"Schaumburg is the suburban destination for plant-based eaters with restaurants like Tokio offering vegetarian and vegan options with some gluten-free pairings as well. Tokio merges Japanese and American pub style food where one will find ramen and beignets under the same roof. Their Restaurant Week lunch menu for $25 offers three hearty courses including veggie potstickers, tofu and shiitake mushroom ramen, and beignets to conclude a heartwarming meal. One can dine indoors, outdoors, or do takeout and delivery." - Shanti Chu

The husband might think it’s just Chinese food, but the wife knows better. If you love hoisin sauce and sushi (and maybe earning some Lettuce points) then this place is your jam. AAAND you can do a bang bang - eat here and then walk through the doorway to Shaws for some real seafood! Things to try at Tokio Pub (pics included!) - their take on crab Rangoon in a tempura deep fried sushi rules - it’s the cream cheese your mouth didn’t know it needed! - volcano roll - made with a soy paper wrap instead of the traditional nori paper. While not the traditional roll, you’ll definitely enjoy the fresh chunks of tuna which gives it a summer roll taste - pork belly buns - If you love pork belly then it’s business as usual here. Will hit the spot. - got here in time to try their $1 tacos! Not bad but not worth it. The meat is very over sauced and combined with the pickled slaw it was not the best of flavor combos. Every dish is essentially $16. We got 5 plus ice tea - $100 for two people. Will be coming back!

Google
Fancied a bit of Japanese / Asian Fusion food for dinner when on business in Schaumburg and so my colleague and I headed to 'TOKIO Pub'. The ambience was nice and casual and the menu had a good selection of Asian dishes with starters, rolls, and rice and Ramen. To start we shared the Red Dragon Rolls, the Crispy Chicken Pot Stickers and Crispy Meat Springs Rolls, all of which were very good. For main course we both had the Pork Belly Ramen which was also good but for me the broth was not creamy like the traditional Pork Belly Ramen that I'm used to... But it was still super tasty. All in all I can recommend TOKIO Pub and I'd certainly not have any issues eating here again.

Google
My very first time trying this type of food. I really enjoyed it. Friendly staff, cool relaxed vibes. I was definitely eager to try the noodle burger.....and it didn't disappoint.

Google
This place is one of my favorites! If you are in Schaumburg area this place is perfect for date nights! The drinks are amazing, my personal favorites are Old Fashioned and Tokio Bloom! Their sushi selection is unique and has such a different and delicious taste! Their food portions are small than others but if you are not sharing its plenty. The staff is really pleasant! You must try it!

Google
Our first visit to Tokio Pub was amazing. Mary did an amazing job to give us plenty of recommendations for drinks, food and desserts. I highly recommend trying the filet mignon! Very juicy and tender. We also tried the samurai fries, a bit spicy but very crispy and a lot of seasonings. The Lucky Cat drink was a bit strong and very citrusy. Not my favorite. We also tried the beef sizzling rice, highly recommend to stir the rice from bottom up to avoid it burning otherwise it’s delicious. The Tonkatsu broth with pork was delicious, served said its bone brother. The pork was super tender but had too many sesame seeds overall. Lastly, we tried the beignets, not my favorite. Dark chocolate and bit plain. Also be warn the chocolate syrup does literally squirt everywhere! I got it on my shirt and pants !!! Haha Overall loved the place, food and atmosphere!

Google
Went here for my birthday and the service was excellent (I wish I could remember our servers name though, but she was awesome!). We had ramen and sushi for dinner which was on point. Paired everything with some saki and nice cold Sapporo with a sweet chocolate cake as the finisher🎉. Overall I would recommend if you're in the Schaumburg area.

Google
Service was quick and efficient. The vibe was super cool & cozy. Food was so fresh and good. Didn’t leave here feeling heavy and gross- and the drinks were awesome! Can’t wait to come back in the summer and sit on the patio. Happy hour cut our tab in half!!! Amazing.

Google
Staff was absolutely amazing. (June 16, 7pm) -DISCLAIMER- These are just my opinions! I had: -Hot sake -Miso soup (Good) -Calamari appetizer (soaked in mayo? Maybe they should put mayo on the side because it ruins the crispy texture) -A rainbow roll (rice was fridge cold) -And Bbq pork buns (slightly cold and didn't find the taste appealing, couldn't finish eating it). I really wanted to like this place, thanks for the service. Also there's a 3% surcharge not specified why.

Yelp
This place was excellent! We got some hot stone meals to share. It's exactly what it sounds like. You get a stone heated to 450 degrees and you cook your meats on it. Great and interactive! We had miso, edamame, and potstickers to start. All super delicious. For my meal, I got the Ramen burger. I just had to try it. It's a burger with Ramen noodles for a bun. Not to be a Petey repeat but it was delicious! It was our service first night and she did an excellent job! If she hadn't told us, I would've never known. I'm impressed. Pretty great food around this area of Chicago.

Yelp
Spicy tuna roll was a log chunk of cucumber with rice wrapped around it with mini two tiny pieces of shaved thin tuna on top of roll (wasn't that freshly. And spicy sauce on bottom of plate. Given a splash of soy sauce on the side. Awful for the money I paid compared to the last time two weeks ago give a toll came with frozen crabmeat center. Save your money whether it's happy hour or regular hour. Wish I could get a refund Only thing good was the nice server

Yelp
Great restaurant in the area! There's a lot of restaurants and things to do around the area. There's also plenty of parking spots in the lot across from the restaurant. The service is super friendly and efficient. We came here for my bf's birthday dinner and they gave us ice cream and beignets for dessert. For appetizers, the spring rolls were delicious and fresh with the chili sauce and the lettuce. For main dishes, I recommend getting the sushi. The volcano roll ($16) and salmon sashimi were flavorful and delicious. For the sashimi, it just came with one piece for $5. The roll came with 8 pieces and was decently filling. You might need 2 rolls to feel full. The hand rolls that they serve here are pretty small, other Japanese restaurants usually stuff them full and it's a bigger cone shape. My bf got the ramen burger and it was decent. The ramen bun was a bit soggy feeling, and not super crispy. The meat was flavored well but not much else outstanding with the ramen bun. The inside of the restaurant is very modern with its decorations and light fixtures. Everything was clean and organized. I will say though, it's a journey to get to the bathroom. You have to go to the Shaw's restaurant side to use the restroom. Thank you for a great dinner!

Yelp
I came here recently on 2 different occasions. I remember the one thing I remembered about Tokio Pub in the past were the beignets. They were soo delicious and melted in your mouth. However, things may have changed and they don't come out hot anymore so it's not tasty. Customer Service: The staff here are friendly, but it can be a little slow when it comes to time to get the check, pay and leave. Washroom: It is shared with Shaw's Crab House and requires walking up the stairs to get there or can opt for the elevator (I think there is one) Food Ramen Burger ($15): It sounded neat to come with the ramen bun and looks cool, but it was bland to have a ramen bun. I wouldn't recommend it unless it was purely for pictures. Beef Sizzling Rice ($15): beef tenderloin, sautéed onions & shiitake mushrooms, egg yolk, crispy shallots, red chili threads. If I'd order anything again, this would be it. It may be on the saltier side depending on how you like your flavor. This was the more flavorful food item that I ordered. Steak Ramen: The ramen came out warm but it was soo salty! If all the ramens taste like this one, I wouldn't recommend ordering ramen here. The steak tastes okay but the ramen itself was just too salty and not great at all. It didn't taste like broth was used, maybe just a seasoning package or a ton of salt was added. Dessert Beignet ($6): sweet chocolate filled pastry puffs rolled in sugar. It tastes good when it's fresh. The recent time I went, it was not warm and didn't taste that great. I'll check out other restaurants prior to coming back here.

Jaison J.

Yelp
Opted for takeout from this place and ordered the Beef Sizzling Rice, which I did enjoy overall. The shiitake mushrooms were a particular highlight. While the experience would likely have been better if I had dined in, I do plan to return and explore more dishes. Tip: If you're doing takeout, note that the entrance is the same as Shaw's Crab House.

Yelp
In town from Southern California, went to lunch and ordered a Rainbow roll and Miso soup. The waitress was amazing, so nice and informative. The atmosphere was great and I was extremely excited to try the sushi. The roll came out with incredibly small portions of fish on top. ( which I am very grateful for now after tasting it it) the first bite I had, the fish smelled and tasted so fishy. If you are a sushi enthusiast you know good sushi does not smell or taste like fish. I was hesitant to try the next piece as it was a different fish. That one was ok, but since the horrible fist bite nothing tasted right after that. Hours later I am still belching up bad fishy taste in my mouth I can just puke. In addition to that they add a three % fee to your check for a service fee???? Great charge me for your bad fish and a servive fee. Update: still very sick from the bad fish!

Yelp
reasonable prices and food is delicious! cant beat it for informal lunch or dinner. I think this is a hidden gem in the streets of woodfield area. You can enjoy delicious drinks and low key atmosphere, will definitely return!

Paul F.

Yelp
Food - my mom and I each ordered a ramen which they "specialize" in. The worst ramen I've ever had - drowned in soy sauce, barely any noodles, and awful presentation. Definitely eating some more food after leaving. Service and ambiance were both just fine. Pretty empty for dinner time but I'm guessing that's because people know to avoid it

Denise F.

Yelp
We ordered ramen which they boast to be their specialty. It was horrible. Oily & salty Hard to image this is actually a lettuce entertainment restaurant

Jonathan M.

Yelp
It feels like Shaw's wanted a side gig, but didn't want to give it 100% effort. The highlights included the tuna on a hot rock that was tasty. The sushi rolls were only ok, nothing spectacular. The beef rice dish was way over-sauced, which ruined a dish that could have been tastier. Our server seemed to be struggling a lot and it took way to long to get check and get out. The tables were physically beat up, but not in a charming kind of way. Either paint them or put a table cloth on! I'm not rushing back with so many other great pan-asian places around.

Jim B.

Yelp
It was decent. We stopped here for dinner. We were seated right away and we're brought water. Drink order was taken. My wife had a $5 (Taco Tuesday special) Margarita. She enjoyed it. I tried it. A bit sweet for my taste. We ordered the Chicken Potstickers for an appetizer. Very nice. For dinner, we ordered: - Red Dragon Roll - Filet Mignon Japanese Hot Rock - Roasted Tofu and Shiitake Mushroom Ramen My wife enjoyed the Hot Rock meal, though not very filling. We loved the Red Dragon Roll. Note too that they use minimal rice in the roll. I was happy for that. I had the Ramen. I really liked the Soy Marinated Egg half. The rest of the bowl was just so-so in my opinion. I would come back for the Ramen, though their other varieties may be better. The broth wasn't very tasty or inspiring.

Yelp
Been a long time since my last visit. Menu selection is now 1/3 or 1/4 what it used to be and mediocre barebones. I recall a side of white/brown rice was an option... no? Hence no order of the bang bang shrimp. Service was basic. Order from Shaws menu was better its the same kitchen but delivery and volume was lacking. It did not look nicely plated as normal and was so tasteless. No generic rolls with the calamari? Had to ask. Wtf it's still an $18 charge. Waste.

Carl L.

Yelp
First, the service was excellent, our waitress was Emily. The drinks were good. I came here once before and was disappointed with the food. Today, the fries tasted like leftovers from lunch. The nacho tacos had good filling, but the tortilla was stale. Sorry, but the kitchen seems lazy.

Rebekah L.

Yelp
Got a chance to stop by last Tuesday for a date night with my husband for a belated anniversary celebration. We haven't been able to get out much alone since having twins. Let me just start by saying - it was such a perfect date night. From the food to the service. Everything was phenomenal! It was taco Tuesday and $5 margaritas! We tried the yuzu and passion fruit margarita. Both were fantastic, but I liked the passion fruit more. For our appetizer we got the bang bang calamari. It was lightly breaded and crispy! Be forewarned it is a tad bit spicy for those that might not eat spicy foods. A similar sauce is use in their tiger shrimp tacos. Both were delicious! A must try when you're here - the hot rocks!! It was so good we put in another order for the filet hot rocks. The meat was so tender and it cooked perfectly. The rock is 500 degrees so definitely be careful. The salt, pickling, and sauce that it comes with is the perfect combination with the filet. We got a pork belly ramen to share. The waitress planned the whole meal out perfectly. They split the ramen in the kitchen and just made it so much easier to share! My husband described it as a clean soup ramen and I agree. Just light and delicious. The soup isn't as dark and heavy in flavor as some other ones you might've tried. We really enjoyed it. We finished our date night with banana crème crepes. We loved it, but for others it may be a little strong on the alcohol side. Let's just say you can definitely taste the rum. Hah Let me finish off by saying - we will definitely be back. And probably soon cause we loved our experience so much. Also to our waitress - service was top notch! Thank you so much for making our date night such a memorable one!

Sopla R.

Yelp
I'm giving it a 3 star. We have several LEY here in the city that are consistently above average that we do like to frequent so we thought we'd give it a try.. We've also been the crab place before too so.. We had a decent overall experience mainly because of our nice and attentive and knowledgeable server. It's such a rare occurrence to have that so kudos for that:) Spring Rolls were decent, nice crunch, flavor. Sushi rolls were ok. Nothing wow'd us. Mango salad. Fail. Hard unripe mango?? Chintzy on the avocado too. Spring lettuce mix. Why do chains bother serving unripe stuff? Why can't they figure out how to let fruit ripen? I wonder? I can do it so?? It's a PEEVE of mine. Probably wouldnt return. Too many better sushi type places for same $. Happy hour here is probably worth it.

Lea M.

Yelp
First time here and loved it! Very different ramen than I'm used to (lighter and less salty), but the filet/mushroom ramen and pork belly ramen were both really good. We also had the tuna and filet hot rocks, and it was fun and tasty. Sushi roll and pork belly buns were also really fresh, light, and delicious. To summarize, we tried basically everything and it was all top notch. Fun fact: They share a kitchen with Shaw's Crab House, so you can have both menus at your table.and order from both restaurants.

Jared G.

Yelp
Service was good, vibe was good, presentation was good, food was okay. I mean my problem with fusion places is it just leaves me wanting the real thing. The hot rock was cool.

Jessica Z.

Yelp
Tokio Pub is a must go if you find yourself Woodfield adjacent. The staff was fun and engaging and helpful when choosing menu items. The food more than speaks for itself by being both tasty and reasonably priced. The spicy tuna crispy rice was some of the best we've ever had and we are still dreaming about the ramen! Highly recommend!!

Jessica Z.

Yelp
Hot rocks are a fun starter. This place is a hip spot for a date or celebration. Wait staff is awesome. So friendly and helpful.

Karolina S.

Yelp
Nice spot, great menu and amazing service. As far as food goes we started off with some calamari and Filet Mignon hot rock. Calamari was delicious according to my husband. The hot rock was great too. Then we had some Seared Filet & Shiitake Mushroom ramen and it was so so so so goooood! It was also really filling, so much so that we only took a couple of bites of the Ramen Burger, and that is the only thing I would not recommend. The ramen bun just tastes weird and makes the burger a bit dry.

Stella P.

Yelp
There's nothing special with the restaurant. The food was mediocre as we as the service. It could have been that we were there at an odd time during the week.

Mirella K.

Yelp
Honestly, I don't know how Tokio Pub has less than 4 stars. I went here with my boyfriend for the first time a months ago this summer. We made a reservation, but we didn't need one - there were plenty of open tables and no wait time. Our server was very attentive and went over some dishes without us even asking. It was dimly lit inside and they had a really cute half indoor half outdoor patio. We ordered the red dragon roll, vegetable dumpling ramen, and the seared filet & shiitake mushroom ramen. I was pleasantly surprised with all the food - it was delicious! The ramen was not too salty, had a lot of vegetables, tasty dumplings, and was very filling. The red dragon roll was more on the simple side for a sushi roll, but for a simple roll it tasted super good. I'm only docking 1 star because of the pricing - the sushi roll was $16, vegetable dumpling ramen was $14, and seared filet & shiitake mushroom ramen was $15. I thought these prices were too high for the meals, especially the sushi roll. Nonetheless, I highly recommend trying their ramen here - there aren't a lot of good ramen places in the suburbs, and this one definitely is a spot you don't want to miss!

Jon K.

Yelp
Food was not good. Nor was there much Asian about it. Service was good and attentive. Felt bad for the staff working here as the food did nothing to showcase the business. Save your $$, go elsewhere.

Chicagoland Yelpe R.

Yelp
Great spot... Rangoon roll, shrimp tacos, pot stickers.. it was all pretty good... tasty saki, good service. I'm going back

Brianna B.

Yelp
Tokio Pub is a great casual dining experience. The menu is Asian fusion and somewhat limited. Our group had the volcano roll, red dragon roll, and I had the beef sizzling rice and all were very good! I would recommend the sushi. Minus one star because I do feel some items are on the pricier side for the portion size.

Angelica M.

Yelp
Aesthetic: I really like it inside! It was really nice and the ambiance feels really good. It's a good cool place to hangout with friends. Overall 4/5 Food: It was a hit or miss. The ramen I ordered was alright. Noodles was very thin. There was really nothing super special about the food. There was also barely anything on the bowl. It was average at best. The ahi-tuna on the rocks however was fantastic. It was a great experience that I have never done before. I didn't even know it existed. It tasted good both raw and cooked. It was very satisfying to watch overall 3.5/5 Service: The service was really good! The lady serving us was super nice and respectful. After we finished eating she never tried to kick us out by giving us the check. We were there for a while so I appreciated that. Overall, I really like the the aesthetic and service. Food was a bit inconsistent though. I didn't really like the ramen. It wasn't bad. It was just not the best. The inconsistency on the food is the only thing that bothers me. Otherwise, it's not a terrible restaurant.

Meck B.

Yelp
refused to amend to my modifications to my food good service though liked the surrounding area and ambiance but food matters the most and they would do anything

Stephen M.

Yelp
I stumbled into this place by accident. What a lucky person I am. The food was excellent. The staff excellent.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I've been to Tokio Pub maybe 3 or 4 times but thought I'd update my review for COVID times! Fun right?! I went on Friday, February 12th 2021 and they are currently open for indoor dining at 25% capacity. Temp checks when you first walk in, as well as a QR code to view menu online (they do also have physical menus at the table if you prefer). There are tall, clear plastic partitions between booths and all staff wears masks. I don't think our waiter wore gloves but the person who took away our dishes definitely did. We also got our own stoppered bottle of water. I was a little disappointed that during COVID happy hour is suspended, I was looking forward to half price drinks, but whatcha gonna do... Food was delicious as always. It was my first time ordering the bang bang calamari and holy cow it was delicious! The coating was light and crispy, the sauce creamy and flavorful with a bit of tang and heat. Of course will be back!

Misa T.

Yelp
Stopped in here for dinner after shopping. This is part of the lettuce entertain you restaurant group. Prices seemed reasonable though. They do have a happy hour from 4-6 on weekdays I believe. Service was okay. It wasn't super busy when we were here. One of the staff members dropped plates/glasses two different times within 30 minutes and a piece of glass flew into my shoe, so that was fun. Food was average, nothing was mind blowing in my opinion. I think for the price though it's not bad. Rangoon roll - I love crab rangoons and this puts a spin on it - using spicy shrimp and cream cheese. The chili oil and sweet & sour sauce gave it some nice flavor. 3 taco combo ($10.50) - not a bad deal! Tacos were decent. Potstickers were chicken & pork and sesame ginger sauce paired well with it. If you check in on yelp you can get a free order of pot stickers! Calamari was in a bang bang sauce which gave it a good kick. The calamari itself was quite big. These were a little cold when they came out though.

Palisha R.

Yelp
We ordered curbside pick up this weekend and it was kind of a confusing process but the kind host guided me through the steps because Tokio Pub was attached to Shaws Crab House so you have to enter through Shaws to pick up your carry out but the nice man took his time to wait for me! The food was pretty good, pricy though...we ordered 4 things and our total was 50 bucks but it was yummy! We ordered 2 orders of wow bao- we got the chicken teriyaki and it was very good! Then we ordered their Crab Rangoon roll and that was very yummy, tasted exactly like a crab Rangoon and then we ordered a basic shrimp tempura. So not that many items for two people and the total was still pricy but flavor was very good! It's a nice restaurant, they looked like they had people seated inside so the ambiance looked very sleek and modern. Def a cute place for a date but a little pricy for take out.

Ashlynn C.

Yelp
Anybody who rated this place anything above a 2 or a 3 must be getting paid to do so by the restaurant. The lady bussing tables and the host were the two only human beings in this entire restaurant who were nice. I met several employees and was appalled at the attitudes and demeanor of those working there. The food was a disaster. However, the sushi was good. I will gladly commend the sushi chef. The sushi was flavorful and delicious. That being said, the miso soup and the pork belly ramen were both disasters. I tried to take photos but the restaurant was very dark and I couldn't get any good photos of anything. The plates and dishes at the table when we sat down were dirty and used. That was very off-putting. I asked the waiter if we could please get clean plates at the table and the response I received was truly infuriating. Our server had the nastiest attitude and kept disappearing for half hour at a time. The food took an hour to come out and we waited half an hour to track down our waiter after that to ask for refills and drinks. I am very frustrated with my experience at this pub and will most definitely never return. The amount of money spent at this establishment to have such a disaster of an experience is inexcusable. The place was run down. It was dirty. It was extremely dark and empty. There was hardly any people on a Saturday at 6-8pm. That should have been my first sign.

Criselle C.

Yelp
Came back for some more cocktails . . . delicious Old Fashioned and Sumita Sunrise with a cherry. Crème brûlée . . . so good.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Very trendy, laid back and chill ambience. Service was great. The hostess opened the door for us and promptly seated us. Our server was attentive and very nice. We even had another server strike up a small conversation with my friend and I cause we were getting into the movie that was playing. Food was delicious. We ordered small since we had a movie to get to soon. My only gripe is that the menu could be a little bit more extensive, but other than that this place was very nice Asian fusion restaurant and bar. A nice stop if you're in the streets of woodfield.

Ashley B.

Yelp
I love Tokio Pub. Casual place with good food, you can't go wrong. This restaurant is right in the streets of Woodfield. They have a lot of different items on their menu. Happy hour is insane here, lots of good deals on drinks and food! Our server Nick was attentive and funny. Their sangria is super refreshing. I will continue going to this establishment as the location is prime from my work. The only issue I had with this place is that we sat in their outdoor patio area and it was super hot around 1pm but it was only 75 degrees outside. The server said this was due to the sun hitting the roof. This is not really something they can control, but maybe they could put more fans outside. FYI - they share a restroom with Shaw's next door so it is a little bit of a hike.

Junia N.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place was such a let down. -They have taken great measures to adjust to Covid 19, wherein you can view their menu via your phone. -The menu though consists of a really small selection, and it's unclear based on how it was set up (especially the ramen part; it breaks it down based on what you want but then there's also a few other stuff in that section that do not belong there). The food really disappointed me: -The steamed bao (steamed buns) were soooo soggy on the corners that it gets mushed when you pick it up to eat it. -Their calamari was okay, not too bad, but it gets soaked in the sauce so it has to be eaten quick or it'll lose its crispyness. -Their ramen was just blehh, it tasted like soy sauce in water. Even the pork belly that came with it was sooo salty. They also charge more compared to other Asian restaurants, so I don't think the food was worth it at all. *Also, they do charge a small "Covid 19" fee. Probably a place where you can grab a drink but I'd stay clear of their food, unless you get lucky and get something that's good.

Jolly E.

Yelp
Mizraim was a wonderful server, so fun. My first time here was amazing and so memorable. The ramen burger was SO F GOOD!!! As well as the potstickers-the sauce was so yummy. Absolutely recommend. OHHHHH and the vanilla ice cream??? SO VANILLA-so extraordinary. It's so delicious. I am a huge vanilla fan and this vanilla ice cream was out of this world.

Rita M.

Yelp
LOVED their chicken dumpling ramen. Will come back here for more. Dining area small. Bathroom is shared upstairs with Shaw's Crabhouse

Allison T.

Yelp
Went for to Tokio Pub for the 1st time & during Happy Hour. I love the wide variety of selections. All the items in red on the menu can be ordered for half price during happy hour 4-6 Mon-Fri, and sushi & sangria 4-6 Mon-Fri and all day on Sundays. It also includes pitcher Sangrias. What a deal! We ordered so much food, as you can see by the photos and the bill was only around $50. We ordered 3 rolls, filet mignon hot stone, pitcher of Sangria, 5 tacos and fries. Let's start from my most favorite to least. Tokio Spicy Tuna Roll was so good that we ordered a 2nd one. Beware, it is spicy. Not American spicy, but Asian spicy. I think the spicy kick came from chili oil, as opposed to typical restaurants that only use spicy mayo which isn't spicy for me. The fish tacos had perfect combination of crispy fish and the slaw. By the time I ate fish, I was too full though. But even with my full stomach, it was still good. With that said, I'd skip the sesame chicken taco and get only fish tacos. Samurai fries was a nice touch of American pub-like. After eating so much of "Asian" taste, the fries was kind of like cleaning out my palate. The server wasn't sure if they had a enough to make a pitcher of White Peach Sangria. We asked her to check and come back to us. She brought the picture to us & said we were lucky to get the very last one. I actually think they stretched it to make it to be a pitcher because it was so water down from extra ice. If that ever happened again, I would say no thank you and order different drinks instead. Perhaps $3 Sapporo sounds good. Filet mignon hot stone- you're probably wondering why it's toward the bottom of the least. While it looks so cool & fun to cook, the meat was too marinated that it was too saucy. I love that it came with cucumber salad. I needed it. My stone was small, but my dining mate's stone was large enough to fit & cook the entire meat. I only cooked 1 small piece and he cooked the rest of 5 pieces. Mine stone cooled down super fast. Would I get it again? Hmm... maybe I'll ask for the meat to be not marinated. Scorpion Fire Roll- looks pretty but it's definitely different. Like too different that it's covered in black rice rather than white, and there's guacamole on the top. An interesting combo. I'd rather switch out for another spicy tuna roll instead (a third one? Yup). Was it worth it? Yup! Would I go back! Absolutely!

Definitely a cool spot, and don't forget to check in on yelp as there is a free order of potstickers for checking in (may2018 just Incase you are checking in a year from now and it's not there anymore) I had already ordered a ton before checking in so saved those for later which I will be back. I walked in and sat at the bar which was empty when I sat down, but did not stay that way. Drink order taken promptly and asked if I had been there before or if I needed help with the menu. I will say this is one thing that all lettuce entertain you places does exceptionally well. I decided to start with the hot rock tuna app. This is so cool, they bring out to baskets with a large rock in each that is extremely hot. There's sushi grade tuna on another plate and dipping sauces. You seat the tuna yourself. (For those that don't know how they will gladly walk you through it) Next I went for a roll. I was loving the tuna so I did the tuna on fire roll. The flavors on this were outstanding. Still a little hungry I grabbed some Asian Fries. Also seasoned well, and served hot and crispy... The bartender let me know of the happy hour stuff they do, it's like she knew me. 1/2 price apps/tacos and sangrias etc.... I'm thinking of popping in tonight!! Nicely done!

Yelp
I had a previous review from 2017. Decided to update in 2019. So, I went here tonight. All went well. I am a bit sad that the hot rock appetizers are no longer on the happy hour menu. That is the reason I used to come here. They were a good price during happy hour (steak was $5 during happy hour; $5.50 for the tuna). For $10 / $11 it is very expensive. I feel the tuna isn't as bad of a price; since they give you 7 pieces that are thicker, rather than the 5 super thin pieces of steak. You can get a real full filet mignon at another restaurant for say $30. Three of these $10 hot rock filets ($30 total) would not even equal up to a quarter of the amount of steak you would get for $30 elsewhere. So, that is why I removed half a star. 2nd half a star removed because we didn't really care for the salad or the fish taco. Other than that, service was awesome. Fast & friendly! We did get the hot rocks, because I wanted them; and, they are fun to do. But, I won't come back for them like I used to at this price. We also got two maki rolls, salad, edamame, & three tacos (chicken, steak, and fish). The chicken and steak were good. The fish was bland and just not good at all, won't get that again. Maki was good, on par with other places. The edamame was good (spicy version), and, the drinks were good (in bloom). Salad wasn't to our liking; to me it just tasted like peanuts. Overall, a good dining experience. 4 stars.

Yelp
Accidentally went into the wrong restaurant but right when I walked in, I loved the vibe. The food was delicious. They have great sushi!!!!

Yelp
This was is very mediocre Japanese food. The staff is nice and helpful but the food is just forgetful. Pork belly was tough, it should melt in your mouth. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and found no traces of spicy tuna. Instead I was given a cucumber maki with tuna sashimi on top and some sort of sauce. Sushi rolls leave a lot to be desired.

Yelp
Happy Hour Time!! Everyday from 4-6 the restaurant has some awesome drink and food specials as part of their daily happy hour specials. The select plates and beverages are half off, which is just an incredible deal. Our first order of drinks were great. Round two we would have both loved to have skipped. But, they had liquor in them so we made sure to finish them off. We started off with the Zen Garden and Honolulu Blue. Both were great drinks and you could easily order any of those two and enjoy the drink. The Honolulu blue comes in a great glass with ample cherries and pineapple. Definitely a drink you'd get on the nearest beach. The zen garden was an excellently crafted cocktail. Nice flavors. As far as drinks to skip....the yuzu margarita. Trust me, it's not the great margarita flavors we've all come to know and love. We love a good happy hour and being able to share plates together. We added one appetizer that wasn't part of happy hour, but it's well worth getting so I'll start with that one. The Japanese hot rock is a river rock brought to the table scorching hot. You have a choice of either filet or tuna to let the river rock cook your meat to your specified perfection. The meat is accompanied with a great sauce, some salt/pepper mix to allow seasoning, and some flavorful cucumbers that were marinated. The edamame is a great snack for the table, and these appetizers/plates from here on out were all half off. Two flavor options for the edamame and us liking a little kick went with the spicy. The ginger garlic is your other choice. Order these, you'll love them. The potstickers were great. Perfectly pan fried and accompanied with a very flavorful dipping sauce. So good, that we added a second order halfway through the meal. Start with these so you can order another round if you need a bit more food. We moved onto a sushi roll and decided on the Scorpion-Fire Roll. The roll consists of shrimp tempura, jalapeño, chipotle sauce, guacamole, black rice, and tobiko. It was a good roll with lots of flavors going on. Much different than your traditional roll. The presentation is excellent as the roll definitely looks like a dragon the way it's decorated. Unless your dining guest has a head that's in the gutter because then it looks very provocative. Photo attached! We wanted a little more food so we went with the combo tacos which come with three. We tried both the Korean chicken and fried fish. These were the let down of the meal and I would just skip these entirely. The fried fish looked like someone took a fish stick and tried doctoring it up. The Korean chicken lacked some flavor and was overwhelmed with the tortilla flavor. Order another sushi roll instead of venturing towards these. We added the Japanese hot rock for $11, 2 orders of potstickers, edamame, the fire roll, 3 taco combo, and 4 drinks to get a bill of $55. You can't beat the happy hour and we would definitely come back for it. The restaurant has a great ambiance and definitely a place that feels fun to come to.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here wjth some friends! Our server was patient with us as we couldn't decide what we wanted to order from restaurant week. We also ordered a pitcher of the ginger mojito which was good. We also had miso soup, scorpion fire roll, salmon roll, rainbow roll, the 5 taco combo, and the beef and broccoli stir fry. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the rolls and our entrees! The 5 taco combo consisted of a chicken, steak, nacho, crying tiger shrimp, and crispy fish. The crying tiger shrimp was pretty spicy but delicious! We also ordered dessert and got the beignets and coconut pineapple cream. The beignet had a chocolate filling that is best eaten in one bite because it can be messy in a good way!

Yelp
Man what a great find. Was hungry for some sushi and gave Tokio a try. The hot rock tuna and steak was amazing. What a cool experience and fun evening. Rolls were amazing and service was top notch. Paulie and V took great care of us. I

Yelp
We went for lunch because I wanted my peeps to try some new food. Our server seated us at a small table by the door. Umm no sir...it's cold out here. We made and executive decision and found another table. Our sever started out ok. He was a bit monotone but was able to give a good demo of the menu. After he took our orders, we never saw him again. It took a rather long time for our food to come out, but it was still delicious. Fast forward to us finishing up. We asked for an order on the beignets which our server said he put on hold. We signaled for the manager to come over and she put the order in. She was nice enough to to accommodate the wait by giving us two orders. I'd say that was redemption. We enjoyed our desert and then signaled our server again to ask for the checks. He came with the checks and didn't bring pens. Instead of waiting my prepared peep had a few in her purse. We signed and left. This wasn't my first time visiting, but it was my second. The first time I was super impressed and enjoyed the experience from start to finish. This visit did not live up to my previous visit. I'd still return, but I hope not to get the server I had.

Yelp
My dad and I dined in during happy hour in the beginning of April. Certain foods on the main menu were half off if it was typed in red or had a certain symbol by it. We started with drinks. My dad got a beer while I got the In Bloom cocktail. Sweet and fresh, I recommend! For food we got tacos, the Nacho Tacos and Crispy Fish. We had three each. They were both good, but I liked the Nacho Taco more. Not too much of a fan of the nacho itself that comes with it, but I guess it's all in the name. We also had the Rainbow Roll. That was yummy as well and with the happy hour price it was a great deal. *Make sure to check in on Yelp! You get a free order of potstickers when you buy an entree!* I thought it wouldn't count during happy hour but it does. Combined with good service and a cool vibe, this place is a pretty nice option for happy hour!

Yelp
Amazing place with large portions and good prices! After working up an appetite at the local Gameworks, I was ready for some good food. Tokio Pub is by no means a traditional Japanese restaurant, but if you're looking for some Asian fusion food with a unique twist, it's a great place to go to. My appetizer came first, which was an order of the calamari. It was sadly quite small but packed with great flavor. The entire bowl was coated with delicious spicy mayo and other delicious sauces. Some of the pieces were a bit too salty, but overall great. My boyfriend and I ordered two burgers, the ramen and salmon burgers. Both were out of this world! The salmon burger was ENORMOUS and had this sweet glaze on it. Before I knew it, the whole thing was gone. I honestly thought the ramen burger was ok. Oddly enough, we saved some of it for home, and when I reheated it, it tasted even better. The night ended with an order of the beignets. It wouldn't be an understatement to say that these were definitely the best beignets I've ever had, but be careful! I made the mistake of biting them in half, and the chocolate sauce inside exploded all over the table.
