The 18 Best Dog-Friendly Restaurants In London

"You might think that taking your dog to a vegan Chinese restaurant will make you their least favourite parent. But at Tofu Vegan, you can get some delicious housemade silken tofu in Sichuan sauce, mock meats like Chongqing chicken, dim sum, and more plant-based dishes that may surprise you—and your dog-child—with how impressive they are. It’s a big-ish space, with tables spilling out onto the pavement, and it’s an excellent option when you’re around the Angel end of Upper Street." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

The 10 Best Dim Sum Restaurants In London

"All day The mega popular vegan Chinese spot has a few locations (including Spitalfields and Golders Green) but it’s their original location in Angel where we find ourselves enjoying tofu and mushroom xialongbao most often. While their soup dumplings are good, if a little thick, it's Tofu Vegan’s wontons in house special sauce that are the must-order dim sum item. Thin wrappers packed with a mix of tofu, mushrooms, and water chestnuts form the wonton while the sauce—a neon red chilli concoction—is fizzing, moreish, and completely gluggable." - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak

We tried a number of main dishes between us, food was beautiful! We tried the chongqin chicken with chillies, sizzling tofu in house special sauce (really delicious), tofu with King oyster mushrooms, and fried aubergine with house special sauce (the sauce was a creamy type sauce which seemed to be a bit at odds with the aubergine). We decided to have brown rice with everything. We’re definitely going back to slowly work all way through the menu. The staff were very attentive and the restaurant was extremely popular with a nice happy vibe. Very easy to get to from Aldgate East underground station, just a few minutes walk down Commercial Street.

This was my first go at vegan Chinese food. As I'm Chinese, I can properly say that their dishes were brilliant. Even with the meat bits swapped out for plant-based stuff, the food kept most of the original flavour. The staff were really friendly too, and Vincent's service was especially thoughtful. Overall, it was a really nice experience.

What an experience!!! 5 stars is not enough! from the second we came in we felt so welcomed. Had seen this place on social media a lot and it most definitely lived up to the hype (and beyond)! I came with my non vegan boyfriend and he also fell in love. We ordered the won tons, the sweet and sour chicken, boiled rice, and the special fried noodles. One bite into the sweet and sour chicken and WOW! Even the small, wow! The rice was perfect. The wontons were soooo tasty and something I wouldn’t really go for but so glad we did. Next time I will for sure try their fish bao bun and sizzling tofu in special sauce. There will be plenty of next times! Our server (who I think was the manager / owner) was very happy to give suggestions. Vincent I think was his name? He was a delight!!!! Thank you Vincent!!! He talked to us about our trip and gave recommendations for other places in the area. The whole experience felt so intimate and the meal was made with love. Such beautiful food and such friendly lovely staff. A true and total celebration of vegan cuisine. Please please please give this business a visit.

I enjoyed a nice meal here for one. The severs were all really nice and made the experience feel so pleasant. My favourites of what I ordered were the soupy xiao long bao and the fish fragrant aubergines. I would want to come again to try the other options.

This was an amazing dinner! I tried so many delicious dishes and could go back again and try even more without repeating. It was nice to have more than a couple vegetarian options and be able to order anything on the menu. We had fake fish buns, fake chicken, sizzling tofu and sichuan noodles. The staff were super helpful and kind!

Google
My family and I are traveling & visiting London from the USA. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find any good vegan food, especially vegan food that would satisfy my omnivore husband and daughter. We were pleasantly surprised when we passed by this place! The food was amazing & healthy. The only negative is that they can't follow us back home. For anyone looking for delicious vegan food for vegans or non, this is a must!

Yelp
Once you have vegan friends, you start visiting places you would never have considered visiting at all. In this specific case it was a pleasant surprise. The food was extremely good, I mean if all vegan food is that good, who does need meat anyway? You can't tell the difference. We instantly got a seat, only downside was, that one of the waiters wasn't too familiar with either the dishes or the English language because she wasn't able to tell what specifically was in the dishes (I mean, would be good to know in case of allergies)... at least she could have asked the chef but somehow she just got a little "angry" and lost er patience. But it's not been too bad, so everything was still okay. The noise inside the restaurant is a little disturbing you can't talk to each other without yelling or screaming. Overall it was a great experience never the less.

Yelp
Great staff. Great food. I'm so happy I gave this place a chance. We took the server suggestions to hard and ordered everything that he suggested. This restaurant is a family style. Food is suggested to share. We shared the following dishes: Deep Fried tofu with salt and pepper Gong bao o'ster mushrooms with cashew nuts Wontons Twice cooked fisc Fries noodles. There was three of us in the party and we thought this was enough food. Everything had good flavor. Our favorite was the Gong bao o'ster mushrooms with cashew nuts. Our least favorite was the Twice cooked fisc. It was busy on a Monday night, but we didn't have to wait long to be seated.

Yelp
The concept of vegan dim sum blew my mind. Everything was well made and the skins are just as authentic as regular dim sum. The fillings are mostly tofu & lotus, which tastes a bit more plain but I think they did the best. The fried aubergine/eggplant was stunning -- incredibly tender, the crispy spicy breadcrumbs and dressing sauce was amazing!! Didn't get to try their fake meat dishes to draw direct comparisons but everything was great already.
