walk and the wait. Also, try the vanilla iced coffee, it's delicious!
google avatar

Meg D.

Yelp
Not impressed. The waitress was wonderfully nice. But the food left much to be desired. I have literally made better avocado toast in my kitchen. It looked like they smashed an avocado left out overnight and then slapped it on some bread. The potatoes were flavorless as was the skillet my husband ordered.
google avatar

Andres D.

Yelp
Great service. Quick and on the money. Delicious classic toast breakfast. Eggs beni were also great.
google avatar

Nicolette S.

Yelp
TOAST has the best breakfast in Windsor. The California Benedict with home fries and an iced coffee is fantastic- I get it every time!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious delicious delicious!!! So good food friendly staff and fast service and good prices. What more do I need to say. Had avocado toast and crepes !!! Yumm yummm

Paul D.

Yelp
Without a doubt my favourite place in Windsor. I've been about 5 times and have never been disappointed. Their service is super friendly and fast, the foods amazing and the prices are unbeatable. They have a great menu with all the basics and some speciality items if you want anything different. Seriously you can't go wrong choosing toast.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food wonderful service be prepared it's going to be packed and that's for a great reason. Portion size is real nice. Don't go if you're in a rush. Food comes out hot and in a good turnover time (meaning you're not waiting forever for your order) friendly professional staff and the owner is very hands on making sure things are running smoothly and people are being served. I would def Cross the boarder just to come here for breakfast it would be worth the trip.
google avatar

Gianni Jasper D.

Yelp
Great place with a very relaxed and homey ambience. We got the western skillet and the california benedict eggs. Staff was very friendly, thoughtful and pleasant. Coffee was free flowing and everything was clean. Parking was also easy (just across the shop)

Yelp
This place used to have the best chicken & waffles in the city. Now it's mediocre. The chicken was soft on the inside and CRISPY on the outside. But now it's a soggy mess. The meat is no longer soft. The fried batter comes off like one soggy piece of skin. The chicken also looked like half a piece of chicken breast. Half. And then they cut THAT in half to give you two pieces of meat. The texture of the chicken is so drastically different from the several times I've ordered before that I can only come to the conclusion that I got yesterday's chicken & waffles: left in the fridge, taken out, placed in the rain, and then microwaved. It was gross. My girlfriend's chicken skillet came with probably 15 grams of chicken. Seriously. I keep track of my diet and can usually estimate food portions, and it looked like 15 grams. Before today they'd put a lot more. It's mostly potatoes now. There was so much flavor in the skillets before, now it just tastes like potatoes. Random note: The owner seated us himself. He interrupted his waitress and seated us. Strange... He's never done that before. I'm not sure if he thought we were someone else that he didn't like (do all Asians look alike?), but he didn't look too happy to be serving us. Before he'd have a huge smile on his face when serving us. I'm not sure what happened. I looked at everyone's food and they looked ok. I'm not sure if what we got was just bad, but we ordered our usual meals thinking they would be safe. I guess not. Check out my pictures. I usually take pictures of my food whenever I go out to eat, and there's a DRASTIC change between now and then. 3 pieces of crispy chicken vs 2 slices? A skillet full of flavor vs a skillet full of potatoes? I don't think we'll be coming here again. For chicken & waffles, I'd suggest going to New Center Eatery in Detroit. It'll take you another 5-10min of driving, but it's totally worth it.

Yelp
Visited Windsor and found this little gem. Great place to grab breakfast or brunch. Food was delicious, fresh and came out super fast. Our waitresses was super friendly and very attentive.

Toree R.

Yelp
Good restaurant but always busy. The service wasn't horrible but wouldn't say it was great either. Had a group of people and waited about 20 mins for someone to come and take our order. The food was good, prices aren't bad but if you don't make reservations.. you'll probably be standing at the door waiting.
google avatar

Sierra H.

Yelp
Quaint family owned restaurant, friendly staff amazing food. Very wide variety to choose from. The pancakes are homemade and full of flavor. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Lizzie L.

Yelp
I love this place for the my brunch. I have been there for a couple of times. The staffs are friendly and smilingly. The bruschetta Benedict is one of my favorites.

Yelp
First time going to this place it was simply amazing food and the customer service was very good . Both me and my girlfriend loved it would most likely go there aging . Also the prices were good

Yelp
I have eaten here twice now, and I wanted to make sure that the first time wasn't just a fluke. It wasn't. This restaurant has some of the most exemplary customer service out of any breakfast place I have been to (and I've been to them all in Windsor). My coffee cup was never empty, nor was my water glass. Even though they were lined up out the door, we didn't wait more than 10 minutes and greeted with a smile. The food is fantastic from what I have had and their selection makes it difficult to decide. You need to try this place!

Leon A.

Yelp
We walked in , and the place was packed however we were attended to very fast by the owner , and seated by the window, the prettiest table in the restaurant. Our coffee was never half full. The food tasted amazing , like a piece of heaven. Especially the chicken waffles. The marble flooring is cute. 10/10 would recommend. Best brunch in winsdor.
google avatar

Sue G.

Yelp
I compared toast to other brunch restaurants in the area. They are on the lower end in quality but if goes to show you that location is everything.

Josette A.

Yelp
Greek omelette! It was good but not the best. Pricey for breakfast, it was full of flavor
google avatar

Marissa J.

Yelp
Went here with my boyfriend for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. It is quite busy but we managed to get a table. There is a lot of variety on the menu. I went with the eggs Benedict made with smoked salmon instead of peameal bacon, and my boyfriend got the same thing. It was delicious and it came out quickly. The portions are not huge for what you pay, but it is very tasty. We also tried the dessert poutine which we did not care for but some might.

Yelp
Just had breakfast at Toast. Excellent service, food was very good, nice & clean atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

Yelp
Great food and tons to choose from. I really couldn't decide whether to have breakfast, pancakes or sandwich. I settled on a California Benny. Great choice although the home fries were practically raw when I asked for well done (didn't like that). Service is always excellent as I've been here a few times.

Yelp
So I've been coming over to Windsor quite a bit now to hang out with friends and to do some photography and to explore. One of the days I was going to hang out with a friend I decided to grab some breakfast before hand and asked a recommendation on a good place to try. She told me about this place and of coarse first thing I do start looking up reviews and the menu. I had a friend back here in the states that told me the food wasn't that great and not waste my time yet reading reviews and hearing otherwise that it was actually pretty good. When I came here I thought a little weird that when you walk in the front door to be seated you have to walk all the way to the back because the register is in the back part of the building. A little confused by that but hey every business runs differently. My waitress at me down to my table which was a little wobbly but that's because the floors they decide to use this weird stone kind of feel that should not be on the floor where you put tables. I looked over the menu and found a few different items that I want to try but I always usually stick with my first choice with a breakfast place traditionally French toast, eggs, and bacon. Most the time you can't go wrong with a meal like that and I feel of a place can go wrong with those three items they should not be in business. So they didn't have any type of soda or you know drink that I wanted so I stuck with water. I'm not much of coffee drinker or cappuccino drink or so sadly I didn't get to explore that part of the menu which seem to be pretty large. When my food came out it was nice and hot which of course is great headway to couple minutes for to cool down before I took my first bite. This was one the best breakfast as I've had since I live down in Kentucky. It was very simple but elegant at the same time. Plus the price of the meal cost me less than $10 American. I was very please with the service of my waitress also she was very helpful and very knowledgeable with the menu as I can tell if she was helping other customers in the area as she was explaining the menu. This would be a place I would highly recommend to my friends going over to Canda to try out. The only reason I won't give this place five stars is because of three things. 1 it took me forever to find a parking lot for me to parking to actually get to this restaurant to eat. 2 because I did not like the fact that I had to walk from the front to the back just to be seated. 3 because I was not a fan the floor that should not exist in a building like this where you have tables. But once again the food and service were top notch.
