Where to Eat Korean Food in Aurora

"As the name suggests, this link in a long-running Seoul-based chain specializes in soft tofu stews (soondubu jjigae) that bubble like hot lava while bobbing with clams, oysters, and more in clay pots accompanied by sides of purple rice, crunchy fried fish, and banchan. But there’s much more to the menu, including ssambop: Sort of the Korean answer to fajitas, it centers on a sizzling plate of bulgogi or sliced pork for wrapping in lettuce leaves with more purple rice and funky bean sauce." - Ruth Tobias

1st visit - weekday lunch Menu is varied and a lot of choices. May be overload for first timer trying Korean cuisine. I ordered the Pork Tofu Stew. Banchan (side dishes, 4 types) served first. Tofu Stew and rice, authentically served piping hot in clay pots. Deeee - liscious! 👍 To-Go: Japchae with beef bulgogi. Service was pleasant, friendly and warm. Thank you, Ryan. Will definitely be back!

Google
Great place great food. One of my friends had a IG story having dinner here. It for sure delivered. Will come back

Google
Service was awesome. Host was super kind and gave great layout of the menu and their specialties. Ended up doing the short ribs and subbing for the spicy cabbage soup. Only 4 small sides (unlimited refills). Half of the short ribs barely had any meat on them. Food was pretty good but not amazing. The only bottle of sake they have to purchase is $100. Would come back again though to try other dishes.

Google
Good overall Tofu soup shop. They have expanded their menu with more Korean BBQ but we haven’t tried that. Overall, this spot is a good alternative to Tofu Story.

Google
Ordered a vegetarian vegetable dish. (The only one on the menu.). Also ordered spicy tofu. The tofu was good. A bit greasy, however, flavor was good. The vegetable dish left a LOT to be desired. One or two small bits of spinach and bits of other vegetables here and there. Flavor was good, however, the vehicle dish was literally almost all onion and a HUGE amount of rice to go with my vehicle dish touting many vegis. Definitely NOT WORTH the $50 I was out for this so called meal. If I wanted rice I could’ve just ordered rice. I wanted the vegis, and am out the cash. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

The food here did not disappoint. I went with some friends for am after work dinner and it was probably the best Korean dishes I've had in a while. I got combo TD because I couldn't decide on just one item so I got a mix of things, pork cutlet, tofu stew of course, and stone pot rice. It was an amazing mix of dishes. The tofu stew is their main attraction and it is so flavorful, 100% a must try if this is your first time here. The combos with all the sides for the table was a lot of food that definitely could be shared, I shared with myself cause it was too good. When the bill was all said and done it was like 25 - 30 per person with tip at a table of 4. If your a regular of a new comer looking for something new in K town, this is the spot.

Google
Tofu House was sooo delicious!!! The best part wasn’t the food though, our server Ryan was excellent! We arrived 40mins before closing and were still greeted and sat. Ryan was friendly, made us aware of last call and then gave us time to review the menu. We got a combo and subbed for Kimchi and pork stew. After we got our food, he checked on us and was very friendly the entire time. I understand it can be bothersome for some restaurants to receive guests so late, but our service was unwavering, even amidst stares from his co workers. The food was warming, hearty, seasoned perfectly and hit the spot! It was sooo delicious. Mildly spicy and hot, the banchan was crunchy, and a bit sour. This wasn’t our first time, and it certainly wont be our last.

Google
Place is nice, the staff are awesome! I got the cold noddles, they were Delicious but if you want good meat portion don't get it because it has only 2 slices of meat and half boiled egg but the flavors are good. The bulgogi is good but very small portion. The japchae is amazing it's a must try and their house made kimchi is probably one of my top kimchis ever. Enjoy!

Yelp
57 Check-Ins Its time to update the review of the Tofu House. We all know there are plenty of parking and easy to get on and out. Once you step into the restaurant, don't forget to sign in at the kosk with your phone number. With so many visits, you will get 20% off notification which you can use it right away or save it till later. Just show the coupon text on your phone to the server at the time of payment and they will reprint you a new bill. 20% off'ed. As always, my go to is the mixed tofu soup that has beef and seafood. If you like intense flavor, asked them to cook longer. Sometimes I will get cold noodle. Lately I habe been getting seafood jun which are crispy at the edge with lots of seating food mixed in. Bon appetite!

Yelp
Located at the side of a strip mall, not much to see from the outside, but inside was quaint and practical, tables all divided into sections. TV's on the wall played k-pop videos. Our party of 4 got seated at an awkward corner as the electricals for the stovetop interfered with the positioning of the table, but we worked around it. Our server was a young lad, very nice and helpful. The Seolleontang was flavorful, could've used a little more meat. The Bulgogi for 2 was big but just okay, have had better. But the star of the meal was the Assorted Tofu Stew, strung with different seafood and the stew was great. For the price you get a lot of food, we had to take some home.

Yelp
Came here with a friend. We were greeted warmly and sat right away. The restaurant is modern and clean with k pop videos on the TVs. Our waitress was polite, warm, and efficient. We ordered the kimchi tofu soup and cold buckwheat noodles. Both were very authentic and flavorful. All of the banchan were delicious as well. This is my go to Korean restaurant and worth the 20 minute trip from downtown Denver.

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch here at the So Gong Dong Tofu House. This is one of an international chain that stretches all the way to South Korea. I've never had Korea food, as far as I know. We shared an appetizer of crispy (fried) dumplings with sauce. I like sweet potatoes, so I ordered the #27 combination of sweet potato noodles, bulgogi (sliced beef), rice and vegetables ($15.95). The rice was hidden under the noodles and beef, all served warm, with other ingredients served cold in small bowls. The portions are generous. I liked it a lot! Service was competent and quick, and parking was convenient too. We were among the first at lunch, but the restaurant soon became busy. It's a cheerful place, not too noisy, with tables and chairs but no booths. If I get to this neighborhood again, I'd be happy to experience this restaurant again.

Yelp
We came on a Monday evening so we were seated right away. Service was great. The food was really tasty. Everything we got, we were very happy with. The kimchi soup was flavorful and spiced well. Prices were very reasonable. Inside was clean and warm aesthetic. Would definitely come again!

Yelp
I always like coming here. Great food. Totally, the service was lacking. There weren't enough servers. The stew was delicious and my son devoured the bulgogi. We got our food a bit late and getting follow-up service was really late. I recommend hiring more people, especially on a Friday night The place was nice and open and the tables brought out an authentic Korean house environment. You find yourself distracted by the Korean singers on the TV. Regardless, I still love coming here and plan to continue. Make sure to stop on by.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon at 2 PM and the place was busy. the seafood pancakes were delicious and crunchy. Japchae was generous in size. The LA shortribs plate for two had very tough meat. I was unable to tear it apart. They played K pop music with several wide screen TV going. Easy parking with handicap parking spot right in front.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here because I was feeling under the weather and was craving tofu soup. The interior of this restaurant is very modern and clean. Upon entering we were promptly seated and given water. There is a good selection of alcohol provided. Of course Soju and beer. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. I decided to visit this place because they offered a two person combination that came with bulgogi and tofu soup. In my opinion I found the tofu soup a bit bitter, but tastes great with the rice. This is my boyfriend's first time trying dolsot and he loved it. Everything about the meal was delicious along with the banchan. The price is reasonable and worth every penny. Definitely a must visit.

Yelp
Tofu House is one of the best restaurants that serves authentic Korean dishes. Soon tofu is the signature dish. Don't worry about the spice level, by default it was cooked with mild. It is always made to order. Highly recommended.

Yelp
terrible service. the old auntie doesn't know how to service her customers. very gaslighting and just not accommodating at all. on top of that an uber eats driver had to make me watch over her kids in the car because the auntie couldn't being the food out until its been paid for. honey...its uber eats its already been paid for. business and service is terrible. food is decent. quality went way down the past 5 years. the side dishes are bland and not as good quality either. please hire more workers.

Patricia I.

Yelp
Service--They are always very nice and receptive to all who come in! They have grown to serving all in neighborhood and I like that they have several generations now involved in serving the public. Food--Always true to their roots, not trying to "Americanize" (coming originally from Los Angeles I really appreciate that!) and one of the best places to lunch/late afternoon during cold weather!! Ambiance--Bigger than a small cafe but the "feel" of a country inn. I like it!
google avatar

Gina S.

Yelp
The combos are delicious and come with a ton of food. I got the tofu and pork belly combo. My favorite parts were the spicy tofu stew and the stone pot rice that had a crispy layer on the bottom. The food came quick and the servers were really nice and offered to refill my side dishes.

Yelp
Even in the dead heat of July summer, Tofu House is SOOOO tasty! We've been here a few times and I need to remind myself to come more. Always so many great side dishes, and the entres are very shareable. YUM!
google avatar

Yelp
Tofu House is one of my Korean Havana St favorites! The soondubu is AMAZING, the seafood is my favorite flavor. They have great combination meals that you get soup and an entree with ALL the banchan you can stuff into your face, impossible to leave here without feeling like a happy fat kid. They make all the tofu in house and you can buy fresh tofu to go as well. Service is always great, standard push the button if you need something service but they are super responsive and happy to get you whatever you need. I did have a friend come along last time and decided to order his soondubu extra hot, this was his mistake lol but it was so hot it wasn't enjoyable but they even remade it when he couldn't handle the spice level. Always a pleasure when we go, definitely recommend

Yelp
It was my friends 30th birthday. We went to tofu house because that's his favorite place to eat at. I wanted to bring him a cake to celebrate so I called ahead to make sure they were okay with it and they were! It was much appreciated. When I brought in the cake, they even gave us extra plates and cutlery to enjoy the cake. Everything was great with the help of Tofu house staff. A place of comfort :)

Yelp
One of my and my friends' go-to places for tofu stew in Aurora. Cozy environment, friendly staff, and never disappoints! One of my boyfriend's favorite restaurants in the metro area. Had my first ever tofu stew here and still come back to it. The rolled egg is also delicious! Bonus points for the stone pot rice--love some crunchy rice!

Yelp
I absolutely love soon dubu so when I found someone to go with me, it was an instant yes. There's plenty of parking and less then a 5 minute drive from hmart. We ordered and everything came out in only a few minutes. Soup was so flavorful and not spicy...as red as it may look. Ban chan was decent. The cucumber kinchi seemed old as the cucumbers had no structure to them. Otherwise everything was delicious. Even the fried fish! The rice was a but mushy for my taste and I couldn't even finish the whole bowl. I loved that it came in a stone pot too! So the crispy rice ends were amazing with the soup. I'd definitely come again. Super cozy and relaxing in this spot. And come hungry. There's so many other dishes to try.
google avatar

Yelp
Staff was super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious! They give you side dishes as well. My favorite was the fish cakes. The beef bulgogi that we got was slightly sweet, which I wasn't expecting (I normally have a salty version of the bulgogi) but delicious nonetheless. The 1942 tofu stew was the highlight of the meal. Overall a little expensive in my opinion for what we got, but good for a treat. There is plenty of parking outside and is in easy access location with plenty to do nearby!

Yelp
Definitely one of our family's fav places to go eat when we want some good Korean food. I love how they offer different combos to try. Our favs are the pork katsu and tofu soup. Their staff is nice and attentive. My only selfish thing is that I wish they would open on Mondays lol
google avatar

Yelp
The food was amazing and one of the best authentic Korean dishes I've had in Colorado. The soondubu jjgae was one of the best I've had. I ordered the four people set with a few friends and we were amazed by how good it was. The hard rice at the bottom of the clay bowl was something I haven't had before and was a great experience for a pretty affordable price split amoung the four of us. The interior design, music and furniture were also nice.
google avatar

Yelp
I come here way too much haha. From cold noodles + galbi to soft tofu soup, Tofu House has got it! Definitely one of my favorite Korean restaurants in Aurora and would recommend to anyone who wants to try some Korean food. Service here is always the same familiar faces, who I have found to be very kind. If you're unfamiliar with Korean food, don't hesitate to ask the employees here questions! There are some cool things here like stone pot rice, where you use water and the bottom layer of rice in a hot stone pot to make a "post-meal snack". You can try this out with any dish that comes with your rice in a stone pot. It's one of my family's favorite when we eat out at Korean restaurants! Would recommend Tofu House, always.
google avatar

Jessie Elizabeth J.

Yelp
Delicious Korean food with ample portions- we split the spicy pork belly bulgolgi with banchan and soup. Sticky rice was really fresh, the fried fish was an unexpected side and also fresh, flaky fish and crispy breading! Perfect balance of sweet and spicy for the meat and enough for 4 meals easily. The soup is chock full of tofu and seafood. Can't wait to work out way through the whole menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Tofu house is the best one so far. The food tasted so good and the staff is so nice. I will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
We originally wanted to go to tofu story but ended up at tofu house. We didn't realize since they were both in Aurora. However, we decided to give tofu house a try and it did not disappoint. We ordered the galbi tofu combo for two, and it came with two rice bowls, two soups, two fried fish, and a generous amount of galbi. Everything tasted great. The meat was seasoned well and the soup was great especially on a cold day in Colorado. The side dishes were also good. I am happy that I stumbled upon this place and will go again!
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
Very cozy Korean restaurant in the Denver area! My friend and I got their beef tofu soup and seafood tofu soup. Unfortunately, the side dishes here are few and a little lackluster, but they do give you a piece of fried fish! Their kimchi and cucumber kimchi were alright, and we also liked the fish cakes. We did not love their cabbage salad! As for the tofu soup, they give you a decent portion of protein and tofu. I definitely could've gotten mine a little spicier! I also like that they serve your rice in a stone pot, which keeps it warm and makes the bottom crispy for your soup. Overall, a great restaurant to visit for warm, comfort food!
google avatar

Richard G.

Yelp
We were in the area at a Korean supermarket event and decided to go for a Korean meal. We have never been to a Korean restaurant so we were a bit unsure what to try. I had to have Galbi because I knew whatcit was and I love it. While it was tasty 29.00 for 6 small pieces was a tad high. It did come with rice, soup and some sides. My wife loved her short rib and cabbage soup but the again at 18.00 that was a bit of a fiscal stretch. I might try the restaurant again but looking at items that might be more reasonably priced.
google avatar

Joy Q.

Yelp
Good flavor Ordered the lunch combo. Great portion of short rib, but the seafood tofu stew was not worth it in my opinion (could have been more tofu and seafood)

Mo B.

Yelp
I've been to Tofu House and ordered from there a few times and have always been very satisfied with their food! I love their ddeokbokki and chapchae. I've also tried their soy marinated crab, which was great but the crabs are small! Their tofu is so soft and yummy. Great for a cold day! The waiter was quick and attentive. I've had lunch and dinner with my family and friends here and it's a nice place to talk because the music isn't loud and they have big tables.
google avatar

Ramon S.

Yelp
It's okay. Came here and ordered the seafood soondubu. No egg was given. Taste was not quite there. Quite different from other sogondong places.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Food was flavorful, portion sizes were good. I had takeout so I cannot comment on the restaurant experience.

Yelp
OVERALL: 4.25/5 Food was authentic and tasty, would definitely go back. SERVICE: 4.5/5 We went as a party of 4 for dinner at 8pm on a Friday and were seated immediately. The restaurant was full and busy, so service was a little slow, but still good. I also had a stomachache and they didn't have hot barley tea but were able to bring me hot water :) FOOD: 4/5 We ordered the combo H, $79.50, which was plenty of food for the four of us. Everything was very flavorful and not too spicy if you can't handle spice. - LA rib galbi: the meat was hot and tasty, but was served with raw onions on a cold stone plate - Spicy pork bulgogi: delicious - 2 tofu soups: hot and bubbling with plenty of tofu & clams - 4 rice: came in stone pots and got crispy quickly - 4 fish: we were expecting whole fish, but were served small filets that were a little dry - Banchan side dishes: kimchi, cucumber kimchi, cabbage salad, etc.
google avatar

Yelp
Best soft tofu stew in the Denver area! This restaurant specializes in soft tofu stew and has a variety of ingredient options you can have in your stew. They also have other stews and menu options. I love getting the 1962 Tofu Stew with extra spam added. No matter how hard I try to make it at home, I can never achieve the perfect umami and spicy broth that Tofu House has to offer. Plus, they serve the rice in a dolsot (hot stone) bowl, creating crunchy scorched rice that adds a nice contrasting texture to the soft tofu and soup. We also ordered the kimchi and seafood pancake sans seafood (since my fiancé is not a fan of seafood) and they were able to accommodate the request. The pancake came out perfectly crispy around the edges and also had a nice mix of veggies (I think carrots and chives).
google avatar

Lizzie H.

Yelp
I enjoyed the the set menus, it was plenty of food for two people. Service was fast and refills on side dishes.
google avatar

Clement C.

Yelp
I have noticed Tofu House for a few years and finally gave it a try, and ordered a combo meal that had the tofu soup and half a grilled mackerel. I think it might have been a mistake, because the tofu soup was salty, the mackerel was grilled with salt and the side dishes were also salty. In addition, I should have known better, the mackerel was probably frozen for awhile and not tasting that great. I did like the rice which was individually cooked in the stone bowl. The service was quite okay. The food also came out quickly.
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
Came here during vacation because after eating greasy, American food for a week we wanted some spicy Korean food. We came here on a Tuesday evening without reservations and were sat right away. Service was average. It was hot inside. FYI they charge a "service fee" and credit card fee. Food was below average. I was excited to try this place out due to the great reviews on both Google and yelp...however, the food was subpar...especially compared to what I'm used to in Virginia. The soon tofu basically had no thing in it (e.g. protein, veggies, etc). The rice was supposed to have noorungi (scorched rice) at the bottom, but it did not. The overall theme seemed to be blandness... * The LA galbi was bland * The soon tofu was bland * The kimchi had no taste at all The best tasting thing was the kkakdugi (spiced radish).
google avatar

Andy S.

Yelp
This place is always packed so you automatically think this is a good restaurant but in reality this place is a scam . I would not recommend this place because not only do they skim you portions of food and but also quality is just not great. There are better Korean kimchi stew down the street with twice the portion of soup !!! I have learned my lesson and will no longer eat at this establishment.
google avatar

Dale C.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places to grab lunch. Spicy pork is delicious as is their fish. Among the appetizers, we really like their salad and spicy cucumbers. Friendly service. Oh, and free Wi-Fi too!
google avatar

Ananya P.

Yelp
I ordered the spicy seolleongtang, which lived up to the spice and it was delicious. There was glass noodles in it as well. The service was quick and the ambience was great. It was full with music playing. I was a little reluctant to try the food after moving here, as I have high expectations, but it hit the spot! I'm only giving it four stars because the side dishes were a little bland. They might be catering to the demographic here, but the side dishes are just as important to me as the main (lol)!
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
The best tofu soup! The ladies that work there are so nice. I love all the sides you get and kid approved for the fried fish side.
google avatar

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Ordered from Tofu House from Grubhub. While the price was steep for the seafood pancake and Kalbi BBQ (short rib) combo, I still fairly enjoyed my meal. The pancake was tasty, full of seafood bits and just good. I would have liked more crisp to the pancake, but I also wasnt sure if the pancake got soggy during the delivery. I also enjoyed the BBQ combo with the short ribs and sides. The grubhub price was really steep at $44. I dont think Id ever pay that much for Kalbi, but I also wasn't paying (thanks work lol). Good kimchi and great meal. Cucumbers and fish cake was good too. I was surprised I could finish it all, but overall, decent Korean food! Will have to come back to try more!
google avatar

Desiree N.

Yelp
So yummy but I'm not sure if I tagged the right menu items for the pic! Either way go try
google avatar

Tina H.

Yelp
THE place to get tofu soup. Can get it with different proteins -- seafood, beef, vegetable, etc. Our go-to is the beef. Best taste, texture, quality we've had in CO. Also available are tofu soup combos which come with an additional meat dish. This is usually my preference, as it means I don't have to order an entire second entree and have way too much food. Tofu House also has a bunch of other Korean soups and stews such as Seolleongtang and Doenjang, as well as a handful of other offerings like cold buckwheat noodles and japchae. For Korean soups and stews, this is definitely the place to go!
google avatar

Kimberly A.

Yelp
Service at the Tofu House is wonderful! We were taken care of like we were family :) The meal was stellar, so wonderful we were part of the clean plate club at the end of the night. The sides dishes of KIMCHEE, CUCUMBER KIMCHEE, TOFU SKIN, and FRIED FISH along with our GALBI and soft 1962 TOFU SOUP was the right portion size for my party of 2. I love the combination of spicy and salty and then sweet and savory. Again waitstaff was attentive with refilling my water carafe and promptly providing the check at the end of the meal. Clean and spacious dining interior throughout as well. The STONE POT RICE was my favorite thing. The burnt crunchy exterior was phenomenal.
google avatar

Anh N.

Yelp
Love coming here as the cold weather rolls in! Just the thing to warm you up. Their tofu soup is boiling hot (literally boiling as it comes to your table) and so delicious. Their tofu is so soft and the spice level was great for me (but I'm a person who likes spice but doesn't handle it well!). The portion is also good with a big serving of rice that accompanies each soup. Each tofu soup is around $15-16, which I would say is in the pricier side. That being said, they are the only place in the area that specifically specialized in Korean tofu soupn- other places do serve it but it's not the star of the show.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
I've had a lot of Korean food in my day and this place hits all the marks. My husband and I split the spicy pork shoulder + tofu stew combo and everything was delicious! I guess if I'm really trying to find a fault the kimchi was too fresh..? But that is truly a non-issue when everything else is so good. We're lucky to live nearby, so we can't wait to be regulars here.
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
This place is such a classic and what I love is that the food is always so consistent. Some may find this place a little overpriced. But for the consistency and what you get it is worth it. They are most well known for there tofu soup which is amazing! I love getting that with the stone pot rice combo set and you can choose spicy pork and you get fish! I love getting the rice wine with pancake and bossam it is one of my favorites and the rice wine is so so worth it! The pancake is a great size! I also love ordering the ssam bap which is meat and a side of lettuces and you eat it like a wrap. Very very refreshing! Truly everything on the menu is always consistent. If though you are looking The typical lots of banchan Korean restaurant, it is not, as you only get 4 different banchan. I will always be back
google avatar

Melanie T.

Yelp
I come here for the rice. The rice is cooked so well and the consistency that I like but can never achieve. I am a suck for any dish cooked in a clay pot especially rice because there's always a chance it's burnt at the bottom and that's the best. The tofu stew was quite delicious too. It's very heartwarming and fills my soul with love and warmth. It's perfect for the winter months. One of my favorite things about Korean stews is that they are great for hangovers so I wish this place was closer to me. All in all, a great place that reminds me of the restaurants I ate at in Korea.

Andy K.

Yelp
This is the 2-person combo, a small soondubu , like 2 strips of LA galbi, bento box portion of side dishes and two small portions of rice for a grand total of $50?!?!? Yeah this is ridiculous, these low-tier korean foods. Man the korean food scene, let alone the food scene in Denver is atrocious and trash. This is what happens when theres no competition. And the cost if living here is way up with no decent place to eat

Yelp
Omg! I don't know why I have never written a review before because I have been to this wonderful restaurant at least 10+ times! Tofu House is a Korean staple that remains true to their roots in terms of serving what they are known for - Tofu stew! If you want a yummy filling meal, come over to Tofu House! My friends and I always get their combo dishes which include: Bowl of hot rice in a stone pot, a small de-boned fish, tofu stew, and a meat of your choice (I usually get pork belly). They give you so much food for such a cheap price! I usually am taking home the meat as leftovers because it can be consumed in more than 2 sittings. I love Tofu House and it is one of our go-to places!
