"Waltzing down an opulent marble corridor, I glimpse the last tangerine streaks of sunset through restored brick arches along an outdoor hallway, where dozens of swaying palms tower above a heated outdoor pool. After a few obligatory photos—and visions of what it must have felt like to be an heiress in a past life—I reach the lobby, where a hostess escorts me down a flight of stairs into a hidden oak-wood wine cellar holding around 240 vintages from Mexico and beyond.
