Toasted Bagels & Coffee - Review - Bellevue - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Inside a quiet Bellevue food court is this fast-growing Mediterranean bagel shop that’s been popping up all over the Seattle area. The bagels are solid, particularly when stacked with things like burrata, turkey, or lemony lox. And they fill a gap in a neighborhood where good bagels are hard to find. The stand is pretty straightforward with a self-order tablet, but the food court setting leaves a lot to be desired. It’s best to take your food to go and casually stroll back to the office like you’ve just returned from a very important call. Food Rundown Lavender Honey Latte A little bit sweet from the honey, with more of the subtle essence of lavender than a floral smack in the face. Toasted Lox The addition of lemon zest and dill to this open-faced bagel with lox adds a difference-making kick. photo credit: Toasted Bagels & Coffee Turkey Pesto Peach This one’s a fun mix of flavors and a nice change of pace from the usual “burrata meets avocado toast” situation. Our only gripe is that the peaches aren’t super sweet, which we’ll chalk up to the unfortunate reality that it’s not peach season year-round." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Google
I had such a great experience at TOASTED. The bagels are perfectly fresh with a wonderful chewy texture, and the spreads are delicious without being overwhelming. The coffee pairs beautifully—smooth, bold, and not bitter. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels cozy yet modern, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. Definitely one of the best bagel and coffee spots around—I’ll be coming back often!

Calling your bagel place Toasted is the equivalent of calling your pizza place reheated, but they do it right here of toasting the bagels whole as the default. Holy crap are there pickled red onions here, making it a bit out or balance but easy to remove. The best thing here is the sweet bagels. Turkish inspired the combination of labneh, honey, dates or pears and crushed walnuts is astoundingly good and well balanced. The flight of open faced bagels is really cool, letting you try most of their menu in one go.

We read the good reviews and decided to give this place a try. We were kind of disappointed with the taste of the bagels though. They were bland and we didn’t like the dense bagels and the texture even after toasting. All I could taste with a bite was the doughy bagel. Will not go again.

I was super excited to try this place once I heard about it and came in the morning expecting fresh bagels but they were honestly dry and the everything bagel was really salty! The toppings overall were good and we tried the salmon bagel and the pesto turkey but definately room for improvement. I've lived in NY so know good bagels and these have so much potential to be better. I'm all for supporting a local business and hope they continue to work on their bagels and have more options like Gluten free.

I had a super juicy Italian pesto peach bagel. I really liked it. Service was also friendly and quick. Was a little confused when I walked in and everything was super dark but apparnetly it's sharing the location with another restaurant which was closed.

Google
Seriously so good. Its very pricey, but its really filling. One of the best bagels I've had, and its 100% Halal. Lattes were ok but the bagels are the main show

Google
Super cool place, friendly staff and fresh bagels. The menu is not your regular bagel options, every menu item has an interesting ingredient that you wouldn’t expect on a bagel but the flavor blends so well. If you like plain boring bagels, they got that too. It’s halal too so cleaner meat options. Their turkey pesto bagel was phenomenal, planning to come back to try more varieties.

Google
The Taste of Istanbul bagel is AMAZING! So many flavors that go so well together. The coffee was amazing as well. Staff is super friendly and happy to answer questions. And the bagels are fresh just like they advertise. They are busy but service is fast. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I came to the Bellevue location while visiting for a wedding. It's a stall inside a food court type set up. Order on an iPad and wait for your name to be called. You can watch the guys assembling the food right there. While I was ordering they were zesting a lemon and everything smelled incredible. My latte (honey cardamom) came out fast and hot. It was tasty and exactly what I was expecting. My bagel probably took about 5 minutes. It was moderately busy when I walked in. Waiting in line for a few minutes to place my order at the counter so I think it was a very reasonable time to wait for the bagel. It was DELICIOUS I'm not always a lox fan but it was speaking to me. Perfect choice. Lox was so fresh and not the overly "fishy" taste you can get sometimes. It is a STACKED situation that did require some deconstruction to eat. The lemon zest on the picked onion is definitely a tip I'm taking back to my own home cooking. Overall I would come back and would recommend to anyone looking for a bagel in the Seattle/bellevue area!

Yelp
I couldn't find it at first because I didn't realize it was in a building with a bunch of other food places!! It's nice if you go here with a lot of people because there's a lot of different cuisines. You order on kiosk and there's a lot of seating/free water. It wasn't busy at all on a weekday during lunch and it was quiet enough to chat. I ended up getting a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, salmon, cucumber, pickled onions, and olive oil. It's an okay bagel but I'm a bit biased since I love nyc bagels + tried a lot of them. It was a bit bland even the bagel itself? Maybe it's what I got on it but other places I've tried were better with the same things. I don't think it's worth for being $15+ and I don't get the hype with it in Seattle. I would rather go somewhere cheaper but if it's in the area I would still give it a try at any of the locations.

Yelp
I'd heard a lot about Toasted in Udistrict and since they opened up in Bellevue, I'd been meaning to give it a try. I tried the cheddar and jalapeño bagel with some pesto and sundried tomato cream cheese spread. They're also known for their open face sandwiches. The bagel was good but the cream cheese flavors were bomb. The service was a bit slow, considering it was a Saturday morning but they were really sweet and kind. The place is pretty small and has a couple of chairs. Definitely not anything very fancy!

Yelp
Super fun spot located in almost a cafeteria? I've heard great things about toasted and see it on social media all the time so I decided to try it for breakfast! We got the pear cinnamon, turkey pesto, and the mocha. I usually am a huge fan of anything pear and cinnamon so I was super excited for this but it didn't quite hit the spot for me personally. It was good, but not great. I was expecting the classic cinnamon pear flavor but I felt like the cream cheese was more on the savory side and didn't balance well with the toppings. The cinnamon and crushed walnuts were good but it was so piled on there that every bite resulted in walnuts spilling everywhere. Based on the picture online I expected the toppings to be a bit lighter but I'll never say no to extra, unless it makes the food significantly harder to eat. All that to say that it is not bad, but just wasn't something I think I'd go for again, 2.5/5. The turkey pesto was pretty good! Nice and toasted bagel and the pesto was not overwhelming! We got it without tomato but I think it would've been better with! 3.5/5! I definitely want to come back and try some of the other bagels and chai's!

Yelp
Bagels aren't bad but WAY overpriced add ons. $3 for cream cheese?! If I pay $1 extra for cucumber I expect more than 3 tiny slices.

Yelp
Great little spot in Bellevue! We stopped in for their grand opening, and then I came back again today! You order on a tablet, which is fine, but doesn't allow for customizations to their sandwich. I wanted to try the TOASTED LOX, but without tomato. Ended up doing a build your own instead when I realized you couldn't remove toppings with the order workflow. I ordered it toasted, it was not unfortunately. Still a good sandwich and they don't skimp on toppings or schmear! The latte was fine, I got the cardamom honey latte with oatmilk. It's a bit bitter, which is coming from burnt espresso imo. The location is in the food court within soma towers, so there's plenty of seating. But I live just down the street so I have ordered to go both times.

Yelp
Really happy to have a new bagel spot in Bellevue! Had a cardamom chai and shared the open face bagel flight which made a great breakfast. Each one I tried was really tasty and they had some toppings that I've never seen at other bagel shops so it was fun to try something new. I just wish we had the option to choose which type of bagel was used in the bagel flights (maybe you can in person, but it wasn't an option on the online/kiosk ordering) but I enjoyed and will be back.

Yelp
Great location and cute decor in the soma towers food court. I got the classic lox which was a very solid bagel sandwich. They give you the option of getting it toasted. I got it untoasted hoping they are baked fresh, but it was beginning to get dense and didn't have the contrast of crackly exterior and soft interior like you would get with a bagel fresh out of the oven. Still, the sandwich was flavorful and definitely a top contender for Bellevue downtown.

Yelp
Updating review after many more visits and I love this place! Always consistently good and easy ordering / pick up process (order online ahead of time). Honey lavender latte, vanilla cardamom chai, and turkey pesto sandwiches are my usual orders now. If I wanted less food then a sesame bagel with cucumber spread. SO good!

Yelp
TL;DR: Nope, this is not it. The bagels have a store-bought texture and taste. The bagel is very oily. Egg yolk is cooked dry. Service was slow; it took 8 minutes to get a bagel with no line even though all the ingredients appeared (or tasted) to be pre-cooked. Sorry, this has to be said even though they just opened in Bellevue (they do have a spot in Seattle). I'm disappointed that Toasted is a huge let down. The bagels taste like store bought bagels. The texture is just dry and powdery. Nothing like Hey Bagel, etc. I got a turkey and egg bagel. The turkey was massively oily. Weirdly the egg was too. The egg was hard boiled and sliced in half. The yolk was dry and powdery. When I ordered, there was no line. All the ingredient were pre cooked. Yet it took 8 minutes for me to get my order. So even though the food kinda tasted mid to bad, it wasn't convenient either. Now sure, I didn't try their unique spreads. However, if they can't get there basics right, this is nothing more than a novelty bagel shop with mid to subpar bagels, and slow service.

Yelp
I went to the Bellevue location and I was really excited to try their bagels because I am a huge bagel fan, but I was surprised how mediocre it was. The aesthetic, location, everything else was good and I love the concept for Toasted but the bagels unfortunately were not that good. I got the Toasted lox bagel and it was a very generous portion but after taking the first bite I felt kind of disappointed. The biggest issue was that the bagel was not fresh or warm and it tasted stale, I probably could've made something better at home. Also ingredient wise for the lox, everything tasted very basic and bland, there were way too many pickled onions which overpowered the other flavors. I do like the concept of having lemon zest on the lox, but it didn't do much to help the flavor considering everything else. Also, the bagel was pretty pricey for the quality, like for $15 per bagel I'd hope the bagel is fresh. That being said, I think Toasted has a very cool concept and I'm sure someone will be happy with their bagels, it just wasn't for me.

Yelp
Pretty decent! Nice bagels seem to be the latest fad around here and Toasted is arriving right on time. It's founded by UW grads and their first location is in the U-District and I'd been eyeing their store in the lead up to their opening but never quite made it there before they opened up this Bellevue Kiosk inside Soma Towers. Having breakfast service means service in the dark as the dining area lights seem to be on a timer that go on much later in the day. Ordering is done on a kiosk and while they specialize in bagel sandwiches with a Turkish flair, you can customize to your heart's content and this is why a big queue built up of people waiting to order. The choices are infinite and people hesitate to customize their bagel just right, oblivious to the people waiting behind and getting impatient. I was like "what's the deal with these indecisive people?" While waiting and silently judging, until it was my turn and there I was figuring out which bagel, schemas, toppings, etc that I wanted. I ended up panicking and just getting a standard breakfast sandwich but I would encourage people order on their own phones or go back to the old fashioned Blazing Bagel paper form so people don't make their orders until they're truly ready. The sandwich itself was fine and as I'm not a bagel connoisseur I would come back and try another one of the infinite combinations! I'l just be sure to plan it out before I approach the register.

Yelp
There's been construction around this area for sometime and so I think that really made parking difficult for me. I entered the parking structure and saw that it said free one hour parking and I didn't know that I still had to go to the pay stations to redeem it. We got to the place and the seating is shared by multiple tenants but so they were a bit dirty. We found the cleanest one and just swept the crumbs off of it. We ordered the turkey pesto, an open face flight -- taste of instanbul, toasted lox, date and labneh, and smoked 'cado -- and two coffees. Total was about $65. The owner was really nice in changing all of the plain bagels in the flight to everything bagel. I really only liked the turkey pesto and I think I just need to stick with more traditional flavors. The date and labneh was way too sweet and the lox was overly fishy. The onions were way too sour. Great presentation though. I think what moreso ruined it was the parking. Got citated and I called the number and they said they couldn't cancel it for me because there was no proof of when I entered the lot even though I had the time of which I ordered food and when I left. It was just a bad way to start the day.

Yelp
Service was okay. But the bagel was nasty. Pickled onions are okay but why slap a pound on each side of my bagel? And ALSO, why was there 1 1/4 inch layer of cream cheese? If this is a bagel shop why do they suck at bagels? Masala chai was good tho!

Yelp
We love bagels and have been on the hunt for some good bagels in the area! We decided to give this place a try this morning! It's a tiny spot, but it really surprised us! At first I was a little disappointed when I ordered my bagel they did not have raw onions, just pickled and crispy. But I just left it off. When I got my order I was so surprised that the bagel was very tender! It was not chewy and hard to eat. I loved it! We asked the gentleman there where they get their bagels and he said that today they were made at their own bakery! It was their first ones and will be rolling out to all their locations. Loved it and will be back! Also asked him if they could please add raw red onions to their menu options!

Yelp
A nice Turkish-themed bagel place in a well lit new food court. The bagel was chewy and fresh, and the Turkish coffee was fantastic. Fast and kind service.

Yelp
Recently opened in Bellevue! Great choice or bagels with savory and sweet options(like dates). Has a great decor and turkish vibe. Highly recommend. Coffee is also really good. The owner of the shop is very welcoming and sweet

Yelp
The service was very nice and helpful. Bagels are the real deal. ( I'm from NJ so I know). We got the flight with 2 lox, 1 labneh and 1 Avo. Dish coffee too!

Yelp
Would definitely come back for a coffee! The bagel sandwich menu looks great but I had already eaten. I'll have to come back for it another time. Hope they do well here since that spot has been empty so long! Hopefully they can eventually stay open a little longer too.

Yelp
Just tried Toasted - so Yummy! I had a Turkish coffee and a Taste of Istanbul bagel - wow!!!

Yelp
Heard good things about this place, wasn't what I was expecting. Bagels were okay nothing to write home about. Place is small.
