DO NOT COME HERE! Owner/manager was combative and wanted to fight my friend after we purchased drinks. We merely were reading the comments of pictures of people who stole items and the owner/manager, an Asian male, was combative, rude, used profanity, and wanted to fight my friend for taking a picture. Why post pictures like that, especially with rude descriptions and people’s information who allegedly stole and then complain when people want to read it. Very rude person, do not shop here! Seems like they get robbed often

Naomi Bedinger

Google
Bigger than it looks from the outside, & they have decent hours to boot! Altho lately they seem to either run out of certain items, or they go up in price on random things once they get you as a customer! Still a pretty good and convenient package store tho.

Jay Naveen

Google
DO NOT SHOP HERE! Owner was rude combative and malicious to high paying customers. We peacefully bought drinks and were merely reading the funny comments of customers who had stolen and had their pictures and descriptions posted at the register. An Asian male clerk (maybe owner) came to the counter after we paid and told us to leave and not take pictures of the funny comments. He was rude and combative and wanted to fight. Terrible service, does not deserve anyone’s business

Jenn Meschi

Google
Atlanta staple, long before Toco Hills was fancy... Toco Giant was here. Great selection and still the best prices in town.

Alexandria Yang

Google
Gina’s wine selections are always on point. They never disappoint. I took an entire four course menu to her and she paired each course with the perfect wine. The prices are always reasonable and there’s such a huge variety.

Stephanie Helland

Google
Horrible customer service. My 77 y/o mother went in for the first time to buy a case of wine. Treated her like a criminal when my husband tried to purchase with her credit card. Understand procedures but no need to be rude to a senior citizen. We will not give them our business again.

Karthike

Google
Cashier (Asian man) was a terrible person and used profanity and wanted to fight despite peacefully buying liquor from the store. Do not recommend at all

PHILBERT CHRISTIAN

Google
I love going here to get wine or beer and seltzer’s. They have so much of a selection this a great place to go for the selections they have there.

Yelp
Being that this is conveniently located in an incredibly busy plaza, I have found myself coming to this location more than a handful of times. Each visit, the parking is a breeze and I am out the door in under 10 minutes. It is on the larger side with more than your typical selection of wines, beers, and liquors to pick from. Staff are friendly, professional and efficient. I'm more than happy to continue to come back again however, prices are slightly higher given they can charge more since it is in the middle of many residential areas.

Christopher F.

Yelp
Moderate prices and selection on certain items. However, some of the staff, especially the young Asian male, are extremely rude and have no interest in helping you find what you are looking for even though that is kind of a part of their job...helping customers. A sales rep helped me find a product before the actual staff just for context. Additionally, they proceeded to insult me wt checkout when I misunderstood their broken mumbled English (I get it whatever). But completely unprofessional. If you are visiting and not a raging alcoholic that knows exactly what you want, look else where with better customer service and people with an actual smile on their face.

Kiah R.

Yelp
Liquor store is much bigger than it looks on the outside and they have a HUGE selection. Came in to grab some things for my friends business and we found more than what we bargained for. They have almost every brand on the planet here and have a cart if you need it. It is very organized. They had 2 cashiers they seemed to be a bit on edge but didn't say anything crazy.

Kathryn L.

Yelp
A huge & cluttered layout. Service is lukewarm & rushed. There is a section dedicated to wine, yet if you don't consume spirits it's like pulling teeth to get help & insight. There are orange sale stickers everywhere, as well as on every last bottle in the store. My personal opinion is that type of price marking is tacky especially if you're purchasing as a gift. This was a last-minute visit & will leave it that.

Richard P.

Yelp
Best beer selection I've found on northeast side of town. If anybody knows a better one, let me know.

Angelica D.

Yelp
So, this is my 2nd favorite liquor store. You will find just about everything here to make the perfect drink, but they lack in adequate customer service. Usually there aren't sales associates on their floor, so I have to go to the register for additional help. Despite what they lack in service, I'm always able to find what I'm searching for. They have a huge selection and the prices are reasonable.

M M.

Yelp
Great selection and good prices. Every beer imaginable, especially my favorite Belgians. Seen a lot of reviews about bad attitude among cashiers but my experience has been pretty good. Seems like a Korean family-owned business

Jacqueline W.

Yelp
Prices are great... you are always going to find what you need, the variety is amazing!! ENOUGH SAID!!!!!

Michael P.

Yelp
Huge selection, and not just to regular stuff. It's a little cluttered but nice to walk around and browse. If you want somebody to follow you around and tell you the different nuances of every bottle, probably not the place for you. I'm a bourbon guy, so being allowed to browse and take my time without constantly being hounded to she me how much they know is great for me. Prices are very reasonable.

Michael G.

Yelp
**Scary experience!** Was just finishing up a purchase on one side of store and heard owner or owner husband yelling at another customer for taking too long to pay or something. Owner called customer a "fat f/ck" several times and reached under counter as if he was gonna shoot the customer or something. Never been in a business where owner got violent and insulting with a customer. Everybody in store and outside was scared. Enter here at your own risk....

Sam T.

Yelp
I don't drink that often anymore but was in the mood for a shot or two after moving. This store has a great selection for whatever tickles your fancy at reasonable prices. The store is also clean and well-organized.

Dan R.

Yelp
Rude and inept staff. We accidentally broke a bottle that rolled in to another in our hand cart while navigating the tight aisles. The manager handed me the broken bottle to pay for upfront, he was more concerned about the broken bottle over peoples safety and experience. Maybe declutter your aisles to reduce the chance that a bottle of wine could be broken? Maybe it's their tactic to get more business. Either way we will not be returning here and will happily spend our money at Decatur Package Store, who also has a better wine selection.

Roann T.

Yelp
Toco hill package store has a large selection of beer, liquor, and wines...basically anything you can think of. They are single handedly helping me build my bar cart. Best part about shopping here is they have a rewards program and once you reach certain points they send you little treats. Love this place!

Alesa W.

Yelp
I came in looking for a specific type of mini cocktail cans. They had them right at the entrance, and the staff immediately was there to see what other things I was looking for and tell me what promotions they had. They have a good variety of liquor as well as wine, but they also seemed to make me want to rush into deciding, buying, and leaving. It may just be because they're busy!

Gwynn N.

Yelp
HUGE selection of liquor at very competitive prices. Decent selection of wine, and they usually run a few specials. The beer selection here is decent, but a little too overpriced. Staff is always helpful and professional. Super convenient location with plenty of parking. They have a little storage area for empty boxes for anyone to help themselves to. One of the few package stores in the area that I actually feel pretty safe walking into by myself, even at night. There's usually an officer on patrol in the plaza. Definitely my go-to package store.

Bob C.

Yelp
Do not buy wine here! Most of the wines have professional ratings and descriptions, some from obscure critics and some from the legitimate Vinous, Wine Advocate and Jeb Dunnick sources. Based on the reviews from legitimate reviewers, I discovered that the wine ratings listed were fictitious. A chardonnay had a detailed review from Jeb Dunnick at 95 points. Quite a good value except that he never reviewed this wine (I am a subscriber). Typically, wines are not professionally reviewed if they score under a quality threshold. I can testify - this is one of those wines. The second wine was the Stolpman Para Maria. Once again, a detailed description and 95 points from Vinous. I also subscribe to this reviewer and this incorrect. Here is the actual review: 91 points Vinous "The 2017 Para Maria de los Tecolotes, a blend of Syrah and Petit Verdot, is pliant and energetic, with terrific balance and tons of sheer appeal. Dark red fruit, spice and wild flowers all develop in this forward, inviting wine from Stolpman." (AG) (9/2019) I called the store to address this and they told me essentially that they were right, I was wrong and they did not have time to talk to me. My advice is not to purchase wine here unless you know exactly what you are purchasing. Never trust their listed professional rating lies!

Yelp
These 2 stars break down in the following way: -Prices: 3 stars (prices seem standard) -Selection: 5 stars (tons of beer, wine, and liquor) -Service: in person, service seems to be 3-4 stars, over the phone, 1 star, and the focus of my review After a couple weeks in quarantine, I ran out of booze and needed a top up. I had no idea what the situation was with various businesses, as many were doing takeout only or closed all together. I called up Toco Giant, previously my go-to package store, and asked if they were open during the stay-at-home order. Here's a close to verbatim outline of my conversation. Me: Hi, are you all open to customers? Him: Close at 9! Me: Ok great, can I actually come inside the store though? Him: Close at 9! [same exact tone and short inflection as the first time] Me: Yeah, I heard that, I was just wondering if I can come in and shop around or if you only...[interrupted by him] Him: Close at 9! [literally a broken record, saying it in the same exact way] Me: [with a raised, frustrated voice] Why are you just repeating "Close at 9?" I'm wanting to know if I can come in and shop or if I need to place an order ahead of time or what's going on! I was in disbelief that an actual employee of the store would interact with a potential customer like that...I was so frustrated that I hung up. I know he probably gets a lot of questions about hours, but why answer the phone if you're not willing to have a conversation? Guess where I didn't go that day and will avoid going to get alcoholic beverages in the future?

Aditya B.

Yelp
Staff is rude as hell. I do like the variety in the store but it won't hurt to be nicer to your customers.

Abdoulaye T.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Spent almost 1k but still got attitude from the cashier. I asked if he had a non scratch bottle in the back because this 250$ Glenn Pringle was a little rough. Never going back

Kyle K.

Yelp
Great selection. Be careful when walking through since also store bottles on the floor.

Lou G.

Yelp
"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading." ~Henny Youngman I have not given up on Toco Giant Package Store! An excellent selection of whatever you are looking for! Beer? GREAT selection! Wine? Aisles of options! Rum? Shiver me timbers! Vodka? Da! Name it, they got it, and plenty of it! They even have a decent selection of well priced cigars at the checkout. The store is a bit messy., some aisles very cluttered. Service? non-existent on any trip I have ever made there. No problem if you go in knowing what you are looking for, and don't mind looking for it. Huge selection, great prices, no service.

Chamberlaine B.

Yelp
This one gets bullet-pointed... THE GOOD: -crazy expansive- they've got everything... and more -hard-to-find-ability: They have some craft beer that I haven't been able to locate elsewhere -location- they are central in the shopping center, easily visible from the road, and have plenty of parking THE BAD: -over-crowded by product: there is barely room to walk, bottles fill the shelves and then sit in rows on the floor in front of the shelves, there is little visibility and no more than one person can really look down an aisle at a time -the staff: both times I've been there, the person behind the counter was on the phone the whole time and barely even gave me a glance while checking me out, the whole time chatting away on the phone If you live in the area and need something, definitely go here and you won't have to make another trip somewhere else. If you don't live nearby, don't make the trip when I'm sure there is a comparable one closer.

Robin S.

Yelp
You may be excused if you don't know what to call this business or can't really say where it's located. Toco Hill Giant Package, Toco Hills Giant Package, or Toco Giant Package? And is it located in the Toco Hill Shopping center or Toco Hills Shopping Center? Confusion with names seems common in our fair metro area. For the record, this is the Toco Giant Package store (just as Yelp has it and as the Georgia Department of Revenue has as the licensee), even though the big sign on top of the store says Toco Hill Giant Package store. And it's in the Toco Hill Shopping Center, which is located in the Toco Hills neighborhood of North Druid Hills. That said, this place has a great selection of every kind of booze at reasonable prices and with easy parking. That's the trifecta of awesome. Plus, the staff are plenty helpful if you ask but have the sense to leave you alone if you don't. I love coming here and always buy a ton of stuff. Saison Dupont and Mississippi Mud. Yes.

Joonas K.

Yelp
Good selection overall of beers, wines, and spirits. Prices are in line with others around the city. I usually go here for their craft beers and they have a wide range of styles and breweries. They also have the new local limited releases and I haven't had to worry about people coming in and buying the entire stock before I can get a bottle or 6pack.

Art C.

Yelp
Great selection, especially for imported beers. I like Peroni and a lot of other imported beers, that I can't seem to find a many liquor stores. This store has more selection than Greens and tower. They even had Dragon stout beer . A selection like that is nothing to sneeze @

Thomonique M.

Yelp
This place is huge and has a really big selection so based on that alone would give it 5 starts. However I've had some really awkward and recently downright unpleasant encounters with the staff here. They are never friendly, and they all seem like they pretty much hate their job. From my experience, most liquor store staffs are typically kind of light hearted and at the very least friendly. The folks here never smile and it's just always awkward. The last time I went on NYE they were really packed (understandably) but the Asian chick who works their was downright rude to the point of almost a verbal argument. Being overwhelmed doesn't give you an excuse to bark at your customers. She was very snappy and lucky we just wanted to get our liquor and go. Won't go out of my way to go here anymore.

Veeral S.

Yelp
They have a huge selection of craft beer, wine, and spirits. Extremely friendly and if there's a product that they don't have in stock, they will assist in placing a special order. Their entire package store quite massive. Prices are competitive with other package stores. Their location is extremely convenient because they are near grocery stores and restaurants.

Laz Z.

Yelp
For years I have gone to Toco Giant Package Store. They have a good selection of bourbon, scotch, wine, and beer (including Georgia microbrews). From where I live in Toco Hills, it is the most convenient package store. Unfortunately, I'll no longer go to Toco Giant after they refused to accept an exchange on spoiled or "skunked" beer they sold me. I bought a six-pack of Kolsch that tasted nothing like it was supposed to, when I tried to return or exchange the five remaining cans, Toco Giants refused to accept them. They incorrectly claimed Georgia law prohibited the return of spoiled beverages and refused to do anything to correct the situation. Even worse, the staff I spoke with would not provide contact information for anyone that I could complain to. Instead, they suggested I try returning again in person because I might be able to catch the owners. While I was only out $9.99 as a result of the skunked beer, the staff I spoke to confirmed they would have treated me the same if I had bought a more expensive bottle of wine that was spoiled.

Terry F.

Yelp
This is the best liquor store in Atlanta--hands down. If you are in the Druid Hills area, check this place out. It is worth the drive. A great selection of wines, liquor (especially in the vodka, gin, scotch and imported areas). Decent selection of most domestic and many imported beers, as well. The cigar selection is only okay, so go somewhere else if that is what you are seeking.

Ro C.

Yelp
I had always enjoyed visiting this liquor store based on their wide selection and great prices but this has not been the first time that their staff is incredibly rude. This occasion beat any other, as now I see that the staff can be as rude as they want since the owner is. This man does not honor incorrectly priced items throughout the store and you end up not getting an itemized receipt (check your prices!). He then basically kicked us out for requesting one. Giving people refunds and shooing them away is not a way to conduct proper business nor is it conducive to want to return. Ever. Save yourself the headache and purchase elsewhere!

Tim T.

Yelp
This place has it all if they don't it's because they can't get it I'm sure. It's a huge store plenty of stuff to look at.

Elijah G.

Yelp
This place is a little bit too expensive and the staff that works there are pretty weird. They also close early and on Sundays I think they're close really early so if you're trying to go early

Apyo P.

Yelp
The male cashier was rude to my wife and unapologetic. The store has bottles sitting on the floor making it impossible to walk thru the isles without breaking a bottle. I wish I could take my star away and you will never see my $$$'s again.

Laura S.

Yelp
Lots of choices of absolutely everything, Greens is $5-7 cheaper but Toco is closer. The only reason for 3 stars is the female, I think she's the owners daughter. She is very sarcastic, rude, talked to customers like shhhh and is forever on her cell.

Donald F.

Yelp
I've been going here for over 20 years, and have been pretty happy overall. I'm a little puzzled by the significant amount of bad reviews, but everyone has their own unique experience. I haven't interacted with the staff a ton about wine, and have relied on my own knowledge and experience to find wine, since I've a bit of experience with wine over the years. There are times when the reviews from one of the major sources like Wine Spectator, etc. doesn't match up with the vintage; I've subscribed to publications like this for a number of years. I just shrug it off. There's a ton to keep track of there, because of the vast selection. It seems most people are unhappy with the wine and staff knowledge about the wine. To be helpful to these reviewers, there are some really great specialty wine stores in Atlanta where the staff is knowledgeable; not sure that I can list them here in this review, but some searches should yield the results. The selection is awesome, and there's a good amount of specials at any given time there; I'm never disappointed at all. All the price ranges are covered with the various brands of liquor; from that standpoint, there's something for everyone. They do have a great deal of specials, and over the years, I've had some pleasant surprises with great deals. I always purchase more than anticipated. As far as the beer, the selection is good, but I don't buy much beer. I can't speak to the prices or breadth of choices. My experience with the staff has been positive, but I haven't really sought them out for advice. I have been asked whether I need help finding something. I've not experienced rudeness at all. Like I mentioned, I've been a customer of Toco Giant for over 20 years, and wouldn't have kept returning if I'd been unhappy. I think I've purchased about 90% of my alcohol here over that time.

Michael B.

Yelp
One of the best liquor stores in the greater Atlanta area. The prices are great. The variety is great. Perhaps at time, however, the variety is to great. There is barely any room to move around in large areas of the store. The beer is also not organized very well. It would be helpful if there was better organization. Service. I have been here at least 15 times and have not once been asked if I needed help. Not cool! In the end though variety wins out. If they helped with better service and organization it would increase to a 5.

Aj K.

Yelp
Attitude Problem galore, can't ask a question or get courteous service. People, you have a choice where to go, don't make it unpleasant here!

Jean B.

Yelp
They are jerks about demanding masks to come in store (there are polite ways to do it). THEN RUDELY DEMANDED id to use my Amex card. I have been there hundreds of times, the other guy behind the counter knows me, just resents being there. Life us too short to deal with them. NEVER AGAIN.

Christopher L.

Yelp
Friendly staff and a wide selection. Makes sure regulars get first dibs on limited release products. Security on Weekends.

Kiara B.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying it takes a lot for me to write a negative review for a place. I'm a generally positive person, and I like to see the best in everything. So, it takes a truly bad experience for me to go out of my way share my negative thoughts on a place. I went to college at Emory, so I lived right in the area. While I usually went to a different liquor store, there was one occasion where my friends and I were in a pinch, so we decided to try this place out. We stopped in, browsed a bit, but realizing they didn't have exactly what we were looking for (my friend was VERY picky), we decided to leave. As we were walking out, one of the store attendants ran out after us, and told us to stop. He said he had to check my bag "just to make sure." "Make sure of what?" I asked. No direct answer, just a "it'll be real quick" answer. "Can I please ask why you are checking my bag?" I asked. Again "It'll be real quick." After he rummaged through my purse, he handed it back to me, saying nothing else, and walked back into the store. Needless to say, I felt incredibly violated. Now, while I am generally hesitant to play the race card, I cannot think of any other reason we would have been stopped, especially since I am also young. I am an African-American female, and was with an African-American male and an Asian male, and I truly feel this is the reason. I asked many other students if this had ever happened to them, and none said yes. They were all in the same age group. Some of them also did not purchase anything, and many were women, so they also had large purses. However, they were all Caucasian. Unfortunately, I could not find any other minorities who had been here, so I cannot make a definitive statement as to the reason we were stopped. Maybe it was just one bad employee. Maybe we did something else to seem suspicious. But if that were true, he should have given me an answer when I asked. I don't know what happened that day, but needless to say, I, nor none of my friends, ever went to this place again.

Brigette G.

Yelp
They don't take gift cards of any kind - so you're out of luck if you try to use an AMEX or Visa gift card.

Shawn W.

Yelp
Toco Giant has a terrific beer, wine and liquor selection. Multiethnic all male staffers are never effusive, and are all business, like the kind of guys you lay money with at boxing matches at the neighborhood gym. Though they can be brusque, staff that have helped me seem to be knowledgable and quick with an answer. The store interior itself is "worn." Perhaps the Giant is a shade smaller than the highly-rated Tower store on Piedmont, but not enough to make a difference.

Karen H.

Yelp
Interesting mix of reviews on Toco Giant. I would agree, in the past, that the service has been less cheerful, but the last few times I've been in there I've seen a huge change. The woman who usually rings me up has been really informative and friendly, and I've gotten some good advice about wines from her. Granted, they could use a somm in the wine section, but I've found that the reviews and notes posted with the bottles are pretty accurate. To the people complaining about the broken pavement in the parking lot, and the bad wine-in-a-box they bought there, those aren't Toco Giant's issue. The parking lot is the complex's problem, the wine in a box is just poor judgement.

Eowyn C.

Yelp
This is my one stop shop for all things alcohol. Called "Giant" for a reason. Each liquor has its own aisle and is clearly marked. The beer selection is outrageous and most def a hop head's dream. My boyfriend literally geeks out over all of the ipas they have in stock. The wine selection is equally massive. If you are looking for cheap wine, they have that as well, but be prepared to get strange looks from the staff when you go in looking for your stand-by box of Franzia as I did one weekend. They also have an array of mixers, mixing accessories, and even spiked whipped cream. Yes, you read that correctly. They have pre-mixed drinks in bottles for the lazy drunk and vodka in clear skull bottles for the flashy drunk. And if you happen to be in the market for some $400 Patron, well, they have that too.

Joe K.

Yelp
Thanks to Toco Giant's 5% discount for college students on Tuesday, what was once just a painful day on my quest to the weekend has become Whiskey Tuesday, a weekly holiday to celebrate our marginal savings. (This is absolutely serious) Anyway, as far as whiskey's go, they got everything from Old Crow (for when funds are low) to 4 Roses (best taste:cost ratio) to Elmer T Lee (highly underrated) to the really expensive stuff that I dare not buy, and everything in between (your Jacks, and Jims, and Evans) Also, they have a huge wine selection and pretty big beer selection, and great selection of all the other types of spirits (rum, vodka, tequila, etc.) If you need a case of wine for something, this is definitely the place to go. One negative: you would think after going here as frequently as I do that I wouldn't get carded every single time, but I do. Maybe I don't drink too much. Probably good for their business, but feels a little impersonal.

Amanda W.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to buy wine, beer & spirits. First, it's cheap and relatively close to Decatur. As I'm not a knowledgeable sommelier, I like that there are ratings and descriptions of a large percentage of the wines. The staff is helpful too. Even though the aisles are cramped, I enjoy just strolling through and looking. Toco Giant's also a good place to pick up beer. Not only are the prices good (yes, I'm cheap), but the selection's good. I picked up some Kriek last weekend and there are lots of other imported & domestic brands to choose from. They even have the best prices on Nigori sake in town (at least that I've seen). Any other liquor is here too, but those aren't my regular purchases. You can also get a discount if you pay with cash or debit if you buy multiples of 6 bottles of wine (yes, cheap is a theme).

Michael L.

Yelp
I'm a burgeoning Belgian beer buff, and this place has a decent collection of great beers (most varieties of St. Bernardus abbey ales, Gulden Draak, Ommegang Abbey brews, varieties of Chouffe, and many others that I've yet to try), and sells them at very good prices. I've only had one negative experience here, where a bottle was labeled 8.99, but the cashier insisted that it was 14.99- It was a St. Bernardus Pater 6 (a lighter version of their Prior 8)....I've never seen any other St. Bernardus bottle sell for above 11 dollars, and those were only the stronger brews (ABT 12). Boo. Ended up buying something else. But this place is relatively close, so I'll likely keep coming here for the time being, though Green's does have a better selection and slightly better prices (due to different cash/credit prices)

Phillip J.

Yelp
Larger than average selection but the service is terrible. Good luck finding somebody to help you, let alone make good recommendations.

Sara M.

Yelp
The selection is ridiculous. So. Much. Booze. I like wandering the tiny aisles, discovering all kinds of cool stuff. I've only encountered the floor staff once, and the guy was really helpful. The cashiers are pretty efficient, moving people through quickly but politely. This is basically my go-to package store, even though there are a couple that are much closer to where I live. A must-visit for any alcohol enthusiast!
