The absolute best steak I have ever had in my entire life. The best steak, the best hamburger, and probably one of the overall best meals I have ever had in all of my travels across Europe, Japan and on cruises. I am from the U.S. and my friends are picky eaters (I am not picky), so I’ve had many burgers, but I don’t think I could ever have another American hamburger again. A steak so good that using ground meat for anything else now feels like a crime. Do not skip this place- even if it seems strange to get a hamburger in Japan, this one is worth it. So juicy, so flavorful and all around extraordinary. This may be the best meal I’ve had during my three weeks in Kyoto. I never go to a restaurant alone twice, but I am making an exception. Seriously this food was a religious experience. I waited 30 min but I would have waited triple and paid double and it still would have been worth it. Broad selection, reasonable prices, super efficient management and very very friendly staff. Great atmosphere, perfect food and an impeccable experience. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

We didn’t really know what to eat and we saw some locals queuing up to eat here so we gave it a try. The staff seems to be really nice because when we asked the to sit at the bar to watch the kitchen they didn’t seem to mind and were actually quite happy that we were so interested in their food. We both ordered the 300g patty with cheese and some kind of red wine sauce. (1290Y) We also got the rice and soup as sides which cost a bit but I forgot how much. Now to the rating. The beef paddy was really delicious. Very juicy and definitely the highlight of the plate. However I wasn’t really happy with the other sides. I got 4 pieces of wedges which could have been fried crispier and maybe salted a bit better however if u ate them with the sauce then it was ok. And then we got 2-3 pieces of cooked carrots which taste of course like normal carrots but they were nothing special. Overall the plate looked a bit empty and I think if they work a bit on maybe presenting it better and improving their sides then it would be a good lunch/dinner option. So for me I wouldn’t come back if they don’t change anything because I need more then just the patty, in my option I also need to be happy with the sides and a good presentation.

We wanted to try the hambagu as it's apparently something in Japan. You can choose between two different portion sizes and different sauces. We went for the classic with fries and salad. It was juicy but I'm not a fan. Fries were really bad and they didn't want to give me mentaiko mayonnaise with it unfortunately. Service was good and fast though and we were able to share a plate without having to order two mains.

Nice place for eating out with friends, the staff is really nice and friendly, although mainly locals eat there they accommodate to give you an English menu if you are foreigners I recommend their hamburgers which are a totally banger and for such a good price You must take into consideration that it is quite popular so in the late evening you may find a queue

I recommend this place to the person who wants to try a Japanized Western cuisine. This place is one of the best places for a Japanese hamburg that I have ever tried in my life. It was very juicy and flavorful.

This place is so popular that there is a long queue at the entrance. But it was worth the wait. The service was great and the hamburger was amazing and very unusual l. Very juicy and light. Worth a try.

Recc to order the one with fried shrimp, it is very good 👍🏻 We usually don't specially go for Hamburg but my friend recc me this so I came to try and this is way beyond our expectations! All staffs are accommodating and friendly, one of the staff who in charge of queue will bother to ask where you come from and speak your language, this is the first establishment that I encountered in Kyoto that will ask where their customers coming from. One of the chef spotted that we are looking at how the steaks are being cooked and so he specially step aside to let us view. (View from counter bar actually is partially blocked so you have to make an effort to stretch out to see how they prep) Must try it at least once!

This is a Japanese restaurant serving its version of meatloaf or hamburger loaf. This restaurant specializes in this type of meatloaf with various western toppings such as carbonara, cheeses, etc. Its claim to fame is the explosion of juice from the meatloaf when you first poke it open for your 1st bite. The food is good and the atmosphere is modern. Overall, a good first experience at this type of Japanese meatloaf and come prepared to wait in line as the queue gets long at dinner time.
