Toby's Estate Coffee Roasters Singapore

Tried this café that has both indoor seating and a lovely outdoor area by the river. Their Brekkie of Champion comes in a very big portion, so I’d recommend sharing if you have a smaller appetite. I really enjoyed their Smoked Salmon Rosti — the rosti was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired perfectly with the rich, savoury smoked salmon!! The flavours were well-balanced and satisfying without being too heavy! The matcha strawberry drink was a bit on the sweet side for me. Their prices are a little on the higher end, but overall the experience was still very pleasant. Nice atmosphere and good food!!

I visited Toby’s Estate recently and had a genuinely pleasant experience thanks to a new waiter, Joshua, tall Chinese guy, on his first day. Despite being new, he was warm, attentive, and made me feel very comfortable as a customer. His service really stood out and created a positive atmosphere — something I truly appreciate. The food was great as always. I had higher expectations for the coffee, and it did take quite a long time to arrive when handled by another staff member. That part of the experience could definitely be improved. But Joshua’s friendliness and professionalism really made my visit enjoyable, and I hope Toby’s Estate continues to nurture staff like him. He adds a lot of comfort and quality to the customer experience.

This cafe is nicely located along the Singapore River. Food was OK, nothing to shout about. Great that drinking was provided. The outdoor seatings could do with better maintenance as the tables were dirty and the chairs were rusty.

Truly impressive how consistently bad this experience was. The table was dirty when we sat down — not in a “missed a spot” way, but in a very obvious, clearly-visible way. Somehow, none of the staff seemed remotely concerned. We were two people. One dish arrived with one set of cutlery. The second dish arrived 30 minutes later. During that time, the staff watched us share food and utensils and still decided that extra cutlery was… optional. A bold service philosophy. The eggs benedict was overcooked, defeating the entire purpose of ordering eggs benedict. The taco was impressively bland — I didn’t know that was possible. It genuinely felt like there was no proper kitchen or chef behind the food. And for this experience, the bill came to $60+. That’s not “overpriced” — that’s comedy. Won’t be coming back.

Used to be one of my favourite breakfast spots, but sadly the quality has really dropped. The Eggs Benedict is way too expensive for what you get now. The eggs were overcooked, there was barely any sauce, and overall it just felt careless. The first photo was taken about a year ago — that was how good it used to be. The rest of the photos were from last week, and the difference is honestly quite disappointing. Really sad to see this decline, especially for a place I used to love coming to for breakfast.

Wonderful coffee ☕😃 Even with the proliferation of cafes around Singapore it is not easy to find really good coffee with complexity & depth. Toby's fulfills that requirement beautifully with there selection & preperation. On the food front - quite good too. I would come back for more. The eggs were rather perfectly poached, rosti was crunchy & salmon was light but not too salty. Beef bowl was well balanced and quite a textural delight :)

Scrumptious breakfast! Lovely outdoor European vibes; quality coffees by the river, with pedestrians walking, cycling, jogging, including pets creating a people-watching & conversations theme which gives you the relaxed & charming vibes. It can get hot and humid. Rather loud indoor seating from the lack of sound proofing materials.

Great food and coffee, but the service was disappointing. The service really left me frustrated. After we moved to the patio (and informed the staff), I wasn’t sure if our table number was updated with the order. We received our coffee quickly, but our meal didn’t arrive for over an hour. We had to check with the staff twice. The first time, the server looked up our order number but gave no feedback. The second time, we were finally told that our meal had been served to the wrong table. On the positive side, the latte gula was excellent with a rich flavor, and the chicken & avocado sandwich tasted fresh. However, the egg benedict with beef was overly salty.
