Recc to order the one with fried shrimp, it is very good 👍🏻 We usually don't specially go for Hamburg but my friend recc me this so I came to try and this is way beyond our expectations!
All staffs are accommodating and friendly, one of the staff who in charge of queue will bother to ask where you come from and speak your language, this is the first establishment that I encountered in Kyoto that will ask where their customers coming from. One of the chef spotted that we are looking at how the steaks are being cooked and so he specially step aside to let us view. (View from counter bar actually is partially blocked so you have to make an effort to stretch out to see how they prep)
Must try it at least once!

Hamburg was good
look at the juice oozing out
The sauce tasted similar to ketchup (got the original one)
Highly recommend to go for the 300g option
For the price paid, it was good👍🏻

Very delicious and juicy Japanese Hamburg. Always wanted for more. We came here twice during our visit and will surely return for more when we visit Kyoto again.

This is a Japanese restaurant serving its version of meatloaf or hamburger loaf. This restaurant specializes in this type of meatloaf with various western toppings such as carbonara, cheeses, etc. Its claim to fame is the explosion of juice from the meatloaf when you first poke it open for your 1st bite. The food is good and the atmosphere is modern. Overall, a good first experience at this type of Japanese meatloaf and come prepared to wait in line as the queue gets long at dinner time.

Food was interesting and like nothing I had tried before in Japan. Can only describe the “hamburger” as being a large flat meatball. Meat was very tender and flavourful. Restaurant itself was a bit sad on the interior but always busy. Would recommend as a hearty lunch after exploring all the temples early in the morning.

There was a line out the door with locals so we thought we'd try this place. I was not too familiar with the Japanese hamburger steak prior to this visit so it was fascinating to see how popular it was.
We waited for about 30 minutes, during which time they took our orders, and once we got seated, the dishes came out fairly soon.
The steak had a lot of fat. So much so that when you poked it, it oozed with enough rendered fat to cover the entire plate. I get that this creates a very tender bite but I personally thought it was unbalanced. It was just too heavy with fat for me to enjoy. The American side of me expected (and wanted) something similar to the regular burger patties. The fried shrimp were overcooked and that didn't help.

Walk passed and saw line of people, so we go back the next day on the opening time. BUT the line was there already! 😳 Spent 40 minutes waiting. Nothing wrong with the hamburg, all are nicely cooked and there are soup coming out when you cut it. But it's just not our type of hamburg, we prefer more rich and tense taste of beef 🙂

One of the best Hamburg I've ever eaten in Japan. The meat tastes great and it's so juicy inside. If you cut it in half from the middle, you can see the meat juice coming out beautifully. You'll probably have to wait for this one, but it's totally worth it🔥
