Very cute small place, food was incredible. Got the tonkatsu ramen, was some of the best ramen I have ever had. Service was very nice and fast! The resturaunt is super cute and clean, and prices were great at $12.75 a bowl. Definitely will be back.

Fantastic service, fantastic food, fantastic background music. A small and relaxed vibe paired with comforting japanese food can never be beaten. This is a perfect spot for an intimate party, I wouldn't bring more than 4 people at a time due to their limited size dining room. Everything is clean and comfortable, too, so don't skip out if you're in the area!

My daughter and I visited last night! Wow! I'm so glad we found this spot, nestled in a small, almost vacant looking shopping strip, adjacent to a small gym/fitness ctr. Walking in this small yet cozy restaurant, we immediately sensed the positive energy, and the waitress approached us with an inviting smile and ready to seat us, where we'd like. She was so amazing and attentively delightful. For appetizers, we had the Gyoza🥟 and the Shrimp Tempura🍤. Both were delicious, hot, and fresh! As the weather was cold, I wanted to order a Ramen. However, we both decided to try some sushi rolls 🍣 instead. We ordered the Shaggy Dog, Pink Lady, and the Yakuza. Oh my goodness! 🤤🤤🤤 All were my first time trying, and they were great! This was my first time trying fresh water eel as well. Altogether, the experience was great. I wish I had taken some really good photos, but I was ready to dig in! My daughter took one quick snap! I definitely look forward to returning and trying their Ramen, as it also looked amazing, from seeing the other guest's table! Thanks!

Fantastic little Japanese restaurant! I love their agadashi tofu and the little cream cheese rolls. The ramen I ordered was way too salty. Hubby loved the black pepper beef though!

Toki is a wonderful stop for sushi rolls and ramen. The spicy chicken ramen is delightful. I also highly recommend the cheese sticks. I could eat 2 orders of those by myself they are so addictive! Dine in if you can. The staff is friendly and fast. I am also a weirdo about sushi to go so take that with the grain of salt! Toki is my 9 year olds favorite!

Terribly slow! Ordered two ramens - that's it & it took them over 40min to make. I kept asking when would it be ready and the lady kept saying 5min. Every time 6 minutes would pass she'd say another 5 min or almost done. I eventually asked for a refund but she kept preferring to rush the order. I was pissed. If I didn't have another appointment to get to maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal, but I did and was late. Another customer waiting said it's only one person working the front and back - sounds like to me that's a recipe to be closed. To me just be reasonable and honest with your customers and GIVE them the option - don't lie about it. Otherwise, the soup was good - thus the three stars.

We ordered Gyoza, Spicy Miso, and Spicy Tonkatsu. Very sweet service. Got our food in under 5 mins. You can tell everything inside the restaurant is cheapo, but that's doesn't affect my review.

We just moved into the area and we were looking for a new sushi spot. Coming across TOKI we stopped by for their happy hour that's available from 12pm - 6pm. We're definitely going to be back again ! We ordered a couple of appetizers & rolls: Spicy Edamame - these were spicy & flavourful Seaweed Salad - fresh & light Gyoza - lightly pan-fried & pork filling was tasty Tornado Roll - shrimp tempura & extra crunch topping with eel sauce made the roll Samurai Roll - spicy tuna was so fresh & is definitely a must order Rockstar - this was a lightly fried roll & was very good considering we both aren't huge fans of fried rolls (highly recommend if you like fried rolls)

Yes yes yes!!!!! Tiny and perfect. This jewel made me so happy. Complimentary cream cheese egg rolls were so good we got another order to go for dessert!!! OMG when these are hot they like melt in your mouth. Ahhhh. The saki was the perfect temp and made me feel as loved as the black garlic tonkatsu ramen did. They also don't give too few noodles like many places. Good amount of noodles. Great broth. Gyoza were great - my picky 11 year old liked them here and hasn't anywhere else. The two people working their behinds off in there never slowed down for a sec. they are super hard workers and seem very kind. I think they were the owners maybe.

This was my first time here with my boyfriend, and I've been looking everywhere for a delicious ramen place that has soft thinish noodles. Most ramen places I've been to have those curly firm noodles and I never eat them, I just drink some of the broth. BUT this place had the best broth (super flavorful, the spicy miso is a comfortable spice so nothing too spicy where you can't eat it, the ginger really makes the broth), and the noodles were soft and also cooked perfectly, the pork chashu was super tender, and not super fatty which is wonderful, and the egg was delicious in the broth as well. My boyfriend isnt a huge ramen fan, but he did try their California roll sushi, I also had a bite and it tastes fresh, great quality of ingredients, and really good. It's a small little place, so it has 3 booths, and maybe 4 tables in there. But service was fast, super friendly staff working even the chefs were smiling and having a good time, their decor was nice, nice music playing (not too loud either) and overall really cozy with dim light. This is now my favorite ramen/sushi spot near home, I will continue coming back. absolutely 1,000% recommend. Spicy miso ramen before tax is $12.95 Any soda that is coke zero, sprite etc before tax is $1.95 (comes in a can with a glass of ice) Gyoza before tax is $6.95 BUT if you order them from the happy hour menu before 6pm it's $5.95 ($1 off) and worth it!

Fantastic sushi! I still can't decide if I like the Warrior or the Samurai roll better, but both are amazing. And super important- they are consistently good!! Sometimes their edamame is undercooked a bit, but the sushi just makes up for it. Before this place, I didn't think I enjoyed Yellowtail, but the Warrior roll has it and my husband ordered just the Spicy Yellowtail today and it's so good! Their fish just taste so fresh and delicate- I love it!

We get miso soup and they have never done us wrong. My man gets spicy I get regular. The tone is very calm with dim lights, and very intimate.

I've been coming to Toki for a good while ( over a year) & each time is better than before. First of all, you walk in and its so cozy and dim. The staff is always so nice and has never messed up my order once. I love ordering their appetizers, especially the calamari! It is so crunchy & delicious! Their cheese sticks are something you don't wanna miss out on! They're like mini cheesecake bites and theyre so crunchy too! I've had the pleasure of trying out one of their hotdogs before and they are honestly so good. They kind of remind me of Mexican style hotdogs but with more Asian flavors. It's something worth trying! The ramen thooooooo.... It's some of the best I've had all over Houston. The broth is so much more flavorful and creamier than other shops. They give you a generous amount of noddles, the pork is so tender and full of flavor and the egg is always cooked to perfection. All in all, toki is a great place to come and get your ramen fix. My family and i come here a lot and its always a great time and experience.

Reliably good food and service. It's a shame that the location is where it is because more people should come here. The sushi is delicious but cheap, I always come here when I have a hankering for sushi but a slightly empty wallet.

Family-run sushi and Ramen establishment. Very simple layout, hole in the wall restaurant. Service is a bit slow, but the foods more than make up for the service. The Ramen was one of the best I've eaten. I wish pork was not fried. Otherwise, it would be perfect. The miniature cheese rolls were delectable. Love the seaweed salad and sashimi platter. The Rodeo roll is my least favorites. I will try the cool dog the next time I am there as well as the Japanese drinks.

Debating trying this place? DO IT! Based on the great reviews we decided to take the plunge and try it out. WE LOVED IT! We got edamame, two different ramen bowls and sushi rolls. Everything was great! 10/10 pricing was great too! It's a small place and when we went on a weekday it was packed but for good reason! Excited to go back and make this our go to place!

I've been here several times, only for carry out, my wife, daughter, her boyfriend, who found this place, and I, have had various sushi rolls, tempura vegetables, and ramen bowls. They have been consistently fresh and delicious. If they are this good with carry out, I can't wait to dine in and try them as dine in is always better than carry out. We will definitely be back.

Yay, a new ramen place to try. This place also serves sushi, but we're ramen folk - so this review is for the ramen. This place offers 3 types of ramen, with spicy/regular variants for two of them. All of them are priced at a reasonable $9.50. Quantity-wise, this place did not disappoint. There's enough ramen in each serving without us wanting for more. Each ramen also comes with a generous suite of toppings, including one whole egg split in half (the runny kind too). The bowl certainly looks promising. However, it ultimate comes down to taste, and it didn't live up to its looks. I had the spicy miso ramen, it was just ok. The two pieces of charshiu had mild pork odor and weren't fall-apart soft. The noodles didn't taste particularly exciting. Various others in my party felt the same. Perhaps you could give the ramen a try, but it doesn't have our enthusiastic endorsement right now.

This spot is really good. I went with my dad and his wife just before the COVID shut down. I was impressed with all of the food. Service was a bit slow, especially considering only one other table was there. But they were friendly. Pricing is average for sushi. I enjoyed it enough that as we felt things we safe enough after re-opening, we ordered take-away. Again, the order took about 15 minutes longer than the confirmation said it would. But I was able to wait in my car away from any potential germy non-mask wearers, and they brought my food to me. They even added an appetizer to apologize for the delay. Everything was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.

The price is good for the quality. I don't consider the sushi to be high end but I'd go here if I want reasonable priced sushi to satisfy my craving without breaking my wallet. I recommend the business to put effort on their menu. We got two menu with different prices for the same rolls.... It's messy and not a good first impression. The restaurant was under staff but our waitress was good.

The food was really good and reasonably priced. The service was also friendly and prompt. My stuffed jalapeños and sushi were great and my sake was warm and smooth. This is a cute little gem and I definitely recommend.

I'm definitely not a ramen connoisseur but this place is TASTY! The ambiance is very calm and filled with decorative dark Asian themes. I ordered the California roll, Fried Calamari and the Spicy Chicken Ramen. My favorite thing about the California roll was how fresh and simplistic it was. The fried calamari was fried crispy in a panko like batter (it needed salt) but it came with a sauce that was sweet and delicious! It was a very small portion of calamari (ordered during happy hour). The ramen was very eccentric and had very bold flavors but there was too much going on for me. The spice level wasn't unbearable at all! My favorite thing about the ramen was the quality of chicken and noodles everything else was just satisfying.

The place was smaller than I expected and I definitely know for a fact that we waited over an hour for two bowls of ramen and the kids meals came out really quick the sushi was altered because of an food allergy the service was a little slow but I'd still go back if I was in the area

Authentic sushi? Check. Slight but stylish decor? Check check. Attentive staff? OH to the YES! All of these qualities led to one of the top experiences I've been lucky to have had in a sushi restaurant. For a saturday night, the emptiness at the restaurant admittedly had me a bit worried. But it was actually so great that it was empty. It's a small, intimate space. The amount of people dining in at the time was not an indicator of the food quality. Between myself and my friend, we tried five different sushi rolls and split a plate of steamed, salted edamame. The sushi rolls were perfect. They came out crisped to perfection when the roll called for it, well seasoned, completed with fresh fish that had its own flavor that stood out from the rest of the roll on its own. We had the spicy yellow tail, the Houston roll, the caterpillar roll, the Sakura, and the Flaming. All were good and I would recommend, but we got the Sakura, the Flaming, and the spicy yellowtail hoping all would deliver a solid kick, and only the yellowtail could be dubbed truly spicy. That's good if you're sensitive when it comes to spice levels, but we were hoping for a little more. Not a big deal though. Our server was great as well. Very friendly and attentive. He even noticed when I dropped my chopsticks on the floor and in turn delivered another pair when dropping off our next sushi roll without me even asking. My friend made it pretty obvious though when she laughed and pointed at me...

Great Food, I have been there several times now. They will make the edamame space if you ask. Sushi is very fresh and I even tried the spicy dog.

I'm so happy I finally tried this hidden gem! It's located in the most unassuming shopping center. I wish I had tried this place earlier because it's now one of my favorite ramen joints in Houston. Food: The complimentary cream cheese egg roll appetizers are so adorable and yummy. Seaweed Salad- What you expect. It was good and wasn't fishy like some other places. Peppered Tuna- Very fresh and lightly seasoned the perfect amount Tonkotsu Ramen (1 Spicy & 1 Garlic variation)- The broth was so rich and creamy! I loved that it wasn't too salty as most other ramen places. I usually prefer thick noodles, but the ramen here only comes with thinner noodles. Nonetheless, they were still perfect and worked well with the ramen. The chasu pork was flavorful and tender. I'll be back to try their sushi next time. I highly recommend this place!

I had a friend take me here because I wanted to try some ramen for the first time and can I say wow it was so good and when I tried the chicken crunch roll man that was to die for I am definitely coming back for more in the near future!

For a small, humble place the food is really good and the service is great. I hope more people find this place and visit smaller establishments.

This place wasn't as close to my area as I thought it was, but I had to try it. Walked in smaller venue than expected. All the booths were taken, or else I would've sat at a booth. Only 1 waiter so I sat myself. Venue was nice and decorative. Staff could use some adjustment. Jay was his name I asked about the beer like what would be closest to michelob ultra. He responded with Kirin Light, I then said I'm afraid I won't like it. He was then like ok than just get the ultra. Dude I don't need you to get defensive. I'm allowed to have my opinion. So try to be a bit more cheerful and polite. Especially when someone is new to Japanese beers or restaurant. 2 smoke salmon this is my favorite. 2 pepper tuna wasn't my first time trying always good. 1 tamago this is supposed to be sweet but it was more sour. 2 surf clam first time trying wasn't a fan of the rubbery texture. 1 whole scallop didn't care for this one. 2 spicy chopped scallop a whole lot better with the spicy mayo. 4 salmon belly another fave. 1 black tobiko best out of all the flying fish roe.

This is ok. It's quick and easy but not the high end sushi that melts in your mouth like Bloofin and kokoro. If you're looking for quick Togo sushi Thai is convenient down the street but not a place to take a date.

Great hole in the wall, located in a strip mall. They started us off with two free cream cheese rolls* that are wrapped in very thin wrappers and the cream cheese was very light. Happy hour is from 12 pm - 6 PM and they have a pretty good happy hour menu. Items we ordered off the happy hour menu included: Calamari* -- great crispy coating but could use a little more seasoning Rock star roll -- good, did not taste heavy even though it is fried. Other items ordered included: Spicy black garlic tonkatsu ramen -- good depth of flavor, gave two half eggs, abundant noodles Salmon belly sushi* -- slightly charred on top which added an additional texture to the dish. Really loved the flavor Sweet shrimp sushi* -- fresh sweet shrimp, came with fried shrimp heads Takoyaki -- good, better than most places I've tried Would love to return again and sample more dishes! The dishes I would order again have an asterisk*.

What a fantastic find this little place is! Hidden in a second row strip center with just a little sign, and it's been here a year. Everything is super bright, fresh, and clean - and unbelievably inexpensive. Happy hour which includes lunch has appetizers for $2.95 and nigiri for $1.95...! The owners are clearly meticulous and fastidious about their place. It's spotless, pristine. Just what you hope for in a fine sushi restaurant, and that bright clean impression carries over to the food. I haven't had anything here yet that wasn't outstanding, including the service and even the awesome music that is the owner's personal playlist. There are other good sushi places in the area but this may be the best, AND the least expensive. You can't beat that combination.

We were playing a tournament with the kiddos in this area so we Yelped to find a great sushi restaurant and we found it. Will absolutely come back and would recommend to anyone in the area! Five Stars for me!! Only had the Cocktail left....wish I would have thought to take pictures of the delicious food!

I came here today and my party and I tried a number of their dishes, including their Tonkotsu ramen, sushi, hotdog, and octopus balls. The place was incredibly clean, and the ramen in the best in the area! We have tried to find good ramen in the area, and this place is the best! The hot dog was unexceptional; however, I'd not recommend going to an Asian restaurant for hotdogs. The sushi was near the quality of the ramen; however, by far, the ramen was the star of the show. Finally, I should not that I came just before noon, and the restaurant quickly filled up. My favorite ramen was the spicy Tonkotsu!

Decided to choose sushi tonight for dinner and I'm so happy I did! My boyfriend went in to grab my pick up order and let me know the brief but very friendly service was great. The older woman who greeted and checked him out with the order was very nice and made him even want to dine in. Price wise the two roll combo was not pricey whatsoever! For two rolls and a house salad I spent $10 and of course always tip! As far as the food goes, absolutely delicious. It was so good and I'm even thinking about going back tonight to get two more rolls. I didn't even attempt to use the soy sauce which I never do because the rolls were so good. Very fulfilling! Thank you so much and you guys definitely have yourself a regular customer!

Food was awesome!! Probably the best sushi I've tasted locally. We tried the Philly, crunch and shaggy dog. They were all amazing!!! I give this place a 5 star! My husband and I will be back soon.

This is a great sushi place. My friends and I go all the time trying new rolls and we always get the spicy dog. It sounds a bit odd but I recommend the spicy dog it's not too spicy and very good.

Outstanding! We were THRILLED to find excellent quality sushi on this side of town. The space is cozy and comfortable, the service is warm and friendly, and the food is absolutely outstanding. We normally get sushi and ramen and they never, ever disappoint. Toki is the BEST!

The place is located in a shopping center behind a few businesses off of Louetta once you go down the small hill it's right in front of you . It's tiny and quaint very adorable I. My opinion but not a lot of seating space I assume that's why you have the wait sign . When I arrived my food was brought straight up to me and was correct . The salmon melted in my mouth the surf clam was very yummy as well as the sweet shrimp . The service was nice and efficient I believe I will definitely be returning here again .

Great little restaurant that has pretty good Japanese food. Basically there are a variety of appetizers, few types of ramen, cool dogs (Japanese hotdogs), and sushi/sashimi. The interior is pretty cozy and small. My husband ordered a tonkotsu ramen and I ordered the chefs choice sushi and seaweed salad (can't go wrong with this! So tasty!). After we ordered, the one and only waitress came by with two pieces of gyoza as complimentary - it was delicious! It looks like only one person cooks everything because the rest of the food took a while to come out. My husband got his ramen fairly quickly while it took quite a bit for my sushi platter. The ramen was pretty good, the broth was tasty with a hint of sweetness. The noodle was too firm for my liking, but there was a whole egg in the bowl which was nice! My sushi platter finally came out and I was pleasantly surprised. The fish tasted pretty fresh. The prices are pretty decent for everything and the service was pretty good. I can't imagine how it may be if the restaurant was full though with the one waitress and chef. I would probably return here!

Hands down THE BEST ramen I have had in TX so far. Their broth is rich, creamy, umami, everything ramen broth should be. They don't skimp on the amount of noodles you get either. The egg is always perfect and the chashu is incredible. Go for their happy hour and have the fried cheese sticks, they're mini cream cheese spring rolls and will definitely get you appetized. I would eat here everyday if I could!

Always tasty! My kids and I always love their ramen and their appetizers are so good. If your into sushi then you can't ever go wrong with a shaggy dog roll.
