If you feel overwhelmed by the unwieldy men’s sections in big department stores (or even big chain stores), Todd Snyder might be the solution. The Midwest-born designer honed his menswear skills at J.Crew - you’ve got him to thank for the Ludlow suit - and brought his midwestern sensibility to his own label in 2011.
As GQ put it recently, Todd Snyder the brand has a “J.Crew-grows-up vibe” that is great for guys who are ready to upgrade the contents of their closet.
The newly opened downtown store in Tribeca is a homecoming of sorts. Snyder was the man behind the Liquor Store, the OG #menswear destination, when it was fronted by J.Crew. It closed last spring and Snyder snatched it up.
While you can find a larger selection of product and more of TS’s collaborations with other brands at the flagship store in Madison Square, the new Liquor Store is a smaller, more highly-curated experience.
