"Lunch was from Tocaya Organica. Two barrio tacos with vegan picadillo and queso fresco, and iced green tea. I usually love this place, but unfortunately these tacos were cold and the server was too nice to me, so I did not complain and ended up eating cold tacos."

So tasty, I'd definitely come back. The service was fast, and everybody was so attentive and nice. The place is clean and beautiful. I highly recommend!

Incredible Mexican food how it should really be. Truly authentic! The guacamole was incredible, just avocados, onions, cilantro and seasoning. Why do we Americans ruin it every time by adding junk to it. If you’re in DTLA, this is a great place to eat.

Google
Delicious food suiting a variety of dietary requirements. Yummy GF quesadilla with different options to make vegetarian. Staff friendly and willing to help with substitution recommendations. GF churro bites are so delicious! I don’t usually visit the same place more than once when traveling, but I did to come back here!

I loved the consistency of their tortillas. Their pico de gallo has too much cumin taste for me but the beans were so perfect . Ordered to go , they forgot my other orders of tortillas but other than that the presentation is nice .

This was the first restaurant we visited in a trip to LA, and it was everything we wanted and more. We are Mexican as well, so we were delighted to taste authentic food and drinks. The carne asada and fish tacos were amazing! The tortilla de maiz azul made it so yum. The aguas frescas tasted like my mom's. The guacamole and chips were divine. Although I don't normally get chicken tacos, someone is out party did, and I can arrest that their chicken adobada meat was delicious. The customer service wasunparalleled and everything you'd want as a customer. Kind, patient, informative. Finally, the decor is beautiful and the atmosphere chill. Everything was truly great! We wanted to go back every day, but didn't get a chance to. We definitely plan to return when back in LA.

Came here for dinner after a show. Great this place is open until 9pm. Fairly empty at 7 pm when we arrived so no waiting and we were served within 10 minutes. Everything tasted great. Gluten free options on the menu and I had no reaction. Parked on the street, 25 cents per 10 minutes.

Google
Good food but service was a bit slow. It took 1-2 minutes to be helped, as staff were busy fulfilling food delivery orders. I placed an order at the counter around 3:30 for a torta combo (side + agua Fresca). Was able to substitute vegan cheese at no additional cost. Agua Fresca was served immediately (resembles kombucha in taste profile) which I enjoyed. The side I ordered, plantain chips + guacamole, was served in 18 minutes. I thought the portion of chips was fairly generous, and both chips and guacamole were light on the salt. Torta was served at 21 minutes. It was a bit smaller than I expected, but flavor was great and it was served with a bright salsa. I wouldn’t say the torta on its own was worth the price but the combo was worth it in my opinion. Upper balcony was closed when I visited, seats had outlets available. Atmosphere was bright and airy (lots of natural light) and good music. If you have some time to spare, I would definitely pay a visit.

Google
The food is incredible, the restaurant is tastefully decorated. The guacamole with chips is among the best I have had. With a hint of lemon and the nutty and pomegranate flavour was a nice complement. Our favourite item were the Carne Asada tacos with blue corn. They were unreal. Healthy, fresh and flavourful food, what's not to love?

Yelp
First time at Tocaya Organica - I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the restaurant and flavors of the food. Service was decent as well. They also serve alcohol! I ordered the Sonora Bowl which consisted of carne asada tossed in tomatillo salsa, w/ purple potatoes, Mexican rice, grilled street corn, guacamole, pickled red onions & queso cotjia. It's definitely an elevated and more flavorful version of Chipotle that still tasted great after reheating next day. I would come back to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
Tocaya Organica in DTLA Is A okay. We stopped in for an impromptu lunch. With lunch on me we ordered, got some cups for water and found a nice table toward the further end of the restaurant. The decor was deep with earthiness, plant life, calming colors, bright natural light and plenty of tables + booths including bar seating. Loft upstairs that may just be for storage - doesn't seem to be open at any time (not at all while we were here). I always forget this organic healthier take on traditional Mexican dishes has dessert (try the churro bites - vegan and gluten free - does contain almonds and coconut) as well as cocktails (margaritas, paloma, sangria) and other beverages (wine, beer, agua fresca, tea + horchata) - somethings I might considered for a possible next time as I have enjoyed them at other locations. We order before two tables that got their order first... Which was wild. Felt like we waited forever after we saw those tables get served and dig in. We see you T.O. lol - Normally not that big of a deal, but we were pretty hungry for lunch. And I had really sold this place based on experiences at other Tocayas. Finally on the table - a Guiltless Burrito with adobo tofu (achiote chicken.- subbed out) and no cheese. Tocaya Organica has more than one kind of non-dairy cheese option normally, but they were completely out of both somehow. My guy had a huge Grilled Pineapple Al Pastor that he enjoyed okay. Flavors were solid, but not too strong/super impressionable. We had plenty of water between arriving, waiting and at the end of our meal I had to use the bathroom - it's a keypad combo so you'll need to ask up front. When I went up there was a line so I came up on the side and the girl who rang us up was just as friendly as she was when we arrived and gave it to me. They could consider printing it on the receipt. I know this is to cut down on non customers taking advantage - but this would be a good alternative. Luckily we weren't in a rush, just spending the afternoon together. Not sure I'd recommend for fast casual - but possibly for pick-up or delivery. Tocaya Organica has a massive assortment of burritos, bowls, salads, soups, tacos and tortas. Kid friendly menu. Cookies, churros and/or fruit for para postres y chips, guac, salsa or street corn for those munchables. Loads of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options or easy modifications. They also specialize in family style meals/trays including a stellar take and bake nacho kit I sometimes get at other locations as it can be done vegan. Q Tips: Street parking, lot or garage only here which isn't the best. Clean inside and directly outside. Enter or exit from Olive Street (main side). Exit only door onto 8th.

Yelp
I would have rated this place nicely for the sole reason of the nice ambience relaxed interior However I encountered a very rude lady wearing a grey hoodie working at the register Sadly she ruins the entire vibe experience of the place.

Yelp
Lunch at Tacaya with my work squad? Yes, please! We were lucky to snag a table for 10, although the staff didn't really help haha! Whether you're a vegan, or meat-lover, they got you covered here. Their food is fresh, flavorful, and fast enough for a 1-2 hour lunch break. We shared some starters - chip and salsa plus chips and queso. We were surprised to find out that their quesco is vegan and gluten-free. I had to do a double-take because it was that creamy and delicious. It was a crowd favorite, for sure! For my meal, I went with the Spicy Cilantro Vegan Chicken Bowl and it did not disappoint. The cilantro verde sauce made it bright and bold and the vegan chicken did not make me miss chicken at all. It's one of those meals that will make you feel light but energized - ideal for a midday lunch! For my drink, I got their Hibiscus Ginger Agua Fresca and it was perfectly balanced with hint of sweetness and a zing of finger, it was one of the best hibiscus drinks I ever had! Highly recommend grabbing one of those! I'm already planning my next visit - gotta have more of that Hibiscus Ginger Agua Fresca!

Yelp
The food was delicious and well seasoned. I checked in to get the free chips and salsa and loved the tomato purée. The chips were fresh tasting and very crunchy. I did the happy hour and got the street corn veganized. It was very spicy and had an intense flavor. I really enjoyed the vegan mozzarella that was substituted. The service was friendly and personable and the staff was very nice and helpful. The ambiance was relaxing considering we were in bustling downtown LA.

Yelp
It was a beautiful place with lovely service and vibe. The food was super yummy with amazing vegetarian options. Recommend it!

Yelp
Love this place. So good, great staff, you can taste the quality and the vibes are so chill and inviting.

Yelp
Food is great - when you can get it. I love the taco Tuesday deal from tocaya, but for some reason you can't order it online. I only have a 30 minute lunch so I need to call for pickup. These guys only answer about 20% of the time. Last time I went I expressed how hard it was to reach them, and today when I tried calling for 10 minutes, I got nothing. It doesn't ever seem super busy when I go to pick up my orders when they do take them, so I have no idea what's going on over there. I wish they were more responsive because the tacos are delish and so is the guacamole and you really can't beat their Tuesday special! Please answer the phones or put the taco Tuesday deal online :)

Yelp
We ordered delivery. It was handled very well. The woman who was delivering knew the building well. She was able to go up and actually hand delivered it to my floor. The DTLA area is very confusing. 7TH and FIG to be exactly. She got the order to us quickly. All items were accounted for except the salsa that we paid for. It was a huge order, so for everything to be accounted for was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. My order was the non vegan taco set: $13.35 (ish before tax and fees) 2 Birria tacos on blue corn shell (did not have a choice on the shell) Street Corn as a side Strawberry Basil Agua Fresca (HUGE) like a whole soup togo container huge Chips and queso was good but cheese was watery Worth every single dime (company dime)! Overall I'm coming back again and again.

Yelp
It's a really pretty spot, convenient location, however even though there was no customers there, all the tables were dirty, with food debris, water spilled etc. Food is still great, just please maintain the cleanliness of the tables please

Yelp
Awesome place their gluten free wraps are the best! Everything else is great as well I highly recommend.

Yelp
Would recommend coming here during happy hour and especially on taco Tuesdays! Great prices and great quality of food and drinks!

Yelp
I frequent other tocaya locations. But this one is very odd lol. Came here a couple times and the last 2 times I came they state they close at 9 pm and we came at 8 pm and they are already closing down looking like they want to close early and head home. It felt awkward like we were being rushed when we were here an hour before they close. I checked on their website hours and they say they close at 9. But they have all the chairs up and blocked off this section at 8 pm and turned off the music all by 8 pm. So weird to me.

Yelp
Came here with my coworker, who is plant based. Figured we'd have options for the both of us. I ordered the fajita chicken bowl and my coworker got a taco salad and some chips and guac. I ordered first but my food took longer to come out. They also didn't give me utensils so I couldn't eat right away. She told me she'd bring me some, but then got busy so I went up and got a fork myself. She came back a little later with a fork. The food was okay, it was really saucy and became mushy as I ate it. My coworker said her salad was okay. The best part was probably the chips and guac. Overall an okay place but nothing amazing or stand out.

Yelp
absolutely love this place and recommend it to everyone !! it's super clean & cute, I frequent this location a lot due to its close proximity to my work and Rosa is always super kind and helpful. they have lots of vegan options, I usually get their Spicy Cilantro Bowl [vegan] or Fajita Del Rey Bowl with vegan substitutions, of course with extra guacamole and chips on the side - it's like an upgraded version of Chipotle their portion sizes are super generous for the price, the bowls are always satisfying with enough left over for later they also have super cute alcoholic drinks which I have yet to try but will soon !!

Larry T.

Yelp
So good, 5 out of 5 stars. They deliver quality food every time without mistakes, weird that I have to bring up not making mistakes as a quality, but in the US where people don't take pride in their work (as you can see in my other reviews), it is a plus. Tocaya definitely takes pride in their food. A+++

Yelp
When you first walk into Tocaya the ambiance is chill and inviting. You are greeted with slots of greenery and spacious eating sections. We came with a work group of 6 people and we received our food quick. There are many vegan options, perfect for the vegetarians in our group. We had the Al pastor chicken tinga, tortilla soup, chicken fajita del Rey, quesaillitas, and the al pastor bowl with vegan chicken. Everyone was satisfied with the food. There are options to just sit and order straight from your table via QR code and bypass the traditional counter. If you work in Downtown LA, this is a good local you can walk to depending on your location.

Yelp
The food- is delicious, I tried the birria taco for the first time and it is sooo good. The flavor and seasonings are on point. We normally get the turkey picante on butter lettuce tacos, they're light, especially if you're looking for healthy option. Great Service- Gabriella and Janet the managers are delightful, they treated us like family. Also the food comes out fast and warm. Ambiance- is just right for lunch and dinner. The music and lighting are great for date night. One of the better Tocaya locations, glad they have it in downtown!

Yelp
Love the ambiance here!!! The service is great! Servers are all nice and I only had the churros since I was having a quick meet but yummy on the food! Great music too!

Yelp
I'm a regular at the DTLA location on Olive. My favorite entree lately has been the Grilled Pineapple Al Pastor Bowl with Adobo Tofu. I love the combination of flavors and nutritious aspects of the ingredients. I also enjoy their arbol salsa, which has just the right amount of heat and some incredible flavor. There are plenty of vegan options here! I also enjoy the agua frescas, especially cucumber lime. The staff are always very friendly and the service is quick so that I can get back to work on time. I'll continue to patronize this place!
google avatar

Benjamin R.

Yelp
Amazing tacos!!! I tried the combo where you get three different kinds for about $8! I was especially impressed with the guacamole taco but all tasted wonderful! It was also nice that the restaurant was very quiet and quick in making the food.

Susie K.

Yelp
Not your regular taco stand. Definitely a more upscale, healthier, west-side feel of a taco place. Taco Tuesdays are priced well so if you want to try, Tuesdays would be better for your wallet. Had my order to-go and it definitely felt fancy as each taco was placed carefully in its own container. Tried a burrito and wasn't really my jam bc it didn't feel heavy enough, but that might be me and my expectation. Overall, it's a safe and healthy option. Will be revisiting.

Michael C.

Yelp
Food was amazing! We got the quesadilla, chips and salsa, hibiscus agua fresca, and churro waffle bites. The staff was extremely accommodating. They put the quesadilla protein on the side at our request. Our friends got the gluten free burritos and they said the tortilla was the best they've tasted. They were impressed with how well the gluten free tortilla held form. Nice ambience. We had a few questions about the menu and Rosa was super helpful. Will be back!
google avatar

Coco P.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot to order from. The menu is solid for vegetarian or non, the food is flavorful and fresh. We normally get the tinga in either a torta, taco, or quesadilla. I've also tried some of the vegetarian options and they were pretty decent as well. The pricing seems fair to me overall
google avatar

Aaron M.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to get some chips, guacamole, and asada burrito! Sometimes I opt for one their bowls but usually I stick with the burrito. I love this location because it's very close to where I stay and it has a lot of seating compared to other locations I've been too. It's also very clean. Service is always good here. With the servers being very accommodating and friendly
google avatar

Rose O.

Yelp
For one parking is horrible here I ordered a fajita del Rey bowl for myself with Diablo chicken which was dryyyyy I ordered the kids chicken quesadilla for my daughter the tortilla was dry and falling apart Ordered the "strips" for my toddler and they were dryyyyyy as heck The aguas were not good either too sour The tortilla chips for my salsa I ordered were not fresh The location in West Hollywood is worth the drive I've been to the dtla a total of 3 times and it disappoints every single time!
google avatar

Jisel P.

Yelp
I used to love Tocaya but the last few visits have been disappointing. The food just lacks so flavor. Service was ok.
google avatar

A J.

Yelp
I could truthfully eat Tocaya 7 days a week, the food is always incredible. Portion size is okay, but the quality is top notch. Great flavor and fresh food! Been coming here often for the past four years.
google avatar

Kristi W.

Yelp
Fast service, customizable menu - love all the options for vegan and gluten free menu items! The food quality is amazing and fresh'
google avatar

Jackie B.

Yelp
Walking in to Tocaya gives you a good feeling it's going to be good. There's a lot to order from and they sell vegan and regular food. The vegan options are highlighted in teal color. We ordered a little bit of everything. The last picture shows a separate occasion I dined there. The Fajita Bowls are delicious as well as the Tortilla soup. The quesadilla was super delicious! Wish I could have taken a better picture of it! The jalapeño drink with lime (green) is delicious! It's spicy but very refreshing. Also the strawberry drink was great! The plant based waffles with the agave is very tasty! Give it a try next time. In DTLA you always have to pay for parking unless you catch a free space in the street which is nearly impossible. However, there's a $9 parking lot down the street. Enjoy!
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
Tocaya has been my favorite go-to place for quality organic Mexican food. But the DTLA location is the best by far!! Every time I visit the staff is super friendly and makes my experience memorable. Rosa is the manager and she takes great care of me every time!! Highly recommended!

Sofia S.

Yelp
This place is so cute and stylish.... I just wish the food was as good as the decor. The grilled pineapple pastor bowl was alright. Chicken was very tough. I also didn't like the seasoning or marinade it had, it's not like traditional Al pastor flavor...Black beans had too much liquid. Pineapple included the tough core. Guac wasn't tasty. The only good part were the chips and the hibiscus agua fresca.
google avatar

Yelp
After my initial review, the business manager reached out(I appreciate that) and offered to send a gift card to me to try this location again. I did and glad I did. My tacos were bomb.com. I ordered 3 tacos and a passion fruit margarita. Tacos were really good especially the Mahi Mahi. The margarita not so much.
google avatar

Yelp
Trash!!! To say used to be darn good, not anymore. The ingredients have changed. The rice , the shrimp, the everything. Down the drain. No good. Not ordering from here anymore.
google avatar

Alena B.

Yelp
Tocaya has my heart Los Angeles always has the best places for food. Especially for the plant based eaters. This isn't even a vegan restaurant but they have soooooo many options. You can order from your table or up at the register. The servers are extremely patient and helpful trying to figure the menu out because it gets a little overwhelming, in a good way. They have great items to choose from! So many tacos, they have quesadillas, salads, bowls, burritos, & more! Even the protein options are like 10 diff types! Their happy hour is a fun hour lol. You can get more for your buck and share with friends, ijs!! Their margaritas are also unique, I would recommend the tamarind or passion fruit(get the tajin!) For my vegan lovers, you have to get the vegan mozzarella queso. With any option (Taco, salad, etc) you choose your base, protein, then sauce. I liked the Tulum, Baja, & Cali tacos but you can't really go wrong with any of them. Inside seating is very earthy and they have a mini bar area as well. Go on a weekday it's not as crowded.

Cameryn W.

Yelp
I love this Tocaya location. Rosa is extremely kind and helpful. The restaurant is very nice and has a great vibe. The food is delicious to top it off! 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
The service is fantastic and the food is ready quick. They are always careful to place my Vegan items separate from non-vegan! The best. Rosa and the others know how to treat their guests!

Yelp
Came in today without being decisive on what to eat, but luckily for me Rosa was there to help. Guided me with a great choice in a birria torta. I really appreciate her and her amazing customer service. Will be back soon. Thanks Rosa.
google avatar

Aarti G.

Yelp
This was the first Tocaya I've been to. They have a bunch of different salads, bowls, and tacos on the menu. I got the cilantro verde bowl with diablo chicken. The chicken had a good spice to it which I liked. I wish I remembered to ask for brown rice since it came with white rice. It was a good portion, I didn't finish my bowl. The bowl also came with spinach, chickpeas, avocado, and cucumbers. We also got guacamole for the table which had pomegranate seeds in it.
google avatar

Brandon F.

Yelp
Salmon Bowl is the best thing along with any taco on the menu. We are visiting from Tennessee and the this place is next level. The service is great and the margaritas (spicy) is awesome.

Valeria S.

Yelp
This place is delicious. Definitely a must try if you haven't! I was not disappointed with any of the food or drinks I ordered. I recommend trying the potato torta! savored every bite! And the service was the cherry on top! Thank you to Rosa and the cooks making this a great experience. I had a happy tummy, and happy energy
google avatar

Siena W.

Yelp
Came in to order dinner and a drink but was told margaritas aren't served an hour before close and was a little disappointed but proceeded to order, got a keto bowl. Bowl tasted great until it I found a literal piece of PLASTIC in it.. I usually love Tocaya but was pretty disappointed
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
Just so good- vegan taco sampler is my jam. I could eat there daily. Guacamole and plantain chips rock. Margaritas are too sweet for me here. It's fast food, but good. Downtown is well decorated for a casual date.
google avatar

Jerel S.

Yelp
Beautiful location. Shout out to the manager in the polo Gabriela and to the sweet kind hostess cashier at the front who helped me with my takeout order. We were coming from the hospital and needed real food that wouldn't cause inflammation. Tocaya and team you were a tremendous blessing!!! Not to mention we stumbled in on taco Tuesday Can't wait to come back and grab a seat.
google avatar

Yaotl C.

Yelp
Started coming here around 2 months ago, service is top tier, everyone is inviting and friendly, the food is great, my favorite dish so far is the Salmon Bowl, its rich in flavor and tastes fresh, the vibe of the place itself is amazing, always clean and bright inside, makes you feel at home.
google avatar

Olivia R.

Yelp
The food is always ready fast the place is always clean and the food is always delicious! I been here so many times it's for sure a must try!

Yelp
Excellent vegan options that stay true to modern Mexican cuisine! The staff is also super friendly, and Rosa makes everyone who comes in feel welcome and taken care of. Seriously, one of my favorite spots in DTLA!
